  • Other videos or professional pest controllers that claim to eliminate German cockroaches are actually only going to control them. This video is for both professionals and do it yourselfers who want to learn how to totally eliminate German cockroaches entirely and in a way that will prevent them from ever coming back. This is a long video because it is not a quick fix, but rather a class on how to get the job done correctly and eliminate the problem once and for all. If you actually want to get rid of your roaches, then you must take the time to learn the proper way to do it and this is the only video that will show you how to get it done, without fail. If you are a professional pest controller, then this class will teach you how to offer a permanent solution for a German cockroach infestations that will require NO return visits. German cockroaches are arguably the most difficult pest to get rid of in the entire world and now there is a way to get it done and anybody can do it. This video may be long and it may be somewhat boring, but it is the ONLY solution to the problem.
    The Nibor-D should be mixed 2.5 cups per gallon of water for mopping and 7.5 cups per gallon of water for spraying.

      You are very welcome, but this was all you. Most landlords would not do this for their tenants. The fact that you took the time and spent the money to get it done speaks volumes about your character. The world would be a much better place if everyone conducted business the same way you do. Very well done. Please stay on top of it though. Don't ever underestimate German cockroaches. Phase two should be done for a full year before you declare the building roach free.

    For anyone who may be discouraged by the length of the video, it's totally worth it. I even watched it twice and still found it very informative. Even if you're planning to get an exterminator, it'll help you observe whether they're actually fixing the problem, or just screwing you so they keep coming back for more money.

    Back in the 60's, we lived in a mobile home and we had a roach problem. They would scatter when you turned the light on. My mother got a bottle of a white milky liquid that had a brush inside. She painted it inside the cabinets and all the drawers, even in the bedrooms, and all along the baseboards. For about a week we would see roaches legs up on the floors and counters. Soon they were gone. For good. Whatever that was is probably no longer available. May also be why I'm now a goofy 64 year old.

      It was DDT. A fantastic product that the patent had expired so no chemical company made money from making it. This video tells you straight up, it will be expensive to get rid of. Gosh, I wonder why. But the average idiot on the street will tell you DDT was banned because eagle shell eggs. Lol. That was fiction from the book "a silent spring" by Rachel Carlson. The public is so badly informed they don't know the difference between fiction and non fiction.

      @@uptoolate2793Roger on that about DDT. I understand that after Rachel Carson’s hysteria over DDT, it was banned in Africa to control malaria-carrying mosquitos. This resulted in millions of Africans dying from malaria. I think DDT should be “reinstated” as a safe and effective pesticide. Perhaps it has been, but under a new name, you think? But whichever, I think Guy will want to include DDT in his arsenal to kill German cockroaches.

      Pesticide regulations changed in the late 1990's and most pesticides were banned. The new requirement for most pesticides is that it must to be safe for children to play on after it dries. Most pesticides in use today have a signal word of caution, which is the same as common laundry detergent. A few have a signal word of warning, but that is not all that harmful either. Very few have a signal word of danger and those are typically not sold to unlicensed applicators. For more information on this topic, please watch my video on the subject. Link below. I know a easy way to get rid of German cockroaches... It has an undesirable side effect. Infest the building with black Suger ants. They will kill all all of them...
      The downside is a ant infestation... you can then get rid of the ants. Unfortunately the roaches can reifest.
      The house they burnt I could have saved.
      Tent the house and nitrogen purge it.
      Nothing lives without oxygen. If it swims crawls hops flys or walks it will die. Of course this process is deadly to humans.
      Entering nitrogen purge is immediately fatal to humans. One breath and your dead.
      The upside is nitrogen is not poison. Once oxygen is reintroduced it can be immediately reocupied.

    I have to thank you. I had an infestation in a rental unit i own and had a pest service come out monthly for a year. The problem kept persisting. After the tennants moved out and seeing more bugs i found your video. I took notes and made an Amazon list of everything you recommended. My wife was panicked so she called a new company to come the same day all of my products arrived. The tech looked at the products and said im going to be honest what you have is better than what my company supplies me with, youre better off doing treatment yourself. I got to work step by step and every day noticed less and less roaches. 2 weeks in we haven't seen a single one, thank GOD! Youre surely Godsend!! It was a bit easier for me to take the plunge and drill holes in walls since i had some patch and paint work to do anyway. Anyone on the fence gotta use these methods. Thanks a million for making this video!

    I appreciate what you explained, because it confirmed what I learned years ago and also more recently. In the early 80’s I moved into an apt that was overrun with these nasty German roaches. Soon after I learned about boric acid and the local hardware store sold the same powder puffer/blower you use, only they were $4 back then. I blew the boric acid powder everywhere 2 walls met, or ceiling and wall, and along baseboards. I also sealed the gynormous cracks under baseboards, because roaches were running under when lights came on at night. NO MORE ESCAPE! As the weeks went by, I saw more and more roaches, and in time learned they were just SO SICK they didn’t care if I saw them. They were suffering and at deaths door and needed water… They were getting longer and longer because they were bloating inside and their body extended beyond their wings. Then they began to pop open… At week two I thought they were eating the stuff and becoming more numerous, but they were just so sick they tried anything to get better. By week three they were legs up everywhere…and many were so bloated and popping open. By week 4 there was hardly even one in sight. I had eradicated them.
    I more recently learned about borax for insects, since it’s mixed with sugar and water and sold as TERRO for ants. So, I made my own concoctions to deal with an ant PLAGUE a couple of years ago. Now, an occasional roach gets in, but quickly dies, and I rarely see live ones. The only thing that does not eat my concoctions is spiders, but I don’t think they are doing well, because I just don’t have bugs for them to eat.
    I wondered if there was something else I needed to learn, but I’m glad to know I have been doing exactly what you prescribe as the best long term treatment to eradicate these nasty things. I live in an older mobile home, in the country, so once in a while bugs get in, or maybe come home in a bag of potatoes. My mom always said they got in many houses in bags of potatoes.
    Thank you for taking the time to explain how to fully treat even inside walls and furniture. Now we can get rid of them EVEN FASTER! I know some who are in apts like I was, and they need to know this. 👍😃

    You are one of the best people on this planet. You’re trying to help people and you’re extremely respectable. I have a phobia of bugs, and recently the roaches are getting out of hand. I brought a giant piece of cardboard, that I put paint on and left it in my yard. It was so big, I threw it on my bed to hang it up later. When I hung it up, a couple hours after a really big roach was on the top of the ceiling walking down. Because I’m extremely scared of bugs, I had a panic attack and my aunt was trying to kill it, but it ended up hiding. I fell asleep for 3 hours and at 7 in the morning there was another roach, It ended up climbing on my cardboard artwork and we ended up getting rid of the artwork. The roach was trying to hide under my dresser. My room had food in it, but I removed all the food from the room, I also cleaned it, and put down gel roach bait in the room, sprayed the entire room with ortho. It is an apartment building, and I put some of the gel bait in the hallway. Will roaches climb on me when I’m sleeping? Because I got 6 hours combined sleep the last 3 days and I don’t know if I can even sleep knowing a roach will crawl on me. Like I know I’m being a huge loser about it, but my big phobia is so strong, I feel like I’m losing my mind. I can’t function on 3 hours of sleep everyday, it’s making me lose my mind

      Thank you so much for those kind words. Very much appreciated.
      I can definitely understand why anyone would have a phobia about bugs, particularly when it comes to cockroaches. They are one of the most vile and disgusting creatures on earth. I may have some good news for you though. If you think you brought the roaches in from the outside, then they are not German cockroaches. These guys simply do not live outside. It is far more likely that you brought in American cockroaches, and they seldom survive for long indoors. Now, I can't be sure of that because I am not there to actually see the roaches, so I would like to ask you a couple of questions. I understand that you were probably in panic mode when you saw them, but do you recall how big they were? Were they the size of your thumbnail or smaller or were they as long as your entire thumb? If they were long, then they are probably American cockroaches and are nothing to worry about. However, if they were much smaller, then they could be German cockroaches and that would be a concern because you live in an apartment. You see, apartments are notorious breeding grounds for German cockroaches. If one apartment has them then it's a safe bet that every apartment in the entire complex will eventually get them. The other question I have is, are you seeing them in the kitchen? German cockroaches love to hang out in kitchens and bathrooms. So, if you have not seen any in the kitchen, then that would suggest that you brought in a couple of American cockroaches that will die pretty quickly. However, if you are seeing roaches in the kitchen, then you most likely have an infestation of German cockroaches. If you would like to put your mind at rest, you can inspect the kitchen with a flashlight. German cockroaches like to hang out in cabinet hinges, around electrical outlets, around dishwashers, around the stove, and definitely under the sink. Just take a flashlight and look for fecal matter. This will look a little like pepper or black dots that are spread around in these locations. If you would like to know exactly how to do this, just watch the first half hour of my video. I explain exactly how they do it. If you do not find any fecal matter and you're not seeing any cockroaches in the kitchen, then you are probably okay. However, if you do see evidence of German cockroaches, then I am afraid you need to do the full treatment that is outlined in my video, with the exception of drilling the walls. Landlords tend to frown on tenants drilling holes in the walls. As always, you can feel free to ask me whatever questions you like, and I will stay with you until you have the matter resolved.

