Jup m2 but i made that decision 3weeks ago i hit 1400 have 590hrs and i looked at my character and i was asking my self what am i doing here lmao. I AltF4 the game and uninstalled it.

I had literally the same reaction without being a Lost Ark pro. Its just common knowledge now that AGS is flip-flopping all over the place, cannot do a patch without some drama, backpedaling, critical issues at the last moment and servers going down few hours after the update is ready.
Nah, this time this "pro" is absolutely full of shit, they actually gave WAY TOO MUCH SHIT even, to the point the whole mats marked crashed, everyone got their lancemasters to 1370 instantly lmao, and have even another free alt to t3 p much with both the express and feiton power pass. So let me get this right. WoW gets slammed for "borrowed power" and systems that become obsolete or just removed entirely in future updates. Well, in THIS game, the borrowed power is your wallet, and just like WoW, that 'borrowed power' you bought becomes obsolete in following updates.

Uninstalled at 259.9 hours. Gearing up just didn't feel any satisfying like it does in many other mmos.
90% of current lost ark streams are honing/faceting. 9% is reacting. 1% is facerolling nerfed on release content with other whales.

bro people doesnt understand hrs has an cap u cant do everything just because u got time on your hands. Lost ark doesnt work like that many "event dailys" i call them run at the same time, u hit a cap i had* 4 alts and i couldnt upgrade at somepoint and it was like 5-6 hrs a day in my Prime.
I hit 250 fails at 1410, now i have problems upgrading 😅

@@Laxpro1369 I stopped playing the second I realized the rng progression system basically grabs you by the balls and says "haha you've spent 100s and 100s of hours grinding and grinding for tiny chances at an in ilvl increase, if you stop now it will all be for nothing!" I prefer actual skill and effort translating to real progression not artificial.

Original argus was not 1370 capped so people know that it was intentionall to spend money xD. I met a amazon employe in game and after a nice conversation the intention from olding content is to create "hype" xD

Every time I watch one of the Lost Ark videos I get less and less interested in it. Game just seems like a huge pain in the ass if you are not shelling out money
Just the standard Korean grinder, it's always the same. It starts kind of fun for a while, but then you reach this point where it's just super repetititve grind over and over and over again, miaxed with RNG, what just makes it disgusting and the P2W on top of it.
That is the point. You get less interested because of youtubers and streamers not because the game is greedy or because AGS/Smilegate is shit. No. It is only because of youtubers and you can see how much the game is fun when you stop watching idiotic videos that tell you the game sucks

They leave because they are conditioned to feel that the game is bad and grindy as fuck. With new events you can get to T3 incredibly quickly while playing even an hour a day. Nope. I am quitting at T1 cause it is too hard. No it isn't. You just have no idea what you are doing and by listening to youtubers and streamers like russian cretin they convince themselves that it is the game's fault. It is almost solely the fault of those videos.
@@Paine981 Dude, I played this game since pre-launch. I participated in ALL the events that took place since pre-release. I have 550+ hours in this game and my main is at 1357 and my alt at 1060. And I am not quitting this game because I watched this Russian guy, I am quitting because I can relate to him based on my experience in the game. And he is fucking right about what he says. Especially when he presents us how we are getting scammed by Scamazon with content released in a half-assed greedy manner.
@@Paine981 I can care less about the youtubers making videos, I can make my own opinion about a game... What I care about is the time I invest in a game, time that Lost Ark does not respect. The game is not hard, it is actually easy as hell. The problem I have is that the game wants me to no life it on multiple alts just to progress at a decent pace. More and more convoluted systems on top of multiple currencies that are limited to X ammount on multiple characters a day. The game is not all that fun, it is just busy work, a daily shopping list. Seeing videos of MORE and MORE busy work required down the road just does not make me want to keep playing.
Why waste hundreds of hours doing something I dislike on multiple characters I do not want to play in hopes I can eventually do the thing I do like on the character I want to play? It is just a giant hamster wheel with a coin slot taped to it.
Honestly I wanted to main glaivier, and its taken so long to come out that I have quit the game and moved onto other stuff.

@@leandroschneider4864 bruh what? vykas and valtan are gonna take a long long time to come. You can get there by that time. Alts dont take forever, specially with the events, power passes, etc. If you park your main to a decent spot, you can get ur alt there fairly easy.

