Currently, I've tried claymation and I honestly don't feel the same way about it as most of the UA-cam community do. I have pretty long hair that is about medium in thickness, and I love a natural, healthy looking matte finish. When I used claymation, if I wanted to achieve a natural look there was a limit on how much I could put in (around a finger tip's worth). This meant that at the beginning of the day I had a good hold (not amazing by any means - but good), but throughout the day this degenerated and my hair was all over the place. If I put in a lot more, my hair would hold a bit better (my hair wouldn't be totally all over the place by the end of the day, but still not great) albeit it resulted in loads of greasiness. I've found that By Vilain Golddigger has been the best in terms of hold for me so far, but it still produces a somewhat greasy look if you use enough to ensure that your hair stays up all day. I'm going to try out Quicksand now to see how that works, as well as Hairbond mattifier. Hopefully my experience is useful to any of you guys. By the way, this video is great! Super informative as to what products I hope to try next (modified pomade, sponge wax and of course, quicksand)!
karbrote24ve Yeah, I can safely say that Quicksand is by far the most OVERRATED product ever. The 'dry shampoo' made my hair look way more greasy (even after washing). Mattifier has a wonderful natural finish and amazing smell, but the hold is dreadful, almost non existent. I primarily use as a pre styler.
It seems that there is a more of a haircut/styling issue with product in your case than product it self. What you need to understand is that proper haircut/styling technique is a key to your desired look. Hanz de Fuko is a professional hair product that is best understood when used and explained by a professional ( Not a wanabe) Barber/Stylist...I hope you don’t take this info as a critique on you because I don’t know you or your hairstyle but it seems to me that you are either over due for a proper cut and your hair is just too heavy....or your barber/stylist is just not educating you on ur daily regimen w product ur using and thats sad because clients education should come included in the price.... 🙏🏻✊🏻
I decided to grow out my hair 3 months ago after 10 years of buzzing it to a number 2 which meant i was pretty clueless on pomades and hairstyles. After deciding on a don draper side part, i bought 5 different pomades until i came across Claymation and I LOVE IT. I dont really see myself using any other type of product. I have very thick, straight, dirty blonde hair that requires a lot of hold to keep in place. American Crew doesnt hold my hair PERIOD, it's a complete waste of money. layrite provides too much hold. I feel like i practically need a chisel to do anything to it. Smooth viking and Jack black Gel pomade are decent, but they dont give you enough product which makes it expensive to replace and i found the hold to be slightly lacking in both products. I literally used 3/4 of a brand new tub of smooth viking in 1 week. Claymation provides the PERFECT balance that i was so desperately looking for. The hold is VERY STRONG, but it doesnt leave your hair crispy and too hard like layrite. It also requires very little product to get your desired style, you barley scratch the surface and you get enough material to hold your hair in place all day. I havent had many issues needing to do a few touch ups during the day with claymation, but the times i have, You simply run a wet pocket comb through your hair and it will reset fine. You cannot go wrong with Claymation. If there is any complaint i have, and this is me just being picky, i would like it to have shine. There is NO shine with claymation at all.
Claymation for longer hair.(it gives you a nice texture and you can rework your hairstyle anytime) Quicksand for shorter hair. (it gives a better texture to your hair but you won't be able to work your hand trough hair)
@Alex Dragon I have thin, straight, and less dense hair. I want it thick, natural (matte). So i use mousse and i want try a new routine. Maybe label m thickening tonic/mousse and claymation or quicksand as post styler? Which one do you suggest for thin and straight hair?
