I just wish as you’re talking about these rooms, that you show those rooms longer while you’re talking about them. It’s hard to get a good look when you only show it for a few seconds at a time. 😊 And more close up on your tablet while you’re drawing on it. But LOVE your content. Thank you so much ! So very helpful 😊
Absolutely. Well, you know, she's teaching, but she doesn't want to give all the techniques up, so she waffles, but she doesn't give... not the first time.
Definitely second this! I had to pause and zoom so many times to get the sense of what she was saying… Rebecca, you could do something like a screen recording of your iPad and then have that dropped in as an overlay in the video at the right times… I’m not explaining that particularly well but hopefully you’ll know what I mean and will either have seen other content creators doing something similar to get an idea!
I learned that if it’s a conversation/living room, arrange the furniture like they talk to each others too! In addition, Feng Shui teaching is never block the entry of your front door. The door should open wide without restrictions so you don’t block the flow of the good vibes. And never to put mirror facing the front door. This deflects the good vibes from coming in. Lastly, less is more.
I would add a comment not about design but about your content creation. It would have been better to put the pictures of the room on full screen as you were talking about them. They were featured so quickly and then shown too small to see as you were holding the iPad.
As much as I adore your design projects Rebecca, I have to say that these videos with people’s homes are my absolute favorite. It helps me understand your design rules, and puts them into practical use right away. Just love it!
You crack me up as probably the only person who routinely rearranges the furniture in a hotel room ...because it bugs you when not correct! You are 100% right and an amazing teacher. I wish I had a fraction of your energy!
@@MarilynDean-i5b that’s great news. Thank you for letting me know my efforts are helping you. That’s exactly why I do what I do. Made my day my friend 😉 RR
I really like that you work with and enhance what people already have, and aren't just about promoting the latest trend. So refreshing to see in any media.
I love this but it’s hard to follow along on your small screen and using your finger… maybe zoom into the image and use the pen to point and draw to make it easier to see? Overall love this series, hearing the ideas is a huge help 😊
Thank you to all of the people who shared photos of their homes! It really helps us understand the design concepts with real life examples. [I have a hunch that the hotel room furniture was placed that way to help the cleaning staff clean around the room. I like how your simple changes made such a difference.]
My husband and I just watched this episode. We thought ,Let's just see....moved the couch 7 inches to center it infront of the window....You are right! Not even kidding. The entire room feels better!! Thank you for your excellent pointers!!
I wasn’t planning to…but after this episode I rearranged my lounge room furniture 😀 A difficult room to furnish, which I’ve struggled with for years (long / skinny / no symmetry at all / too many doors). Main problem (apart from the symmetry issue) is that it is hard to achieve a conversation area. I had furniture against the wall, everything facing the TV or cabinets on one side. I’m finally happy with my arrangement, and we can still watch TV and face one another to chat. Thank you ❤
You are the best Rebecca. And God bless my husband for never saying anything about me constantly rearranging and changing things in our home 🤣🤣 because now I have even MORE ideas
These are the MOST helpful videos! Most of us don't have a limitless budget to buy gorgeous new pieces, so we're working with what we have. So much of design seems to be placement, so seeing "real" people's homes is incredibly beneficial.
Oh, Rebecca, I just love this series! You are such a brilliant designer and to have you go over these tips is like inviting you into all of our homes. So much priceless information. I look forward to the updated video every week.
I love to tweak furniture arrangements. Actually ‘adjusted’ the furnishings in a hotel suite once. Nothing major, but a sofa table was crowding the space, so it got moved to a wall, and the sofa moved back 18 inches for breathing space between the coffee table and tv armoire. Much better. YOUR examples are much more enlightening.