      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

I also use sticky traps under the stove and refrigerator. Keep the stove clean and lift the stove top clean once a month with Clorox wipes. Thank you for this video. Great information.❤❤❤

    Thank you so much!!!!! I just moved into a condo. They must have done a super cleaning because I didnt see any signs of bugs. We moved everything in and left for 4 days to my home state for a wedding. Since there was nothing that couldn't wait to be unpacked we left that until we got home. Got home to a cockroach infested house. They are in the boxes and every room in the house. They travel in through vents. The rental Co. Had pest control come out and I haven't seen one dead roach. I actually wonder if they even called a pest control company since i was working. Your video taught me so much. I appreciate you sharibg your knowledge because at this point I just want to leave with the clothes on my back. Im going to follow your instructions to the letter until I can get out of this lease and hopefully salvage my grandmother's antiques, my new furniture and electronics. You've given me hope. I know the odds of getting rid of them entirely because it's a condo aren't great but I'm going to do my best. Im putting screens on my Hvac vents as well. Hopefully spraying a 3ft area of wall and floor in front of my door will help as well. I'd appreciate any other advice anyone else can think of. I don't even want to cook or eat here. I'm sleeping with one eye open.

      I am so sorry that you are having this problem. Please keep in mind that, if you have German cockroaches, then the units surrounding you also have them, and they are breeding in the walls as well. Since they will continue to come in from adjoining units, it is virtually impossible to eliminate the problem 100%. Still, all is not lost. If you do everything in the video, you may never see another cockroach again. If you do a thorough job with phase two, and you apply Nibor-D and boric acid every place a cockroach can possibly place its foot, then they will have no choice but to cross it when they enter your unit. Contact with these materials will result in death within several days, and that is not enough time for them to reproduce. Therefore, they will no longer be able to establish an infestation in your unit. When they enter, they will generally seek a hiding place as quickly as possible, so it is possible that you may never see them. If you do see them, you can be confident that they will be dead within a few days. The key to achieving this is thoroughness. Be sure to apply Nibor-D on all the baseboards and puff boric acid under all the baseboards. Never spray a liquid, like Nibor-D, over the top of boric acid. Always apply liquids first, dusts second, and baits last. Be sure to remove all the ceiling light fixtures and puff boric acid around the electrical boxes in the ceiling. Also spray the inside of the light fixtures, where the wires are, with Nibor-D. If you cannot remove the light fixtures, then spray Nibor-D around them on the ceiling. Make sure that you mop all the floors with Nibor-D, every time you mop. It is also important to spray the carpets as well. Nibor-D should be mixed at a ratio of 2.5 cups per gallon of water for mopping and spraying carpets. It should be mixed at a ratio of 7.5 cups per gallon for all other applications. Pay particular attention to the kitchen and bathrooms. It is very common in condos for the kitchen and bathroom walls to adjoin other units. The pipes are a natural highway for roaches to get into your kitchen or bathrooms, so make sure that you apply boric acid around all the pipes, in all cracks and crevices, under all appliances, and any other places where it will not be disturbed by people, pets, or air currents. Prior to applying the boric acid, make sure that you remove all the drawers, and apply Nibor-D inside all the cabinets and on the exterior surfaces on all the drawers. Remember, the idea is you want to apply either Nibor-D or boric acid on every surface where a cockroach can possibly place its foot and that will not be damaged by these materials. Trust me, if you miss a spot, the roaches will find it, so leave no stone unturned. I recommend that you watch the phase two portion of my video more than once, to be certain that you understand exactly how to do it. The better the job you do, the less likely you will ever see another cockroach again. Finally, after you are finished with phase two in the kitchen and bathrooms, be sure to seal up all cracks and crevices around pipe penetrations. No sense making it easy for them to get in from another unit.
      I hope that helps. Be well April.

    You won’t have any more of them but then you can end up bringing them back into your home in brown paper bags and other ways too. That is why we are blessed to have you tell us how to get rid of them for good even if we unknowingly bring them in from other places. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your channel with us.

    You have been like an angel in this family.. a “savior” if you will.
    You have saved our house from being burned to the ground because my son was ready to destroy everything (I was too honestly). But he watched this video and it lit a fire in HIM! It’s personal now and he’s determined to win this War. He has bought everything you recommended and is performing your instructions to a T. They are still coming out but they are all in slow motion. Now we’re drilling holes in all the walls, covering everything with dust or spray, mopping with Nibor D, boric acid in the carpet and everything is being treated. My son even insisted on treating under the house and the attic despite hearing from most experts it wasn’t necessary. Thanks to you, we finally feel like we are winning! It feels so good to take back OUR home. Thank you for taking the time to create this video.
    You’re the best!

    Cliffs Notes (copy and paste for reference):
    Core idea:
    -Leave no stone unturned. Give roaches nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
    -Treat 1 room at a time perfectly before moving onto another one.
    -Start with kitchen, then bathroom, and don't forget garage.
    ***Total estimated cost, Phase 1 + 2 = ~$449 - $514 ***
    (based on 10/24/2023 prices off Amazon or Walmart)
    Phase 1 ("Quick Knockdown") (Phase 1 cost: ~$231.50):
    -What pros typically do.
    -Need => baits, dust, insect growth regulator, liquid insecticide
    -Start with Good cleaning =>
    1) Remove all food sources (including crumbs, grease, etc)
    2) Don't leave dirty dishes lying around.
    3) Clean appliances as thoroughly as possible. (Top, bottom, inside + out)
    4) Eat only in kitchen or dining room.
    5) wipe sinks nightly to deprive roaches a water source
    Dust => D-Fense Dust (~$19) with Harris Diatomaceous powder duster (~$8.50)
    => fill only halfway. => puff into any/all cracks & crevices.
    => keep out of reach of kids/pets
    => dust before baiting to avoid contaminating the bait.
    => puff just a small bit per puff
    Liquid pesticide => baseboards (those "covers" at the top+bottom of the walls)
    => Temprid Fx 240 ml (~$60)
    => Mix in 1 gallon garden sprayer (~$20) (Follow directions). Few pumps for light spray.
    => Treat all baseboards throughout home
    Bait => best placed at cockroach activity
    => Maxforce Impact Roach Gel Bait (~$30) for 4 tubes.
    => IMPORTANT: change bait perioidically to avoid resistance.
    => place small dots about 12 inches apart near activity (appliances, range hoods, cabinet hinges,
    space between appliances and cabinets, inside of drawers, perimeter of outlets, pipes under sinks,
    post-its behind electronics
    Insect growth regulator => Gentrol (~$40). Break off disks, place near activity, out of reach of kids/pets.
    Insecticide => Nibor-D (~$54)
    = mop hard surfaces mixed with water (leaves residual insecticide when it dries)
    = also fill spray bottle, spray lightly on carpeting.
    = use everytime you mop, until infestation is gone.
    = might have to re-apply in the future if it's ever taken off.

    Phase 2 (Assume weeks for whole house, plus 12 months for bait/Gentrol changing every 90 days, and any time for re-applying Nibor-D):
    (Phase 2 cost: ~$282.50 if using Killz + ceiling paint; ~$217.5 if not)
    Boractin => 1lb (~$24) => Use another $8.50 powder duster with this, mark with sharpie to know which is which.
    => Use in all hollow spaces (wall voids, ceilings, hollow doors, inside attics around pipes, cabinets,
    appliances, furniture, outlets, etc). Out of reach of kids/pets.
    -Wall voids: @53:21
    -Stud finder (~$28). @54:03
    -Also see note @55:54 regarding kind of walls and baseboards
    -Spackling @56:32. Spackling compound (~$10), broad knives (~$20 for 2), big sponge (~$7)
    -@57:27 getting sample for paint matching
    -Doors @1:03:22
    -Outlet covers @1:04:57
    -Furniture: Puff boractin anywhere you can, all voids. Flip over to get bottom also. Make small slits out of sight if necessary.
    -Nibor-D: with same garden sprayer as before, LIGHTLY spray entire attic.
    -Killz Interior Primer (~$45, optional, mainly if Nibor-D leaves wet stains). Paint with paint brush,
    cover with white ceiling paint (~$20, optional)
    Nibor-D in spray-bottle =>
    -Walls/floors cabinets, pipes under base cabinets, underside of sink
    -Spray drawers, remove, spray under countertops, treat outsides of drawers too.
    -Spray appliances, cabinets, remove/protect food/food-handling equipment.
    -Avoid food prep spaces, wash off with soap and water if they're sprayed.
    -Spray near countertop splash guards and wall by sink.
    -Spray anywhere and everywhere you can (chairs, dressers, mirrors, picture frames, book shelves, fan blades, toilet, vanity,
    medicine cabinet)
    -Spray cloth to carefully wipe electronics
    *When using on carpets, either apply nightly and vacuum in morning, or spray carpeting around 4 inches from wall and furniture.
    *Also, be mindful of possible skin irritation, and don't ingest it.
    Bait => Like before, use Maxforce Gel (~$30 x 4, or ~$120 for whole year)
    Gentrol => Again, use like before.
    REMEMBER: replace with different bait, and replace Gentrol every 90 days, for 1 year.

