Thank you for sharing your stories. So dramatic! We're so glad you are better now. And the thoughtful points you make, developed with time, should be beneficial to those going through aortic dissection and A-Fib issues.
Good Day! Last Feb 2023 I had the same surgery with a FA 13 days after the operation in QC city and I was 48 years old... I was calm all the time and ready... I make sure to know enough about it but to let the internet down regarding the old process... All advise you give regarding time recovery is right... It took me around 8 months to recover as I expected...
I understand your anxiety waiting to hear the results of tests. I'm not sure that Dr's understand. I do believe you need to educate yourself about the conditions you have. Not to scare yourself but Dr's do make mistakes and overlook things. We watched my wife's aneurysm for a year before surgery, however the Dr's had already been watching it a year. Her aneurysm was found when they were diagnosing a mitral valve issue she was having. They also replaced her aortic valve, but didn't do anything about the ascending aorta aneurysm until it grew to 5.5 cm two years later. I regret not getting a second opinion. I have learned 2nd opinions and even 3rd opinions if it's not an emergency procedure.
Good job thank You for sharing
