The first test drive of my Land Rover Series 1 107 restoration seemed like a circus at times

In all the vehiles our family built over the years, that first rolling chassis drive is aways epic. Its great to see another old abandoned Landy getting back on the road again.

So i have a scar on my ancle from the excitement of first driving something. Unpinned pin on the brakes fell out and i gently hit a wall. Lesson, check and re check. Mark stuff that you know needs final; checking. Like "NO OIL" stickers. Have fun and glad to see it rolling. Well done sir

You clearly understand the excitement involved in the mad rush to drive. That is a very good idea with marking stuff, I have subsequently made a list. Now busy with tightening up and finishing off more bits and some more fixes unfortunately but still a major step forward. Thanks for the support

Leaking diff, spongy brakes, air conditioning working perfectly!
    Life is good!👍 I love it!🙏
Don’t get your pants caught in the prop shaft! That would be bad.😳

Excellent! I'm looking forward to the same day I take mine for a drive (still waiting for parts!!!!!).. I noticed you still have a dip switch fitted to the floor panel but I had thought you repaired the dip switch on your steering wheel? I have my floor panel blanked off now. Your air cleaner/filter is different to mine.

The steering dispswitch was a long story, bottom line is I upgraded to a later steering box because I have for 7.50x16 tyres so went to the floor dispswitch. Sold my other steering assembly to a friend who is doing an 80”. May air cleaner is the standard on for 2.25l , it’s a bit bigger than and one from the 2.0l engine

Seeing it like this made me wonder, if you would leave off the wings and mount steer-along mudguards, it would look a bit like a Scammel truck.
Im not proposing you do so, but I've never seen it done before.

If I may ask, why tubed tires?

The rims I have are standard and are not suitable for tubeless. I’d prefer tubeless but the I’d need other rims.