    This is perhaps the 10th time I'm watching this.
    Prior to finding you, i had done my own pest control in a quadplex. Did the holes in the walls... everything except nibor d, which I'm now invested in.
    I sometimes see what i believe are straggler roaches. They come over to die, from other units.
    The unit across from me was really really bad. Seemed like roaches came out of nowhere after deep cleaning. . So i did your advice, over there, and is much better now.
    Still got the rest of building to permanently treat.
    Anyways. Thank you for sharing. Am interested in a bedbug video as i cannot see or find them but others have.

      Thank you so much for those kind words. Very much appreciated. I do not have a video on bed bugs, but Solutions Pest and Lawn has a pretty good one. The procedure they show you in the video is very good. The only thing is that you need to be more thorough than they suggested in the video. I recommend doing this treatment in all the rooms and not just the bedrooms. Bed bugs can be in your living room as well, and even your dining room. So, you should be treating all the furniture. You should also vacuum and treat all the floors, and you should treat all the base boards as well. Also, after vacuuming everything but the floor, you can use a steamer to treat hiding places. The steam will immediately kill bed bugs. Get a good one that is used for cleaning and not for getting wrinkles out of clothes. The key to getting rid of bed bugs is to be thorough and treat absolutely everything.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    Hello back again, started using DE all around the house back in October 2023. We still have roaches but they are dying out. My tenants moved out December 1st, so I am looking forward to making the holes in the walls because they are definitely in there. I do wanna say I did purchase 2 of the chemicals you suggested. But since DE is more economical, I’m trying to use it until i don’t see anything for a long time. And clean up and then use the chemicals. Wish me luck, will report back.

      I have never used DE, but I suspect that it can work. The key is still to be thorough. Leave no stone unturned. Also, using the Gentrol IGR disks is a must, especially under appliances and near all electronics. It is very difficult to defeat German roaches without the disks. You can mix DE with water and use it instead of the Nibor-D, but I have never tried it and I don't know the dilution rate. So you would be experimenting with it, which means the results would be unknown. Boric acid and Nibor-D are more expensive, but it's a sure thing. Good luck with it. Please let me know how it goes. Be well Julie.

    So glad to have found you!!! I purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's, and a stove. The moment that they delivered the refrigerator to my home from the warehouse, is the moment that the German roach infestation started. I found this out from Terminix after trying so hard to figure out where they came from and called them to get rid of them! That was almost three years ago, really expensive, and no disrespect to Terminix but their treatment did not work. I am going to use this video to try and end this nightmare that I have been going through all of this time. I will comment again after I use your advice!!! Thanks Guy!!!

      I'm so sorry this happened to you. The truth is there aren't any pest control companies that know how to eliminate a German cockroach infestation. We were all taught in pest control school that it is impossible, and the best you can hope for is to keep the situation under control. So, pest controllers will generally keep the population down quite a bit for some time, but eventually the roaches win. That is because they will become resistant to the pesticides and baits that are used by the pest controller. This does not happen with my system because I utilize products in phase two that the roaches cannot become resistant to. Also, you will be placing these products every place a cockroach could possibly place its foot. Therefore, after you treat, it will be impossible for a cockroach to survive in that environment. These products are perfectly safe for people and pets, so have no fear about that. Please let me know if you live in a multi-family building, such as a condo, townhome, or an apartment. The treatment is a little bit different this situation. Please let me know if you have any questions. Be well Pam.

      Thank you so much for watching. I used to get a lot of grief from pest control companies, but now they have discovered that my system really works, so more and more companies are starting to adopt this procedure. None of them knew about it prior to this video because I developed this process myself. Prior to this, pest controllers were never able to eliminate a German roach problem. They just kept coming back to try and control it. They didn't know that it was even possible to eliminate German roaches. It will take a few years for everyone in the industry to catch on, but this will most likely become the industry standard over time. There is already one national company that is looking into it. So, there is hope. I am so happy that you don't have this problem. German roaches are a nightmare. Be well my friend.

    Sir, I just wanted to say thank you. I’m sure this knowledge has served you well in your career many times over and this is one of those types of things that really show the power and significance of UA-cam. You’ve provided a thorough, logical path forward (I’ve been taking notes as I listen) and I’m actually slightly excited that I’m now able to move forward to approach my problem with confidence - the bluntness of seeing a few scurry in the middle of the day now meaning I have millions was a slap of truth that I needed - like many others, I have searched for ‘if I see one roach is it an infestation?’ No need for downplaying or underserving my situation now that I have a plan. Kudos and thank you so much.

      Thank you so much for those kind words. Very much appreciated. You know, I have found over the years that half the battle is realizing just how bad the problem really is. It's interesting how we try to convince ourselves that problems aren't that bad, even though there is that little voice in our heads that are trying to tell us the truth. We do it all the time with health issues too. Right? You know, you tell yourself that the little lump that is growing on the back of your neck is probably nothing and you ignore it until it's a big lump. I think it's just human nature. I'm sure doctors see it all the time with cancer, and I see it all the time with German roaches. I wish I had a dime for every person that told me they had a minor problem with German roaches and their infestation was not too bad. They all say the same thing. "I'm only seeing a couple every day." So, please don't feel bad if you found yourself doing the same thing. You are in good company. At least you took the time to educate yourself. I have seen many cases where people waited so long that the roaches were in bed with them and crawling all over the couch, and they still refused to believe that it was serious. They just went on living with these things. How gross is that? You are a very smart man Dean. You also did something else that was super smart. You took the time to take notes. Lots of folks just try to fast play the video or skip through the parts they don't think are important. Everything in the video is there for a reason and that is why it is so long. If you want to succeed, then you must do it correctly. I think one person in a thousand takes the time to really learn this stuff, but it is the key to success. Please let me know if you live in an apartment or other multi-unit building because they get treated a little differently. For example, you can't drill the walls in a rental unit. Also, please feel free to ask all the questions you like. I am always here to help.
      Be well my friend.