Don john same here mate I hate my things straight hair and want some volume for my undercut hairstyles any help on which products I can't decide weather claymation or Dixon of California clay
For anybody that has used both products I am confused weather to get the quicksand or claymation I am looking for a strong hold that will last through the day and have a Matt finish I have straight hair also
+Dan Dunning ok I may be wrong. I started using quicksand the day I posted this after I commented and I love it. It is good on my thick wavy hair. So it gives a high hold (not as high as claymation) but is loose and is very dry. It makes your hair a little stiff and kinda sandy which isn't really a problem. I have somewhat dry hair and this is great for that.
finally been waiting for this video my personal opinion the only decent product is claymation some people might disagree but if you do want to mix both of them up for a beachy look I wud apply quicksand and for the hold I would apply claymation it works well for me I have the same hair as you thick and jet black lol but overall great review ☺
excellent video , I like the application clips for each product 👍 what's the difference in terms of hold and shine between modify pomade and hybridized wax ?
+James Welsh nice one !😃 so comparing the two directly in terms of hold and shine, which would you say has more hold and which more shine ? I ask since they're both marketed as medium hold , and in terms of shine high shine and satin shine, they are basically two terms which mean the same thing , ha
Lol I was as excited as you are when I tried the quicksand. My big purchases are claymation, quicksand and sponge wax. The sponge wax works wonders for me in the heat. Especially here in Vegas it gets pretty hot so that like leaves my product always hot on my hair which I can restyle it with sponge wax. I basically now use the mini kit as travel tubs, it worked great when I went to my Europe tour. Good video bro. Subbed. Your other videos look interesting to.
Hi James! i know that this video is up for ages but i just wanna ask, does the hybridized wax dries quicky on the hair? Thanks! Have a good Night P.S. It's night here in Indonesia :)
For some reason claymation doesn't work that well on me. I have thick, medium wavy hair and about 4-5" on front. But those hairs kinda seem to "fall" move out of place and look weird. So even with my thick long hair, claymation doesn't have that of a goog hold. Any advice?
Are you applying it to the roots of your hair? I know that helped me when I started to do it more. When I 1st got it I was lightly applying it to the roots and focusing more on distributing to the rest of my hair. I would have the same problem of it falling over and not staying in place. I started applying really deep onto the roots and I don't have that problem anymore, stays in place for the whole day.
Hi good evening , how do scheme cream and modify pomade directly compare in terms of strength of hold and level of shine ? thanks and have a great rest of the weekend ☺👍
getting that quicksand tomorrow! since my hair is quite light colour, i´m really hoping it holds true to the ultra matte finish promise, since my hair just looks dirty with shine :(
+James Welsh fair enough. I'm just talking from what I've witnessed in the hair community. The general consensus seems to be that people with thick hair get almost no hold from quicksand so I was actually surprised that you said you got hold. But hey whatever works, works right?
Finally u used Hanz De Fuko. I have their quicksand Claymation And modify pomade. Wanted to try their gravity paste, sadly they stopped shipping to India.
+James Welsh I have original by blumaan. best post-styling product I've cone across, I don't feel that I need another product for styling once I've used it. seems to me to be a little over hyped but it is very good, only downfall is that I have quite wavy hair, and it really emphasis those waves and curls which isn't really what I like when I'm going for a sleeker style.
for people watching from India......Try Kocaine Klay available on Flipkart.... it's gives same result as Claymation..... and also it's all natural ingredients.
I can only get one of their products and I was wondering since I have thin hair would the Claymation be suitable for me or would it weigh down my hair? I know that quicksand is great for thin hair but I don't want my hair to look dry neither do I want it to look shiny more of a ''healthy'' look. I also want it to have a high hold so that it doesn't move because my hair is so annoying it reshapes too easily.
