There's just something really unexciting about the 2017 NSX.Im sure it'll be fast, and the flappy paddle 9-speed will be flawless, but will it have the same sort of spirit as the first generation? I'm guessing no, but I'll reserve judgement for the reviews. It just seems like all new supers cars are the same machines, in different skin, with no personality.
+mojostevo Agree, they are all so good nowadays that it's almost boring, back in the 90s you had something like the NSX that wasn't as powerful as a C5 Corvette but was much more delicate and better handling. Like neither were perfect but that made battles between such cars more interesting as one would have an advantage on the straights, the other in the corners etc.
+mojostevo i think Honda wont screw this up. Japanese have a thing for rebooting cars. by the time the GTR came along, everyone was like. ouuu will it be any good, just look at it now. A legend the AE 86 was said to get a reboot years later, and everyone was like:oh nno, it will have a trillion BHP and will be fat. Look at it now ;) I think Honda will make a brilliant car, whicch stays true to its roots, as the GT and the GT86 do
Hanzo Low I'm not saying it won't be any good, I'm just suspecting it won't have any character. The GTR is a great car, but it has no soul. Some tech ages well, and some doesn't. I think in 20 years, the GTR is going to feel old, and not in a nostolgic way, but in a first Gen iMac way. SydneyCBR6 said it perfectly: " they are all so good nowadays that it's almost boring". I think Porsche is going in the right direction with future offerings back-to-basics enthusiast models. Light, and driver-centric, with manual gearbox options.
The old NSX has this timelessness in styling. Well there is a motor show holding around my place so I guess I'll go and see the new NSX in flesh, hopefully not be disappointed.
One of my favorite cars of all time! I'd love to own one of these. Unfortunately they not only hold their price well, they actually seem to be appreciating in value.
The NSX has always been my dream car. Since I first saw one in the Acura showroom in 1994 I was in love. I would have actually taken it over any other car back then. It's crazy how they are going up in value and I do wish i would have bought one when they were at their lowest in value. I do remember seeing them for sale in the high 20's low 30's. Now you probably can't find one for under 50 000$ or more. It is still a beautiful car in my opinion with a timeless design.
+Stephen C i was gonna say that, the scoop is stock, my neighbor bought a white nsx-r gt (bone stock besides wheels and air suspension), super clean, guy also owns a red wide body fd rx7. makes me jealous every time i drive by in my e36.
Yes I did about every video there is on New Civic Type R. I can't wait to make to the States. It's only going to get better for Honda with Hatch, Si, and Type R.
Love my 1992 NSX since new, with it's manual transmission. When the new NSX arrived with it's hybrid engine and automatic transmission... I ran out and bought a Corvette Grand Sport with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION baby! Sorry Honda you completely blew it.
Man, I sooooooo love your Reviews!!!! No bullshit what so ever and straight up car talk!!!! No nagging like Chris Something and more serious than ANY reviewer I've ever seen on YT!!!! Keep up the good work man!!!!
Imagine if Honda just re-released this car, exactly as it was, with performance improvements to bring it up to modern standards? They would sell out instantly and they could charge whatever they wanted.
Such a modern marvel. if i could afford one i would buy it. It also is amazing at how bad Acura NA messed up the new one. I guess that is what happenes when you development team only plays video games. i wish they would just re release these exact cars with a modern interior. Perfect car
I wonder the same. The NSX and the S2k are awesome sports cars. I wonder why honda doesn't make more rwd cars. They should offer rwd civic coupe/hatch and accord coupe's. That would be awesome.
The Opinionator I'm hearing you. Chris Harris and the like will ring this things neck and give you a feel for what it does on the limit. Which is what this car is about
+SoCalSupercars i saw a 1992 with only 2,500 miles on autotrader going for $111,000. it even still had the original plastic carpet liners that the manufacturer put in
chinchy111 That's insane. I know of a Mitsubishi dealership in Costa Mesa, CA that has a brand new never sold 2006 Evolution IX MR that also still has all the factory plastic on the seats & wheel. They refuse to sell it though.