    Guy, let me start by saying a HUGE THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge and decades of experience.
    We recently bought a house in Miami. It is a moderately large home 2800 sq feet with an attached "garage" that had been converted into an efficiency unit (bathroom shower & sink and kitchenette). Finding a few dead cockroaches of various sizes in the "garage" was the last thing I wanted to see, however, I understand that I live in South Florida, and these pests are everywhere.
    Of course I "freaked out", imagining the look on my wife's face when I told her what I had found.
    I knew I needed to learn how to take care of this problem and protect from future problems with pests BEFORE moving in. Fortunately, we had not moved anything into the house and it was almost completely empty of the previous owner's belongings.
    After searching UA-cam, I found your channel. The amount of time you put into your videos and the way you explain exactly what to do was enough for me to subscribe and start the process of learning from your videos. I watched the videos on German Cockroach Extermination, General Perimeter Defense, Dry Wood Termite Prevention, and Mosquito Control multiple times. I took notes, purchased ALL of the products you recommended, and then realized (lol) that the dead roaches I found in the "garage" were Palmetto Bugs (American Cockroaches), fortunately, NOT German Cockroaches.
    In your video, it says, if you do not have German Cockroaches, you can stop watching this video.
    Despite identifying these dead roaches as "American", a few days later found live roaches near the "garage" kitchenette, and later, a few live roaches of various sizes in the main house in the kitchen. Uh oh, serious problem?!
    I figured if your German Cockroach strategy was good enough for them, it should work on these guys. I immediately got to work... deep cleaned the entire home, removing everything from the "garage" (including a large grease-caked range stove that was left behind) and fully completing your "Phase 1 Knockdown" in the "Garage" and kitchen in the main house which share walls.
    In addition to FULLY completing Phase 1 in the "garage" and kitchen, I decided to ALSO dust ALL of the light switches, electrical outlets and any wall openings throughout the house with D-Fense and spray ALL of the baseboards with Temprid. I did not bait or place IGR pods in every room (just the kitchen & "garage").
    Then, I moved outside and completed your "Perimeter Defense" strategy for the entire outside of the home, Taurus SC for above (dry termites - no evidence of them), and Taurus SC for the walls, voids, cracks, crevices, base, and 2 foot wide ground perimeter as you suggested. Finally, I sprayed the ENTIRE yard (front, back, sides) for mosquitoes with Talstar Pro. Learning how to assemble my My4Sons battery-powered backpack sprayer and mix all the pesticides took quite a bit of time, but now, I know how to do it. All of our pest control supplies are now clearly labeled and organized in an outdoor storage shed for future periodic pest control. This process took all day but was definitely worth it.
    The next morning when I returned to the house at 4am I found dead 7 American cockroaches of various sizes in the "garage" and kitchen. I also found 3 dead & 1 dying roach in the hallway that leads to the bedrooms and 1 dead roach in my daughter's room (aaaaaaarghhhh!) All American roaches. All dead or dying. The following day, twice as many, the third day only a few. In the days that followed, I would occasionally find one or two dead American roaches of various sizes in various areas throughout the house, including the master bathroom shower, and again, the kitchen and "garage".
    About a week later I started (not completed) Phase 2 in the "garage", kitchen, and rooms flanking the kitchen. I drilled holes, dusted ALL the wall voids in these rooms, removed and inspected appliances, and sprayed every conceivable surface with Nibor D. I did not spray the attic spaces.
    It has been 2 weeks since I completed Phase 1. We have moved in.
    Every evening when I am outside in the backyard there are NO BUGS. Not one.
    No mosquitoes, no flying insects, no bugs crawling on the wall, no spiders.
    It is wonderful!
    I found a live American Cockroach high on the wall in the "garage" this morning. I killed it with Raid and re-sprayed all of the walls, base boards, and crown molding with Nibor D (just took about 10 minutes bc I was organized and ready to go).
    Although my wife thinks I am crazy, I believe my efforts were worthwhile. I could not have done this without your advice. I have piece of mind now, and I am armed with knowledge and the proper tools & supplies to DIY.
    Now that I have explained WHAT I did and what happened, I have a couple of broad questions, if you don't mind answering them?
    1) Have I done enough? Should I complete Phase 2 in the attic spaces, spraying with Nibor D, and dusting ALL of the wall voids throughout the house with Boractin?
    2) Given that I live in Miami, are there any other areas of pest control that I am missing?
    I plan to complete perimeter defense with Taurus every 6 months and mosquito control with Talstar Pro every 3 months.
    THANK YOU GUY, FOR EVERYTHING!!
    Wishing you a Very Happy New Year
    dave

      Thank you so much for those kind words. Very much appreciated.
      It sounds like you are doing the great job, but I would like to suggest just a couple of modifications that will make your job a bit easier.
      Let me start with the lawn treatment. What I explained in the mosquito video is all spot on correct, but I found a better sprayer than what is depicted in the video, and I found a better product as well. The problem that I had with the sprayer in the video is that it kept coming apart. Of course, I have owned that sprayer for quite some time, so they may have fixed that problem by now. However, if you are having that problem with the sprayer, then I would like to suggest a different one. The new one that I am recommending also has a stream setting that will allow you to reach heights of 20 feet. The new product that I am recommending instead of Talstar P, is Bifen XTS. It uses the same active ingredient, but it gets mixed at 1/3 oz per gallon, instead of 1 oz per gallon. In the video I recommended mixing it at half strength, and that is fine for just mosquitoes, but if you would like to kill a whole bunch of other pests as well, including ants, American cockroaches, earwigs, spiders, and just about everything else imaginable, then it's best to mix it full strength. Since the Bifen XTS gets mixed at 1/3 oz per gallon of water, instead of 1 oz per gallon, it goes three times as far, with the same results. The best part is that it works way better in the hose and sprayers because it is super thin. The Talstar P is kind of thick, but the Bifen XTS has a viscosity like water, so it works way better. The Bifen XTS is a lot more expensive per gallon of concentrate, but since you only use 1/3 of the product, it goes three times as far, and actually costs less per finished gallon, making it the least expensive option for exterior pest control. I have a new video on how to use this product and the advantages of the new sprayer.
      Next, I would like to talk about treating the exterior of the house. I want to talk about doing something that you are not supposed to do. So, since you are not supposed to do it, I must give you the legal disclaimer that you should always follow label directions, but I can tell you that I know of at least one retired pest controller that does it all the time, and it does no harm to him or the environment. It is just not consistent with label directions. The reason is that you would be applying more product than the label allows. Again, it doesn't hurt anything, but you should be aware that you're not supposed to do it. So, it's your decision if you do it or not. Now that I have given you the disclaimer, let me tell you what I'm talking about. This old timer pest controller that I mentioned uses that same hose end sprayer and the Bifen XTS to treat the exterior of his house. Doing it this way is three times faster than using a tank sprayer and it does a more effective job. This pest controller treats both his entire yard and the exterior of the house every two months with Bifen XTS. This is super-fast to do and will render a house totally pest free. It also does a wonderful job preventing drywood termites, so no need to use the Taurus SC anymore. The stream setting on the sprayer allows him to reach the fascia boards and eaves in high places, without the use of a ladder. So, watch that new video and see what you think. The link is below.
      Now, let's talk about those roaches. I am not convinced that you have German cockroaches. The only species of roaches that you must go nuclear on are Germans. American cockroaches typically do not infest houses. While it can happen, these guys are pretty much an outside roach, and they do not survive well in homes. Therefore, if you treat the lawn and the exterior of the house, that will usually solve the problem, with no treatment necessary inside the house whatsoever. However, if you are still seeing cockroaches inside the house two or three weeks after doing the outside treatment, then you either have an infestation of American roaches inside the house, or you have a different species. Even if you have a different species, that does not mean they are German roaches. Before you start drilling holes in all the walls, I would encourage you to take photos of some of the roaches and send them to me for identification. To properly identify them, you need to have the photos very well in focus, and you need to get as close as you can to the roach, without getting out of focus. If your camera has a macro mode, then I recommend using it. Take one photo with the roach's feet on the ground, so that I can clearly see the back of the roach and the head. Then, flip this guy on his back and take a photo with the feet up. If you think you are dealing with more than one species, then send me photos of each species that you are seeing. I will let you know if any of these photos are German cockroaches. If they are not German cockroaches, then the phase one treatment will usually do the job for all other species. Since you have already done the phase one treatment, then you should not be seeing any more activity at this point, so it could be that these are German cockroaches. Again, it's best to make sure before you start drilling holes in all the walls. You can send photos to guyspestsolutions@gmail.com. Please remind me who you are when you send the e-mail. As you can imagine, I receive a lot of e-mail about German cockroaches, so it's easy to get people mixed up. Just let me know that you wrote to me in the comments section and let me know your UA-cam name.
      I hope you have a happy new year as well. Be well my friend.

      @@djoyce777 Those were great photos and they made it easy to identify the species. These are Oriental roaches, and they are easy to get rid of. They are mostly an outside roach and they like a lot of water. They can infest a home, but phase one will get rid of them. Doing the exterior treatment every two or three months will prevent them getting back in the house and it will keep the population way down. I am very happy that these are not Germans. Time to go into your happy dance. Lol.

Just wanted to share an update that after completing phase 1 a few weeks ago we are no longer seeing any more roaches! The sad and almost unbelievable truth is that pest controllers do not know how to get rid of German cockroaches. I do have some pest controllers who tell me they are adopting this treatment methodology, but there are not many of them. It is going to take a long time before this treatment methodology becomes standard industry practice. So for now, this is something you need to do yourself. Update: my husband and I did this to our apartment when we got married last February… haven’t seen a roach in over 8 months and we live in a 30 unit apartment. We had it bad and after we evicted them from our unit the leasing company had the exterminator over monthly to other units. We have so much product left 😅 would have offered services to the leasing company but we didn’t want them to know we drilled dozens of holes in the walls haha. This is the best advice I found on UA-cam.. trust the process!

