Hey You Guys! I am more than excited to show you this brand new *Vitamix Ascent X-Series (X5)*. I would love to hear your comments and feedback on the video, and about this new Vitamix. No sales pitch in this video. The Real, The Skinny and no holding back. Hopefully this will help you make an informed decision. I will say that the X5 is perhaps the “Apple” of Vitamix machines. Please hit that 👍🏾and support my work via the included links below the video. ***EDIT***: @03:00 I mentioned that if you have the 8oz blending bowl and/or the 20oz blending cups they would work with the new X-series. They do not work with the new X-series. Since they were discontinued Vitamix opted not to include them in the compatible accessories list.
Hi Henry, I consider you as THE trusted reviewer for kitchen high end tools. I have the A3300 that I love it. I have it paired up with the stainless steel jug. As you had suggested and I agree, there is no need to upgrade. That being said, I'm glad to see that Vitamix is continuing to release new products.
Right on! Thank you so much. My viewers such as you deserve an honest review. The A3300 is an absolutely solid machine. Continue to enjoy it for years to come. Not everything new is "better". ❤️🙏🏾
Thanks for your informative videos. This is the first I heard that Vitamix dc’d the 8 oz & 20 oz cups. I use them a lot, so am glad I got them when I got my new A3500 1 1/2 years ago. At the next big sale after that I got the food processor and all the attachments/containers I wanted. I use my machine nearly daily and absolutely love it.
Thank you so much!! Your review is wonderful and honest and I’m so glad I found it. I truly appreciate how you went thru the features and did the blends with the programs without following vitamix recipes because you’re right, we have our own recipes that we want to work. I love my A3500 and won’t be upgrading anytime soon. Thank you again!!
Great video as usual, Henry! Really appreciated the detailed, in-depth review. Especially the unedited sound. I would also add that I could see that this machine would be for those that want most of the benefits of the A3500, but don't have the space. I think this would be great for an apartment with little storage or an RV for camping trips. I prefer actual switches/buttons vs touch capacitive buttons. And I think the screen is just gimmicky unless it's a countdown timer. (I'm a Venturist owner) So I think the X2 is the way to go. Capacitive buttons/LCD screens are a possible failure point rendering the machine entirely unusable. With buttons/switches you are less likely to have such an issue, I think. Additionally, like you point out, the presets can't work magic. So I think the X2 with less presets isn't a drawback in the slightest. The cleaning preset is the only one I ever use anyway. One additional comment I would make is the price at the time of filming (that can always change with seasonal deals). The price of the X5 of $750 is pretty outrageous and the price of the X2 at $550 is likewise quite high. So if you can get a Venturist or an A2500 or A3500 package, it's a better deal. Just my 2 cents!
Thanks Henry. Great video. Informative. I like the look of the X5. However I have an A3500 and really like how it has a timer and has the ability to use the perfect blend app. Both of those features I use frequently.
Right on Susan! Thanks for watching. You have an amazing machine with the A3500. I mentioned earlier to another poster. Not everything new is better. It really depends on who's the target market. 🙏🏾
Thank you so much for this helpful video! I ordered the 3500 with stainless container during the Labor Day sale and then a few days later the X series was announced. The main reason I thought about maybe returning it and getting the X4 or X5 instead was for the possible improvement of noise output . Even though I like that the X is smaller I prefer the look of the 3500 since I am used to my Pro 500.
You honestly made a great decision to hold on to your A3500. The X-series and the Ascent series all look beautiful but owners of the A3500, in my opinion, should not get rid of it in favor of the X5.
Great video. Separate but brought up during the video, I didn't know the blending cup was discontinued. Its the main thing I use even though there is definitely room for it to improve; hopefully they'll come out with a new version.
Thank you for watching! Yes the 8oz bowl and 20oz blending cup were in fact discontinued a few months ago. You may continue using yours. The engineering costs were high for Vitamix.
@@BlendingWithHenry understandable, I do hope they come out with an improved blending cup or a smaller blender container (24oz or less) but i know the odds are probably low.
With Vitamix releasing this new X-Series unexpectedly anything in the future is possible. I'm not saying I know anything about new blending cups, just making a point. 😁
You are a real one for this review! I had recently purchased the a3500 right before the X series was announced. I was stressing, wondering if I should get the new one instead. Now I feel comfortable with my choice. The X series looks nice, but I like the features on the a3500. Thank you for this video!
I really want to see them add a vacuum and a sound isolation chamber. Now that being said, it does look awesome, but I’m gonna stick with my A3500 for now.