YES!!! I am NOT the only person in the world who rearranges hotel furniture (or Vrbo home stays) to create better balance and flow! My husband thinks I’m a psycho but I cannot relax when things are not balanced, or do not make sense to room flow. *siiiigh* I feel vindicated. 😂
Reminds me of when I was staying in a hotel and noticed how awkwardly placed the patio furniture was around the pool, very uninviting. So I rearranged all of the furniture and it looked so much more inviting and comfortable! lol
I’m new to your channel and really liking it so far! One suggestion: zoom in closer to your tablet while you’re drawing in your changes. I want to see exactly what you’re doing!
First time seeing your channel. I like your calm, poised voice. The concept of showing subscribers’ volunteered home pictures for critiquing is very interesting! Perhaps if we could see what you are actually doing on the screen (screen recording) when you mention ‘adding a chair here and adding chair there’, it would be more satisfying than just seeing your hand move over the screen. Will be back! 😉
Omg, I’m loving 🥰 these episodes!!!! Very INSTRUCTIONAL videos, who would’ve thought that the simplest things, like placement make such a difference! Well done Rebecca, well done 👍 😉
This video on furniture arrangement was a revelation, offering practical insights and clever tips that completely transformed the layout of my living space, creating a more functional and visually appealing environment. The presenter's expertise and clear visual demonstrations made the entire process a breeze, and I'm thrilled with the results. Many thanks.
Great feedback to the viewers sending pictures. Can't wait to see the updated looks. Loving your shirt Rebecca! You have the best black + white collection on the internet!
I learn new design tips from every one of your videos! you have such a cute personality and wonderful talent for decorating. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Rebecca! Thank you for featuring our home, and for the suggestions. I will take your advice by removing the bulky bookcase from the front entrance and finding two pieces for either side of dining room window. It is a small space, so the pieces would have to be tall and sort of narrow. I did not show the other side of our home which includes the den. It looks pretty fab in my opinion, hence didn’t show. 😊 I will send pics to you when finished! Again, I love you and wish all the best for you and yours ❤
Great content. Love the information that you shared. Not a fan of the ipad. It was too small to really see what you were talking about. More close up would have been better. Liked the single shots of the rooms. You look great! Keep it up. Your longest running fan....
I love watching these videos Rebecca. After many years of doing so, I really do look at my own home and place things better. I too love Symmetry. I think even sometimes just moving furniture around makes it feel new .even bits from other rooms . Colour coordinated rooms too. I have so many friends I think must be colour blind they buy things they like and not necessarily that go even with their decor. I dont say anything though. I would not dare ….. 😂
Please bring back the print photos and sharpies. You can still keep the Ipad though 😅. Great video, but could not see the photos on the Ipad very clearly. Priceless tips, thank you Rebeca!❤
Wow! What a great series, love it! I too love the matching furniture opposite each other. So funny that not too long ago many people said that that was the wrong thing to do by having matching pieces. I’ve always been a big fan of symmetry and think that it gives an upscale look. Please keep this series.
This is too much fun and so helpful! Going to take you up on your suggestion, Rebecca and move my furniture to the middle of the room and away from the wall! Will send new pics!! Francesca
You are a phenomenal decorator interior and exterior designer. It's always a pleasure to watch the outcome of your decorating always simply beautiful thanks for sharing with us all.
Love your Informative shows. How about shows for Downsizering Retirees, Elderly seniors or handicapped persons. Open non cluddered floor plans, Ease in ways to still live and function and be in their homes.
I have decorating training but it still amazes me that some of these things aren't just common sense. I see soooo many homes with glaring decor mistakes, like art hung WAY too high, that I have to wonder what the heck people were thinking, lol.
I like this series. I just wish you had some rendering software & video capture to better show the changes you suggest. Most people do have a hard time imagining a space - hence staging homes for sale - so a render means they have to imagine less.
Your critique of these rooms and advice is great, but I wish you would show a close up to the camera so we really get to see the room, or a mock up of the before and after.
I'm enjoying these videos. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. And, thank you to your viewers who are sharing their photos with you of their home. Looking forward to more videos.
