I enjoyed your sea stories. I graduated Class 99 (Oct '78). I was a 32 yo Ensign so I was an old guy to my classmates. I laughed my ass off at your completely accurate description of the San Clemente cactus. During the FTX (Final Training eXercise), my squad was moving down a gully near Wilson's Cove. I stumbled and fell full stretch into one of those cactus patches. My guys pulled me out and we finished the op and the 7-mile patrol back to camp. My squadmates then had a fun time pulling over 500 cactus spines out of me. I had completely forgotten about that until your 3rd phase story. Hooyah 99. But the way, I served with Al Huey in UDT 11. He was a Senior Chief at was about to retire with 38 years of service. A real legend.
WOW ... I could listen to your stories for days and days !!! Sadly I'm hitting 73 and I wish that I could have become one of your personal friends but that's not in the cards !!! I truly hope that the people lucky enough to be close to you can understand and appreciate how unique and special you are !!! God Bless you for all that you have done and for what you continue to do for this Country and it's Constitution !!! Bobby Noll
really interesting stories. i was a policeman for 30 years, but no military service. you guys deserve your reputations. that training is no joke and it takes some incredible tenacity and ability to weather hardship to complete. much respect...
So proud that my country has such brave, strong men. I mean mentally tough also. My nephew tried for Navy Seals but there was something wrong with his hips and he couldn’t do it. He was in every sport there is since he was about 6 years old, but came from a rich family and never had to face any hardship. From your videos I can see why he would struggle. I am 56 year old female but you are inspiring me to find ways to work mental and physical toughness training into my life. Thanks to all our military out there, vets and still serving.
Thank you for sharing that. Idk what @donramanayake1505 deal is. Being dramatic about someone else’s comments about their thoughts and experiences is really pathetic.
You SEALS are the absolute best America has to offer and your sacrifice, heart, commitment, and determination is second to none. As a US Navy veteran (not a SEAL) I feel honored to have breathed the same air as some of you guys. Hooyah!!!
I like how the certificates are done by the simplest printing method, the simplest graphics, no fancy 5th colors, watermarks,.....yet everybody knows, how freaking precious this paper is for every owner.
I enjoyed these videos on BUDS so much. I was a Marine and went through PI in 87. I’ve wished over the years that I’d gone the Navy route and tried the SEAL thing at some point. It’s something I’d love to know if I had what it took. Oh well, maybe another life. I do hate the frigging cold and for me, that sounds like the worst. I respect all you guys for being able to push yourselves through all that stuff. I could listen to your stories all day. Thanks for sharing it with us as well as your service in the world’s toughest military training.
I’m actually laughing out loud, knowing as you’re telling the running story what the consequences would be! Too funny! You’re a hero for doing this Channel. You’re helping many.
Thanks for the great content, Chadd. I enjoy hearing another country boy telling his story about his journey in the military. I appreciate you being a humble, Christian warrior. Appreciate ya, brother!💯🇺🇸
Wow i went thru a cake walk in 1968 basic army training compared to the hell you went thru! You are a Superman! You are a rare breed! Thank you for all the great story time!😁
I never was that great of a runner, but that all changed as I progressed through the Navy by running the mountains on my off time. Came in first on one of the Parts and was appointed by the Chief to become a Command Fitness Instructor. Wanted to go Seals but didn't think there was anyway I could ever hold my breath for six minutes
I never thought one day I would see a Navy SEAL with a ZZ top guitarist beard style (I know, Chadd is a former Navy SEAL but to me, once a SEAL always a SEAL). I'm kidding. I really appreciated to listen to you talking about what going through phase 3 of BUD/s does really mean and how challenging it can be. Keep up the good work 👍🏻.
I love hearing about every aspect of what you Navy SEALS go through in order to become SEAL! Very intense and educational! I'm sure you inspire quite a few young men to want to go into the teams and hopefully they will be better prepared than they would be if they hadn't heard what they're in for! for!!!
Remember that time Shields lost his 2 front teeth after the paddle slammed into his mouth when his boat team got pummeled by the breaking wave? Good times that sucked, lol!... A mutual class brother (AR) said you started this channel. I get a kick out of your stories. Keep up the good work! #HOOYAH278
Inflatable Boat, Small training. I was coxswain. I had my hands on the motor, my M-16, a PRC-25 on the deck. We went broadside coming through the surf and capsized. I held onto the motor and my rifle. Lost the radio. I spent 8 hours in the surf looking for the radio. This was on Coronado. I enjoyed the Rock but I wasn’t in BUD/S. Regular Navy Remote Sensor Team. I learned a distaste for cactus.
Thank you for your service and thank you for sharing. Only regret I will have is not serving my country. The way things are going I still might be able to do something for my country. God bless you!
The more and more I hear about BUD/S, th more and more ny hat goes off to all the badasses who conquered it God Bless all of our Warriors! Shoutout to ya Chad!! Much love and respect from Oklahoma
Respect to you sir, I spent 15 years in the RAF supporting special forces all over the world with secure comms and have some idea of how hard you guys work. Hope you enjoyed your time in.

