that means you have to parry her once more to get her into a critical attack state.
also if you want to deal with the immense amount of HP she has use a bleed weapon. (I used a bleed infused Milady)

and best part is: it doesnt run into the issue of tripple split damage like the sword of night and flame simply because one sword deals magic damage and the other fire damage(thats at least how it feels like to me; please correct me if im wrong). that means you only have to deal with double split damage wich is more then manageable.

@@imperialspacemarine1539 yup you can even choose wich sword to lead with the 2 combos. I’m on PS5 and the L1 leads a unique combo with the flame sword doing most of the attack and when I hit R1 the combo is different and is lead by the magic sword.

Well to gain his power you first have to defeat Rellana, Renalas sister and pontif sulivan 2.0 preatty much. I havent fought Pontif Sulivan, but i just defeated Rellana and she was quite hard to beat even with 8 levels into scadutree blessing

fun fact: rellana's twin blades is unique in many ways. one way is that the individual swords deal specific damage types, the left dealing fire and the right dealing magic; also, depending on which hand you put it in when wielding another weapon you will hold that sword when not dual wielding, once again with left being fire and right being magic. Also also, they're unique among some other twin weapons in that they don't have a guard when dual wielding despite having guard stats, instead of guarding you'll use the left hand sword as a light jab. overall, 10/10 weapon

I use the shield from the horse rider in main game( blanking on the name sorry) cause it's a good shield to pair with either sword
And also the left sword uses the straight sword moveset instead of a light greatsword moveset
I use the "milady" in main hand with ice and off hand renallas for the fire, when you apply ice you get that chunk of dmg, then use the fire off hand to take the ice off and reapply with main hand
The weapon art is also a PTSD for everyone Who fight against pontiff sulyvahn

These deal way less damage tho. The full 5 beams deal 1500-1800 damage, and atound the 2200 when the sword hits as well. They don't have much reach and have gaps every 2 beams where you can get punished.
You forgot the sword that -Yoda- Swordmaster demihuman uses. That’s is the moonveil 2.0. But in terms of pvp bs/cheese, swift slash is the new Transient Moonlight.

2100 HP and 130 Poise helped me brute force her, just barely.
Finally an endgame unique weapon which doesn't suck balls.

Most fair boss imo (and with most glorious design). No trashtalks, no unfair broken shit, no "hold your strike for eternity". Straight up to beat your sorry ass with style. Sure, she can (and will) press you like there is no tomorrow, but she's giving you opportunity for landing your own attack aswell. One of my favourite bossfights in entire ER. And this swords just like a cherry on top.

Still haven't beat her, but I was having alot of fun using the new deflecting tear with the new Greatsword of Solitude on her. I haven't really utilized blocking at all since my first playthrough, forgot how useful it can be
Nah I felt she was decently bs at least on ng+7. The Saint Bud boss is the most fair imo.
Gonna have to disagree for 2 reasons:
1. She can randomly add another attack into a combo at will tricking you into thinking it’s safe to attack when it’s not.
2. The speed at which she can go into a new combo after finishing the first one means you can’t get a hit in with heavier weapons unless you dodge through the final attack and do the colossal poke. It’s a boss than once again punishes certain builds which is never a good design choice.
The moon attacks is kinda bullshit, but other than that yes. Not a fan of attacks that just leave you sitting there watching all 60 of your vigor points get deleted because you mistimed one roll by a millisecond.

I've noticed only meeting the int/fth requirements and building it for physical is only *slightly* stronger than building with 45 int and faith, which also makes the skill a lot stronger

Instantly reminded me of DS3 and the way dual weapons worked there. Also of Pontiff. The backhand dagger is also straight off of the Corvian Greatknife.
Paired weapons had a sad lack of presence in Elden Ring.

Due to it using both fire and magic damage, and it being a light greatsword, I like to think of it as "Sword of Night and Flame 2"
The secret sauce with this weapon is to focus on magic damage and off hand a Magic Milady or a keen Milady buffed magic grease, you get the same powerstanced moveset.
I have a Night & Flame build… 80 INT/FAITH. 70 Vigor. This weapon is absolutely BONKERS with a similar setup. 🔥🔥🔥👌🏾

Mainhand a cold milady and offhand this sword and you get an op fire ice set since the off hand weapon has the fire stat. Combo 1 rt and andv3 rb atk tarting with a double slash for a fast dps combo ending in a thrust reversing the rb spam combo that starts with a thrust and ends with a cross slash
This weapon is actually pretty bad. It suffers from Dancer's Enchanted Swords syndrome and has really low damage and bad scaling as a result. It only gets decent damage at really high levels (250-300+), and it has its damage split in three types further lowering the damage.
It is absolutely a Weapon Art Stick and a pretty decent one at that thanks to the all the talisman buffs you can stack, but that's about all it has going for it.
Also maybe don't show off its "amazing" damage on regular Messmer soldiers with a Scadutree Blessing level 20. It's like showing off how good your +25/+10 weapon is against a random Godrick Soldier at the Gatefront. Don't care if it does 2500 damage after buffing for five minutes, if it'll do 500 damage against a boss with 25000 HP.