Rebecca this was very helpful. Have you ever thought about creating a decorating book. Showing all your works and ideas, especially in your home and at Christmas time. I'm sure its a great deal of work but I would buy it.
I'm liking this series. It's amazing how the little things make a big impact. I recently got rid of a loveseat in my living room. I don't miss it. I did have it in a "U"shape though. I tore one of the cushions, so it had to go. My apartment is about 560 square feet. The funny thing is over a year ago... my neighbor came over and she asked me if my apartment was bigger than hers, lol. Furniture placement can make a room look bigger.
I have a small space, as well! But, as many have noted, many of the same design rules still apply! I too, live in a small apartment, and am in the process of exchanging a large, heavy bed frame I now have, for a smaller bed frame - with no headboard. ( Even though I like the large bed frame's style, the space would look better when I downsize to a smaller, more modern frame. )
This my intro video to you! I’m hooked! After watching this, I rearranged living room furniture - at 8 p.m. - on a work night. It looks so much better.
Interior designing can be so overwhelming to the point that you can't consider some important things anymore and one way to omit mistakes is being updated with this kinds of tips and recommendations. 💯😉
Ooh! I love you Rebecca! I stumbled upon this channel and now I'm hooked! Thank you, now I seem to analyze furniture everywhere I go, but first my house. Ciao!
I absolutely love all your videos. I've watched your content for years with the makeover Mondays 😂. I would love to see a furniture placement or space planning for smaller rooms ( 15x15 or 10x 10 ft rooms) I find I'm so challenged with smaller rooms, especially when it's a full house. Again thank you for all of this
This was such a helpful video. I wish I could have seen your tablet blown up a little more. Often your hand was blocking the photo when you were showing the changes you suggested. Thanks to everyone who submitted photos.
This video is phenomenal and desperately needed to show people how simple changes can make a huge impact. I would LOVE to see a video series on how to decorate a bookshelf or built-ins to make the most impact.
Thank you! great suggestions and WHY to do something. Thank you. I always learn so very much from you. Have a great day. Love the hotel example you did. Good job.
I love Rebecca so much!!! I have a huge corner fireplace with bay windows and low ceilings. My home was built in the 80”s and it is so hard to decorate. I would love it if you would make a video about furniture placement with corner fireplaces.
Hello Rebecca. Really enjoy watching your videos. Can you do a video on furniture placement in a round or circular living room? How do you achieve symmetry in a space like that?
Thanks for your videos ! Everything you show us looks like real life for me 😁 not just to rich people. Thanks because with your help we can have a beautiful and balance decor in our houses 😄 too 🥰😉
An extraordinary revelation, illuminating the path towards creating irresistibly enchanting spaces. Your wisdom and guidance have bestowed upon us a treasure trove of inspiration, empowering us to wield the magic of design and transform our rooms into captivating abodes. Our heartfelt gratitude for this invaluable gift of knowledge! ❤❤❤
It's interesting that most people have large homes, and rooms. IMHO, if you're entertaining, especially. business clients, and/ or you have a large, extended family, all that space makes no sense. What people are paying for is to impress their social/ economic circles, but are paying much higher taxes. And putting a lot of stress on themselves. 🏆That said, many of the rooms are very nice. And as some others have noted, I'm glad that they DO have the economic means to be able to buy what they want. Also, whatever means some of us do not have, these videos are extremely educational and all these suggestions are applicable to any home situation, small or large; expensive or humble! I have a very small apartment, and look at many of these small spaces tips in many other channel's videos and gather many very interesting ideas. I'm inspired to change a lot around my small apartment! 💞
Watching this video was an eye-opening experience, as it expertly highlighted common errors I never realized I was making in arranging my furniture. kudos madam
Hi I love this video. But I really wish you could show the rooms full screen instead of on the tablet. It leaves much to be desired visually. Other than that, I learned so much and I hope you do more videos like this.
