    If doing this hot glue mod at home, dip the screwdriver head in oil first.

    Really good idea that can be used in a lot of situations. I also like that you show how to do these things with minimal cheap tools. Uh, and Victorinox should hire you for ideas.

    You can buy a 1/4 magnetic socket.
    You can also buy special base shortened bits along with a stripcarrier for them.
    The keychain bit is brilliant though.

    I have been making these for a long time. I insert a small magnet in the adapter fill the adapter with J-B Weld coat the VIC screwdriver with spray cooking spray insert the screwdriver in the adapter and let dry overnight. I am going to make one using hot glue and see how I like it. It would be a lot easier to make with hot glue.

    I really like your videos, thank you for sharing all your ideas. Part of the fun of using any multitool, but especially SAK’s is seeing what all you can do with them. Finding creative solutions or new ways of utilizing these already amazingly helpful tools. Even if a tip or trick doesn’t seem particularly plausible or applicable, it is possible and that makes it fun. Cheers!

    Epoxy putty or JB Weld would be a good alternative to hot glue for slightly longer durability, just be sure it doesn't intrude into the other side of the socket, so there is still room for the bit.
    I agree with Mr. Fletcher, oil the screwdriver so it doesn't stick to the filler.

    This is a great idea but BE CAREFUL. You can’t use much torque or you will bend/break your bottle opener & ruin the knife…

    • @garyp.7501
      @garyp.7501 7 місяців тому +5

      Or worse, bend the knife and prevent it from opening/closing any blades on that side. Clearly a low torque tool.

    • @mrhalfstep
      @mrhalfstep 7 місяців тому +1

      I think some models have the flathead driver designed to rest/lock at the 90 degree angle specifically to allow you to get more torque. Depends on the model, I guess.

    I love this idea. Does the bead chain hold up to much stress? It seems a bit delicate. If it is fairly strong, it would be a great thing to dangle over the edge of your pocket to provide easy access to the knife, as a second benefit.
    It was driving me nuts watching the chained holding device flop around while you were driving the screws. Is there any chance that the chain and/or bit could be captured in some way by the corkscrew while the driver bit was being used, just to keep it a little more out of the way?

    Try an epoxy putty instead of hot glue, pack and insert bottle opener just as you did. Appropriately prepare surfaces. Clean up is a little more involved but it will be stronger. Note: obviously remove can opener before it cures. A quick dip in acetone will decrease sticking to can opener. Jb weld steel stick would be good. Clean up with acetone, let putty cure.

    Я думаю - не стоит хранить такой адаптер на темляке, он побьет накладки, и его нужно держать вместе с битами. Я держу такие переходники вместе с битами 1/4дюйма и 4мм отдельным набором, чтобы дополнить любой из подобных ножей. Вместо термоклея использую эпоксидную смолу.

    another way woud be too drill the hole in the adapter. Thread some cord you could clip tp a carabiner or similar.. THEN add the glue... NO need for the extra bit and less chance of loosing it...

    I've never understood the fascination with jamming bits into multitools. They make for terrible screwdrivers, usually off centre, awkward handles, badly balanced, terrible bits (Leatherman). How much extra bulk or weight does a separate ratchet driver really add
