I don’t see a conflict with someone being a Christian and a SEAL. As to the extreme violence, the real question is to what purpose? Is it satisfying your own selfish needs (like a gangster) or is it a life spent protecting something honorably? The ugly truth is that violence is a reality of this world and can only be stopped with greater violence.

A lil late to the party though your comment regarding mixing extreme violence with having God front and center in one's life brings to mind one of your fellow Bros, may he RIP, Adam Brown. For those not familiar, he's well worth looking up and the book, "Fearless," an incredible read, tells of Adam's life, from his days as a jailed junkie, to accepting Christ, to entering the Navy, becoming a SEAL and finally his becoming a DEVGRU Operator. The fact that Adam did this with one eye, and basically the dexterity in his left hand nonexistent, through two different training accidents, tells ya all that you need to know about his drive and faith, both in himself though even more so in God.
Through his own past words, those of his wife and basically anyone that had the great fortune to encounter Adam in their daily lives, from childhood friends, to Teammates and commanders, they all spoke of his faith in God and how he even displayed it in extremely violent situations, such as his last mission, when his love for his Brothers led him to make the ultimate sacrifice. Adam wore his Commitment to God as a badge of great honor just as he did that US flag patch🇺🇸 on his uniform.
There have been many Great Killers who could rain hell on earth on their enemies, though they were also Great Christians!!
      Continued Success👊

@@rpjii9771 it angers me, there is an Antifa
group that call themselves the “John Brown Gun Club”. John Brown was a devout Christian during the civil war. Most people when they consider the civil war, always think of the Deep South: Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, etc.
The real flashpoint of the civil war was on the Missouri-Kansas border. On the Confederate side, you had Quantrill’s raiders. They were ultra-violent, confederate civil war terrorists. In response, a devout Christian and stalwart opponent of slavery, John Brown was part of the Kansas Jayhawkers. They rose up to meet Quantrill’s Raiders, kill for kill.
They had to be ultraviolent. They had to scare these Quantrill raiders to become a deterrent. Nobody who carries a gun honorably wants that. I train weekly and hope I never have to use that training, but if the occasion arises I’ve done my utmost to prepare myself (which I’m sure is far from enough, but it’s the best I can do)
God bless your friend and his sacrifices.

Man, I thought about this a lot during my time in the Army. Is violence a "bad" thing? Yes, but when other people on this earth decide to commit violence against others, and have demonstrated that they are willing to kill others in the service of evil, I am willing to stop those people with whatever means necessary. I have to believe that God wants us to stand up for his word and to defend our fellow beings if so able. The world is a wicked place, doesn't mean we have to sit and let it destroy us.

Jordan Peterson has the best explanation I've ever heard on this subject. The word " Meek " is a translated word from Hebrew which doesn't have an exact match in English. A better way to think of meek is A man who knows how and is capable of great violence but chooses to keep his sword sheathed unless absolutely necessary. A dangerous man is a good man - Jordan Peterson

Good Morning and greetings from Andersonville Ga.!! You nailed this Chadd. God wants us to be humble, kind, meek and slow to anger. I have found that many times, love is one of the most powerful weapons we posess. However, if we are using extreme violence for good and not plain evil, it is acceptable, and God can use our actions for His glory somehow. My motto is the old road house rule. Be nice until it's time not to be nice. Thank You for your service good Sir!! May your day be blessed. P.S. may I inquire as to what footwear you are wearing in this video? Thank You!!

@@floydieharris6236 Do you mean like how you're conveying someone else's thoughts back to them the way YOU want them to be? You're telling Jeremy that his thought, according to YOUR thinking, shouldn't have been said.
So...Floydie woidy bully baby....Jeremy is free to submit his ideas from a heart of trying to find a more accurate way of saying what Conquer Lab said, just as the Bible says "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another". It takes one man refining another man's thinking to make that man even better...so Conquer Lab should be respected and applauded for trying to find understanding of what Chad is teaching....and Jeremy should be respected and applauded for trying to sharpen Conquer Lab by showing him what COULD be a better use of words to say an idea more accurately.
Personally...I would say it as "A warrior with a sword, who lives to love, edify, and protect, to share God's Grace, and slice and dice the not so nice only as necessary". :)
Meekness, to me, is simply the demeanor that is full of confidence but is absent of pride, warring against pride by the eradication of arrogance, leaving a heart refined into a focus on giving God the Glory of all things Good, while in a sensory mode of vigilant alertness to pride's return as it always wants to re-convince a man that he should re-king himself just as Satan, from pride, wanted to take God's throne despite Satan being the created being.and God His actual Creator. The created is never greater than the Creator...the pot is never greater than the potter himself....and so meekness is that peaceful calm of a heart that's not invited pride to elevate oneself to others for their accolades, their "worship", but is rightfully hearing and submitting to God being Jesus being Savior being Friend being King being Lord of All....and finding joy in gratefulness that all that is rightfully of Him should be a catalyst for our praise and wanting God to get His Due Recognition, for only He is Good, and only He Redeemed us sinners while we were yet sinful rebels at war against His Ways, until He Called us to Jesus who is Himself but in human form, and by a decision to believe, we were converted in a blink to be new creations of a new nature now turned away from loving sin to now adore Righteousness, and want to serve our Great King through obedience and sacrifice, protecting all that is Good, defeating all that is evil, including the evil within each of us, doing so only in His Ways, to His Glory.

