Highly recommend to watch BigBang. Watch their performance at MAMA Awards 2015 . You can watch on their chanel but if you want subtitles Dorian Gray chanel has them . BigBang played a major role in shapping kpop into what it is today and BTS members fans .
I would say: at least one solo song from each BTS member and then some group BTS songs. (Solo songs would nicely show the individual styles and vibes of each BTS member. It would also highlight how all those different and unique artists can work amazingly well as a group). I'm sure ARMY would love longer reactions to full solo/group albums - BTS are amazing with their narrative and storytelling through their albums so it would be worth spending time on it.
as an ARMY i always see BTS as a group who have solo projects. i dont see them as soloists since technically they are still a group. and when our rappers rap its not k pop its hip hop
I think that that’s how they see themselves too. Which is why when they are doing solo work and promotions they always introduce themselves as Jungkook of BTS, RM of BTS…..and not just as their own individual names. It’s not only marketing genius but also speaks to how they are always thinking of how they can better push the team as appose to just themselves.
I too am Army and older, but I agree there are many versions to our guys! Yoongie is special... he has many talents like the other 6, he just himself has a gift. Good reply
"Do you prefer BTS stuff or their solo stuff?" It's not OR for me - it's AND. BTS as a whole is precious to me and I support every single member's solo activities as I would the activities of the group.
I love that the rapline are so very distinctive in their styles - something I heard that describes each of them perfectly: Agust D/Suga will just straight out tell you that you’re sh*t, RM will explain, in detail, WHY you’re sh*t, and Jhope gives you a pat on the back and says it’s ok to be Sh*t, and I thought it was PERFECT.
Daechwita is a type of traditional music, but it's a type of military marching music (which you can hear a sample of in the beginning of the song) and it was also used to announce the arrival of the king. Yoongi has said that the blond Agust D is named wrath/anger. Blond Agust D is also a reference to the him from his first mixtape (and the MVs for the songs Agust D and Give it to Me), which was full of anger. In Daechwita he kills off this angry side of himself to make room for something new, but the story isn't done here. I recommend Agust D's Haegeum off his most recent album to see for yourself how this story continues and the cyclical nature of it.
Suga really is a genius. He wrote and produced the music himself, and he was also heavily involved in storyboarding the music video. It was very much his brain child.
Yes! if I might add, Yoongi was doing a behind the scenes and said that the company presented him with a pretty vanilla story board and he said, no, here is what we are doing. They were shocked at the details Yoongi had. This is his genius!!! A full on movie production. His whole trilogy is. He is telling his story. He said he had the whole Trilogy mapped out since the first song.
Agust D made a trilogy of rap songs. You just reacted to the first in the series, next is "Haeguem" and last is, "Amygdala". All seven members have solo projects, listen to Jungkook's, "Standing Next to You" and "Seven", Jimin's, "Set Me Free, Pt. 2" and "Like Crazy",Jin's,"The Astronaut (written by Coldplay)", "Epiphany" and "Moon", named #5 Best Boy Band Song of All Time by Rolling Stone Magazine, RM's, "Wildflower" and "Still Life feat. Anderson Pak", JHope's "Arson", "More", and, " Hope On the Street, feat. J-Cole", V's, "Love Me Again" and "Slow Dancing." And yes, more BTS, "Fake Love", "ON, Kinetic Manifesto", "Boy With Love", and their all English songs, "Dynamite", "Butter" and "Permission to Dance". They have over 300 songs and I haven't heard a single bad one, so you can't go wrong 💜
BTS songs go deep. Watch DKDKTV Explained video to understand this one. Truthfully, BTS’s rap line (RM, Suga [Agust D], and J-Hope) are as good, or better, rappers than most American rappers today. Because you’re a metal head, I suggest you listen to J-Hope’s More. (BTS are not soloists; they have solo projects.)
His real name is Min Yoongi (last name first). Stage name with BTS is Suga. Solo works he goes by Agust D (Suga backwards and D T for Daegu town, he was born in). The man is a creative genius! 💜
yes, you're right, there are two versions of himself in this video and also in haegeum. i think, yoongi (or suga or agust d) explained it like this: there is a very great anger inside of him. the blonde king, who beheads people, is that anger. the dark haired guy is he himself. now there is a very unknown fact. the revolver, he himself uses to kill his own anger is called „colt m1810 army“. so army (the fandom) helps yoongi to let his anger go. you don't see the body of the king, though. so maybe he isn't dead. also a fact that yoongi dropped.
All the members have albums, singles and rapline have old mixtapes. Jhope just dropped his album Hope on the street and 2 members have confirmed albums coming out
Suga is amazing. His videos in this trilogy are high class. Fun fact: Min Yoon-gi was a basketball player and he chose his stage name Suga, which is short for shooting guard, because that’s the position he played. Agust D, his solo name, stands for Daegu Town (where he’s from) and Suga backwards.
7:13 The funny thing is that if you actually pay attention to the music only, you'll notice the melody is the same throughout the entire song and it's Yoongi's rap which makes it sound more fast paced/slowed down/switched up 😁
I think you're starting to see just how diverse they are, and why people are so crazy about them! Each member is a successful solo artist in his own right, with very different styles, but they come together to create magic. When you get into their album tracks you'll really see how they fuse their different sounds and perspectives. It's amazing how they can bring together sparkling pop, gritty rap, funky old-school hip hop, smoky soul, smooth R&B, and influences from rock, electro, jazz, classical etc. all into one discography, along with lyrics which could genuinely be published as a book of poetry (you haven't gotten to their more lyrical songs yet). With BTS I'd say the singles are great to react to because they're so fun and the music videos are amazing, but almost all my favourite songs are album tracks, that's where they get really deep.