It depends on how much you use on your hair. I use Claymation almost everyday and I just use a small tad because I too have thin hair and it just has a slight shine and manageable/medium hold. If you use a larger amount it might weigh your hair down but you could try to help it with blow drying your hair. Hope I helped. :)
Ahmed Ali Well, You should try both if you could but quicksand IS made for thin hair but Claymation still could work with your hair but everyone's hair is slightly different so it wont be certain that your hair will be suitable for Claymation. I don't really have any more advice other than trying out both products and seeing which is more suitable for you. You should ask professionals as I am just like you. :)
Hey man I like your videos I would like to ask you something since you have used the hanz waxes of fuko, I would like a wax that volume of hairstyle side swept that I want I want you to tell me which would be the ideal? thank you very much
+Unimenius For me, if I use just Scheme Cream as a pre-styler, my hair becomes very greasy. I think its because Scheme Cream gives off a shine. Sometimes I'll mix Scheme Cream with Sponge Wax and use that as a pre-styler because Scheme Cream promotes hair growth.
Just clicked the link for the sample box and got an ad saying I will get a free sample box added to my cart so I just got 2 for the price of one! Thank you
Out of curiosity, which samples did you receive with your order? They don't say on their website if the free samples they now send are randomized or if they give you a small sample of all of them. Thanks in advance!
Damn, your hair looks a-mazing, you know the kind of hair that is not too thick and not too fine, not too straight and not too curly. As the owner of Asian, super straight and thick hair, I envy you lol
+James Welsh thank you so much man, will definetly try and see if i can find one online. P.s. You are doing an amazing job with you channel, keep doing what your doing bro👌🏾
yeah that would be good, but I find it too expensive to ship to Australia, its at least 10 dollars cheaper if I buy from a online store from here such as Asos
eeuuwww!!! never done something like this before! lolzz :D i've also tried colgate whitening toothpaste before.... but it didn't seem to work! expecting coco to do something :D
James Welsh .No Its just a Name of Indian Product..Clay.. Kocaine Klay. And please Make a brand Battel between kocaine Klay and Urbaan gabru zero to infinity.. Please as a Request.
I have thin hair around 4-5inch infront and then 3-4 everywhere else I got the kit and it came with heavymade modify pomade sponng wax , claymation quicksand and gravity paste I really liked using spongewax and a pre styler and then claymation for a fine texture look or quicksand for a drier grity look, I really dont think thin or thick hair doesnt for claymation and quicksand one quicksand gonna give you that dry sandy look other claymation going to give you a more smoother texture look Spongewax name gives you want it says give you a spongy wax feel that bounces around and feels like a sponge . So il choose spongewax for a pre styler Then either claymation for smooth texture or quicksand for a grity sandy dryer look Havent used other yet

Honestly this is one of the best hair videos on this website. Product wise and the way you styled your hair with each one. Very good content
I decided to grow out my hair 3 months ago after 10 years of buzzing it to a number 2 which meant i was pretty clueless on pomades and hairstyles. Try moroccan oil texture clay. It's also really good.
this brother deserves wayyyyy more subs
Got Claymation today and its hands down the best product ive ever used
I can't decide between sponge wax and claymation
+danny Ramirez I've heard that claymation is better for thicker hair, and sponge wax is better for thinner hair.
I have super thick hair and Claymation is amazing for it.
+lol Danny claymation is much much better
Zach G yah I just ordered it
I am so confused I am not sure if I should get Claymation or Quicksand
Claymation for longer hair.(it gives you a nice texture and you can rework your hairstyle anytime)
Quicksand for shorter hair.

*baxter
Yea I got claymation and quicksand I like them both. I put in tresemme volume mousse as a pre styler and that's what works for me
Hey James, which product in your preference, is the BEST for volume after blow drying?
Hy I use Hanz de Fuko claymation for 6 months now and I love it so much it is so worth the Price. its the best Hair product ever .
I have thin and receding hair, which one should i go for? Claymation or Quicksand?
Great video, man! Have you tried cocktailing any of these products together? If so, which ones?
Hey James, great review! Did you already try some Kevin Murphy products? They have an awesome packaging and really good ingredients.
Hey James can you actually do a review on Original ByBlumann? Oh and by the way great review bro!
+James Welsh Oh and by the way Claymation is one of thier most popular product.
yess do one on blumann
Yes.. Hanz De Fuko has become a UA-cam cult. I have tried all their products and Claymation is the best👍🏻
my hair 6 inch which product is best for me??