Zeal's Advice: "Take your time, there's no rush."
The Reality: "Bro... you literally have a once in a lifetime opportunity to level as quick as possible and sell all of your mats before the market implodes."
Zeal's Advice: "Dude you don't need to be worried about gold right now, you see as time goes on, and you're levelling alts and getting more characters, running dungeons and getting gold, there's going to be so much gold in the economy that the gold you're saving will actually become worth less over time!"
The Reality: "Dude, the market as it is right now is fucking insane and nobody knows! Sell fucking everything! Mounts! Skins! Mats! If it's not nailed down to your account put it on the market and save your gold because when that market corrects, your gold is going to be worth infinitely more but not only that, every piece of gold you save now is a piece of gold you don't have to make in the future, and trust me... tier 3 honing? You gonna need that gold."
I honestly think watching UA-camrs and streamers in the run-up to the game held me back a substantial amount, and it's kinda mad because thinking about it, they were all giving this advice but none of them were following it. That's why they're all sitting on 500k gold with full stacks of legendary engravings.
Zeals is Right tho. We are just not at that point yet. Most Gold will come from Legion Raids and Argos. Your Gold income and Gear Progression for all your Characters will be cheaper. The Time will come soon when you can have multiple Chara doing Argos or Valtan so the Economy changes a lot

@@california94 That is if you can reach the content that you are hyping there. As things currently stand, most people are not even in T3, and even less are above 1370. People cannot do Argos yet, much less Legion Raids. Gold income was nerfed in KR/RU/JP only after legion raids were introduced and catch-up mechanics were added so that new players will not inflate the economy. I think it was during the release of Kouku-Satan raid when gold was nerfed in KR. We got it nerfed before even Argos was released.

Me and my friends are 1390 and we are playing 3-4 times a week for 1-2 hours and I’m the only one who has an alt Character. The Gold nerf was in December 21 or January 22 this is a fairly new change
And because the gold income overall was nerfed and enough players are in t3 led to insanely low gold prices for mats. Great Honor leapstones are sold for like 5Gold and a destruction/guardian stone stacks are 1g now. You will be able to buy way more Mats for your Raid Gold than before. Be patient and don’t Rush is totally fine
@@california94 I have 550 hours played in this game until now. Is that something a casual does? As for horizontal content, I barely have 350 mokokos, 32 island souls, 7 giant hearts, 1 omnium star, 2 adventure islands, 36 world leafs and 29 masterpieces. Most of these I got while doing dailies. I did not invest a lot of time in hunting them down, I just got them along the way as I progressed. I did the Naruni event daily and the guardian boss event as well on both my main and alt. 1357 is the max I could reach on my main and 1060-1070 on my alt.
Greater honor leapstones sell for like 80 gold the last time I checked. The normal leapstones sell for like 25-30 gold. I am on EU Kadan.

You need at least 4-5 alts to keep up with content release on day 1.
The gold sink post 1370 is absolutely insane. 300g a tap just on your weapon. You get 300-400 blue stones and 200 or so red stones a day and the attempts cost thousands with a huge failure rate.
I saw a vid of a guy that makes 5k gold a day selling everything he gets from 2 chaos 2 guardians across 5 alts.
It’s crazy man.

@@trythis2006 Just because there are worse options available, that does not mean the current state of Lost Ark is acceptable. I don't understand the mindset you people have. Being 2 steps away from the worst grindfest is not the best possible outcome, especially when this game was handled better and more player-friendly in other markets. FFS, Korea got 7 events in support of South Vern release in addition to Battle Pass shenanigans. What did we get? An event to help T1/T2 characters, and even that was handled poorly since they said that only alts with 1000 item level or less can participate, but it turns out that you could select a T3 char or a T2 1000+ item level char as well, thus many people fucked their own event.
Brilliant, but the main problem this game has is the void that is 1340-1370 item level, the gold scarcity that starts taking place after 1370 (your gold income is lower than the amount you need to spend on honing), so on and so forth. NONE of this was handled in this patch. The game is the same, minus the Naruni event which was pretty cool in terms of rewards.