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  6 місяців тому +2

      Congratulations on your marriage and your success on getting control over the roaches. Well done on both. Since you live in an apartment, there is no doubt that there are roaches in the adjoining apartments, and they may stop by to pay you a visit from time to time. However, if you keep phase two in place, then the new roaches will have no choice but to cross the barrier that you created and they will die before they can start another infestation in your apartment. Even if a female drops an egg sack in your apartment, the nymphs will die before they can mature into adulthood. The new roaches will probably hide as soon as they arrive, so you may never see another roach again. If you do, then they won't live long. It sounds like you did a wonderful job. I know this is a lot of work, so you can both pat yourselves on the back for sticking with it and doing a good job. Thank you so much for the feedback and for your very kind words. Be well Sara.

    I just wanted to post on this video to say THANK YOU. We are 3 weeks into fighting these little bastards on our own. We initally had pest control come in but all they did was put advion in our kitchen and bathrooms and that was it. They went down in number after 2 weeks, but they had spread throughout our house during that time.
    After doing the other steps of Nibor-D and Gentrol, we are now getting to the point where we see maybe one a day. Even during the night time, which is wild.
    When we first started, you couldnt go anywhere in our kitchen or mainfloor without seeing them anywhere. We arent fully out of the issue, but i can now see a light at the end of the tunnel so i know when we start phase 2, we will get rid of them for good.
    For anyone out there whos reading this, follow this mans tips here. It gets worse before it gets better, but it does get better especially if you follow what he says. Nibor-D was a HUGE game changer for us. Within a week of putting that on our floors, we started seeing less and less much faster.

      Thank you so much for those kind words. These products are perfectly safe for the kids and pets after they have dried. The Nibor-D can cause some skin irritation if the kids or pets play on a carpet that was treated with it. Should that occur, just shampoo the carpet and then spray Nibor-D around and under the furniture and around the perimeter of the room about 12 inches. Be careful when you visit your sister. These guys are hitchhikers and can get on you very easily. You don't want to bring any home with you. It happens all the time and it's one of the main reasons why these guys spread so easily.

    Hey Guy, I have three questions about mopping my hard surfaces with Nibor-D:
    1. I have five dogs that will lick the floor frequently. Will mopping with this product harm them or make them sick?
    2. How often should I mop with Nibor-D?
    3. Should I use only water and Nibor-D or can I mix in my usual mopping solution in there? (I typically use a Mr. Clean product.)

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Місяць тому +2

      I probably would not apply the Nibor-D where the dogs are licking the floor. If need be, just mop a 12-inch band around all the walls and apply it under and around all furniture. Leave at least a 6-inch band around furniture.
      You need to apply the Nibor-D every time you mop the floor. It's best to apply Nibor-D without mixing it with detergent, but it may still work if you mix it with Mr. Clean.
      By the way, I will be out of town for a couple of weeks, so I may not be able to answer additional questions until after I get back. Don't worry though. If you have follow-up questions, I will answer them upon my return. I'm sure I'll have a good deal of questions waiting for me, so please be patient. I will work through them one at a time. Hopefully it will only take me a week to get caught up. I promise that I will get back to you if you have additional questions, albeit a little slower than usual. Hi Robert. The term "water bug" is kind of a slang term that usually refers to one three species of roaches. Most of the time, what people are referring to are American cockroaches, but not always. If the problem is American cockroaches, then you are in luck because these things prefer to be outside. They typically come into the house because they do not like the climate conditions outside. So, if you do a proper exterior treatment every three months, then that usually solves the problem. However, American roaches can sometimes infest a home. If they do, they are nowhere near as bad as German cockroaches and they typically limit themselves to bathrooms and kitchens. So, the first thing that you should do is that exterior treatment and see if that solves the problem. Most of the time that will do the trick. If not, then just do that quick knockdown treatment that is in the bathrooms that is in the video and you can probably get away with just the kitchen and the bathroom. Most of the time you don't find these guys far from the floor, but I have seen them on the top of cabinets. Unlike German roaches, their American cousins are fairly easy to get rid of. I will place a link below for the exterior treatment. Thanks for watching the entire video. I think you deserve some sort of medal for doing that. I would not be surprised if it's not the longest how to video ever done on UA-cam. By the way, I need to go in for surgery this morning, so I may not be able to answer questions for a couple of days due to recovery. I'm just trying to get in a couple of questions before I go in. Be well my friend.

    How would the drilling apply to exterior walls and insulation? Wouldn't it just dust the spot of the insulation given it has no room to fall and disperse inside the wall?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Місяць тому +2

      You need to drill the hole at a steep downward angle and it's best to use an electric duster. They are expensive, so I did not include that in the video. However, I figured out a way to make a cheap duster out of a $40 shop vac. Fill it halfway with dust and run it for about 2 minutes in each hole. That should give those insulated walls a good dusting. The reducer attachment does not put out a lot of dust, so it takes a couple of minutes to do a good job. Make sure that the inside of the vacuum is bone dry, and the dust is really dry as well. You don't want any clumps in it either.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      Nibor-D will only kill insects that clean themselves. Not all insects do that and spiders are not insects at all. Nibor-D works great for roaches, but it would be overkill for any other pest. Most pests can be prevented by treating the outside of the house. I will give you a link to my video on how to do that. This will prevent all of the pests you mentioned, including outside roaches that enter the house. It will not prevent German roaches. If there are ants inside, then watch my video on that as well. • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Рік тому +1

      @@brentrobinson6164 The best you can do is to wash everything really well before you begin the treatment. Be sure to remove all fecal matter from around outlets, switches, under the sinks, and so forth. The smell probably is not coming out of the wall, but you should caulk all cracks and crevices after phase two is completed. The odor can only come out if there are openings. Outlets can be sealed with plumbers putty. Just mold it around the outlet and press it into place. The excess will squeeze out and is easily wiped off without staining. It does not harden, so the cover is easily removed for servicing. Plumbers putty can also be used to seal other cracks and crevices as well. You will find it in the plumbing section of Lowes or Home Depot.

You can't imagine the amount stress and sadness this problem has brought us. I have called and emailed my landlord so many times and they always send someone that just sprays the kitchen baseboards and bathrooms and leaves. The roaches are so many that when I turn on the light at night they just scurry around. I have never had any problems with roaches until moving in this apartment. The whole neighbors have this shit. I don't bring my friends over because I don't want them to carry it to their houses. I also make sure to check my bags and clothes when going out, I freaking never wish this on my worst enemy. I am tired.

      I am so sorry that you are having this problem. Unfortunately, you cannot simply use the Temprid FX and the boric acid. If you have any hope dealing with this situation, you need to do all of the treatment methods that are outlined in the video, exactly as I show you how to do it. There are no shortcuts here. The only part of the treatment that you cannot do is drill holes in the wall. Landlords tend to frown on that.
      Since you live in an apartment, then you are going to have the problem that cockroaches from other apartments are going to continuously enter your apartment. However, if you treat virtually every surface in the entire apartment, with either boric acid or Nibor-D, then there will be no place that a cockroach and go where they will not contact one of these materials. That means any roaches that enter your apartment are going to die within a few days, so you may never see another cockroach again, if you do this treatment properly. Apply the boric acid every place where it will not be disturbed by people, pets, or air currents. Everyplace else it must be sprayed with Nibor-D, unless it will be damaged by water. Mop all floors with Nibor-D. Spray the carpets with it as well. Nibor-D should be mixed 2.5 cups per gallon of water for mopping and 7.5 cups per gallon of water for spraying.
      The Temprid FX should only be used in the kitchen and maybe the bathrooms. For all other baseboards, you should spray them with Nibor-D and then puff boric acid under them. It must be done in that order. Do this to the kitchen and bathrooms 30 to 60 days after you treat with the Temprid FX.
      I recommend that you watch phase one of my video several times to be sure that you understand exactly how to do it. After you finish phase one, then watch phase two of my video several times to be sure that you know exactly how to do that as well. I cannot stress enough how important it is to do this procedure correctly. That is the only way it is going to work.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    Alright, so I’ve been going through this process and some more questions have popped up. I have found that most days I cannot use all the mixed Nibor D solution on the same day, and I’m only able to completely finish the solution over the next day or two. Am I making a big mistake by leaving some mixed solution in my garden sprayer over a 24-48 hour period before I completely use it up? Will the Nibor D lose its effectiveness if it’s sitting for that long in the sprayer before being sprayed? Also, I got a drop of Nibor D solution in my eye but immediately rinsed it with water, is there any cause for concern? Thanks again, Guy!

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  11 місяців тому +3

      The Nibor-D is a wettable powder, so it's probably okay to leave it in the sprayer overnight or maybe even longer, but it may clog the sprayer. Also, you need to shake it up prior to using it again. I always just mix what I plan to use for the day. I don't think you need to worry about getting a drop in your eye. You should always wear eye protection though when working with all chemicals, even window cleaner. It's not a good idea to get anything in your eye that doesn't belong there. Be well my friend.