XCAR ! XCAR ! HOW CAN I THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR MAKING A NSX VIDEO ?!?!?! But really, how did you get you hands on a Type R ??? I clearly wasn't expecting to see one there ! Thank you so much for the video !
New information for me, 7500 redline. Was that because it was a automatic? I know that the automatic had 20 less HP and came with electric power steering. I bought a ‘91 a few years ago, had to wait 22 years to afford one. The original owner paid 83K, 23K over list (22nd one in the US). Crazy $$ at the time. Have the NSX cell phone, looks like a home wall phone.
It’s amazing how so many people on these NSX videos don’t mention a key historical fact. At the time, Japan had a HP restriction by law hence the low HP. So what Honda decided to do is focus all its engineering on the handling and that’s where it competes with other super cars of its era.
Cars back then: did everything in their power to put you on the edge of control and chaos at high speeds, gave unprecedented feel of the road and vehicle Cars today: nap in your automatic chair while your transportation robot carries you down the highway
Great work as usual +XCARFILMS. Could you please do a video on the Nissan Skyline GT-Rs, preferably the R32, R33, R34 all together or just the R34 GT-R.
@XCARFilms - can U also add the names of the songs you use, in the description? Most of them are quite nice tunes but most of the time, due to the angelic engine philharmonic S hazam can't do it's magic . Either way, I'm still your fan.
Well I'm sure you could find a way of registering the car. But with the headlights not at legal height, and the vehicle now modified beyond NTSA testing of that model, you would likely have to register it as a kit-car/custom, and pay for the required inspections prior to registration following your local laws. And then deal with every cop that decides to pull you over and if they give you a ticket, they may be wrong, but you still have to spend time in court.
Here in New Mexico it has become fashionable to tint headlights, so the day glow running lights are in colors. Some cops don't care, some give a ticket, others are impounding the cars until they are fixed... lights and seatbelts are things that some cops say are completely illegal to change from stock configuration.
One of my fav cars of all time. But i don't like that the NSX of 2002 doesn't have the pop-up lights, it loses personality without them.
+Skytoucher The pop-up headlights had to be dropped to meet new legislation.
+Ian Davidson wow, i didn't knew that. That's a shame.
+Skytoucher "it loses personality without them"
add "in my opinion"
If you didn't knew, the pop-up headlights are like air brakes, and in my opinion it looks much better with the updated ones.
+Skytoucher i prefer the non pop up model personally ;)
pop-up lights are seriously overdue for a modern comeback.
+steve j Sadly never going to happen
+Rentta always wondered why. is it some shitty safety ruling because the mechanism can fail?
+tr0n It's for pedestrian safety
And aerodynamics
I remember seeing early model preludes with a broken flip up light. meaning only 1 light would flip up lol
gen 1 NSX type R...dream car right there
Worst car ever. TATA Indigo is much better choice
Still a beautiful car after all these years.
1999 Acura NSX. The only sports car in my garage, my favorite car of all time. Also, pop ups rule
One of the few cars that blows me away more in person than in photos.
15 minutes of NSX = Good.
Car of racing god
I always thought the best drivers cars from Japan were the NSX, S2K, and RX7.
The GTR is also incredible.
One of the coolest cars ever. Never get bored of watching and learning about these things. Great film.
I absolutely love my Lotus but I've been having my eye on an NSX especially now that the new generations going to come out.
Like before I watch. Why? Because NSX.
+Omar Chakkour Actually did the same thing :)
There's just something really unexciting about the 2017 NSX.Im sure it'll be fast, and the flappy paddle 9-speed will be flawless, but will it have the same sort of spirit as the first generation? it is a nice car but it looks nothing like the original versions
mojostevo couldn't have said it better myself
The old NSX has this timelessness in styling. Well there is a motor show holding around my place so I guess I'll go and see the new NSX in flesh, hopefully not be disappointed.

Oh yes, I remember the playing gran turismo with the NSX. Good video lads.
Timeless.
