@LINY The X5 is really cool but I think I'm gonna hold at 5 blenders for awhile. 3-Vitamix's and 2-Blendtec's. Vitamix in my opinion is a better blender. Make's a smoother smoothie, and is better for meal preparation in the kitchen.
I have a breville super Q and it’s a great blender that does all this and more. Was here being nosey to see what was upgraded and its not anything that says “must buy” especially needing to use a spatula with every use, which is why I chose breveille.
The noise factor, though. With my current blender, everyone runs off when I start blending. That’s not so much fun. A reduction in noise would certainly be something to get excited about.
As an A3500 owner significant reduction in base size and noise (especially noise) would be very compelling. Neither of which has been changed enough for me to make the jump. Five more programs is just not enough. The App by the way has 15 or so programs to choose from. Shrink the base a bit more and quiet it down in an noticable way (a cover defeats the size issue) and my A3500 would be on its way to a new home. Until then I'm good.
I think the fact that you only receive a 48oz container versus the 64oz that comes with the previous Ascent series will be a deal-breaker for many. This means you will need to spend an additional $170 if you want the standard larger container. Also while the body is now enclosed to help with sound, my understanding is that this uses the same motor as the previous Ascent series. I imagine this means the thermals inside will be much worse, which could possibly lead to reliability issues over the longer term. Vitamix has a great 10-Year warranty though, so it's probably not much of a concern for most people.
Thanks for the overview on the X5. I ordered a certified recon A3500 exactly a year ago, and it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made. I've used it to create dozens of blends from your recipes-smoothies, creamy wild rice soup, vegan queso, and of course, lots of green juice 💚 Could you please do an overview video of the Ascent X series that compares the different models? For example: as far as I can tell, the X4 and X5 appear to be nearly identical, save for the X5 having more steel in the base. Seems like trim options on the same model car.
The biggest difference between the X4 and X5 is the extra five programs. Looks like the steel on the base is identical between the two save for a few accents on the face. We are planning to get an X4 and an X2 to see how they all compare. We love hearing from customers like you and appreciate your belief in our work. Your journey with the A3500 sounds amazing! @@LINYThanks! The 48oz container that you’re using with the X5 seems to have a narrower profile at the base than the 48oz Ascent containers that have been available for a while. Interesting. Watched another well known reviewer and he said that it's absolutely not any quieter than the former model. And the 10 settings ONLY work with the 48 oz container, not any others. No cord keeper, same motor.
I would like to upgrade my very old 5200. Maybe I just need a new low profile container. Or I could go with the whole shebang and replace my cuisinart food processor. Does the vitamix have a very thin slice option? I prefer to have a white or gold appliance. No thank you to stainless steel, black, gunmetal, and gray. Red is better than any of those, but white and gold are best. Quiet is a really nice advantage.
I keep reading that the best container is the classic, tall 64 oz because of how well it blends. Better than the low-profile and any other geometry container. But that keeps me to mainly the 5200 model if I want to buy a Vitamix. Is this your experience as well? Have you compared the classic 64 oz vs this lower profile 64 & 48 oz containers?
Exactly. I just don’t understand why they don’t make an Ascent compatible tall, narrow base container like the one that comes with the non-Ascent models.
@nobahdy Because everybody want's them to fit under their cupboards. I stored my tall 64 ounce container and went with the 48 ounce container for use with my vintage TNC, and Legacy 5300 Blenders.
@@chevyguy6961 But is the 48" low profile have the same internal dimensions at the base where the blade assembly is? That's apparently the magic behind the tall 64" classic jar.

@LINY thank you. I have kept all my containers as I was always aware that they would spin. The issue is resolved if you just hold the container. As a single person, they are usually my go to.
Hey there, maybe someone has asked this before - but whenever you fire up the blender I notice the entire container twists atop the base, is this normal? Is this an X5 thing or all vitamix blenders have this behavior and its all good
Hi there. All Vitamix blenders are designed to have a bit of twist at the beginning of operation. This is so that it can hug the rubber posts on the landing pad tightly. It's certainly a unique things to see if you're used to blenders that properly lock down with a clamping design
Thanks but awful timing. We should have gotten early notification of the new lineup. I signed up for notifications. Recently, I returned a2500 bec it was too loud (volume is priority). Now I'm stuck with Pro Wolf blender that gives off a burning smell. Anyway to do a buyback (like cell & cable providers do) to get new ascent instead?