Can you keep the room pic up maybe screen on screen so we can see the furniture and where it should be placed? It’s so hard to see your vision from a 9” iPad and afar on your lap.
It was such fun to see you adjust..adapt the rooms to improve them without great expense. Would you do a video on window treatments and what you do, sources? Fun video Rebecca. Thanks!
Love your video it's really speaks to me. When I was in a new home more big I didn't understand why it was so cold... even with color ... I needed more furniture ... all rooms was empty
🏅Brilliant Rebecca as always. Finding the right balance and central point of any room makes a huge difference. Can't wait to start my project using your save techniques
Totally agree on ALL suggestions! (yes, interior designer for over 20 yrs). My personal fave, of course, was your own "single-chair layout" on the diagonal. Luv! ;) Am thinking that us from your own home. BRAVO, encor!! Ciao...
Once again, thank you, Rebecca! So much good information! I'm getting ready to paint my bedroom; something I've never done before. I have a good idea what I want to do in it. I sold the bedroom set I had because it was too big, too much...and it's all your fault!!❤ 😂
I am in that process, too! I love this bed frame I have (a divorce prompted a move) and while I appreciate the large, heavy bed frame i now have, I realize its scale is just too large for the space! I am in the process of choosing a bed frame which does not overwhelm the small bedroom I have. Good luck - and have fun!
I LOVE THE INFORMATION! You are the best, thank you for sharing. Was happy to hear you say things that I was thinking about the placement of furniture pieces and scale.
Rebecca, you are so talented. Please consider using a stylus or your index finger alone to point or draw on the screen. Because your nails are extremely long, you must point/tap with your hand and finger almost horizontal, which takes up much more room on the screen than pointing more vertically with an index finer ending in a medium or short fingernail. Consider also being filmed from the left so that your hand won’t block the photo on the screen quite so much.
Rebecca! I love your style and ideas! Thank you for giving us a chance here in Canada to have some ideas to decorate on a budjet. I will submit my living room hoping you pick it up! Many thanks! 🙋🇨🇦♥️

Watching this video was an eye-opening experience, as it expertly highlighted common errors I never realized I was making in arranging my furniture. kudos madam
I can’t wait for Christmas! All I was imagining was sparkle and shine added! Soon!
Hi I love this video. But I really wish you could show the rooms full screen instead of on the tablet. It leaves much to be desired visually. Other than that, I learned so much and I hope you do more videos like this.
100 percent agree!
Thanks!
Some of those homes are getting a twofer, rug advice and furniture! Reminds me of fix it Fridays
Love your video it's really speaks to me. When I was in a new home more big I didn't understand why it was so cold... even with color ... I needed more furniture ... all rooms was empty
I have been waiting for these type of videos like you used to do !!! Love it!!
🏅Brilliant Rebecca as always. Finding the right balance and central point of any room makes a huge difference.
Can't wait to start my project using your save techniques
You’re so much fun! I just subscribed. I had to ...because with each of these rooms, you were articulating the voice in my head!!!
Grace of your video I've saved money by no need buy furniture but just by moving them. Thanks
It was amazing to see how just a little tweaking completely changed the hotel room at the end
Totally agree on ALL suggestions! (yes, interior designer for over 20 yrs).
My personal fave, of course, was your own "single-chair layout" on the diagonal. Luv! ;)
Am thinking that us from your own home.
Some of the rooms didn't do a close up and there's no way to see your tablet because it's small. 😢
I LOVE THE INFORMATION! You are the best, thank you for sharing. Was happy to hear you say things that I was thinking about the placement of furniture pieces and scale.
What is that lamp on your left (when you’re in front of the large window)?
Love the ideas, but girl, I’m here to say how fabulous and lean you look! 💜💜💜
I meant to type “finger,” not “finer.”
Rebecca!
I love your style and ideas! Thank you for giving us a chance here in Canada to have some ideas to decorate on a budjet.
I will submit my living room hoping you pick it up!
Many thanks!