Very interesting. I am amazed how much endurance some people have and what they can endure. I would for sure have dropped out already in the first phase. So I really admire the stamina of those people who make it to the end.
Great listening to you man. Respect to your honesty and attitude. I was best man at a seals wedding years back. He never told me any stories. Just the way he was.
The former Rhodesian Special Forces unit called the Selous Scouts also did a tough selection course. It is a tough training and mental mind game no doubt.Well done to you Chadd enjoyed your 3 phases.
i enjoy listening to your stories!! my dad was in the navy during WW2...i remember alot of his stories, thank you for your service & for sharing these great tales from your past!!!
This series has been great. I was discharged during land nav. I had the huge Alice pack on and I slipped on a rock, removed 2 lower lumbar units from my spine. Paralizised me for 6 months
This was the best series to listen to about buds that I’ve seen. If I was prepping for buds I’d be so glad for these videos. The older doc is cool but this to me is better even without visuals, your explaining about everything I can actually just imagine it. Greats videos and thank you for your service.🇺🇸🤘👍
Love your stories I’m going into Border Patrol soon and my goal is to become part of Bortac, I’m currently part of swat team but from what I hear Bortac selections and training is pretty tough , your stories help me prep my mind for the future feat to overcome
Again, big, big, thank you for your dedicated service protecting our lives, rights, freedoms and values as an American Navy Seal....Bravo. So much appreciation! Cool vid's, Man!

They didn't hold a shoe string compared to the brutality y'all suffered! I salute you and thank you for your Service!
Awesome videos. Gave me flashbacks of very long, very arduous land nav courses. The worse I remember was a night course after a wicked storm. Lots and lots of deadfall, which makes it so much more fun. Respect for your service.

You’re a good, stand up man, Chadd. It would be a pleasure to meet you some day. I enjoy your videos. I’m claustrophobic and couldn’t do what have done. You have a right to be proud, and I think it’s the coolest that you’ve kept a journal of your experiences. Your blue ‘80s Land Cruiser is tops as well. Take care and God bless.
I was never Navy but I served in the US Army. I always tell people that do not know, BUD/S is just the basics and begining, You still have airborne school and SQT, then you have to get to the unit and then the real training begins. Its like basic training for the US Army, Your not a real soldier just because you complete basic training, You still have Advance individual training, possibly airborne school. then you get to the unit to start doing your real job. Training never stops. Great Video.
Went through "fire school" to become a certified firefighter...sounds like we got 1/10th of the time/training, and 1/1000th of the abuse you guys got. Much respect, I know I couldn't have made it through 1st phase of BUD/S. I did, however, not fall for the "Let's go get some barbecue at Melear's!", but we had former trainees tell us the puke stories. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!! Wish I was man enough to make it through what all of you went through.
Thank you for sharing the BUDS portion of your training with us sir. Personally, I found it fascinating, and would enjoy hearing about some of your advanced training as well? At least what you can elaborate on.
These Videos have been really interesting. Most people , myself included could not even imagine the kind of adversity you and your teammates fought through. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

For the rest of your life, I wish you peace, prosperity, and love in your life. You've earned it. Keep living for us. We need you. Men like you provide hope. I pray that The Almighty blesses you... Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Capt. Morgan was in the Hell Box 2/2010. I am not a seal or even in the navy but did visit the Island for a bit. You took me down memory lane. One of my guys did take Capt Morgans arm off by accident, don't worry it went right back on. The instructors gave us Arrogant Bastard Ale, not sure if that is what you had, i thought it was good. To any Seals that were there Feb 2010, i might have hit some of those golf balls.
Thank you for your sacrifice and thank you for telling us your story. As I watched and listened to what you went through some of the few stories that my father had told me about becoming a marine raider during WWII came back to mind, some terrifyingly life changing for him and some quite humorous such as your run up the hill. My father was 17 when he went into the marines, I was wondering how young you were? Anyway no need to answer, enough said other than thank you for helping bring some memories back to me about my dad as they are fading. For him I say to you Semper Fidelis !
You have to be so tough to make it through the training, by itself. It sounds miserable. I didn’t know you are not a seal yet after you finish Buds. Really enjoy your experiences.
I had a Navy buddy from Wisconsin. He had never been in the Ocean when he first came to the ship. We took him to the North Shore of Oahu in December, when the surf is huge. After being turned away from 3 beaches by lifeguards, we found a beach for him to swim in. Being excited, he jumped out of the Jeep before we could stop him and ran right into the water.... he got caught in the "washing machine" of the surf and spent about 20 minutes, trapped, getting beaten sensless by the crashing waves. It was so bad that he ended up getting an audience of like 10 locals laughing their asses off at the stupid Haole.

Love this dude. Goes into a lot of detail. Love this channel
Congratulations and thank you for your service. Much respect.
That was a Cool Fuckin Sea Story Brother! Love this Shit!!! I was a runner too, but never a Sandbaggin SOB!!!
You have a talent about sharing experience!!!! So enjoyable!!
Bro u have , without any shadow a doubt, made a difference in my life…..a positive difference, s thanks my brother.
really enjoy your stories. They give good insight into the whole process of going through BUDS.
You have to be so tough to make it through the training, by itself. It sounds miserable. I didn’t know you are not a seal yet after you finish Buds. Really enjoy your experiences.
Integrity! Yes, do the right thing when no one else in looking.
Hey Chad. Brutal, man.