Thanks James great vid! I've got longer hair and like good hold but a messy style. Which product do you think is best for me? Thanks
Hanz De Fuko or By Vilain? What brand is better in your opinion?
Can you use Claymation or Quicksand daily? Or do they become harmful for your hair after a while?
Awesome video as usual!!! One of the best youtubers
For anybody that has used both products I am confused weather to get the quicksand or claymation I am looking for a strong hold that will last through the day and have a Matt finish I have straight hair also
Is Quicksand also good for dry hair, or would you just go for Claymation in that case and leave Quicksand for oily hair?
Quicksand is for dry and thin hair whereas claymation is versatile
Thanks!
+Dan Dunning ok I may be wrong. I started using quicksand the day I posted this after I commented and I love it. It is good on my thick wavy hair. I have somewhat dry hair and this is great for that.
+Dan Dunning oh btw Zach is my other account if that was confusing
Quicksand is kinda dry shampoo like product I personally use it when my scalp gets oily from avoiding shampoo for 3 days.
finally been waiting for this video my personal opinion the only decent product is claymation some people might disagree but if you do want to mix both of them up for a beachy look I wud apply quicksand and for the hold I would apply claymation it works well for me I have the same hair as you thick and jet black lol but overall great review ☺

Does quicksand dry my hair? is it suitable for everyday using? Thanks for respond :)
Claymation or quicksand for fine and short hair? :D

Deven Dang Thank you, I kinda figured it out over time. It's beast.
Hi good evening , how do scheme cream and modify pomade directly compare in terms of strength of hold and level of shine ? thanks and have a great rest of the weekend ☺👍
getting that quicksand tomorrow! since my hair is quite light colour, i´m really hoping it holds true to the ultra matte finish promise, since my hair just looks dirty with shine :(
What would be better for thinner/finer hair quicksand or claymation?
quicksand-thin hair
claymation- thick hair
+The Kareful Koala
Thanks very much
I think I'll get the mini deluxe kit and see which one is best thanks for your help
+James Welsh fair enough. I'm just talking from what I've witnessed in the hair community. The general consensus seems to be that people with thick hair get almost no hold from quicksand so I was actually surprised that you said you got hold. But hey whatever works, works right?
My hair is quite thin but very long, so do you think quicksand or claymation would be better for a long lasting hold
Claymation doesn't work as good for thin hair
Finally u used Hanz De Fuko.
I have their quicksand
Claymation
And modify pomade.
Wanted to try their gravity paste, sadly they stopped shipping to India.
It's not that good anyway. You got three great products.
+James Welsh it's basically like sponge wax but more stiff, less pliable, and slightly stronger
what product would you recommend for hair that is 2.5 - 3 inches long and for a sort of casual side parted style?
Are you in the UK? Did you vote leave or stay?
haha relevant
If he lives in England and not in London then there is a higher chance he voted leave. I hope he did but it really doesn't matter to me.
Which is better claymation or gravity paste
So the big question that nobody seems to want to Awnser... are any of them better than original by blumaan?
+James Welsh I have original by blumaan. best post-styling product I've cone across, I don't feel that I need another product for styling once I've used it. seems to me to be a little over hyped but it is very good, only downfall is that I have quite wavy hair, and it really emphasis those waves and curls which isn't really what I like when I'm going for a sleeker style.
for people watching from India......Try Kocaine Klay available on Flipkart.... it's gives same result as Claymation..... and also it's all natural ingredients.
Please do a tutorial on the last hair look you did with claymation D:
Is the hanz de fuko claymation esay to wash out??
Can you make a video or maybe just a message comparaison between Hanz de Fuko and By Vilain ? Thanks.
+James Welsh Can you include Original by Blumaan in the comparaison ? Thanks so much 😜
loved the review. Got quicksand and now have my eye on gravity paste. claymation sounds real good :).