The first-gen NSX Type-R was mentioned, but not the second-Gen NSX-R GT with huge engine air-scoop?
+Ian Davidson 13:30
+Baudewijn Berte Ahh, good point, thank you! :-) With hindsight, it was the NSX-R GT I meant, not the NSX-R.
+Экспертное Подразделение Диванных Войск! all NSX-R GT came with the scoop out the factory so yes it is stock
+Stephen C i was gonna say that, the scoop is stock, my neighbor bought a white nsx-r gt (bone stock besides wheels and air suspension), super clean, guy also owns a red wide body fd rx7. makes me jealous every time i drive by in my e36.
im Schwaggy damnn how did he get his hands on it?? There's only 5 ever built for the public
👍 for pop up headlights 🚗
Best NSX Video I seen so far great job.
Yes I did about every video there is on New Civic Type R. I can't wait to make to the States. It's only going to get better for Honda with Hatch, Si, and Type R.
Great review love my car had it for 26years now it's a keeper 92nsx red😎
The best thing about the classic NSX; It was designed by *Pininfarina*; the same design firm that was most famous for its partnership with Ferrari.
Subscribed. Thank you so much for possibly the most beautifully shot reviews ever done of the car. I can never sell MY04. Again THANK YOU!
Gran Turismo, and Gordon Murray.. nuff said to the testament of this car.
I saw one of these on my way to school this morning
The NSX and the Mk4 Supra Turbo are my favourite Japanese sports cars
As a Ferrari fan, i find this car a nessecary spank in Ferrari's history. Without it, my favorite car, the F355, would not exist.
I've always been a fan of the Honda .the nsx 91 my favourite
Love my 1992 NSX since new, with it's manual transmission. When the new NSX arrived with it's hybrid engine and automatic transmission... I ran out and bought a Corvette Grand Sport with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION baby! Sorry Honda you completely blew it.
Lots to explain while you have a smile on your face.
That NSX-R is probably my dream car, well at least until the new one comes out (better be good)!
Jonathan Wright sorry your dream car didn’t change
This car has the best lines and a dream car for me.
Senna is a huge NSX fan.
IS???? you know he died Decades ago???
Stunning report, loved it, good work.
Best NSX review on YT as always you da man.
Yesss some throw back. XCAR you're doing it right
Such a modern marvel. if i could afford one i would buy it. It also is amazing at how bad Acura NA messed up the new one. I guess that is what happenes when you development team only plays video games. i wish they would just re release these exact cars with a modern interior. Perfect car

im Schwaggy The new CTR is prepared for 4WD bodywise and the rear knuckles as well. Check Hasport VTEC Academy.
Civic can still be FWD, all I want is Honda making another RWD car from scratch
Come on u can't just give up on the pop-up headlamps! is the coolest feature u can have on your car!
Alex you're a great reviewer but maybe some racing school training will bring your driving skill up and help with the car dynamics side of reviewing
agreed on that. would be nice to hear the engine screaming a bit, not just pottering around.
The Opinionator
I'm hearing you. Chris Harris and the like will ring this things neck and give you a feel for what it does on the limit. Which is what this car is about
Watch Top Gear. They push cars so hard, they break them!!! Love that show. :D
I still see some of these driving around where I live. Definitely still an eye catcher. #Oldschoolcool
NSX prices in the US have definitely been getting even higher lately. There was one on the dupont for $100,000.....
yea theyve skyrocketed. i dont know how high they can go though.
+SoCalSupercars i saw a 1992 with only 2,500 miles on autotrader going for $111,000. it even still had the original plastic carpet liners that the manufacturer put in

SoCalSupercars
hah i actually used to own a 2006 evo mr.
This is because of the classic car increase, soon this will be looked back as an icon like the Toyota 2000GT
Amazing NSX review!!
A true legend. Excellent car!
XCAR ! XCAR ! HOW CAN I THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR MAKING A NSX VIDEO ?!?!?! But really, how did you get you hands on a Type R ??? I clearly wasn't expecting to see one there ! Thank you so much for the video !
I take the red one ! One of my dream car for a very long time...