Man...just found your channel yesterday. Resonating is an understatement. I was saved in my last year of service in the Marine Corps when I met my wife and she introduced me to Christ. I was an infantry machine gunner, and I was such an aggressive and violent person inside and out that I struggled deeply with this internal battle upon being saved. I could never fully "shake" that "other side" of me that I spent YEARS cultivating...and this message from you is so perfectly worded. One of my biggest struggles as a servant of Christ in this area was people taking my kindness for weakness when I was only trying to obey Christ - especially in the civilian world. What I learned was that my pride was to blame. That "other side" is a gift from God to protect or react in a time of need, not to defend my own pride when a person misinterprets my demeanor. I still struggle with this to a smaller degree, but thank you for this insanely accurate message. Felt like I had a monster under my bed at times. Blessed to have you as a brother in Christ. Keep fighting the Good Fight...

Semper fi brother. I fully understand what you're feeling. I constantly struggle with exactly that. Try to walk the Christian walk, and people take my kindness for weakness. The civilian world has so much disrespect.
As for our skill set and our aggressive style, I reserve it as a tool for God's use.

NAVY vet. Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club. Saved after service. Meekness is one in those “covers a lot of good ground” terms. The boil down for me these past 40 some years in Christ has been: “Strength in humility”. That is an A to Z deep and wide allowing for episodes of both deep sensitive, tender reflection on one hand to Surprise. Speed and Violence of Action to defend. Always a posture of defense within a covering of being ready and able to go on offense. Thanks.

Heck years ago they started Seals for Christ Ministry, not sure where, but it might b Texas. Good group of believers.
Hey I asked the Lord to show me something Biblical other than the grand, guess what joined the Navy, went to Egypt way back in 1983ade me a believer while
assigned to Specwar group one, we were HAL-5 with the only task to support special warfare on the west coastfrom 1978 -1988, it was a blast, phase 3 San Clemente we would surprise the seal officers on teaching them insert and extraction, we would take them about a mile out to sea and dunk their ass's in the drink then swing'em back to the island, windchill factor was another subject.

I know this is a year later. But as context, I saw JP discussing meekness, and the meaning of said definition at the time attributed to the writing. He noted that it meant those who were trained and armed, but kept their swords sheathed.

David was a man after God’s heart 1 Samual 13:14. He was a warrior. Luke 22:36-38 Jesus told his disciples to sell their cloak and buy a sword. Im sure it was to protect the disciples and the church. God doesn’t hate a warrior. The bible is full of strong men protecting their own and walking with the Lord.

I’d like to recommend this great book I read, and it’s one of my favorites: “Who Ate Lunch With Abraham?” by Asher Intrater,
Jesus is the Angel of the Lord in OT.
The Angel of the Lord did lots of righteous violence throughout the Old Testament.
    He is
    Yehovah Army Commander.

That verse never says the whip ever touched a human...he didn't whoop their butt...he was incredibly Merciful in that display of disgust at the irreverent perversion of turning a house of worship into just another place to try and make a profit...even at the expense of using God Himself to be an element of someone's life to manipulate and make money from. But Jesus Himself never put down a full season of butt whoop on anyone....tables were flipped and righteous anger was on display...but Jesus Himself wasn't "operating" on anyone......but He CERTAINLY Will when He Returns....and the opportunity for Grace is over...then it will be complete and Total display of Justice...not Mercy...for those that refused His Mercy and from arrogance and a love for evil preferred to give their lives to evil pursuits in complete apathy toward a Loving and Morally Perfect Righteous God.

You are inaccurate when you translate the word “meek” from an English dictionary. You have to look at the original Greek “praus “ which is what the Bible was written in for that section. This translates into ”gentle”. You cannot be a Navy seal and be “gentle”. A .308 round traveling at 2800 f/s is definitely NOT “gentle “

Hey Chadd, just introduced to your content. Great material, thanks for sharing. Could you expand on the process of being a warrior/ follow further. Emphasis on the transition in the mind and heart from sending a slug down range to sharing the tenderness of Christ to a bystander the slug was meant to protect. What are the challenges with "flipping the switch" from extreme violence to extreme empathy and compassion in a real world scenario, how long should it take for that transition to take shape and how can we abbreviate that transition (either direction) to be more effective in times of crisis?

    Thanks for this vid.
I can only say, I pity the lost souls. Especially on Judgement Day.
I made up my mind, finally, about 30 yrs ago, that I was not going to gamble on my Eternity With Him.
I still witness. Some accept Him while others walk on. But what really gets me, is the one who knows what they need, and many want to do, but end up saying they can't pull away from their world lifestyle.
Tks again. Will be ready for your next vid and podcast.

Invading someone else's country and killing the men, women, and children don't seem very Christian, even if your government tells you to do so and it seems problematic. Can someone enlighten me about this? I'm not trying to be argumentative. It breaks my heart to hear about the suicide rate of our soldiers but I think killing people is bad for you personally, psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually.

As a disciple of Christ I struggled with this same topic. But what I know is times were very different in the Old Testament, the heart was wicked and violence was normal. That's why God flooded the earth to cleanse it. It was some very dark times but God in His love, sent his Son to die for our sins and to provide a path back to Him. I've learned that when Jesus died and veil was torn in two everything changed. The Bible talks about the old covenant is obsolete and the new covenant is our pattern to follow. Jesus changed everything. He also says to turn the other cheek and to pray for our enemies. I'm not hear to win a debate because I struggle with this too, but I know we cannot use old testament as our example. The old testament is there because it teaches us about the wrath of God and new testament teaches us about Jesus, and God gave Jesus the keys to heaven and hell. This is a deep teaching and cannot be resolved over a podcast, although I love your podcasts my brother. I'd encourage any followers of Christ, to keep reading and study the Bible and pray about it. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you. Jesus is our example. Be blessed 👑

There will always be a place for extreme violence regardless of your relationship with God or your religion because there will always be evil men in this world who will never cease to commit evil against good people, the only thing the evil fear is death and violence and this is how you deal with them,no remorse no apologies no regrets.👍
