Thirty-one years ago a small band of wildly creative people came together from around the globe to create a little indie wonder that blew up in theaters all around the world. However, bringing the turtles to life was no small feat. Each turtle required 4 different collaborators: "The Puppeteer", "The Man In The Suit”, “The Stuntman” and finally “The Voice Actor”. All four played an integral part in bringing Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael to life. 30 years later the fans still crave the nostalgia of this slightly dark and sweet tale of four ass-kicking turtles and their zen-master-rat-father, Splinter. This video call series tells the untold and never heard before stories of how the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came to the big screen.

Mikey also was the first to refer to April as "Sis".
Mikey actually said "She's a babe!" He said that after Leo said "The girl is a fox."

That's so true...but there'll never be another April like Judith, and the voices man....Shredder, Splinter, the turtles....this is as perfect as the TMNT will ever be. This was lightning in a bottle. It happened at the right time and it was MEANT to happen. No matter how great future films can be, it'll never be as memorable as this one.
For sure she is forever the best April. And the best cast for sure. As bad as the new ones were, I gotta say I thought the turtles voices and rapport was the only thing going for them.

They really screwed up by not keeping Judith for the second and third films. She was always my favorite, but I didn't know that she was still so involved. It was really amazing of her to organize this.
It was her choice to leave. She felt the first movie was too violent for young kids.

She was actually right to leave, most sequels are junk. Bridgette Wilson didn't even reprise her role as Sonya Blade for the Mortal Kombat sequels and the same reason applies.

TMNT was my favorite movie when I was 6 years old. I'm almost 38 now and it still remains at the top of my list for favorite movies.

This was so dope! Really enjoyed this. I closed my eyes a few times, t could picture every scene. I was born 1983... so TMNT was life or death at one point lol one of the highlights of my childhood is when my mom took me to see this film, those were the days!
You guys really need to be involved in the reboots going forward, even a dark animated cartoon with the original voice actors would be dope. None of the other tmnt films live up to the original 1990 film. The tone of this film was pretty heavy for a kids film, that’s what made it great!! It didn’t feel censored. I miss the 80’s and 90’s.

The Original Ninja Turtles movie is one of my favorite Ninja Turtles movie because it was a mixture of the 1987 series and the mirage comics with slight differences!!!
This honestly made me cry. My childhood resurrected for 43 minutes and enjoyed every minute of it. I am just disappointed that Elias Koteas wasn't apart of this, but still this was outstanding. And I was watching it with my meatlovers x large pizza + wings :D

Omg! Kevin Clash and James Saito, just hearing them do the voices gave me chills. They were so amazing. And that movie was truly my very first favorite. There was a time I could quote every single lines from the movie.

I was three years old when this movie came out and it literally, along with TNG, defined my childhood in the 90s.

(Man, how did they clean up those clips??? I have the bluray and it's grainy compared to those clips - nowhere near on that quality.)
Also, the fact Judith Hoag isn't in the others is part of the reason those other films are difficult for me to acknowledge. The first one is perfection.
They added to the end with an announcement that tmnt will be coming back to theaters in the fall. That's cool. Turtle power!

This film was one of the best TMNT movies. When I watched it at the theatres as a kid. It was something that was a dream come true. The tone of the movie and music was amazing.
There's no way Judith Hoag wouldn't allow her likeness rights for NECA to produce the April O'Neil figure later this year. Her love of the film & fans is too strong. Thank you Judith ❤
This session is EPIC. This really touched my heart seeing these uber talented people who worked on a film that was so crucial to my childhood. TMNT is STILL one of the best films ever made, as far as I'm concerned.
Karate Kid 1&2 is #1 and TMNT 1&2 is 1A in my fave all time movies
The dude who played Michaelangelo also played the delivery boy who couldn't find 122 1/8, dude who played Raph also played the dude in the cab who was going to LaGuardia and the dude who played Leonardo also played the foot soldier who slapped April in the Subway.

Thank you for this. As a kid I watched this movie over and over. My favorite film ever made to this day.
This shows exactly why the original worked and the new one didn't. they wonted to make the movie and worked hard on it. Michael Bay and the people who maid the new movie didn't care less and it was all a quick cache grabb. How the TMNT actors were treated on the Michael Bay film was also disgusting .
I think the guy they brought in to do the sequel to the reboot, Dave Green, seemed to at least bring some level of passion to it. Not a perfect movie by any means, and it relied more on nostalgia for the Fred Wolf cartoon than love for the comic, but at least someone seemed to care about something, which is more than can be said for the Jonathan Liebesman movie that preceded it, which really delivered less than the bare minimum. The worst aspects of Out of the Shadows were really what it inherited as a sequel.

I never knew Splinter was inspired by Lt. Castillo and Mr. Miyagi. As a huge fan of all three, looking back over 30 years later, it’s clear their unique qualities have left a lasting impression on me and continue to inspire. Thank you!
Kevin Clash doing to recreate his splinter voice isnt quite the same now, he actually sounds like almost the same as James Averys voice when he voiced shredder in the original animated series

My sons name is Turtle. He was born Ryan but his name has always been Turtle. I remember around 10 years ago Turtle and I were shopping at Best Buy when I called him out loud to come look at some headphones. A few minutes later one of the employees asked me if I just called him Turtle… I said yes, he said it was so cool of a name. I also got glimpse of Entourage show and one of the characters name is Turtle. Made me smile. Because I love my Turtle.

I was born 3 years before it came out! I gladly grew up with this movie in the 90's! As a kid growing up, I had a big crush on Judith Hoag and had hundreds of dreams of her being my Big Sister! I finally got to meet her in 2019, and we quickly became Best Friends and also became Brother and Sister! Just a few days ago we saw each other again, and she Remembered my Name! I just couldn't believe she remembered me! She was curious to know how her Little Brother was doing and was glad to hear he's gotten better since the Pandemic! Thanks for being my Big Sister Judith!

The best live action Turtles movie of all time. All they were missing was the Technodrome and the turtle van.
I love that all the main actors did this zoom call 30 year anniversary for the teenage mutant ninja turtles 1990 movie line reading which is awesome. Josh pais's son did a great job as casey. I would love it if these original actors returned for either a forth live action teenage mutant ninja turtles movie or a reboot of the first movie but with only the oringinal actors because they are awesome. Kevin clas as awesome as splinter, james saito was so awesome as shedder, and the turtles were awesome as well. Raphael is my favourite teenage mutant ninja turtle, the director of this movie is awesome too

This is fantastic! I was 8 when the movie came out, I loved it and watched it so many times over the years. I'm 41 now and I watched it just last week, I realised I know the entire movie word for word! 😂 It was so good to hear the cast and crew reading the script, I thoroughly enjoyed it! It's my favourite movie of all time, even to this day and my favourite of all three Turtles films. Shredder was my favourite character in the movie, I loved how he was portrayed, so it was brilliant to see James Saito, what a great job he did! All these guys are amazing! John Du Prez is a musical genius, as a musician myself, I am obsessed with the music in this film, especially Shredder's Suite! 💕💕

This is great! I really enjoyed it! I loved seeing the cast together being excited to see each other talking about some of their experiences on setand reading the lines from the movie. This is one of my absolutely favorite childhood movies.
Happy 30th Anniversary to the real live action Ninja Turtles Movie this year in 2020. I met Judith Hoag (April), Corey Feldman (Voice of Donatello), and Robbie Rist (Voice of Michaelangelo). In Loving Memory of Jim Henson (1936-1990) who help created the Real Ninja Turtles. I can't believe he died about a month after the first movie came out. We all really miss him alot.
