I have this knife and I love it. If people feel the need to "modify" the BK9, then maybe it's not the perfect knife for them. I keep my BK9 just the way it is, I leave the coating on because winters here in Canada are harsh so there will be a period of not using this knife and if I took the coating off, it will rust. I will however look into buying a custom made Kydex sheath for my BK9. Aside from that, I love mine and keep it just the way it is.
I just got mine two days ago, and yea! Watching you pause to just skin that sapling between chopping it down reminds me of what I LOVE about this blade. Light for it's size, a GREAT trimmer, fine work knife (FOR THE SIZE), and one hell of a chopper. There is just something "Right" about this blade! The balance, the thickness, that handle shape make for a very special big blade. I have some Micarta scales coming for mine, (For me, the stock one's are a bit slippery)....But other than that, one HELL of a camping, outdoor all around big blade!
MrDavo1959 im glad to hear y'all like the bk9, i bought the bk39 a few days ago! by the way, the bk9 and the bk39 are the same thing but different coating, sheath, and handle scales.
I got my Junglas not too long ago. You certainly know it's on your belt when sheathed. It's my favorite knife out of all the knives I have or have used, it makes cutting pretty effortless with all that heft. My only gripe are the micarta handle scales they come with, they give a good grip but get dirty very easy so I bought the G10 handle scales with a palm swell for it.
Thanks for the very informative remarks -- I will look at the palm swell grips. We will also strip the blade in the near future of the Black Protective coating on the blade. Andre
Great video bud... I have, like you seen many BK9 videos here including PM101 and Gideons Tactical which are great videos as well. I have or have had all of the BK series knives, but still haven't pulled the trigger on this. Again nice job...
Say Heah Andrea, Yeah, it's defenetly a good one, Infact I paired mine off with the BK-10, I also added the BK-14, but I put the scales on it, even though I use it mostly as a neck knife, the the scales add another demension to it, Thanx for a good review, Thanx. ,,, ,,, ,,,
Thank You Andrea, It's been a while. I since then added a few more to my stable of Busse Combat and Swamp Rat, Infact I expect my RatWeiler in tomorrow's delivery, Then I ordered some Mora's that will be coming nrxt, I ordered a Mora 510 their making the new ones thinner which I like better anyeays, then the Classic #1 and their selling a combo The Mora 2000 and the Mora Hatchet for a reasonable cost but I got mine in the army green and I also a Bacho Laplander to make a lite trio and I fell in love with the Mora Forest Exclusive Series the #277 I will get the other maybe next month and they also came out with a Mora Garber which is a full tang that I'm going to get. My Exclusive has a laminated blade and I will wear it as my neck knkfe, well one of my neck knives, Thanx for the reply, Cheers
