Looks better than the original. I noticed that you left out the auxiliary power in the instrument panel. Two holes on the LHS. I have the male fitting and used to use it with a coil heating element to make a cup of tea when I had my Series 2a way back in 1971. If you want it, it’s yours. Cheers. 👍🏻🙏🦘

Thanks Grahame I have now fitted those aux plugs. I remember them from when I was a kid, my mom used to run her hair drier off them 😂. I think I have the male plugs, if I don’t I will shout.

This is going to be beautiful!
Surprising the wiring harness came with no instructions or all connectors needed.
Speaking as a retired aircraft mechanic, I would remove that ring especially when connecting power.⚡️

Yes it is looking good, I’m loving how it’s coming together. Thanks for all the support and the tip on the ring 😬

    You Sir are a Diamond!
Literally just set about the wiring in a 58 Series 1 with the 2.25 engine.
I have the exact same loom from Autosparks and like you said there are no junction boxes or connectors as part of the kit. The one I am building was fire damaged so i have no referance to where anything goes so your video is a massive help to me. Looks like I need to make another list for flasher units and connectors.
Thank you very much for your video.

You've lost me after the second yellow wire...
    Thank's for Autolec guy's 😮😮😮
    Coming on good, Alan. 👊🏻
The electricals of my 107" is scary...looks like a Ha Di Da's nest, with a bit of Crow interior...
I can even see a double white cable that you used for bedlamps in the 60's running from the back to the front...
Everything works, I don't know how...
    Neat job you're doing...
    👍🏻 🇿🇦 👍🏻

This wiring pushed me to the limit, I don’t know what it is but I just don’t get electrics. But it’s done now and I’m happy I don’t have a crows nest 😂

Looking good. You have a different horn to my 107". I'm going to have to search the net for photographs of where it is usually mounted.

We call them Freeze plugs. Ugh. At least not a terrible set back. Great video

Interesting all the names for these plugs. It was disappointing but could have been a lot worse, long forgotten now

Beautiful job. I am 1 year into the restoration of a series 2a 88”. If my project comes out half as good as yours I’d be happy! Where did you purchase the wiring loom?

Thank you very much, I also have a 2A 88” waiting to be redone they are my favourite landies. I got my harness from Autosparks.Co.uk. Thanks for watching and commenting and good luck with that restoration

I think the hooter ( horn in some parts of the world) should be brown and black, have you got the correct loom?

    • @TheOverlandLegend
      @TheOverlandLegend  3 місяці тому

Mine is correct for a 107 with the hooter in the steering column, and the wiring is green and black but on the 109 with the push button hooter it is brown and black as you say. Turns out I am not using the original hooter on the steering wheel but still have the original wiring colours now. Thanks for highlighting that.