Just great. Another 4 new unnecessary blender models (X2,X3,X4,X5) to be confused about. It's as bad as what Apple does with their iPad and iPhone model proliferation.
As long as I can keep my vintage TNC, and Legacy 5300 Blenders running I'm not going to upgrade, I see no point in doing it. Maybe upgrade the containers as they wear out.
After the Blendtec container lawsuit Vitamix is being careful not to step on anybody patents. I've been looking at the Void Vacuum Blending System. Seems like a lot of extra work for $300. My blends are great now.
You're not alone in wanting vacuum blending technology! While Vitamix hasn't announced plans for a vacuum blender (and we're not sure they will), we understand the appeal. Vacuum blending can offer some interesting benefits. We're actually exploring this technology ourselves for a new project. Stay tuned to our channel - we might have some exciting news about vacuum blending options in the near future. We're always looking for ways to elevate the blending experience for our community.
I just bought the Void Vacuum Blending Systems Lid. I have an 80 ounce container from Alterna Jar that I will use with it. It will fit either a Blendtec, or a Vitamix. You just have to swap out the blade assemblies because Blendtecs run clockwise, and Vitamix's run counter clockwise. It'll be fun playing with the Void Vacuum System.
@@chevyguy6961 This is great info! Let us know how well the vacuum lid works. Just a heads up that folks were saying to "sandwich" any powders in the middle of fluids; if the powders are the top layer, the vacuum might pull them in and clog up.
We feel you! But don't worry, your A3500 is still a powerhouse that'll serve you well for years. New doesn't always mean necessary. Enjoy your blending adventures! 💪🥤

Lovely video! I don’t think I like this series, that dial would bother me bad 😂
It's one of those things you'd get use to and stop thinking about. Like how a mouse wheel toggles
How loud are X2, X3, X4 (Or at least X2, assuming the middle ones are similar)? Or is there another video coming out for those?
Hopefully soon, stick with us
Is the 48oz container that comes with X5 compatible with the Ascent series?
Yea
I see that you said that the 8 an 18 oz containers will work once re released, would the old ones for venturist and accent series work right away?
I believe so, yes, but not sure I'd recommend it since they were voluntarily recalled for safety
@LINY thank you. I have kept all my containers as I was always aware that they would spin. The issue is resolved if you just hold the container. As a single person, they are usually my go to.
@@LINYwhat was the issue with them? Haven’t heard about this, wanted the 8 oz bowls sad they didn’t seem to have them available anymore
They don’t improve what really needs improvement which is the noise level…
Hi there. I'm curious what from the video made you feel like they didn't improve noise level here?
I really want this one but its not yet available in Germany. :(
Hopefully soon. Thanks for watching!
Just great. Another 4 new unnecessary blender models (X2,X3,X4,X5) to be confused about. It's as bad as what Apple does with their iPad and iPhone model proliferation.
😂true
As long as I can keep my vintage TNC, and Legacy 5300 Blenders running I'm not going to upgrade, I see no point in doing it. Maybe upgrade the containers as they wear out.
Still waiting for Vacuum Blending from Vitamix...or is there just no interest or they can not compete with other Companies 🤔🤔🤔
There's a good video showing a hack using like $10 in hardware store parts (universal tub drain cover plus manual pump). It works!
Smh I just bought the 3500.
We feel you! But don't worry, your A3500 is still a powerhouse that'll serve you well for years. New doesn't always mean necessary. Enjoy your blending adventures! 💪🥤
We're sorry that page is missing.😞😞
Oh no! Which one? bit.ly/noyokeX5
👍👍👍
A knob that wobbles on a$10000(CAD) NEW blender??? Unacceptable!!!
Would be maybe depending$200k on a NEW Porsche 911 with a wobbly steering wheel or the wheels are out of alignment...
Gets a"certified reconditioned' ey
3500 and Dave a few hundred_... Any parts that need to be replaced well be brand new and you get a new container
Disappointing design to be honest, nothing like the usual primium Vitamix blenders
Let's turn down the "kind of" and "sort of" filler words. Be more confident in your speech!
This feels like you truly care about me improving as a presenter and for that, I thank you. -Lenny