DKDKTV has a very good explanation video out there where he explains and ties in all the cultural references. Made me appreciate the song and his artistry even more. 😊💜
Yeah but one thing is, unfortunately, DKDK didn't explain the main theme well. According to Suga, the blonde king is the Agust D from his 2016 MV, 'Agust D' who was also blonde. So the king represents his past self, or the evil self of himself. The black hair one is his current self, or the self he wants to protect or maintain. Suga has a very dark past and he struggled with many mental health probelms and traumas, so the MV is basically about the battle between the past self and current self, trying to kill his past self so he can be more free from himself. But DKDK interpreted the blonde king as the big company or external force so he basically misinterpreted MV and the song as industry vs Suga. Apart from the main theme, DKDK did a great job at explaining the details and tons of history references Suga used, so l do recommend you to watch it but just keep in mind that the main theme is about Suga himself!
The Daechwita explained video is the one time I think DKDTV went completely off the rails with their interpretation. The cultural references were cool to learn about but Yoongi himself has explained the personal themes of the video (and the whole trilogy) so hopefully Allonsyyy will see these comments before watching that explainer vid. I do love DKDTV's content in general though - they do a great job catching all the little nuances and explaining them.
@@terebinthias I agree that Yoongi gave a deeper explanation but truthful I needed to under the Korean aspect to truly understand how Yoongi was using the items as metaphors and when thing had double mean (more than what I saw on screen) - both I feel are needed for non Koreans to get his deep meaning - at least for me
BTS are the most amazing group ever. Since they are required to fulfill their military service & they entered service at different times they each have solo work & collabs. Daechwita is the first song of a trilogy. The 2nd is Haegeum & the third(my fave) is Amygdala. Please watch them in order. Suga also has a show called Suchwita. Each member has been a guest on it, along with others. Very good. Suga is not only a rapper, songwriter & producer. He's so much more. And as Agust D he many times calls out those who treated & still treat him/them unfairly. BTS are all multi-talented, yet remain humble. My personal faves of each member are Suga/Agust D-Amygdala; RM-Wildflower; Jimin-Vibe with Taeyang; J-Hope-Rush Hour with Crush; V-Tiny Desk Korea; Jin-The Astronaut with Coldplay live in Brazil, with Chris Martin intro; Jungkook-Standing Next to You omv & Standing Next to You with Usher. All are great! If you want to appreciate BTS even more please watch A Guide to BTS: The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari. It sounds long but goes very quickly & no need to read it all to ARMY, we've watched it hundreds of times. Taylor's video is very in depth on their beginnings & each member. Keep going down the BTS rabbit hole. You will NEVER regret it. Thank you.
I'm not so into recommending collabs, let's hear BTS on their own. For Jimin it would be Like Crazy or Set Me Free, Jin - the Astronaut version by himself, J-Hope, anything but Cicken Noodle Soup. Jungkook, Seven or Standing Next to You by himself. For V, anything, lol.
We love their both solo and group songs. I'll recommend for other members solos too Rm - Wildflower, Still life Jin - Astronaut, Epiphany Suga - Haegeum, Amygdala Jhope - Arson, Neuron Jimin - Set me free pt2, Like crazy V - Slow dancing, Love me again Jungkook - Standing next to you, Seven
All of the members have had solo releases with the rap line having more releases through the years. I would also recommend you to check Agust D its the name of the track from his debut solo album. They also have done multiple japanese songs and have touched the Spanish side as well with Airplane pt 2.There is a lot to get into so it will be a wonderful journey and you are gonna love it. The last thing in terms of music preference we dont really differentiate between solo and grp works
Daechwita by Agust-D, is a representation of Suga's constant battle against himself and how the desire to achieve his dreams has given him the courage to do everything to achieve being on top, and the emptiness he feels even now when he has everything he wants. The song's title refers to traditional Korean military music. In the music video, Suga portrays a historical figure, King Agust D, and the song itself addresses themes of power, identity, and self-expression do Agust D by Agust D please. (the song's name is the same as his name)
He's one of the 3 Rappers of BTS who all came from the underground Hip Hop scene Suga as a Rapper and he also produced beats for other Rappers. While RM was a Rapper in another area of South Korea both have cut their teeth on battle Rapping. The 3rd Rapper of BTS is J Hope who was a member of a Street Dance Crew called Neuron. He listened to RM and Suga(aka Agust D) battle rapping with their other Rapper friends and wanted to try himself so got some help from Suga(Agust D) and started writing his own lyric's and joining in.
Daechwita is the title track from, D2, Yoongi/Suga/Agust D's second mixtape. His first mix tape titled Agust D has two music videos with blond hair. As Yoongi has said, there was a lot of rage on the first mixtape. Min Yoongi goes by the name Suga when he joined BTS. Suga comes from SHOOting GUArd, his favorite basketball position when he played. (He is an official NBA ambassador). Suga is from Daegu SK. If you read Agust D backwards it is D(aegu) T(own) SUGA.