    Hi...I'm in South Africa. Whenever I treat wall cracks and crevices, I usually spray Alphathrin around these crevices, then flush the roached of of them by spraying NuPro spray into the crevices (so the roaches go bezerk and run into the Alphathrin solution that was sprayed around the crevices...which kills them). In the kitchen, all dishes, pots and anything else in the cupboards are removed before the same process is done...drawers are also removed and treated during this process. Glue boards are left in certain spaces for monitoring.
    When I return for the second visit - between 2-3 weeks - I usually repeat this process when treating the cracks and crevices (for any potential hatchlings or stragglers from the previous appointment). Note: Here I use Bombex as the concentrate in my sprayer because it is a residual spray. Thereafter, I puff Permadust into the cracks and crevices before I seal them with either a crack filler, silicone or pur foam - depending on which would be best suitable. For cupboards and drawers, this (visit) is when I apply gel bait.
    I think I'm doing this process well...but maybe self-doubt has payed me a visit (even though I haven't had any complaints. Haha).
    Is there anything you feel I need to look into with my process? Words of advice?

      @GuysPestSolutions  11 місяців тому

      Always nice to hear from a fellow pest controller. Thank you so much for reaching out to me. I can offer a couple of suggestions if you don't mind. The most important thing to understand when you're getting rid of German cockroaches is that they are living in the walls. The other thing it is important to understand is that you only see a small portion of them. The majority of them stay hidden, and they are not necessarily in the cracks and crevices that you are treating. Treating those cracks and crevices may keep them away for a while because the roaches that are in the walls and other voids that you have not treated, may need to come out through those same openings, and the pesticide you applied is likely to kill them. The problem is though that this is most likely not going to end the infestation. Moreover, it is possible for the roaches to become resistant to those materials. Therefore, I recommend that you treat those cracks and crevices with boric acid. This is a slow kill product, but it virtually lasts forever. If you like, you can do your normal treatment, and then follow up with the boric acid dust. Since the cockroaches are living in the walls, you need to drill into those walls wherever there is a void, and blow boric acid dust there as well. After something has been treated with boric acid, the cockroaches can no longer survive in that environment. Since cockroaches travel across surfaces, I also recommend that you treat as many surfaces as you can. It is always a good idea to use a borate product or diatomaceous earth mixed with water, and spray it inside all the kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, and such as that. I remove the cabinet drawers and I treat all surfaces under the countertop. If the roaches are problematic in other rooms, which is quite common, then you also need to treat dressers, beds, and all of that sort of thing the same way. It is also a very good idea to puff boric acid under all the baseboards. The idea is that you want to create a borate barrier every place where a cockroach can possibly place its foot. If you can obtain Gentrol IGR disks where you are, I highly recommend that you use them. The roaches do not need to make contact with them for them to be effective. You can place them under appliances, such as refrigerators, and around electronics that you cannot treat with pesticides. It takes a long time for the discs to work, so you need to replace them every 90 days for an entire year. However, there is no escaping them. This will take out the cockroaches that are in the motor of the refrigerator and inside electronics, such as TVs and computers. I realize that what I am suggesting is expensive. At the same time, if you follow all the recommendations in my video, you can completely eliminate 100% of the roaches in a building. Most people are not going to want to pay for this service, and that is why I usually target businesses. Restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and those sorts of places will often pay big money if you can totally eradicate a cockroach infestation. Since most homeowners probably do not want to pay for having the walls drilled and all that sort of thing, you could use a modified version of this treatment for them, but the client needs to understand that the cockroaches are inside the walls. If you do not bring the pesticide to them, you will never end the infestation. I would like you to watch a short video that was done by Animal Planet. It is only about 4 minutes long, and it does an excellent job explaining the problem. They do not offer any solutions, but they do a wonderful job explaining how the roaches operate. It is well worth watching.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend, and thank you so much for watching my video.

Your story about the F.D. hosing down roaches reminded me of how we would duct tape our boots to the bottom of our bunker pants to keep the roaches from runn>g up your legs while your crawling around in the dark. We'd check each other out when we come out of a fire and shake your gear to get them off of you before getting on the truck. Hi again, I have a couple more questions…
    I sprayed my wood furniture with a mixture of 2 1/2 cups of Nibor-D per gallon of water, but in another comment, I saw you said to use 7 1/2 cups for spraying. Did I apply the Nibor-D incorrectly?
    Also, I didn’t mop right up to the baseboards with Nibor-D yet, because the pest control company sprayed there a couple of weeks ago. (Not sure what they used, but they said it was powerful.) Is it OK to put Nibor-D on top of the pesticide? I don’t want to wash anything away, since pest control won’t be back to spray for a while.
    Thank you in advance!

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  7 місяців тому +3

      The Nibor-D should be mixed at 2.5 cups per gallon of water for mopping and spraying carpets. For all other spraying it should be mixed at 7.5 cups per gallon of water. Mix only what you are going to use right away. For small spraying jobs, you can mix 1 cup per 16 ounces of water. It's hard to get the powder in a hand sprayer, so mix it in a small bucket and pour it into the sprayer. You can also apply it with a sponge or a rag. The furniture you treated will probably be okay. 2.5 cups per gallon looks a lot better than 7.5 cups per gallon, but it is not going to work as well. It should still work though.
      You do need to mop right up to the baseboards and on top of the baseboards with Nibor-D. Don't worry about the pesticide that the pest controller applied already. You can go right over the top of it. The truth is, you probably don't want that pest controller doing any more treatments. You are not going to mess up his treatment, but he is going to mess up yours. If he applies something over the top of the Nibor-D, then you need to reapply the Nibor-D right over the top of anything he used. I don't know what the pest controller used, but there is a good chance that he is doing it wrong, so do not rely one pest controllers. I know that sounds crazy, but it's the truth. After watching my video, you now know more about German roaches than he does. If he did not already do everything in my video, then he doesn't know how to eliminate a German cockroach infestation. Therefore, I would not trust what he is doing. You are way better off just handling this yourself.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    I've lived with German Cockroaches....once...and it was enough. It was a 1930's apartment complex, the structure had become 'porous'. The garage was underground, under the building. We could tell the year of the cars by the smell of their exhaust. After several months, the owner changed his pest control provider and they vanished. Gone. I visited a complex (Dayton, OH county housing) where the buildings were interconnected by underground tunnels. The roaches came out during the day. They mentioned the tunnels, I was curious and asked to see them. They indicated that I didn't. Opened the door to the stairway down & turned on the lights. 1) the roaches, dozens of species 2) covered the stairs, walls, & ceilings and 3) didn't scatter. My curiosity was satisfied. Ugh.

    A lot of good information in this video. I learned of a product many years ago on the Paul Harvey show called Roach Prufe. I later learned that plain Boric acid placed all over your house in places that are discreet like behind stoves, refrigerators under sinks etc. then keep a clean house and you will never have another roach in at least 40 years. The only pests that I have problems with are ants, mostly outside. They do however come in during the winter when it first gets cold.

    Thank you sooooooooooooo much for this video Sir. I live in an enclosed, older complex made from featherlight concrete and steel with a cinderblock wall between each apartment unit, so I won't be able to drill in those walls --as they have asked us to not do that, but I can treat the baseboards since there is a large gap under the vinyl at the foot. The Owners just completed refurbishing the entire building without properly treating for bugs as they gutted each apartment. It is likely they didn't know. I will be giving them your video and information. They then moved people from the filthy side of the building over to our side where we never had roaches of any kind. My immediate neighbor is the culprit, and not purposely of course. I see occasional Chinese and Americans, but as you said... those are easy and primarily stay outside. There are cracks in the ceiling between the slabs of Featherlight and roaches have come through there before (Has a horror story about that experience). How would you suggest I treat the seams between slabs? I plan to seal them with caulk shortly after. I can lift up the vinyl baseboard and treat under at the base of the cinderblock walls and do the proper drilling on any of the sheetrock walls. The ceiling in the bathroom is sheetrock and has a void, so that is easy. My Son just bought me everything I need to do this, Bless Him.. I am supremely grateful for your knowledge, and years of experience, and will also be passing this on to the owners of the building. One thing you didn't mention earlier directly, is windows. If a sheet rock wall, be sure to drill and treat both above and below as he specifies for walls.
    And concerning the person farther down who commented about the 26 minute sell on the method. I understand why you did this Sir. It's costly, time consuming, and you really want folks to know and understand that you know your stuff and are sincerely certain this works after a lifetime of experience in the trade. For those of you who are already, ready.. Just move to around 26 minutes in and if anything, go back and review the intro later..
    Once again Dear Sir... *Bows Politely* I cannot express the Depth, and Breadth of my gratitude for what you have given to me, and us.
    Bless you from the bottom of my heart. You are saving my sanity, and my apartment from infestation.. Bless you... Bless you... Bless you....

