Those little side panels I did the same thing when it comes to screwing them down. I did however line up the stickers with the cut out holes in the aluminum panels. When I got it all done the stickers gave the illusion of filters below the screens. I have monster fingers, so the tweezers were my best tool to hold each tiny nut to get it on top of each screw and after many failed attempts was able to get them all on. Scotch tape was used to temporarily hold the panels in place till the screw could do their job. Wish we could place pictures up here. That winch and the end result looked good!
I have a similar "sausage finger" problem. I used a small wooden stick with a small lump of blutak on the end, it was fantastic for getting the tiny nuts onto the back of all those tiny screws!
I think I've spent more on accessories than I did on the TRX-4! It sure can get expensive and in a hurry. Oh well, its all worth it when your on a trail out in the woods with your rock crawling buddies. I look forward to each and every trek. Thanks for your informative videos...
You should change out all 4 knuckles over to brass in black, both differentials from plastic to aluminum, and transmission from plastic to aluminum. Change rims to beadlocks and some beefer tires and metal drive shafts and brass sper gear cover and finally heavy-duty shocks. You must ditch the traxxas esc and motor for a castle creations mamba x esc and crawler motor. The castle creations offers a esc and motor as a kit for about $240 US and the kit comes with a card good for a wired link that plugs right into your PC. Trust me you want to check this kit out, there are so many settings such as, punch amount, torque amount, forward speed, reverse speed, brake, drag brake ramp, drag brake, start power, and so many other settings. This motor is a brushless sensored motor wish is far mare superior than brushed motors because you end up with precise throttle control and the drag brake on these motors are so strong that it will trx4 to do a forward flip upside down if you have the brake settings too much. Remember, for crawlers, the heavier the rig is the better. Have fun.
Doesn’t adding springs reduce the effect of limb risers? Seems like it would all the cable to become slack allowing a branch to hit the wind shield. Looks cool though, awesome build.
In real life, they don't have springs, just straight wire from the front bumper to the roof rack. One other tip is the hanging of metal chains or buckets off the side of the roof rack. If you are trying to go for realism then this is a no-no, as in real life it would destroy your rig not to mention make a terrible noise bashing around. Most items are stowed away or strapped down for this very reason. My tuppence worth is based on my 2 decades of real-life off-roading. Your Defender is looking good and is a blast to drive.
Would the canoe look odd if you just shorted the mid section or is that more tapered along its length than it looks on here? Just a thought, I’ve never done any 3D printing so I know nothing. A beautiful model you have there and tasteful mods. Trouble is I would never want it to tip at all, I suppose that’s the trade off when you deck it out yes? X
hi dave it is the correct length just looks big there is plenty of them around in stl format ive chosen not to fit one just as its a bit of a pain when i need to change the battery depends what you wand rock climber or that camping look
When you are adding these mods are you adding your own screw holes etc? New to this and don't know if its all made to screw in via instructions or its custom mounted?
On your last video when you were working on the winch, what was that thing you gave the winch temporary power from? I think it was 5vdc. What is the machine called? I have an idea. All I know is I NEED ONE!
@@Beta250trials Yes. That would be it. I wish I could send you a picture of my red TRX-4. I have almost full brass under the frame. Full light kit. I even have a visor for my light bar. I've tried all types of wheels & tires and the best I found came on the truck! Canyon Trail! I have the limb risers with springs. I love my TRX-4!