Suga is a true genius. He produces, writes his songs and those of the group, for other artists as well. He's so talented. Definitely. You have to know him more.
The six guys who are with the black haired Agust D represent the other members of BTS. The two guys who are fighting in the background of the MV are actually other members of BTS.
DAECHWITA is the form that played refers to a traditional form of Korean military music played with wind and percussion instruments, historically used to motivate troops, celebrate victories, and proclaim the greatness of the king
Agust-D aka Suga or Min Yoongi, they have been calling him “Eminem of Korea” but I believe he makes his own way to prove that he is the best rapper, Suga is known to be a genius of lyrics, also he produces/writes/composes his own music makes his own beats, doing all the work, he is one of the best rappers on the biggest band in The world BTS, when you get deep into Suga you will know he is far from Sugar, his aggressive delivery and powerful bars, strong tone, and playful words will make you obsessed with every song made by this genius man, we call it “Agust-D’s tongue technology” that you will discover on the “AGUST-D OFFICIAL MV “ he can sing/dance/rap simply a whole package! I recommend you react to: “Agust-D MV, the last, amygdala, haegeum, give it to me, shadow, first love , Tony Montana , what do you think? “ Also the songs he made with BTS rap line “J-HOPE/RM+ suga”these are the big three in the industry, legends by every means, I suggest “ UGH, cypher1&2&3&4, ddaeng, outro:tear “ Look for more of BTS’s reaction vids!💜 I also hope you don't call BTS work a kpop songs we don't like to box them, because they are bigger than that, as Suga said in Agust-D MV : “ Kpop category ain't enough size to me “
If I had to pick, I’d pick the group. They’re incredibly talented on their own but together they’re magical. All members have solo music within the group discography as well as outside of it.
Welcome to Army, looking forward to your reactions to all the live shows And if you’re wondering if we’ll watch your whole hour long reaction to MAMA 2019, yes.
This is part of a trilogy, with Haegum and Amygdala. Basically it’s 2 versions of Suga, the mad king who represents is his younger more angrier self and his more present self. If you are diving into their solo work here are some of my favorites: RM - Joke (he stated that he wrote this as more of a stream of consciousness in response to the hate he received when going from underground rapper to idol), Do, You, Wild Flower, Seoul, Still Life. Suga- I would do the remaining trilogy songs of Haegum and Amygdala, his self titled song August D, The Last is super powerful, and Snooze. JHope- Arson, More, Daydream, What If, Outro Ego, Boy Meets Evil are amazing. Jimin- Lie, Serendipity, Filter,Set Me Free, Like Crazy. V- Slow Dancing, Love Me Again, Stigma, Inner Child, Singularity. Jin- Moon, Abyss, The Astronaut, Epiphany. Jungkook- Euphoria, Begin, Yes or No, Stay Alive, Standing Next to You. All are amazing and only a small sample of their work.
I would recommend watching the last two songs of this trilogy by Agust D since each song individually has something to say as well as altogether. The songs in their order are called "Haegum" and "Amygdala".
I've just found your channel and...I'm not gonna lie, you are impressive as a reactor. You must be my fav reactor among all I subscribed to. You literally notice all the details that should be noticed. Even tho, I don't say that reactor is bad when he didn't see smth, but you being a beginner in k-pop...are amazingly attentive. Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the way you do reactions! Sure that all ARMYs do enjoy it too) Purple you💜
I love them so I love their solo stuff as much as their group stuff. It's fun to see how they all have vastly different styles in solo but still manage to form such a great group. They all have solo albums, except Jin. JIn has some solo songs. He'll probably make an album this or next year.
All of the BTS guys have solos and collabs, especially since they went on hiatus to complete their military obligation. My faves are - Jin - The Astronaut (he only had time for one before his military service). This has ties to Coldplay in the writing I think and he has performed this song with Chris Martin. Jungkook - has several solos/collabs but I like Standing Next to You. V - Fri(end)s. I love the video too! Suga - besides this trilogy, I love the collab he did with Psy called That That. So fun! RM - Wild Flower. JHope - On the Street. Jimin - I still like his collab with Taeyang called Vibe. Looking forward to more reactions for BTS 🙌🏼
Whoa…so much great songs to recommend. First for AgustD I think you start with self titled on the first record. Then fast forward to Haegeum and Amygdala. Frankly as an OT7 Army there’s just so much. RM has a couple of mixed tapes and his last album “Indigo” is beautiful. Jin is the brightest star. Some of his live stage performances will take your breath away. I recommend watching Astronaut live with Coldplay. J-Hope has mixed tapes and albums…his smile and personality is as bright as the sun. Jimins vocals can make you weep. Serendipity and Lie are art, like his dance. His newest work Set Me Free Pt. 2 and Like Crazy are a major are departure of his solo songs and lift you into the air. V’s Layover is him flexing his R&B voice and being BTS baritone his ability to glow is stunning. Then last but not least is Jungkook. In the dictionary under perfect pitch should be his picture. His album name Golden truly blinds you with his solo talent. JK is also BTS main singer and dancer. Whew! As far as BTS music to recommend I would start with their first song through the journey to their most recent. And yes,Alice dear, you are down the rabbit hole!
Check out the song RUN BTS ( nut Run the BTS song and not the game show Run BTS) but the song RUN BTS. If you’re a metal fan you will like this. It’s not exactly metal but it has elements of it. Also COME BACK HOME would be to your liking as well I believe. I can’t wait. Im so excited to see you react to these and every other bts song!