You have no super armor with the magic swipes. Which sucks because otherwise they’d be super strong. Meanwhile an int build using the fire attack is gonna get less damage from it than from 2 light attacks.
the rellana boss fight as a whole reminds me of an older souls game idk which or if it even exists, the red and blue seems kinda nostalgic when the only other souls game I played was defeating the first boss at my cousins house, I'll def be using it tho.
I think that dual wielding rellana sword and miledy is better. Moveset kinda faster and damage definitely not worse
Those are not rellana's twin blades. They are the profane greatsword and the judjement greatsword...
Try using the great sword of solitude you can get pretty early and it's got pretty good ash of war to cover distance

I didn't know they split the faith and int stats for these swords. That's actually pretty intuitive.
If you're going to end up using it with a shield, i.e. one-handed, you can just buff Int since the main sword is the glintstone one.
I absolutely love the light greatsword's attacks, they are just so fluid
after switching to light roll i was able to beat this boss instantly
it's actually insane how much better light roll is for this fight

@@Ake-TL whirl bubble tear her when she switches to her stance and throw in the opaline bubble tear(not the tear that gives you one time massive resist but the one that give you dmg resist during its entire duration) you will decrease her physical damage massively and offset it further by absorbing her magic and fire dmage as health. during the duration of the absorbtion tear shell hit like a wet noodle lol.
Tbh I probably shouldve done this since my armor is just for style cause almost everything can still one shot me until I get more blessings

@@kingkitty026 i dont think thats gonna change. ive looked at the fextra map and im 100% sure that they are spaced in a way that you never outdamge the enemy and always recieve a good chunk of damage in return(unless of course you metroid-vainia it)

Yeap, I've been using these since I found them. The person in the discord call I was in heard how much I liked the fight and said "Then wait for phase 2.." the first time I saw the fireworks show I immediately knew what my weapons were for the rest of the DLC, and they haven't done me wrong yet.
Fighting Pontiff 2.0 was so worth for the weapons. I used them for my entire playthrough, so fun, would also recommend!

So much in this DLC is reminiscent of DS3 and Bloodborne. The specimen storage area is extremely similar in theme and appearance to the research hall. The attacks of some of the shades (idk the actual name) are similar to enemies from the ringed city. The similarities go on.
Just after the Perfumer weapons and tied with Beast Claws/Bear Claws, this is my second favorite weapon in the game. That said, for some reason, I never considered the consecutive-hit damage buff sources. I'll keep that in mind when I circle back to make a proper build for the weapon.

Please make a video on dryleaf arts and how op they are on a pure strength build. If you pump 99 strength and two hand you can take chunks off bosses health and any enmey like Golden Hippo that can be staggered easier goes down in like 3 charged heavies without the Talisman

This weapon convinced me to go back to my old Carian Knight ways, after spending so long as a Faith/Strength gigachad (I still keep a Greatsword on me though)

Alternatively, if you simply want four nukes, max INT and FTH and also carry SoNoF
Honestly I'm enjoying it for PVP it works well for mind games since it forces the scary red man to make a decision to either run towards you to cancel your stance or respect the distance and let you dictate the flow of combat.

Most youtubers say to pump STR/DEX, but this only gives a very small damage increase to your basic attacks (like 10%).
Increasing your INT/FTH to 55 each increases your basic and ash of war damage by around 30-35%.
Pairing these weapons with the Staff of The Great Beyond allows for a great INT/FTH hybrid gameplay.
Currently using it on a 70 Dex build. It's ok but far from broken.
-no status build-up
-pretty high casting cost
-medium/high casting time with no additional poise
-pretty bad stat spread forcing you to already be high level
The leaf gloves out-dps these swords so easily and against bosses Impaling Thrust remains stupidly good for exemple.
It's probably strong in a gank squad, but given how strong the bosses are in the DLC when you fight them in coop, who's going to have that sword to gank ?
It’s very good, I agree but I prefer the Curseblade Cirque’s. 1. They attack fast especially while dual wielding. 2. They cause bleed damage so you’re applying bleed incredibly fast with long combos. 3. If you have a mimic tear with you using the Cirque’s you could easily kill Mohg on a new game+ with the amount of damage you’ll be dealing.
Rellanas Moon is also an Insane Spell..you should Check it out...Easily the best remembrance in the Game and saw her 2nd Phase I prayed that I can get that weapon...And after that Moon Nuked me I wanted it aswll...Got both not :)