Just confirmed thoughts, thank you. I much prefer my a3500. I don’t like the look of the X5, reminds me of a the inside of a car. I don’t like the switch underneath, no cord wrap, not any quieter, the fact that the 10 presets only work with the 48oz container it comes with. I really don’t like that it comes with a 48oz. I use my 48oz a lot. BUT I need to have a 64oz too for larger blends. It is more expensive to buy an additional 64oz than it is to buy a 48oz container. Vitamix still priced the X5 top of their pricing, so in the end it will cost more to have both containers. I also dislike that they removed the programable timer. Then little tamper icon seems silly to me, especially since it’s not as though the machine is detecting that it needs it now because it’s struggling, but it’s rather just an icon that pops up no matter what. Plus, I’m not wanting to be looking at the screen and my blend back and forth the whole time. I will stick with my a3500. If in 10 or more years their new model is better, then I’ll upgrade.
I have to agree with you about the container that ships with it. At that price point, I think it's highway robbery not to ship with the full-size container. At least offer a choice with the price adjusted for each size.
Very helpful video Henry, I have the A3500 and the 750. like the design of the X series, not a fan of the changes such as the wrapping cord, switch moved to the bottom of the machine etc..I'll stick with the two models i have for now.
Like above. I paired my vitamix with the stainless steel container. It works perfectly 5 years later! The new one would have to be A LOT better. Which I doubt. Let’s put it this way, my vitamix scares my younger friends. (I’m 61, my friend in his early thirties jumps when he uses it).
Great job, as usual. In fact, when I learned of this release, I kept looking for your announcement. I have mixed feelings (and an A3500, which I like less than my 5200). For one thing, WHEN are they going to desist with the white-on-black graphics? They're SO '90s cell phone--how about a little color? I'm not sure how quiet people think an appliance with a 2 HP motor can be--a little reality check here. Good of you not to snow viewers. I'm going to respectfully disagree with you about enclosures because not only do they take up space but you can't tamp if your blender's enclosed. It drives me crazy that Vitamixes at those price points don't include 64-oz. containers. I've always said that the 48-oz. containers are perfect for those who think they'll never need anything larger but I, for one, prefer the option of making large batches. The 48-oz. container splash with smaller amounts, too (I hate mine). On the plus side, this is a VERY good-looking line (except for not being able to store the cord). I wish, though, that there were more color choices.
Thank you for watching Karen! I always appreciate you. ❤️. The reason I thought the 48oz was more ideal to be included is because I get a lot of comments on videos complaining that the 64oz requires too much ingredients for single-servings for efficient blending. But I can understand how people would prefer the larger 64oz container, and that's why I mentioned in the video that I love the original 64oz tall container. The sound enclosure idea I don't completely disagree with you about that. I actually mentioned its limitations in a Blendtec video. See here ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/qBVY5x4AE2c/v-deo.htmlsi=LH-J5fFMoI9rLzXo&t=326
I also love that idea about using color icons. That would certainly help make the user interface easier to view, especially for presets with recipes that have a specific color.
x4/x5 looks way cleaner and more modern than the a3500. I'd love to have it. Unfortunately, they are not available my country, and no ETA either. Since I need a blender immediately, I have no choice but to go for the a3500... I'd just have to convince myself that the perfect blend app is better... 🤣
@@BlendingWithHenry 100% agree! Also the A3500 doesn't look bad at all. X5 looks better but it kind of sacrifices minor functionality for it like the air vents and onoff switch being on the bottom. Both amazing blenders either way
I have the vitamix ascent 2500 and was looking to upgrade to the top of the line vitamix. Unfortunately the design of all the new x series are hideous and does not seem appealing to me so I’ll buy the all gold 3500
Thank you for your compliment. Glad you found my review helpful. And yes the new container with the rubber handle is compatible with the original Ascent models.

Does it shut off randomly? I had an issue with the explorian always shutting itself off after a short period of time and I had to wait for it to cool down I guess.
Hi, the Vitamix only shuts off when it's overheated. So if you're not blending at the highest speed the fan won't blow at the highest speed. For nearly everything you have to turn the speed all the way up to 10. Only when you're mixing in flavors do you use the lower speeds. For smoothies, nut butters, ice creams and the like you need to be on speed 10 for max performance and max cooling.
Funny the 3600 is still the better choice and still made as are the rest of the Accent line Having a programmable timer is more essential than any present .. Most of us won't follow the recipe book to aT.... For the next versions off the X models--app for tablet port phone to control fully, 4hp motor, a quiet shield that reduces the dN by 16.... Asking sound insulation on the case would be good. Night reduce sound by another 16 to 20dB.... Why hasn't this been dubbed?
The Pro 750, A3500 and X5 have built-in sound dampening materials to help reduce ambient noise. All three of these machines sound exactly the same. These models are slightly quieter than the 5200 and Explorian but at high speeds it really doesn't matter enough.