These days, people consider spending $500 (either on founders pack or character expansions) and/or getting all their raids carried by whale friends is F2P these days. F2P is just some medal that people want to claim they are so they can flex in an mmo, a game made by middle aged men and women with ZERO passion outside of getting paid. They program AI that's meant to be killed non-stop over a long period of time to the point where it's braindead. Then, they overtune certain classes to create a meta and add flavor of the month reason for whales to swipe fpr that character, and then balance it a year later when content is facerollable.
@@welkingunther4298 don't forget their idea of balance for classes is balancing them for endgame performance based on the class having 5 or 6 level 3 engravings and being gearscore 1590, while the class feels like dogshit unless you heavily optimize it with the meta stats and engravings to use.
@@stefan1360 Yup, I always love to argue with dumbasses who make fun of noobs who struggle with T1 and T2 guardian either solo or group version, but 99% of the reason is because the noob's character has like 1-2 engravings at most, so the class feels and plays like total shit. And it's not their fault because you waste money and time gearing a character that instantly gets reset 100% when moving to next tier.

20:08 2 things that frustrate me most about this game and will be the main reasons why I jump to another MMO when it releases (Hopeful for Ashes of creation)
#1 The feeling of being forced to play 6 alts repeating the same content for an hour on each alt everyday for maximum gains.
#2 There is way too much time gated content where you either have to be on all day everyday or you have to be excessive and set alarms on something like your cellphone to catch each and every event.
(These Issues cause so much micro management of your time that it stops feeling like a game and starts feeling like a job ....a job that YOU have to PAY 2 WIN at if you want to make the best profits when new content releases.)
Gonna be frank here, don't do that. You gotta stop looking to spend hours in MMOs, you're only setting yourself up for that feeling of emptiness and inevitable disappointment.
In WoW, you install ATT, and lose your soul grinding meaningless shit every day for that +0.05%. In FFXIV, you abruptly run out of content and get into a cycle of logging in, wanting to do something, then logging out in 5 minutes. In Lost Ark, you grind every day towards a goal you know can be reached, and is designed to be reached by players swiping their credit card.
My suggestion for Lost Ark would be to not try to minmax by attending every event, and don't play alts if you don't have fun with it, which is the main point. The game's DESIGNED for you to not catch up, so don't try, just take it in a casual stride and you may even benefit from honing buffs and catch up mechanics.
Play a variety of indie shit, dedicating hours of a day to an MMO is a relic of the past and doing that today's gonna keep burning you. They've figured out how to keep you addicted, to drip feed rewards to make you feel like you accomplished something. Play it for the fun of it, sure, but don't do it like Asmon does, to achieve a goal or something.
#2 - I missed certain time events and I'm fine with that?.. you gotta chill when playing this game, can't be "Oh fk i missed it, im way behind others, i feel bad now" that kinda thing, I feel that this is caused by #1, when you already have frustrations lel

I should be able to login whenever I like make a group and do the content that I want to do. (depending on a work schedule there are some people who will never get to do certain content)

No joke I have 3 Beserkers in T3 and some alts but I only really like the Beserker so only play that one, triple the content and easy build because you already know what you need and can use the same engravings.
Lost Ark became a bigger chore than WoW. Then and there is when I dropped the game. It's trash like those systems that makes it unfun to play.

Asmond you need a reality check I have 7 characters main 1404 and these rest alts at 1340 and Iam no where near 1415 . Now I have a full time job and I can 100% tell you the average lost ark player won’t be 1445 or even 1415 by next month they need to start pumping mats and none of that t1 t2 crap that only helps bots give us t3 leap stones books for 1370+ gear etc .
100% f2p as well . If you got a job and work full time you should not be anywhere near 1415 unless you payed money . People that are 1400+ can afford to play 8-10 hours a day and that’s facts. Also you got gifted mats and then say if I was f2p I would be 1415 etc no you won’t cause you don’t play alts your ass would be sitting at 1370 .
Let’s not forget all the time you wasted getting mokokos and crap that would affect your progression on your main because you would have had to do infinite chaos dungeons 24 hours if you are only playing one toon and that is facts.

@@fjdkfjdk This polish dude isn't saying it's impossible. He's case and point. He reached 1400 weeks ago and probably almost 1445 by now if he kept the same schedule up as F2P. It's just that it's unreasonable and our version of lost ark is horrible in terms of pacing and events.
I have 1 alt 1340 second alt 1355 and main 1385. Yeah u could reach 1415 as f2p if you played with like 5 or more t3 alts but thats just insane. Just doing all daily content with 3 char takes me 3 hours EVERY DAY. Then its not just the dailies. I have to do all weekly content like raids and such which gives gold on 3 char. Just playing 3 char is almost like a job. To reach 1415 now as f2p player requires you to be degenerate. I can't imagine anyone enjoying playing 6 alts and play 5-6hours same daily stuff every single day, its just not possible for normal human. Yeah I can play a game more than 6 hours straight but I DON'T WANT TO PLAY SAME DAILY QUEST EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR 6 hours. I'm already starting to burn out just from playing with 3 characters. I would like to do adventure tome and hunt the last skill point potion from quest in rohen but always when i finish my dailies on my all characters i'm already burned out and want to quit for the day. So yeah its not possible for normal human to get 1415 now