      Thank you so much for those kind words. Very much appreciated.
      Any cracks or crevices on the floor can be treated with boric acid. For cracks and crevices that will not permit treatment with a dust, because gravity will cause it to fall, then you can treat it with a new product that was not available when I made this video. The manufacturer of Nibor-D now has a foam available, so you can treat those cracks and crevices that are in the ceilings and walls. The foam is a little pricey, but it's better than living with cockroaches. Just shoot the foam into and along the cracks and crevices. The foam expands to several times its size, and it will get into some very tight places that liquids cannot reach. After the foam dries, then you can go ahead and seal those cracks and crevices. This should work for those seams between the slabs, if they cannot be treated with boric acid.
      All wall voids need to be treated, including above and below windows, and above doors as well.
      I understand that some people find the beginning of this video to be long and boring, but is extraordinarily important to listen to it carefully, because you cannot possibly hope to defeat German cockroaches, unless you understand how they operate. I cannot tell you how many questions I get from people who didn't bother to watch the beginning of the video. If they had watched, they would have understood the principles behind what they are doing. Treating German cockroaches is not like treating ants. It is important to understand that German cockroaches are arguably the most difficult insect in the entire world to treat. Almost nobody on the planet knows how to get it done effectively. The reason they fail is because they do not understand the biology of the organism. I understand that we live in a Tik Tok world where everybody wants the solution in 2 minutes or less, but this is not going to work for German cockroaches. Therefore, I would strongly urge everybody to watch the beginning of the video very carefully. If you miss that part, then you are much more likely to make mistakes that will lead to a treatment failure. Please trust me when I tell you that I don't mind at all when people criticize that the video was too long, that I talk too slow, or that I cover information that they don't think they need. One thing that all UA-camrs will tell you is that there are all sorts of people out there who fancy themselves as UA-cam critics. These folks do not create anything themselves, but they are more than happy to tell the rest of us how to do it. If you are going to make UA-cam videos, then you need to have some pretty thick skin. It's kind of like being in politics. If criticism bothers you, then this is not the game to begin. The truth is that you cannot please everybody. Happily for me, for everybody that criticizes the way I do it, there are many others who provide comments thanking me for the 6 months that it took me to create the video. It is literally the only video in the entire world that can show you how to eliminate a German cockroach infestation. So, my feelings never get hurt. I always find it interesting though that not one single person has ever made a comment that this treatment method failed them. That is really saying quite a lot, considering that the video has been watched almost a quarter of a million times. On the other hand, I do get comments thanking me because the treatment worked perfectly for those people. So, I think the proof is in the pudding. All of that being said, I am thinking about making a shorter version. This particular video was about the sixth one that I ever did, so I did not have the experience that I do now in making UA-cam videos. I think I am much better at it now, and I know ways to condense the information, and still make it effective for people. Hopefully, I should be able to do this video sometime next year. For now though, people are stuck with the options of spending 90 minutes to learn how to do it, or learn to live with cockroaches. Lol.
      Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help. Be well my friend.

The only other thing you can do is to puff boric acid dust into those cracks. Dusting vertical surfaces or over your head doesn't work as well because of gravity, but that's the way we used to do it. Thank you for responding to my comment in the previous video. Same day, too! I wasn't expecting that. Impressed! I have 3 cats and don't want to use Nibor-D. About a year ago we allowed "the bug guy" the condo HOA uses, who swore it was "all natural," to spray. It triggered an avalanche of health issues in all the cats, one of which had to be euthanized 3 weeks ago so now we just have 3 and not 4. As far as I can tell, diatomaceous earth would be safe for them (especially the food grade). One of the commentators below seem to have had good results with it. What is your opinion, and what would be the best way to apply it?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  8 місяців тому

      I have no idea what your pest controller used that would have that sort of an effect on the cats, unless he applied it while the cats were present. You should have all people and pets out of the rooms that are being treated, while they are being treated. Environmental Protection Agency regulations require that all pesticides be safe the children to play on after they dry. Therefore, none of the pesticides that the pest controller was using should have caused that problem. It is a very serious concern if that happened. Cats should not ingest boric acid, so you should not use boric acid to create a homemade bait, but it is perfectly safe to apply it in cracks and crevices and into wall voids. Using Nibor-D should have no effect on the cats either, but I would not apply it in areas where the cats like to lay down. I know they all have their favorite spots, so just avoid those.
      Like any dust, diatomaceous earth can create a respiratory hazard for people and pets. You can use it in place of boric acid, but it is not as safe, and I don't feel like it is quite as effective. It may be safer for the cats if they ingest it, but the key is not to let them ingest it. Dust should only be applied in areas that are not accessible to children or pets, and will not be disturbed by air currents. As long as you follow these rules, then all dusts should be safe for your cats. Therefore, I would stick with the boric acid.
      I hope that helps. Be well Linda.

    thank you for this video, I will definitely be doing my best effort to follow the steps exactly. My family has been dealing with German cockroaches for over 10 years. We have moved 3 times and they always end up following us wherever we go. We have hired professionals and tried other diy methods and still can't seem to get rid of them, it truly has impacted our quality of life so I'm excited to find a legit method that seems like it will work. My Question is towards what you said about treating one room at a time, so I say I start with my kitchen, Do I wait the whole year of doing phase 2 in the kitchen until I move on to the other areas in the home? and can you provide a link for an electric duster I could use for this? also I have a bottle of liquid tekko pro IGR would that work the same as the gentrol point source discs?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  24 дні тому +2

      I'm so sorry that you've been dealing with this for so long. The problem is that it is very easy to bring German cockroaches with you when you move. So, they will follow you wherever you go. I do have a procedure for that, but for now, let's focus on how to get rid of the ones that you have where you are currently living.
      You should do phase 1 in the kitchen and bathrooms first. You can also do it in any other rooms if you have a serious problem there. As soon as phase one is completed in those areas, then you should immediately start phase 2 in all the other rooms. I like to do one room at a time, but it is a good idea to mop all the floors with Nibor-D before you start. After you finish with phase 2 and the other areas, then you need to go over the phase 1 areas with phase 2. I usually wait at least 30 days before going over the phase 1 areas with phase 2. However, you should not wait any more than 90 days to do this.
      The Tekko IGR it's a very good product, but it is much more labor intensive than using the IGR discs. Keep in mind that an IGR needs to be applied every 90 days for an entire year. If you wish to use a liquid IGR, that will mean you would need to move the appliances, electronics, and all that sort of thing and retreat under and around them every 90 days. You would also need to reapply the Nibor-D. Of course, you can mix a liquid IGR with the. Nibor-D. So, this would be a time-consuming process. It is far easier to simply replace the IGR disks. I always write the date on them with a Sharpie.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    Can you mix nibor d and gentrol in the same solution for the walls? And how would you treat the hvac system? I have very large rooms and it takes a lot of the point source buttons. I put them on electronics. How should the ceilings be treated?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  11 місяців тому +2

      I suppose you could mix an IGR with the Nibor-D, but it would pretty much be a waste of money. In order for liquid IGRs to be effective, the roaches need to cross it. If the roaches cross the Nibor-D, they're going to die anyway. In fact, the Nibor-D is going to kill them way faster than the IGR. That is because the IGR only stops roaches from reproducing. It does nothing to kill them. The reason we use the IGR discs and not liquid is because the roaches do not need to come in contact with the discs for it to be effective. That is why you can simply slide one under the refrigerator and it will kill off the roaches that are hiding in the motor. This is a very slow process to be sure, but it does work over time. That is why I tell you that you need to do phase two for an entire year. Ceilings should be treated with Nibor-D.

      With regard to the HVAC system, there are a couple of ways to go about treating it. If you do see live roaches, then remove all the vents and look to see how far in the vent it runs. This is often difficult, because there is usually a 90-degree bend right where the vent is. So, most of the time, you cannot see very far. If the roaches do not seem to have any activity past the bend, then just spray the entire area inside the duct with Nibor-D. Shoot it as deep into the ducts as you can. After it dries, apply small dots of gel bait around the interior of the vent. The dots should be no larger than a pea, and you only want to use about four dots, spaced evenly apart. Put an IGR disc behind all of the vents inside the ductwork. You should also place one behind all the intakes as well, especially where the filter goes in.