I'm sure others have told you but this is actually part 1 of a trilogy that is really important to yoongi's (which is suga's real name) personal development you should do the second song in the series haegum and the third amygdala. The lyrics are really important in each video but a warning for the last one it it does get very intense! But the whole story is very real and creatively amazing. With exception of JK who is more pop which is what he likes and is completely fine. BTS a whole is very introspective and philosophical. Army like to joke that you need to hold a degree to fully understand the concepts in bts's music.they go deep! The next amazing memories you should check out jhope because he just recently within the last week release his second album while being in the military. They are all in the military at the moment and will return by 2025. They all have their own solo music that is all amazing it's all different styles and colors. And to answer your previous question if you are talking to REAL army there is no choice between bts or their individual projects they are still BTS each member is their own self but each member will also tell you they are BTS they are part of BTS and BTS is part of them.
Suga. Genius. Only 2 words you need 😂 Does he have blond hair sometimes in BTS? Yes. And mint green, red, orange, silver, etc......😂 Emperor Suga is his old self (hence historical clothes and more raw scar). He was greedy for success and money and was always worried about being the best. More modern dressed Suga is his more recent self. He is grounded by his 6 other members, represented by the 6 six guys with him. He has realised that he has climbed high and succeeded and it isn't everything. He shoots at his old self - but did he kill him off? The gun he used at the end was a Colt Army Model 1826. Part 2 of this trilogy is Haegeum. The MV is packed full of Korean references. Please watch DKDKTV explanation as there is too much to say here. Also this MV was all thought out by Suga too, and he wrote, composed and produced the song, learned the sword dance in 2 days. Watch the behind the scenes, it is fascinating.
Very well expressed. Both the “explanation by a Korean” and the behind-the-scenes (shooting sketch) videos for this song (and most BTS songs) are highly recommended. They help us non-Koreans appreciate the many layers of artistry Yoongi/Suga/Agust D weaves into his music.
It's BTS-pop not in the K-pop category like Suga said in AGUSTD,I believe that Suga is the most talented rapper ever, he isn't embarrassed to show his emotions or his real self, and his special delivery, the way he can be so soft and so aggressive at the same time is so captivating
Rather than a boy and, I see BTS as an artist collective. It's like having your 7 favorite favs do a Collab together as BTS. Each of them are artists, & they are so different in sound from one another but also works well as a group.
All members have their own solo work but still as members of BTS. The two fighting were cameos of 2 members of BTS. The members of BTS are so close they are brothers and support each other. You will find them doing cameos in each other’s MVs. 😂
LOVED your reaction!!! You got a new Subscriber right now! Happy to join the club here! As a metalhead, Rock\Punk girl, I was seriously surprised when I started listening to Kpop! It's not at all what I thought it was... I'd love for you to listen to more STRAY KIDS and BTS! I believe that you will connect A LOT to STRAY KIDS' music, their "Noise music" (that's what the haters call it), is sooo good! + Both groups write and produce their own music, So I really love that. Everything they write is so meaningful with deep messages. Also, Yes, by now all of BTS has their own solo tracks\career... Same (sort of) with STRAY KIDS, they have solo tracks as well. with them It's more inside their group's album or on the "SKZ-PLAYER" on UA-cam
BTS: RM (rapper) has a solo album Indigo. There's an explanation video Indigo Magazine Film (on the Bangtantv UA-cam chanel) where he talks about his inspiration for each song and the artists featured on his album talk about their collaboration. He also made a mixtape Mono in 2018 and another one (I think it's called RM) in 2015.. He will release a mini-album probably somewhere this year. He was recording till 2 days before he enlisted into the military. J-Hope has a solo album Jack in the box and he just released an album Hope on the street. He also released a mixtape. Jimin has a solo album Face and a recent song 'Closer than this', V has a solo album Layover and a recent song Fri(end)s. Jin just has song The astronaut because he enlisted first into the military. He will probably release more music after he's back from the military. He will be back mid June 2024. Suga/Agust D has a solo-album D-Day and he also released a mixtape previous (name?). BTS will be reunited mid June 2025. The military is mandatory in South Korea for 18 months for enabled men under 30 en 22 months for social service. You should check out the Bangtantv UA-cam chanel for a huge amount of content (music video's, live performances, Documentaries, variety shows, live broadcasts,...). There's also a lot of fanmade content on UA-cam. The Rise of the Bangtan is defenitely worth checking out. It follows the member from pre-debut till a few years later. It's a 21-episode series. It's very well made and adictive. You can find explanation video's for almost every music video of BTS on UA-cam. There's also a Guide to BTS by Taylor Mary which gives you an insight of the members, were BTS stands for, where they came from and what they accomplished. Every fan of BTS (ARMY) has seen it and a lot of them has seen it dozens of times. If you react to it a lot of ARMY's will watch it. It's 47 minutes but it's over before you know it. It's accurate until May 2022 just before BTS took a break due to the mandatory military service in South Korea.
I'll just add a couple of comments. First, I enjoy your perspective on their music and the way you attempt to dig beneath the surface. Second, keep digging. The deeper you go, the it gets. You've already been giving some insight into the meaning, but there's so much more to what he's saying. Welcome to the rabbit hole. See you on the other side!
