Chico, you cracked me up. you are so funny and personable. My husband was using a 5 quart pressure cooker on the stove. He had cooked beans and roast, etc.. in it many times. But one time he put lentils in it and stopped up the do-dad and it exploded all over the ceiling. You're not suppose to put lentils in it (he didn't read the instructions thoroughly until after this incident.) Thank goodness I was at work when this happened and he had it all cleaned up when I got home. The ceiling has beige spots above the stove. This happened about 3-4 years ago and we still haven't painted the ceiling. LOL
Chico, you are a riot. I love the NP story. Can't wait to hear how your next visit goes. My wife and I have an "instant pot" pressure cooker we take rving with us. We love it. Very versatile. Take care, get well fast, and give Rufuss a pat on the head from both of us.

There is nothing better than putting something in the crockpot after you have had breakfast and by the time dinner rolls around its ready and waiting. For the Record, there is no better way to do pintos!

I have had that same pressure cooker for a year now. It is wonderful and you just tweak it to get to know how to use it. It's somewhat like a slow cooker but faster. I know of course it can be used as a slow cooker with the glass lid. Chili is done in 20 minutes, you just throw in all the ingredients and set it for 20 minutes! If you cook a roast it's better to cut it into smaller pieces for it to cook faster and more thorough. I have tried some big roasts and learned that the hard way! There are so many recipes online too. And there's a couple of really good groups on Facebook. Glad you're doing better and good to see you

My Mom's pressure cooker was like your mom's. She used to make porkupine meatballs. Meatballs with rice mixed in. It blew up all over the ceiling... It very seldom came out of the cabinet again!

We had one of those old pressure cookers with the loud steam rocker. That thing scared me but I was also happy when it came out because I knew that meant awesome food was coming our way.

You crack me up, Chico. What you bought looks very similar to an Instant Pot which I just bought last year. You'll enjoy it. By the way, the spoon is for serving rice. Hearing you talk about the pressure cooker your mom had brought back memories of my youth. I'll never forget went the vent blew. Luckily no food escaped, we just had a small indentation in our ceiling.
Oh, and you look hot in your Stetson!! I hope you were wearing it when you went to the nurse practitioner, hee hee.

You will enjoy that pressure cooker. I have one and you can cook just about everything in it, but much faster.

Always love seeing you and hearing your stories! My momma had a pressure cooker and was always scared of it. She used it a lot though. There is a FB group for the Insta-Pot, same as a pressure cooker. You will find lots of recipes there. I hope this smoking hot Nurse Practitioner gets you all fixed up! I have the cooks essentials pressure cooker/slow cooker. I love it but whats better to run in a rv? The big pressure cooker or the insta pkt?

All that probing the doctors did in your groin thank goodness didn't injure your manhood. Now that you're wearing your western hat let's see some beef in that cooker. A strong paper clip is a good tool to have to make sure your valve stays clean. Keep one in your knife drawer, and if food plugs the opening you'll be able to poke it out. I always loose the tool that comes with the cooker, but my paper clip never disappears.