What a Time to be a Mage in Elden Ring...The second I though Rellana and
The only downside is that you have to powerstance for full power, and if an enemy doesn't stagger, you're locked into the longer attack animations and likely will take a beating. Very fun swords and as someone who used 2 Sword of Night and Flame Powerstanced it was really fun to flow right into Rellana's TB, but the dlc beat me back into SONF with a shield. Stupid final boss and very little windows to attack.
Would recommend these for the base game though, DLC is just a different beast that makes risking full bore offense a poor choice.
I’m currently in my first run of the DLC, and it’s on max NG+ scaling because I’m just built different. The moment I beat Rellana, I duped her remembrance, whipped out the full armor, and let me just say, even at max difficulty, that shit still slaps harder than almost anything else in the game despite the spread scaling. The fact that it gets buffed by both the Cameo and the Shard is downright disgusting for maxing out your passive damage and puts it ahead of almost all somber weapons since most AoWs don’t have a stance effect.
It only took me 3 goes with her, she's not to be underestimated, kinda makes Melania sorta easier if U think about it. Not only that but the first time she does the Kamehameha 😂 U just don't see it immediately, then you learn that you just jump those and your set.. I did it in Ng+4 (still currently doing ng4 atm) but ye once U take her out, and find the coffins around the DLC that can also give U the second ability besides the sword. Good way to use the spell is to use renalla moon spell, the person will dodge that, come at U and then U use the second moon ability and slam the op unexpectedly
it’s a worse sword of night and flame but it’s pretty fun
I find the twin blades are really good for exploring the open world. You've got a lot of options for AoE and you can get some pretty decent damage on larger bosses. The problem, I've found, is stagger. You can do a lot of damage in a hurry, but it's just not as good for poise breaking. A lot of enemies in the DLC have long combos and short punish windows. If you can't interrupt them, all you can really hope to do is trade, and that's a losing proposition against something like a curseblade.
Honestly me and my brother loved this fight so much! Yeah we accidentally had her as our first boss because we explored the wrong area 😂 but honestly? Fighting her was such a blast! That bitch was so quick! So strong! Such cool animations and attack chains! It felt like dancing almost? She made the first move, you followed up, she changes her way of fighting or an attack mit combo and so you improvise and follow along, she was so fun to dodge! We did beat her after lots of trial and error but honestly most ive had in this dlc
Personally, I absolutely love this weapon, but it requires a lot of stamina so start firming those runes If you wanna be able to work with this weapon, more efficiently, despite meeting their requirements or being level 200.
Remember the quicker you maxed out vigor and stamina the quicker you can piss off invaders
Optimal build is minimum Strength and Dex and then building Int/Faith for the Ash of War, as you'll only be losing out on about 8% AR but a TON of Ash of War damage, and the AoW is far more impactful to the weapon than the base attacks
Im actually not a hufe fan. They dont stagger as much as you'd think they would, and the movesets kinda locks you in due to the long animations. You kinda have to build for high poise so you can trade, because you're going to be doing a lot of it in the DLC with how ridiculously aggressive most bosses are.
I wish there was a paired Katana Weapon with Dex, Arc, and Int scalings that could buff itself with Bleed and Frost...

@ROLTPRO it has amazing hyperarmor, B dex at +10, gets a small str bonus from 2h, 775 AR at 55dex. It has a penalty of you taking increased damage but hyperarmor also reduces damage taken, so as long as you're swinging you get a reduction since its ability is to give hyper armor when swinging 1h or 2h

Used Moonveil as my backup to sorceries for most of my current playthrough but the damage falls off pretty hard in the DLC. Switched over to DMGS and sometimes paired with Helphen’s Steeple.

This weapon is why im kinda upset about the rewards aspect of the DLC tbh. Its just a clone of sword of night and flame but with a slightly better moveset. Most of the dungeons just reward ashes while the mini bosses have the coolest weapon. I just wished that the weapons had cooler and a larger variety of abilities
I love the swords and armor and might leave it as my permanent build tbh. It’s so cool and fun to use. I’m just disappointed that there is no summon pool for her boss fight because I want to fight her again. Her fight feels like an elegant dance, actually kinda like Grimm from Hollow Knight lol
Look, i think moonveil is ok, but the light greatswords are better than all katanas, weaker in physical, but my god, the attack combos are almost LUSTFUL man, its just great hitting people with 3 different attack styles
The ideal build is to put as much into dex as possible? Damn, I put 30 in each of the stats it scales with due to them all having the same letter scaling...
I did the same thing, tbh. Then we changed to Dex and we noticed much better performance
I've been loving these swords. They are so damn good, and I don't even really have a good build for it. I'm just on a level 200 Int/Dex build, and I can manage to get enough faith through 2 talismans. I haven't even been using the wing sword talisman
Dear Ranni, Have You Tried The New Throwing Daggers? They are quite short in range, but the Jump R2 Attack is almost an Guaranteed Headshot on Humanoid Opponents both on PvE and PvP.
Ranni's aunty is allergic to poison. All I did was put the bloody stabby stab ash of war to a spear and set poison: Will you get is on 100 plus poison buildup and depending on your arcane, 80 plus bleed. I beat her my third try😅 .