I love how you react with Suga's Daechwita . This is a trilogy of Agust D, which by the way Suga's other persona. Do not just judge it by what you see in the video there was a story behind this, you would only know if you really want to dive into the rabbit hole, which I'm afraid that everyone who attempts to dive into it, turns out to become an ARMY. Anyhow if you are really interested there's a lot for you to see and learn, which other vloggers are using them for content, though us Army love to share BTS for you guys to be able to get to know them better not just music but beautiful meaningful songs, and of course being them. Now that you have started, go back from there previous songs way back, anyway Army will guide you and support you all through out the process and hope you become one of us? maybe? good luck!
Hey 58yo Army here.. Daechwita ( dea - chi -ta) is from the Joeson dynasty, it's a type of music reserved for when royalty is about it when the military marches.. There's an explanation video by dkdktv, lots of historical references.. It's also about the struggle between himself, the greedy King who wanted it all and the humble peasant Yoongi who finds now he just wants to stay down to earth..💜💜💜
There’s a solo Suga BTS song called Interlude:Shadow which is a link between Daechwita and the BTS Map of The Soul albums. It also refers back to early Agust D songs where he lays out his ambitions. Yoongi’s (reluctant) fame and hunger for success and recognition from his peers are major components of his Jungian shadow. There’s a great mv for Interlude:Shadow, although because it was what they call a ‘trailer’ release, it omits the second verse.
Oh Daechwita is part one of trilogy of tracks this is from his mix tape D-2, the other 2 are from his record breaking Rap Album D-Day. Only Rap album to sell over 1million physical copies on it's release day.
This song is part of a trilogy, first is Daechwita then Haegeum then Amygdala. The two people fighting in the back were Jin and JK from BTS. All members have own music and my suggestions are Agust d by Agust d, Agust d trilogy, J-hope- More and Arson and RM- Joke and Wildflower also Jimin- set me free. Another group I’d suggest is Ateez they are super talented and unique and have a real talent for mixing genres well. BTS I’d suggest watching their guide by Taylor Mari.
I really enjoy your reactions. I had an amazing experience seeing Suga perform live in Los Angeles last year. It was called the Suga/Agust D tour. He labeled his tour this way because the diverse concert list required him to show different sides of himself. The entire concert told his story of coming to Seoul in 2010 and signing up with Big Hit Entertainment as both a rapper and music Producer. During the first half of the concert he is Agust D, the fierce rapper who is rapidly spitting bars while constantly changing up his flows. Half way through the concert he becomes Suga, and even Min Yoongi, while he shares those moments of deep pain that is stored in his Amygdala. He wrote the song by the same name that speaks of his most painful moments of his life. His lyrics are raw as he sings about the motorcycle accident that seriously injured him as a trainee (he was out delivering food to make money). He has other painful memories of his childhood as well. The songs on this set list ebbed and flowed organically as he took us on an autobiographical journey of his life as a trainee, as a rapper, and as a new vocalist The entire audience was singing the chorus in Korean, and probably about 70-80% knew the entire concert set, and they happily sang in Korean. It was my first BTS experience and I was completely blown away. The Agust D/Suga concert experience will be in select theaters around the world. I think it is showing only on April 10 and 11. I encourage everyone reading this to go. It was the best live concert experience of my life. I think it may be on I-MAX. The performance will blow you away.
It means 'big hiting and banging' it's traditional Korean military music that would also announce the arrival of the ARMY and the Emperor was coming to town.
Agust D and Suga are a very interesting story. This video is the first in a trilogy (Heagum and Amygdala are the other two, in order) where he kinda wrestles with himself and creates a duality to deal with the anxiety, pressure, and depression that he himself has always had. The behind the music stuff with Suga is seriously intense when you start looking into it. Daechwita can be kind of explained as the type of music that they play when the kings used to enter into the area. In the behind the scenes footage for this video you can watch Suga learning the dance with the sword.
All of BTS has produced genius solo work. Their Rap line from the begining. They all write compose and produce. The 3 Rappers are all full members of the Korean Copywriters Association. Recently Jungkook also became a full member too. The other three have multiple credits. BTS are responsible for 0.3 of Koreas GNP. Their market share is approx. Equivalent to the entire rest of KPop. However until very recently they were an independent company. Their importance is sownplayed by media world wide. With over 820 awards broken many records.
There are at least 2 explanation videos for this song /music video the one that’s most recommended is the DKDK TV one which is my go to for the other rap line songs, and which does a great job of explaining the historical references. But the other explanation by Bookish Theories is actually closer to what Suga/Agust D has said about this song since it came out almost 4 years ago and I feel like it’s more accurate in this case although I would definitely recommend DKDK TV to explain the songs Ugh! Ddang, and Baepsae. Bookish Theories also has excellent explanation videos for Haegeum and Amygdala.
If you watch an explanation video of Daechwita, I highly suggest one by a channel called Bookish Theories. There's another one by DKDTV, but the Bookish Theories version is much more in line with what Min Yoongi (Agust D) has mentioned in interviews.
