  • Louise uses her signature methods of experimenting with paper to demonstrate the creation of organic, lace-like textured papers. The stunning results will significantly enhance your mark-making repertoire and add jewel-like papers to your collage treasure trove.
Brilliant for journalling, collage, mixed-media, abstracts, card-making and much more. We hope you enjoy XXX
Hi all, to clarify the glue details, as the sound on the video is not very good (my apologies) - I used methylcellulose, which is about the same as wallpaper paste but without chemical additives. I use methyl cellulose because it is a natural product that is water soluble, so I will take the paints applied really well; you can use any starch-based glue. The PVA glues are generally non-soluble when dry and are not archival. X Hope this helps, and many thanks for watching X😀

I’ve watched about 10 hours on acrylic mediums (media?) I am now so confused, BUT! You’re the FIRST one who put black behind it, everyone else was spreading pastes and modeling clay white on white…. Isn’t it basic, to think that nobody can actually see anything? So thank you for having creativity AND common sense!

So happy to see that you have uploaded. I’ve wanted to use lacy mulberry paper for collage, but had the same reluctance due to its regularity in pattern and cost prohibitive sizes (too small for my needs). Thank you so much for sharing your discoveries. So much diversity and so many possibilities!

This is great!! I've been seeing these cool papers being used but couldn't justify the cost of them... I think I will try this with the backing layers of napkins. Also, I have a whole big tin full of spools of sewing thread...who knew it gets old and mucks up your sewing machine? And I want to figure out those circles, bee hives or something like it. I had tried circles by using threads and gel medium but it didn't work out. Thank you for giving me inspiration for my mad scientist gene!!

Suggestion: When looking at a list of videos, you can tell if you’ve already watched one because there’s a red bar across he bottom - either all the way across if you’ve watched the entire video or part way across if you’ve only watched some of the video. Progress bar I believe it’s called. Since you put all your videos in red boxes, it’s impossible to tell, at a glance, if we’ve missed watching one of your videos. Just a suggestion that changing the box color or just the bottom part from red would be more user friendly. Thanks! I love watching your videos!

This is absolutely fabulous. Several months ago I experimented trying to replicate agura lace without a great deal of success but love your methods. I love working with that packaging paper mesh and don’t find it too regular. I spray it over something else so it acts as a stencil at the same time. I’ve never thought of wetting it first though. I use it a lot in my art. I’ve also made circles with fibres on tissue paper and when you glue it down the tissue becomes invisible. I’ve always used acrylic based media and never had any problems with painting it afterwards. Another thing I do is punch holes in those accordion folded medication leaflets, then unfold them and spray over something else so they act as a stencil as before. The printing on them adds interest. They tear beautifully along the perforations made with the crop-a-file. Fun fun fun!!

Great technique. For me, the hardest part will be waiting for the glue to dry. I might try working on freezer paper (instead of cellophane) and then using a heat gun to dry the tissue paper. For really bright colors, acrylic ink might work.

Hi, I used methylcellulose, which is about the same as wallpaper paste but without chemical additives. I use methyl cellulose because it is a natural product that is water soluble, so I will take the paints applied really well; you can use any starch-based glue. The PVA glues are generally non-soluble when dry and are not archival. X Hope this helps, and many thanks for watching X😀