6 chaos dungeon daily is 70min, 5 Lopang +main unab is 30+10mins. Adventure island, worldboss/chaos gates is 30 mins. There’s no need to do guardian everyday, especially not with matchmaking. If you do choose to do them daily, it’s recommended to pair up with someone 1400+ and use battle items , 1340 guardian is 2:38 mins on average per run for me.
There’s a catch up system for a reason, let your alt get rested and play your main or just take a break you’re not missing out
@@trythis2006 Good for you. And yeah i'm using bifrost on all una quest but because i'm not as good as you it takes me 30-40min to do 3 characters depending how many pain in the ass una quest I have. Some are fast but some take more time than 3 fast ones combined. Just waiting on tooki island takes 10min :) And then there is the peyto quest where u have to run around the whole ship doing lot of task in every part of the ship

I'm one of those "semi casual" player that Asmon talks about at 14 minutes. I play since day one, 370 hours played, i play one character only, no reroll, Artillerist, i'm full free to play, never bought crystals or anything. The only money i spent was on the gold founder pack. And i can understand why some people are frustrated and shit but i hear a lot of shit that i really don't get.
Now. I'm hitting 1400 ilvl today just in time for the patch release, i'm not a lucky player on honing but i'm not that unlucky tho', average at best. I'm not a tryhard about honing, i'll have my honing session one day in the week, the rest of the time i'm selling 50% of my mats and keeping the rest for thoses sessions.
I spend a good 2 hours a day in the evening after works and irl chores on my character running daily "end game" content and my weeklies when i can (Abyssals, P1 Argos, Una's 3 weekly quest) + I love the PvP in this game even if i'm trash and my class not that op so i try to do 3 to 5 ranked match a day after i'm done with everything (currently between gold and plat).
I have 1200+ Mokoko's, 4 zones at 100% discovery, a good half of every collectibles thing.
And quite honestly i have zero problem playing the game, even the meme in the community about money (gold and silver lacking meme) i don't have any problem about. As said i'm 1400 today, 10k gold in bank (yes that's bad but i don't grind it) 5M silver in stock, i'm 4 engraving lvl 3, Crit/Swift nicely done, all my gems are level 5 minimum. I think i can say i have an "above average" 1400 ilvl F2P Artillerist and i got here without spending shit.
So am i an exception? Cause really i get the Pay 2 Fast critic about the game, but the P2W is hard to understand for me... Pay to "WIN" what exactly?

You have 370 hours played over a couple of months, you definitely are not a normal person.
So for your question. You believe zeal that said the game is a marathon right? Meaning if u f2p you run normally to the finish line(which is best gear) but if u pay you get to the finish line faster WINNING over other f2p racers. Basically in our understanding p2w is when u can pay legitimately to gain advantages over other player that are not paying.

Literally triple of everything; Daily login awards, event mats and rewards from everywhere. 2. Less rng. They got rid of many of rng features for na launch. 3. I love how this dude is absolutely right. The west has by far the most greedy version of the game. Amazon literally withheld both Valtan, tier 6 graid and s vern chaos dungeons cause people weren't high enough ilvl and so what do they do? They go and take away the grand prix (which gave weekly tier 3 mats) and pirate coins (which also gave tier 3 mats too) and instead add in 1 time rewards with the pass and a shitty ass express pass for dipshit tier 1s and 2s lol. They could've kept in the grand prix event and added more stuff in the game that Kr/R has so we can reach 1415. Nope they took it all away and just never added in the extra shit. Why? Cause they want people to continue spending money so they can make more. They want people to full reach tier 3 so they can also possibly gouge them out of money too so they can spend to reach 1415 to get to Valtan. I used to spend money in the game but then stopped when they said they were delaying Valtan i knew right then and there about what they were about. Fuck this game, fuck Amazon and fuck Smilegate
KR had 7 events to help people catch up with Valtan and South Vern content. We received squat. Those 7 events were SEPARATE from the Ark Pass by the way.