***** When I get hold of it. I will let you know what I think. Though my hair is not as great as yours ;).
I don't think you can get gravity paste anymore
My hair is 5 inches long, straight but very dry and has a lot of volume bcz of dryness
which one will be the best option for me?
Yes
which product would be best for thin hair?
Do they sell hanz de fuko in stores??
Which is better claymation or modify pomade
Bryson Christ modify pomade is shit as all hzf product . overpriced and dont work . except claymation but still overpriced
yacine yassine thanks for the info
i have extremely thick hair so which one would be better for me quicksand or claymaition? my hair is thicker than his.
same bro i feel your pain lol
Claymation
claymation best for thick hair, quicksand for thin- medium hair and quicksand is amazing for summer
+ali budak thx bro
+nhat minh oh thx, a lot. what do u mean by summer?
I can only get one of their products and I was wondering since I have thin hair would the Claymation be suitable for me or would it weigh down my hair? I know that quicksand is great for thin hair but I don't want my hair to look dry neither do I want it to look shiny more of a ''healthy'' look. If you use a larger amount it might weigh your hair down but you could try to help it with blow drying your hair. Hope I helped. :)
You sure did! Thanks. So you're saying I can buy claymation instead of quicksand even though I have thin hair?
Ahmed Ali Well, You should try both if you could but quicksand IS made for thin hair but Claymation still could work with your hair but everyone's hair is slightly different so it wont be certain that your hair will be suitable for Claymation. I don't really have any more advice other than trying out both products and seeing which is more suitable for you. You should ask professionals as I am just like you. :)
Where did you get your sweater?
I LOVE HANZ DE FUKO
is there a UK supplier for this sample pack? shipping is alot for this sample!
How much did u pay for all of this plus delivery ??
Hi jam
Can u tell me how can i remove extra hair from my face??
Nice video James.
Hey man I like your videos I would like to ask you something since you have used the hanz waxes of fuko, I would like a wax that volume of hairstyle side swept that I want I want you to tell me which would be the ideal? thank you very much
which do I use if I have thin and long hair?
What has a better hold gravity paste or claymation
Surf Bradster Gravity paste
Robin james or James welsh
How about I can be, Robin James-Welsh?
And you can be James James-Welsh?
Or Robin Welsh-James and James Welsh-James?
This is the BEST idea. Let's do it.
Is the claymation working as pre-styler?
nope
You typically don't want to use clays as a pre-styler. Hanz de fuko sponge wax is the best pre-styler in the HDF line.
Stevottty Alright thank you! :)
+Stevottty have any clue if scheme cream works as a pre styler? I only own claymation scheme cream and a few AC pomades:/
4:28 is that Quicksand or claymation?
Hair on fleeeek! Love the video man! Doing this video v soon too!
+James Welsh will do man!
Hey James, heard of the new Original product by Blumaan? Could you do a review on that por favor
Great video btw, these all inclusive reviews are the best kind
Just clicked the link for the sample box and got an ad saying I will get a free sample box added to my cart so I just got 2 for the price of one! Thank you
One question. Where can I buy that shirt? 😁😅
Could you tell me the name of your haircut? I love it!!! :)
I have really straight hair, does anyone know the best thing to use or do to get wavy hair?
Use wave moos or something
will you do the original by blumaan review?
And i think hanz de fuko will send you their products because you review is really helpful :)) yea , pretty sure
Is Hybridised wax good for long hair
is there any way to get free samples when u buy a product?
not valid :(
+Davincyy try DREX1
yes, i got 10% off.. but i didnt know that u get samples with every order so my bad..thanks
Out of curiosity, which samples did you receive with your order? They don't say on their website if the free samples they now send are randomized or if they give you a small sample of all of them. Thanks in advance!
I didnt buy the product yet, because i still have a little of my previous creme. I wil definetly contact you when i get them!