Yes, I love that she actually takes what he has said about Daechwita and expands on it instead of doing what DKDKTV does sometimes where they just give their opinions at fact
Yoongi is the first of the members to do a solo tour. I went to two of the Chicago dates and I wished I had the time and money to go to every stop (it was that good!), especially the final three dates where three of the members each did a collab stage with him. Yoongi is a stellar live performer. Please react to his song, Snooze. There’s no official MV but there’s a performance that was part of the DDAY documentary. Love your reactions so far. Keep it real! 💜
I need to say that I love you’re a metalhead too!! I’m gearing up to go to Aftershock (a rock/metal festival in California) and am freaking out that I’ll finally get to see Disturbed live this year 😆😆 Love that you’re already well down the BTS rabbit hole already💜😂
You make me so excited to follow you down the BTS rabbit hole. You play attention to the lyrics and are pretty spot on in your thoughts. BTS is 7 members. Most ARMY will not have a problem with BTS material or solo projects. We love them all together and separately 💜 much love to you. Thank you for showing them the respect they deserve!
August D it’s the alter ego that suga use to express all the things that he can’t express in bts, although August D, yoongi(suga) talk about his feelings and what’s make him feel angry… you should react to agust d (the song) and the other from d-day album, he is really a genius
One of my favorite mv. This is now a part of a trilogy: Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. I would such watching them in order. April 10th and 13th ( other days as well) are dates for Suga/August D Day tour, in theaters. I would highly recommend finishing the trilogy and then see his concert in theaters. You will also get to see some of the other members perform songs. Some of the members were already in the military so they were unable to perform songs. Another song of Suga is Snooze that also would be good to react to before the concert. Staying with BTS, and their solo projects I would go with the two other rappers of BTS RM and J Hope. J Hope More and Arson mv. Then RM: WIidflower and Still Life mv's. You also need to watch Taylor Mari Guide to Bangtan 7/BTS ( is is 45 min) Army will watch. Gives you back story on BTS. Since they have been around over 10 years it helps to get to know them. Blessings
If you liked this, then I recommend BTS songs like "Fire", "Not Today", "Boy in Luv", "Agust D" by Suga(Agust D), "Interlude: Shadow" by Suga, "MORE" by J-hope, "Intro: Nevermind" by rap line, "Joke" by RM, "UGH" by rap line, "Cyphers" 1-4 from the rap line, where they answer their haters. I think you will like these songs! I also highly recommend watching the guide to BTS “Bangtan Seven” from Taylor. This is the most important part when it comes to BTS. Thanks for your reaction💜💜💜
A Daechwita is royal martial music which you hear at the start of the MV. It was played for the coming of the King, the changing of the guard and the marching of the ARMY. All three meanings are relevant here. He had to get special permission to use it, but this may have been aided by the fact that he is from the Min clan and would have been in line for the throne is S Korea was still a Monarchy. Our Prince Min Yoongi. This song is part of his trilogy which tell the story of his mental health journey through dealing with his traumas. He has many songs which speak with honesty and rawness about his mental health struggles and is known for this. BTS in general are known for their honest, deep, genius and meaningful lyricism. This trilogy is about overcoming his traumas, which he considers to be self-inflicted wounds because he was not able to process and deal with the things that happened to him at the time because he was too young and too emotionally unhealthy. The songs (in order) are Daechwita, Haegeum & Amygdala. In each he plays dual roles in the MVs, a "good" version of himself and a "bad" less healed version. In each he is battling aspects of his healing and his traumas. He has really been through a LOT in his life. In this MV his blonde hair represents Suga/Agust D of the past, in his early years with BTS when he had blonde hair. Here he is battling his rage and paranoia, represented by the wrathful and violent Mad King, who is isolated, taking heads, trusting no one. The Peasant Agust D has his 6 brothers behind him (representing BTS members) and one woman representing ARMY. She holds the keys for him (to his happiness? his healing? his career?) but he takes hold of those keys himself. He is more confident and even smiles at points, He speaks in the song about wanting to rise and rise and reach the top but coming to a reality check that he needs to put his feet back on the ground and rebalance himself. He also peaks of his haters, which BTS does often. They have had such an intense and insane amount of hate, right from the beginning when they were broke teenage nobodies keeping the lights on at their tiny, independent label as their only artists with random gigs like back up dancers at mall fashion shows. There were so many viral and organized hate campaigns, bullying both online and in person, attempts at sabotage of their projects, and attacks and sabotage by show hosts, venues, networks, publications and journalists, many death threats and more. Their industry abuse and lockout is why they started creating more of their own content. They started with vlogging and blogging (something no one else in their industry was doing like them) because their company was too broke for much advertising. But they expanded with more of their own content because of mistreatment and made their own variety, travel and reality shows. There are multiple reasons for the hate including: * Industry lockout by super connected large labels. * Social prejudice against their impoverished background at their tiny company. * Seeing them as industry misfits because of their unique style, their hard hitting and honest lyricism on taboo topics and speaking truth to power, and their lack of "Korean male idol beauty standard looks." They were called "The Ugly Idol Group" when they first started. * Other labels feeling threatened by their prodigious talent right from the start. * Later, more haters came because they were having successes, and they were jealous of their successes. * Racism and xenophobia outside Asia. The supporters of the Mad King in the MV stage a coup, turning into supporters of the Peasant Agust D and help him to overthrow the Mad King. He is handed a Colt ARMY model revolver, representing the strength he found in ARMY, to take down the king. The ending is left ambiguous, as we don't get to see if he has succeeded since we don't see the King fall. He was not sure at that time if he successfully destroyed his rage and his paranoia. It was a work in progress. DKDKTV has a great breakdown of this video that covers many historical and other refences in the visuals. Song and MV breakdowns are often helpful with BTS because of their deep lyrical and visual storytelling. Subtitles just cannot convey the fullness of meaning or the depth of their wordplay. Some good UA-cam sources for explanations and video essays with more information about BTS are channels DKDKTV, xCeleste, boracity magazine, bby gang mag, Taylor Mari, Asian Entertainment and Culture, and Bookish Theories. The best source for written lyrics translations with notes on context is the site Doolset Bangtan.