I don't agree with the pass being greedy, the bulk of the rewards is in f2p tier, also the character express is really good for characters under tier 3. Not to mention the boost
The character express is good for T1/T2 characters, but it was still poorly managed. They allowed people to select even T3 chars in the selection menu, when the rewards were intended for T1/T2 characters. If you gonna do this event, then make sure you forbid players from selecting their mains.
@@Thanatos2k The way they advertised the event though is that you only character at level 50+ and with item level 1000- are eligible to participate. Logically, you should not be allowed to select a T3 or a T2 character above 1000 item level. I selected my T2 char that was 1050 or something too, albeit I don't have a second alt.

It's like the engravings that drop at the end of T3 abyss dungeons, everyone gets a chance to bid on the 5 more mats. If you bid and don't get it you get a share of the gold it went for.

I think you're exaggerating somewhat here. I'm f2p with may main 1390 and an alt at 1340 and from what I've heard i've not been that lucky with honing. I do however have near 600 hours played, so there's that. I don't doubt I could be 1400 with a little more luck already. I think at 1415 and upwards I would start doubting the possibility of getting there f2p, but at that point there no point in progressing anyway, except digital dick size

I'm about 1400 in f2P as well but I finally got sick of the game. It's not fun in PUGs and not enough content encourages playing with friends.
The whole honing thing being based on RNG is the most dull and boring shit ever, I take 0 pleasure in being lucky x times in a row, I'd much rather have guaranteed goals.
I lasted for a while but I'm about done with the game, I had fun while it lasted but I can't see it being fun if it's like that long term.

I feel like a lot of the evidence and commentary from this guy always just tries to paint AGS as some malicious actor rather than putting and blame on SGS or pointing to some of the real issues with communication, shipping product and general incompetence coming from AGS. I get it though, that's probably the content and we can get those takes elsewhere if needed. AGS's issues seem to stem more from execution and coordination with SGS rather than some malicious intent. He seems to be quite knowledgeable of the game and other reasons so would actually love to hear him have a more nuanced discussion with others that don't share the same view sometime. To speak on one part of the video a F2P player can get to 1400 these days, but like you said it takes time and work put in to play. I hit 1370 a few days ago, just did Argos P1 and Hard mode Abyssal to start working on my next set of gear. It took me to stop caring about and taking progression seriously, I stopped honing for a good week or two and just farmed up material, built up a little gold and doing other content and I eventually got there. The sad thing is dailies are really starting feel repetitive, mostly because they take up such a chunk of time. One word of advice to folks, you don't have to do chaos dungeons and guardian raids every day, do it every other day to free up time and do some other content in game to break the monotony. South Vern was a disappointment, only 2 areas unlocked, and none of them have anything interesting. Now after this video I see what exactly was taken out in our version and why it looks so bare right now. The battle pass is a mess with having 2 paid tiers and not the correct amount of items given to make them worth it. It makes me feel like they don't respect players time and money in this game.

And I cannot make more alts since I don't have the time to manage them outside weekends. My main and my alt is the most I can manage on a daily basis.

He is funny but man, if I'm being honest...after 850h played as a f2p (gold founders pack really), I have my main at 1400 with 3331 engravings, full Argos set, level 5-7 gems, and 3 alters at 1340 with decent gear. I even got lucky on Abyss runs and card packs and I have the cliff set awakening 1, and I'm pretty advanced in collectibles too, 1200 mokokos, 50 island tokens, 13 giant hearts and 2 ignea tokens atm.. and I just reached 3rd limit this reset, so I've been doing everything the game has to offer almost equally, all that in less than 3 months of playing. If you think that a year 1 korean player could have even dreamed about having this much progress in this short amount of time you are completely out of your mind. Our version is different, our progress is different, and our publisher is different, you either take it or leave it but compared to KR we are getting content and progress way way faster. Remember they waited a whole f*cking year and a month to have valtan released (counting since official release not beta), would you rather have what they had instead?
The problem is you played 850 hours to get to this point. Most people dont have the time or energy to grind that much. I think it is still the best and most f2p friendly MMO on the market but the daily grind is kinda insane.

Too many games are similiar to the format of Lost Ark now. They can simply make more money with the F2P (Aka PtW or Cash Grab) take your pick. Its the future of gaming , not much we can do about it. Only a few games like WoW and Final Fantasy XIV can make the Subcription model still work.