      You also need to treat the air handler itself. Just open the access panels and treat all the surfaces with Nibor-D. You need to treat inside and outside of the unit. Make sure that you remove the filter and treat everything as far as you can with Nibor-D. Just as with major appliances, like refrigerators, you cannot spray water onto electrical components, so be careful not to shoot any of this material into the motor or other components that could be damaged by it. After the Nibor-D dries, apply pea size dots of gel bait at 12-inch intervals around the inside and outside of the entire unit. Finally, put a Gentrol IGR disk somewhere in the air handling unit. All of the IGR disks should be replaced every 90 days for an entire year.

      Give the process four weeks to work and then inspect again for roaches. If you are not seeing any activity, then you are finished. If you do see activity, then you need to go with the nuclear option.

      WARNING: This treatment can be dangerous, and it may result in a fire and damage to the air handling equipment, so proceed at your own risk. If the roaches are deep into the duct work, then you need to flush them out of there by using a pyrethrin fog. This material is not considered flammable, but it can burn at temperatures above 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore, make sure that you have the gas turned off or any heating elements turned off before you proceed. This is a water-based product, so this procedure may damage the electrical components of the air handler/furnace. So, this treatment should be regarded as a last resort. Obviously, there should be nobody in the building, except for the people doing the job. Make sure that there are no pets in the building either. All food should be put away or covered and all furniture should be covered as well.

      Before proceeding, make sure that you are wearing a long sleeve shirt, pants, goggles, a respirator, rubber gloves, and a hat. This is best done with two people. To do this procedure you are going to need a ULV fogger. Make sure that when you buy the fogger, it does say that it is ULV. You can purchase a good one from domyown.com, but Amazon has some listed for a lot less money. A good one costs about $250, but you can get a basic one for about $100 on Amazon. You also need to buy Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV concentrate. Just mix it according to label directions. Also, you should have a fire extinguisher available that is rated for electrical fires.

      Remove all the vents throughout the entire building, including the intake vents. Remove the HVAC filter. Make absolutely sure that the gas and/or heating elements are turned off. Turn on the HVAC blower so that air is running through the system. One person should operate the fogger and blow a continuous fog into the intake vents, one at a time. Most systems only have one intake vent, and that is usually where the filter is located. Some units have more than one intake vent, so make sure that you are treating them all, one by one. Always start with the main one first. Now that you have the system running, and one person is blowing fog into the intake vent, have a second person check each of the outlet vents to see when there is fog coming out of all of them. The idea is that you want fog going into or coming out of everything. This material is extremely irritating to the roaches and it is going to make them leave the ducts, so the person on the other end should be ready for this exodus. This is going to kill the majority of the roaches, but some of them are going to escape. That is why you must do a very thorough job with phase two before you begin this treatment. When the roaches exit the system, you want to make sure that they are going to have no choice but to cross the Nibor-D. After you are finished fogging, allow the air handler to run for at least 30 minutes before shutting it off. After the unit has turned off, wait at least two or three hours before going back into the building. Open all the windows and let the place air out really well. Remove the covers from the furniture and other items and wash all surfaces with soap and water that were not covered. Before turning the HVAC system back on, make sure that the pesticide is completely dry in the vents and the air handling unit.

      If the ducts were infested, then there's going to be a lot of dead roaches in those ducts that are going to start to smell. Therefore, you should hire a professional duct cleaning service to clean the ducts.

      Now that you have chased a lot of the roaches out of the system, you may see new activity inside the building. However, if you did phase two correctly, then all those cockroaches are going to die after a few days.

      I hope that helps. Be well Kelli.

    Thank you very much for providing such valuable information. I reside in Canada, where unfortunately, most of these products are not readily accessible. Despite engaging a pest control company and having them visit twice, the issue with roaches persists. It's concerning that I haven't even come across a single dead roach. Despite investing a significant amount of money into professional services, my confidence is dwindling.
    I maintain a thoroughly clean home and have been unable to pinpoint the source of the infestation. It appears that I might be dealing with German cockroaches. The individual who administered the sprays during the two visits is leaving the company but shared with me that the challenge with roaches might persist due to the prohibition of potent insecticides in Canada.
    I'm feeling completely helpless in this situation, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.

      They are probably German roaches. The video shows what they look like. You can get the products shipped to Canada, but it's expensive. Please write to me at guyspestsolutions@gmail.com. Your comments are getting to me late. When that happens it's best to email me. I will explain where you can get the products. If you cannot afford them, then I will give you the alternatives that are available in Canada. The pros cannot eliminate German roaches regardless of where you are in the world. It's not the pesticides. They have not been trained how to do it because I am the only one who has figured it out. The good news is, now that I have the video that solves the puzzle, more and more pest controllers are discovering it and adopting this procedure. It is just a matter of time before it becomes the industry standard. Right now though, you need to do it yourself. Be well my friend.

    We do not have German roaches, but we do have American roaches. I have not spotted any during the day, but we have found dead ones at night, so we know they are here (in suspected areas, bathroom cabinet, hallway under previously leaking AC unit).
    I've sprayed every inch of wall with spectracide and applied boric acid in all cracks and crevices. I am going to have to caulk nearly every inch of wall, as whoever did it last did a truly horrible job.
    Will this treatment work well for American roaches? I don't know if I trust my apartment to do it correctly, so I am looking to take matters into my own hands.

    Is 20 Mule Team Borax OK to use? I already have that for use as flux. (typed before the last 3 minutes, thanks)
    From my observations, the German roaches , males are wider and shorter than females, they get darker as they get older.
    Do you think it's worthwhile removing wall plates around sockets and switches? (this has been going on so long I'm willing to try pretty much anything now)
    The one thing I found works 100% better as bait is Cherry Coke, they seem to love the stuff enough to drown in it! ( my stepdaughters daughter left a glass of it out in her room, next day it was 'full' of dead bugs so I bought a small bottle to test the theory, worked better than anything to attract them)
    I have to do all the work, stepdaughters are real good at complaining but not so great at helping with anything

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Рік тому

      20 Mule Team Borax is not going to work. You do need to remove all the outlet plates and switch plates, and you do need to puff boric acid in the electrical boxes, and into the wall voids. Drilling the walls is a must to get rid of a German cockroach infestation. Your walls are constructed with 2 X 4 studs that are about 16 inches apart. Each one creates its own wall void. So, you have these hollow spaces in your walls that are every 16 inches apart. The roaches may not be in all of them, but they are probably in some of them. The problem is that you do not know which of these voids are infested or how many. The roaches travel from wall void to wall void through holes in the studs that were made by the electricians that ran the wiring through the walls. You get the electricity to your outlets and switches from wires that need to be run through the wall studs. The holes that were created to allow the wires to pass through the wall studs, also allows the roaches to pass through as well. So, the wiring becomes a bit of a superhighway for the roaches to go from wall void to wall void. There are holes going up into the attic as well because they were needed to run the wiring for the light switches. So, there is really no way around drilling holes in all of these wall voids.
      Just start with phase one and take it one step at a time. You will eventually get through it. I am so sorry that you are having this problem, but keep at it and you will get there.

      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  11 місяців тому +3

      Yes. It can make the floors sticky. Mix it at 2.5 cups per gallon of water for mopping and 7.5 cups per gallon of water for spraying. If the floors are sticky at 2.5 cups per gallon, then cut it back to 2 cups to see what happens. If you cannot resolve the problem, then only mop around the walls about 6 to 12 inches and under and around the furniture. Thanks a bunch for all you are doing to help others.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Рік тому

      First, thank you so much for those kind words. Very much appreciated.

      Insulation that is blown into walls does present a problem. The insulation tends to get very compacted at the bottom of the wall void and that does not leave a lot of room for the cockroaches to breed. There still may be some in there, but I wouldn't think too many. They will run out of room really fast and need to look elsewhere for shelter. The real problem though is that blown in insulation tends to settle to the bottom and that can leave gaps near the top of the wall. So, while the bottom of the wall may not leave much room for the roaches, the top of the wall may have a sufficient amount of space to allow them to breed quite nicely. A lot depends upon how the insulation was applied and when it was applied. The longer it was there, the more likely that it has compacted and settled to the bottom of the wall void. Also, how much it settles is going to depend upon how much they applied when they did the job and how good they are at doing it. All of this is to say that, if it were me, I would drill a hole near the ceiling and blow in the boric acid dust. That will take care of any roaches that are breeding on top of the insulation. To be honest, I cannot really think of a way to treat the bottom of the wall void when this insulation method has been used. No system is perfect, and this is just one of those scenarios where you do your best and you just have to hope it works out. I would definitely puff boric acid under all the baseboards. I wish I had a perfect answer for you, but there's only so much that you can do.

      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.