The gong and horns in the background are the Korean genre of music that this is named after, it's played when the army or king are moving about. This is part of a Trilogy. Haegeum is next also a music instrument, then Amdalya. I really liked the behind the screen video plus the sword practice video. The explanation video was also pretty awesome 💜💜💜
I recommend you the BTS 2021 Live Room Festa. It was live. They're singing a few pieces of their songs, they're singing, laughing, dancing. I think you'll enjoy it. I'm a OT7 grandma army since 2019. 💜 Love your reactions.
So much to Say lol First you are really good at keeping up with lyrics Most reactors either give up or rewind again and again … and you are good at picking up visual stuff like the figures headbanging at the end Second there are a lot Korean historical and cultural references… the video Daechwita explained by a Korean from dkdktv cover that but many would not agree with their interpretation of the meaning.. still v helpful Third the two characters fighting in the market are jin and jk two BTS members doing a cameo Fourth and most important This is the first track in the agust d trilogy the second is haegeum and the third is amygdala… pls watch them Thks for your enthusiasm Keep going 💜🇨🇦
Which KPOP artists should we check out next? 🗯️
Should we check out more BTS songs? 🗯️
Highly recommend to watch BigBang. Watch their performance at MAMA Awards 2015 . You can watch on their chanel but if you want subtitles Dorian Gray chanel has them . BigBang played a major role in shapping kpop into what it is today and BTS members fans .
More BTS please ☺️☺️
More BTS please
I would say: at least one solo song from each BTS member and then some group BTS songs.
(Solo songs would nicely show the individual styles and vibes of each BTS member. It would also highlight how all those different and unique artists can work amazingly well as a group).
I'm sure ARMY would love longer reactions to full solo/group albums - BTS are amazing with their narrative and storytelling through their albums so it would be worth spending time on it.
BTS!! 2019 MAMA awards show. AWESOME!!
as an ARMY i always see BTS as a group who have solo projects. i dont see them as soloists since technically they are still a group. and when our rappers rap its not k pop its hip hop
Good reply
Yeah, I agree, I look it as "solo work" of BTS members, like not the solist work 🤔... And they also promote as member of BTS. So yeah..
well said!
Agree..💯
The two guys fighting in the background are Jin and Jungkook from BTS.. it's a cameo
Such an on brand cameo too. These two can't be left alone together without causing chaos 😆
That makes sense! I thought there was something different about them! 🤣
@@msmichellewinchester Jin and Jungkook, acting like Jin and Jungkook. I miss their chaos!
@@msmichellewinchester so true - they need adult supervision - oh wait Jin is the adult 😁😁
@@Allonsyyyy welcome to Jin the oldest and often the youngest acting member of the BTS
"Do you prefer BTS stuff or their solo stuff?" It's not OR for me - it's AND. BTS as a whole is precious to me and I support every single member's solo activities as I would the activities of the group.
Amen!!!
Preach! ❤
Exactly! It doesn't matter whether it's vocal line, rap line, soloist, duo or full group, it's all part of the BTS mosiac. 💜
I prefer their high quality music , aka when at least one of the rappers is involved.
LOUDER 🙌🏻🔥
I love that the rapline are so very distinctive in their styles - something I heard that describes each of them perfectly: Agust D/Suga will just straight out tell you that you’re sh*t, RM will explain, in detail, WHY you’re sh*t, and Jhope gives you a pat on the back and says it’s ok to be Sh*t, and I thought it was PERFECT.
OMG I've never heard this description of the rapline and it's so perfect! Definitely using this now.
Гениально!
As an Army I prefer every single thing that they do as a team or individual 🔥
💜
all 7 members of BTS have solo stuff and they're all quite different
I second this
Suga really is a genius.
@@Kett6363 Including the storyboard for the Haegum MV.
@Kett6363
Yes. Yoongi/Agust D has a creative brilliant mind of a genius.
Must watck dkdktv video explaination to get all Korean references/meanings of Daechwita.
Asking ARMY for their favourite member, favourite song, or group v solo, is like asking a parent, which is their favourite child! 😮😂💜
If you want to jump on Agust D's world, go with your mind open and your soul prepared... He shows every sides of his raw self
Daechiwita is essentially "I'm important get out of my way" music.
The revolver is a Colt Army Model 1860 (from the year it was first manufactured).
Fun fact: The gun he used to shoot the king was a Colt ARMY...The sword dance Suga learned in two days for this MV.
They all have solo projects! I recommend Wildflower by RM, another member of BTS. I think you'd appreciate the poetry of the lyrics of that one
I agree.
He is NBA Ambassador and has his own NBA clothing line.
Yes please react to it 💜
Yeah but one thing is, unfortunately, DKDK didn't explain the main theme well.
@@terebinthias I'm glad you said this because we know what the triology is about due to what he told us himself.