What do you use for pre-styling when you use claymation?
+James Welsh
can u review gets be products
Damn, your hair looks a-mazing, you know the kind of hair that is not too thick and not too fine, not too straight and not too curly. As the owner of Asian, super straight and thick hair, I envy you lol
I love your channel!
I purchased the mini kit today
I pronounce it honz de fuko

+James Welsh thank you so much man, will definetly try and see if i can find one online.
P.s. You are doing an amazing job with you channel, keep doing what your doing bro👌🏾
does the discount still work
you get 10% off instead of the kit
Trust me bro I used it, put Drex1 in the hanz de fuko website haha
yeah that would be good, but I find it too expensive to ship to Australia, its at least 10 dollars cheaper if I buy from a online store from here such as Asos
can you please help me with the aragan oil company????
Is this good for thin hair??
+James Welsh please make a video on how to keep teeth white FOR REAL bro your teeth are so white It's like my teeth goals
+James Welsh thanks for the reply not many youtubers do that👍
+James Welsh what i remember is that u also mentioned a coconut oil trick!! in that video, does it really work? cz i think i'm gonna try that :D
eeuuwww!!! never done something like this before! lolzz :D i've also tried colgate whitening toothpaste before.... but it didn't seem to work! expecting coco to do something :D
what's the promotional code?
Have you tried any of the Pete and Pedro products?
+James Welsh it's Alpha M. (UA-camr) products. Was hoping to find out your opinion on them! Thanks and keep doing what your doing!
I've heard about them. How good is the hold on putty
Using the word Jet Black before it was cool 😎
claymation or sponge wax?
I can't decide between those two also lol
+danny Ramirez what i know is that clay is better for thicker hair
Hmm I think I'll be buying the claymation.
+danny Ramirez yea, but if you want natural feeling like there's no product, choose wax
Claymation has much better hold
Hey James can you review kocaine Klay and urban gabru zero to Infinity... please
James Welsh .No Its just a Name of Indian Product..Clay.. Kocaine Klay.
And please Make a brand Battel between kocaine Klay and Urbaan gabru zero to infinity..
Please as a Request.
James Welsh ...okay I understand 😂😂😂😂😂
how to get small product like that
YAY!!! Thank you!!
Cool video man
Which has bettee hold claymation or gold digger?
depends , I've tried both and personally think gold digger is a better product for my medium length hair
You should compare sponge wax to golddigger since they are both waxs
You can do dynamite clay and claymation
+Kai Rothery names mean nothing
Edwin Gaitan claymation the hold is strong asf
Excellent review, thank you!
finally thanks for the vid :)
Idk quicksand claymation or gravity paste
Mh yeah back then when he wasn't all shiny
It's actually Fuko De Hanz
Lol I thought Hanz de Fuko was pronounced Hanz de Fucko at first.
how does claymation smell?
It doesn't really smell like anything to be honest. Perhaps there is a hint of 'earthiness' to it but for the most part, it's a neutral smell.
thanks
i just like the accent of yours !!!!
I do use hanz de fuko quicksand
Great vid. Thanks
I have thin hair around 4-5inch infront and then 3-4 everywhere else
I got the kit and it came with heavymade modify pomade sponng wax , claymation quicksand and gravity paste
I really liked using spongewax and a pre styler and then claymation for a fine texture look or quicksand for a drier grity look,
I really dont think thin or thick hair doesnt for claymation and quicksand one quicksand gonna give you that dry sandy look other claymation going to give you a more smoother texture look
Spongewax name gives you want it says give you a spongy wax feel that bounces around and feels like a sponge .
So il choose spongewax for a pre styler
Then either claymation for smooth texture or quicksand for a grity sandy dryer look
Havent used other yet
san po yan mabili ?
I really want that free mini kit but DREX1 is taking 10% off instead of giving the free kit....
i have bee watching your vids can you do a vid on like not axe or lynx but like kind of cheep
