Great review. Love the blade with the coating stripped off. I bet your viewers would love some shots of the African bush as part of your reviews.

Have you listened to the new live album from Dire Straits bassist John Illsley? Including Once upon a Time in the West, Money for Nothing and Romeo and Juliet...

Good video! A little trick is that you can use a heat gun or boiling water and shrink the plastic insert in the sheath to fit tighter to the blade. 5 minutes with a heat gun, and my rattles and loose knife problem went away.

One more, alot of people, change handles, and get Micarra Handles, or do what you mention, I've been out in the rain, building shekters, and cutting a bunch of stuff, but, I never found the Grivory Handles to slip, even though they do feel smooth, if you Google Grivory Material, it is a very strong, and durable material, but, the ergonomic design of the handle, which in my opinion, is one of the best designs, I have NO problems with slippage, no warping, and it's pervious to solvents, actually very good stuff, Cold Steel used it for a very long time on some of their knives, it is a proven handle material, I actually like it, although my favorite is G-10, only because it's made similar to Micarta, but it uses fiberglass instead of cloth, my second choice, is Grivory.

Hey bro, you don't need carbon steel to strike a ferro rod. That's a myth or a misunderstanding. You can strike ferro rods with stainless steel . You only need carbon steel to generate sparks if you're using a flint . People tend to get it mixed up sometimes.

Say Heah Andrea, Yeah, I really enjoy using my Becker's Set when I want to take out my BK-7, which I teamed my BK-17 and the Ka-Bar Swabbie. When I take that trio, I don't use any other chopper, but I will take my Wicked Tough Saw as a add-on to that set. The Swabbie and the BK-17 are attached to my backpack with the BK-17 attached to my front strap on my backpack. I have all three in the nylon sheath's with pouches. I also replaced the toxic green handle to the black slabs that came with the Swabbie so it doesn't look like a toy anymore but a formatable chopper. which it is. As we both know, the BK-7 is so well balanced and made that it is lite in your hand, a far cry how my other knives in that 7" size knives chop. Don't get me wrong, My BK-7 is a very good knife and when I scout out a new area, I like using that set up because I can clear a path even when I get into a thicket or brambles. It's a 12" blade that in a pinch it works out great using my Swabbie. The Tweeners BK-17 is like having just the best part of a Bowie to do my fine work, It's just the right size and surprisingly a great matching set, even the tip of the Swabbie matches those Bk-7- BK-17 Knives. Yeah, I really enjoy using this particular set. In the warmer weather usually there is plenty of smalls around that I can make a fire and we don't have to make a fire to stay warm, Just fir cooking instead of candle lit dinner, It's a small camp fire heh heh heh, Yrah, Abdrea, I approve of our BK-7.

If you have a Map of the Whole 48 States in front of you, Look towards your left with Canada to the Nofth. You will see 5 Large Lakes called the Great Lakes, They are one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Lake Erie will run ling, Well once you find Lake Erie, Right on the Northern part of the State of Ohio is Cleveland Lake Erie seperates us and Canada. It's about 70 miles across abd we are also know as the Walleye Capital of the Workd. Lake Erie in the Summer is one big Playpen a boating lake, a Walleye is in the Pike Family, a cross between a Lake Perch and a Pike, but a very taste fish..and fished alot, 3 -5 lbs is a good catch. Our Metro Park system in Northern Ohio is called the Emerald Necklace and surround me,, We have a nice plush wooded area caked the Metro Parks or tge Emerald Necklace. It's a flat state and very good for agriculture, Ofcource it takes water to make steel so we have Mills and automobile industry here in Cleveland. We also support a Professional team in Cleveland except in hivkey, We use to but the State does supports a hockey team in another city in outer State, I think in Columbus our Capital. Two years ago Ohio State University my Alma Matter won National Title in College Football (American Football). But we have many colleges in the State and Cleveland has a very good Arts, as well as a Zoo. As much as people complain about my State. It's a darn good State, And I'm proud to be a Buckeye, Our State Tree, Our Ohio State University Buckeyes, Go Bucks !!!

Actually, my favorite go to knife set are my Swamp Rat's, coincidently, my Busse knife set are within a 1/2" of my Swampies, I do like the Deferentially Temper, as one of my favorite steel, but, I really enjoy my Becker BK-7, it's 1095 CroVan is great stuff, in fact Custom Makers that use the CroVan Steel, charge alot for the knives, since I find the BK-7, as a light chopper, and yet a little too big for using it on finer jobs, I became a 3knife carry guy, again although my Swampies are my go to knives, I really like my Becker knives, I have 4 set's of BK's, one of my favorite, besides my BK-10, and my BK-9, I really luv my BK-17, BK-7, and the Ka-Bar Swabbie, the Swabbie is an excellent chopper, where the BK-7 leaves off, and my BK-17, takes over on the finer work, comparing the 1995 CroVan, to the Deferentially Tempered 52100 Ballbearing Steel, is noticeable on longer uses, the 52100 is similar to the 5160, but with more Carbon, don't get me wrong, my Becker's are excellent too, and my 3knife carry with the BK-7, is a very close matching set, the tips are similar, so the set makes it a very attractive set, I use the BK-7 set alot, and I find the set very useful on everything I do in the woods, one thing I didn't mention, I carry a neck Knife around my neck, I don't consider it as the 4th knife, but, with the scales I put on the BK-14, it add's another demension to the BK-14, I really enjoyed your video, I think we both have a great knife, Thanx Alot M8.

Looks like the tip was broken and repaired on that bk7. Mine is a lot pointier. I'll have to try the boiling water on the sheath insert trick. That insert is way too sloppy for me.

The intersectional ridge of the primary grind and the swedge should run to the very tip. Your intersectional ridge falls considerably below the tip for some reason, so I think you hand-milled the swedge and overdid it. The spine is very badly pitted, too; did that Jasco do that?