I'll recommend for other members solos too
Rm - Wildflower, Still life
Jin - Astronaut, Epiphany
Suga - Haegeum, Amygdala
Jhope - Arson, Neuron
Jimin - Set me free pt2, Like crazy
V - Slow dancing, Love me again
Jungkook - Standing next to you, Seven
In the music video, Suga portrays a historical figure, King Agust D, and the song itself addresses themes of power, identity, and self-expression
do Agust D by Agust D please.
Also the songs he made with BTS rap line “J-HOPE/RM+ suga”these are the big three in the industry, legends by every means, I suggest “ UGH, cypher1&2&3&4, ddaeng, outro:tear “
Look for more of BTS’s reaction vids!💜
I also hope you don't call BTS work a kpop songs we don't like to box them, because they are bigger than that, as Suga said in Agust-D MV : “ Kpop category ain't enough size to me “
If I had to pick, I’d pick the group. They’re incredibly talented on their own but together they’re magical. All members have solo music within the group discography as well as outside of it.
Welcome to Army, looking forward to your reactions to all the live shows
And if you’re wondering if we’ll watch your whole hour long reaction to MAMA 2019, yes.
I see you, you got my attention🧐 come on Armys, let's pull him harder into our purple rabbithole💜💜💜

He learned that sword dance from a professional sword dancer in like one day :)
All of the BTS guys have solos and collabs, especially since they went on hiatus to complete their military obligation. My faves are -
Jin - The Astronaut (he only had time for one before his military service).
The 2 guys that fight behind Suga is J.K and Jin
Suga(Agust D) is an amazing producer and rapper
Love the song and your reactions
After Daechwita you definitely need to check Haegeum! It is kind of 2nd part of his storyline, I'm sure you would enjoy it a lot :)
Suga. Genius. Only 2 words you need 😂
Does he have blond hair sometimes in BTS? Yes. And mint green, red, orange, silver, etc......😂
Emperor Suga is his old self (hence historical clothes and more raw scar).
I BEEN WAITIN FOR THIS ONE
Rather than a boy and, I see BTS as an artist collective.
It's like having your 7 favorite favs do a Collab together as BTS.
Each of them are artists, & they are so different in sound from one another but also works well as a group.
I love all their stuff solo and group projects its just all amazing.
Wow! You would be a good witness to a crime. Your natural attention to detail is unparallelled. Amazing
BTS:
RM (rapper) has a solo album Indigo.
Now that you have started, go back from there previous songs way back, anyway Army will guide you and support you all through out the process and hope you become one of us? maybe? good luck!
2:35 those who were fighting behind him were two BTS members who came for cameos. 😂
Love BTS and all their solo stuff.
August D 🔥
Suga is also the main producer in Bts
Welcome to ARMY bro! Thank you for giving BTS a little of your time! Honestly I recommend watching I need U. That MV gave me chills✌️
We Army don't have preference. We love all members ans support them as a group and as solo artistes.
Suga ❤️
Agust d is an alter ego like Sasha Fierce (Beyoncé)Tina Snow (Megan Thee Stallion) , Roman, Slim Shady, Queen Sleeze, Chun li and ect (Nicki Minaj)
Oh Daechwita is part one of trilogy of tracks this is from his mix tape D-2, the other 2 are from his record breaking Rap Album D-Day. Only Rap album to sell over 1million physical copies on it's release day.
Agust D so amazing 💜
Agust D is FIRE. One of the 3 best rappers in Korea. A/k/a Suga, real name Min Yoongi. Producer, composer, lyricist, performer without equal.
Agreed!!!
Watched all your reactions to K-pop, so anxiously waiting for your next reaction. See ya😉
Each BTS member by themselves are fantastic. But together are MAGIC💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Suga 💥
ARMY to BTS reactors: Expect the UNEXPECTED
Yoongi is the first of the members to do a solo tour. I went to two of the Chicago dates and I wished I had the time and money to go to every stop (it was that good!), especially the final three dates where three of the members each did a collab stage with him. Yoongi is a stellar live performer. Please react to his song, Snooze. There’s no official MV but there’s a performance that was part of the DDAY documentary. Love your reactions so far. Keep it real! 💜
I need to say that I love you’re a metalhead too!! I’m gearing up to go to Aftershock (a rock/metal festival in California) and am freaking out that I’ll finally get to see Disturbed live this year 😆😆
Love that you’re already well down the BTS rabbit hole already💜😂
Suga is absolutely brilliant. When he said he's a genius, he wasn't lying!
There are multiple reasons for the hate including:
* Industry lockout by super connected large labels.
Rapline is my fav,, but i love them ( OT7 ).
Next i hope u will react RM JOKE,, J HOPE and then rapline cypher medley.😊
BTS membres have sols on group albums so if you ask if we prefer the group stuff or solos....the answers is YES.
So much to Say lol
First you are really good at keeping up with lyrics
Most reactors either give up or rewind again and again … and you are good at picking up visual stuff like the figures headbanging at the end
Second there are a lot Korean historical and cultural references… the video Daechwita explained by a Korean from dkdktv cover that but many would not agree with their interpretation of the meaning.. still v helpful
Third the two characters fighting in the market are jin and jk two BTS members doing a cameo
Fourth and most important
This is the first track in the agust d trilogy the second is haegeum and the third is amygdala… pls watch them
Thks for your enthusiasm
Keep going
💜🇨🇦
The two guys fighting in the background are two of the BTS members (Jin and Jungkook). They like to do cameos in their members' solo videos.
