    I was sure you would like the Pressure Cooker. We have had a small Cuisinart electric Pressure Cooker in our RV for years. Red Beans and Rice is one of our favorite. (Rice done is a Rice Cooker). Pintos come out fantastic as well and you do not have to watch the water level as steam does not escape. Give them a try and you will see what I mean. (Yes they are always better the next day when warmed up. But, that might just be a southern thing). You are looking great Chico.

    once a week I put about 5 pounds of potatoes in my PC and cook them up for the week. then I can cut them in quarters and prepare them with other things like scrambled eggs and fried potatoes for my husband for his lunches, I also quarter them and put them on a baking tray along with burgers in the oven and I usually add another vegetable to roast with them . Drizzle with Olive oil and sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake at 400 for 20 minutes. Yummy quick and easy. I love my PC

    My mom would cook her chicken in the pressure cooker with the ticker, then fry them to get them crispy. So good. I would give a million bucks to have her chicken again. I was hearing rain and thought it was raining outside my window haha.

    Looking good Chico... I read somewhere that when you get a little older, Like me for one, that you should not sit with your legs crossed. It was saying that sitting that way can cause blood clots to form and they can be very dangerous. I sit the same way and I am trying to get out of that habit. Don't remember where I saw the article, but just thought I would pass that tidbit along. By the way another great video. Thank you.

      Shell Bell To save even more money, get a pork loin and cut the chops yourself. I don't know if they are "center cut" chops or not but sure are delicious. In my area I save usually $1.50 or more per lb doing it that way and can cut the chops the thickness I want, plus you can leave a big chunk for a roast.

      So agreed! Going out to eat is a treat I don't do very often anymore. I wish I could enjoy myself when we do. Instead I worry over how much it costs and how I could make the same thing at home for a fraction of the cost and in a more natural way with less chemicals etc. Now my focus is on learning to make things on a camp fire. Having. Great time doing it!

    Looks good to me. I brown meat in my cooker, I use the "Brown/Sear" mode, before I pressure cook on the "Steak/Meat" setting. I don't think the "Soup/Stew" mode is hot enough for proper searing of the meat. I have an unboxing video of my cooker on my channel with a pulled pork recipe too and it comes out excellent. Keep up the good work!!

    Hey Chico, great video. My wife made me take the instant pot back because she didn't like it. Didn't even let me take it out of the box 😤. After this video she said I could go get one 🙄. Go figure! Seeing you do the happy dance made my morning. Not to mention that, "she who must be obeyed" has given me permission to get another instant pot. Thank you. One other thing. Are you familiar with broasted chicken. I was wondering if you could broast chicken in that thing?

    • @RufusNDufus
      @RufusNDufus  7 років тому

      Broasted chicken, very interesting! I will have to give that a try! Is there any thing else that you want or need in addition to the instant pot? :)

    • @hdlowrider5413
      @hdlowrider5413 7 років тому

      Rufus N Dufus I don't think you need anything else. I understand the process involves frying under pressure. The important thing would be to make sure the cooker could handle that kind of pressure. Brown's chicken in Illinois and another restaurant in Perdido Key, Alabama, which I can't remember the name of, had pretty substantial cookers to do it in. Oh boy it was good.

    • @hdlowrider5413

      I'd like another Harley, but I don't think another happy dance would help me with that.

    I just got one of those, different brand, and I just love it! Mostly because you don't have to stand over it stirring. Well of course also, everything I have tried in it has turned out wonderful. I definitely am going to try your recipe for bbq pork chops and beans. Good to see you enjoying life and doing the happy dance again. You have been through so much. GBY Chico.

    For that length of cooking time you could use dry beans. Use one cup of water for every 3 oz of dry beans. Always presort the beans on a white plate to find any small rocks that may be there.

    How about the hot air fryer, I've got one for Christmas last year and it does a great job on whole chicken ( the skin came out crispy and very good ) the french fries, sweet potatoe frys, zucchini frys all came out crispy, you just add a tsp of corn oil and what ever spices and salt to the frys and set it on 400°. Larry

    We use the Instant Pot Cooker in our Trailer ...it actually has a real Fry Mode so that you can brown up your Roasts etc. before using the Pressure Cooker mode....works great.
    We got the Pro model and it actually makes great homemade Yogurt.
    If you're interested , you tube has a bunch of InstantPot Cooker recipe Videos ...they should work out mostly the same for your brand of Cooker...
    By the way we bought those Microwave Onion Bakers you showed on one of your videos ... we Love them ,thanks for the tip.

    HEY HEY HEY,,,,,,, baby cakes , you are on your way, and I love pressure cooker. Now the best part you can part the other half in a very clean jar plus lid, that you pull out of boiling water, while it is very hot,or make it hot again, fill the jar put the lid on tight. WAL-la you have a meal for the road sealed in a jar. Or for next week, when you come home hungry, and it's meal time. Love your video, and your looking well, your house looks really clean, like you like it. Chico , your puppy looks HAPPY HAPPY too.

  • @youbrokein
    @youbrokein 7 років тому +1

    Chico iv been following you since your old channel. Buddy you need to change your diet, the diabetes is killing you and the same thing happened to my grandma with the leg area from type 2 diabetes. Couple months later she died of pneumonia from being to weak, she was in her late 60s. Even the pork chops and beans you are having is sodium loaded and carb loaded from the canned beans. And if you smoke cigarettes too then even worse. But all the food reviews you did up to now was pretty wreckless considering your age and type 2 diabetes. Its sad to see you in this state compared to few years ago. Im surprised no one has told you what i am saying now. Your a good guy and I enjoy your videos but please take care of yourself, the next time you end up at the hospital you may never leave again.