I just realized the NSX type-R was the whit car in Top Gear racing for SNES..... fuck the new cars, i'm purchasing an NSX
Love these cars, thanks for giving it such a thorough review.

Always a pleasure to watch
The orange one is the same NSX from the Car Throttle video!
This NSX, specially with pop up headlights is still better looking than the new 2017 second gen. That NSX-R wowwww
honda nsx....toyota supra.......and my favorite one...nissan 300zx...great cars all of them!!!
one of the best cars ever built
Woii great video. NSX is so cool.
14:30 this is a shot from a beta version intro sequence i think
It’s amazing how so many people on these NSX videos don’t mention a key historical fact. At the time, Japan had a HP restriction by law hence the low HP. So what Honda decided to do is focus all its engineering on the handling and that’s where it competes with other super cars of its era.

1992 Japan R and Alex Zanardi and Second Generation R 😍
Great work as usual +XCARFILMS. Could you please do a video on the Nissan Skyline GT-Rs, preferably the R32, R33, R34 all together or just the R34 GT-R.
a genuine practical daily drive supercar
can you do one of these for the rx7 since the rx9 is coming soon
Anyone know the name of the song at 13:10? Seems like a legit song to cruise a canyon with.
When was this video made? I thought the new NSX was already out? Some guys were reviewing it in the US, and they seemed quite underwhelmed by it.
@XCARFilms - can U also add the names of the songs you use, in the description? Most of them are quite nice tunes but most of the time, due to the angelic engine philharmonic S hazam can't do it's magic . Either way, I'm still your fan.
Yes! First one! Been waiting for this for so long!!!
Waiting for NSX not the comment 😛
Oh man, this just made me even more hyped for the new one!
If I ever have a boatload of money to blow, the NA1 NSX would be my very first purchase!!!
Now, review the LFA and 2000GT please?
XCAR please do one now for the s2000 ap1 and ap2 and maybe a nissan silvia s15 spec R 😱😱😱 please please 😋😋
I love how the British like to keep them in original condition.
Anyone know what song is playing in the background in the beginning? Besides darude?
how did honda make a v6 sound so good? I guess the way they make an inline 4 sound so good.
What is the song at 0:22? It is a really cool beat.
Great review m8
this reminded me so much of top gear uk
Not to mention that orange color is ridiculously rare are incredibly pretty in person
NSX = 'Named Senna Xclusive'
There is a new NSX Model ... when will you be shown that ???
NSX is the perfect car to demonstrate how much better cars could look...than they could after making pop-up headlights illegal.
They are illegal on modern cars but not on classics, right?
if the car was made with them, as original equipment, they are allowed. But no new car can have them, and a car cannot be modified to have them.
+KelvinSmoke why? What crime would that be? Illegal mod?
Well I'm sure you could find a way of registering the car. But with the headlights not at legal height, and the vehicle now modified beyond NTSA testing of that model, you would likely have to register it as a kit-car/custom, and pay for the required inspections prior to registration following your local laws. Great car-the new one has a lot to live up to!
Thumbs up for this one definitely 👍🏼
Japanese hero ... 1989・1990-2006 's NSX.
This is top gear quality program
art
great video
Amazing!
Can someone tell me the name of that wrist watch?
+SaKuLification I think that is a Mondaine
Yup. Mondaine.
www.picpicx.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/a38ae111c9a7d9878091b480650212f5.jpg?63bea7
Well done!
Lovely video! One question that has nothing to do with the cars :P
Can someone tell me the watch he is wearing?
It may be a Daniel Wellington but I'm no watch aficionado
I’m in love
NA1R....theres perfection right there
A very elegant car !
Does anyone know the name of the music that starts at 0:22 ? Thanks a lot for the help :)
Pedro Ala did you find the name of the song? I am also looking for it.
Literally Top gear...
what's the background song in the beginning?
Honda should remake this nsx. Upgrade the engine with more performance . They could sell loads of them .
Prices on the NSX have pretty much bottomed out. It's all appreciation from now on.
