Going 'Back to Basics' with this one. I'll be releasing some men's hair and grooming essentials over the next few weeks (maybe even months). Let me know if there's something you want me to cover. 🙏🏼
Robin James robin can u try go24.7 texture paste vs hands de fuko paste for battle of the brands? GO24.7 IS AMAZING (STRONG HOLD AND STILL LOOKS VERY MATTE!!!!!!)
Robin James This may sound confusing, but how to get different hairstyles, with different products, but same haircut. And maybe what you find appropriate for these haircuts when it comes to fashion.
Robin James Nice video mate keep it up! Looking forward to the new series... also, can you tell me if we can use hair clay daily without damaging or harming the hair? Thanks
i once used hair clay on my hair while it was wet and blow dried it. it turned out pretty well actually! it helps if you find it hard to apply clay on dry hair
The Lockhart's Matte Clay is such a great product! I have it and it is wonderful. Great texture, great hold, natural finish, easy application, and stays restyleable throughout the day.
Really nice video Robin, your assessment of the Claymation in previous videos is also very accurate. Recently got hold of some myself and it performs exactly as you say. Great video today
Thanks a lot man! My parents Bought me first hair clay which is Morrocanoil texture clay and I am so grateful to them for amazing choice and this video helped me thanks
Ive been using this mid range styling product by matrix. Easy to wash out fairly strong hold low shine and its fairly inexpensive at around £11 for 80g its great👍🏻
I always style with clay to my hair from side to side or front.. but the way you swipe clay from back to front just make easier for me to style ( combine with my another styling method ) the basic just swipe your hair from back to front just like this video. Thanks Robin
can already tell this series will be one of my favorites, I want to try the baxter of California clay pomade next, I usually go for a more formal side part combover and have fairly long hair on top and medium on the sides, would the clay pomade still provide a good hold and neat style?
Great vid again Robin I think I will stick with what I know and what I am used to and that is Hanz De Fuko. The style you did in the id is the same one that I do. Great tips . Keep up the good work Robin.
Hi Robin, Great video, thankyou !! Can you please tell me if I can apply oil to my hair on the day I used clay. Or do I need to wash my hair and then oil my hair? Sorry for such a silly question...
Hey could you please make honest review on blumaan's all new products. You are the only one who seem trust worthy. I have ran out of my hair styling supplies. This would be really helpful. Thankyou!
Im just going to keep saying it; damn i love your vids Robin! Always happy to see a new video notification from you! Great video as always, perfect in everyway!
What do you do say, on the second day after making this hairstyle, you want to style it again but you don't want to wash it - do put more mousse in? do you brush it? or do you put more clay in etc.
Blackship by Flagship Pomade Co. makes my hair look the best and has amazing hold, but feels sticky in your hair. Baxter of California feels great in the hair, its not as greasy feeling, but the hold is a little weaker, but I think I'm gonna stick with it because overall it is pretty great
I just bought Layrite Cement Clay and it's really good. I was wondering, can I restyle it for a couple of days? I hate washing my hair everyday. Before I was using a cheap pomade/clay that was great for one day, but after that it just turned bland and fat and almost wet.
Hey, I know I'm a bit late on this video but I just wanted to say great choice of product! But my question to you is about the baxter of california clay effect spray and how you feel about it. An idea for a new video perhaps? I'm interested in your opinion on this product and if it's worth the buy. You've helped me a lot in choosing just about all the products I've bought.
I have thin hair and I was looking for a good hold that would last me the whole day. I would like my hair to still be flexible as well just in case I want to touch up or my significant other wanted to play with my hair. Do you think clay would be the best option or should I try something like a cream?
Hello Robin, I know this is an old video but I kinda need a suggestion about using Hair Clay I always style my hair somewhere near spiky but only on front of my head is the part that I only style, problem is that whenever I use Hair Clay I definitely need to have a comb in my pocket because it never holds! Do you have any suggestion?
Is it “ok” to top an ob pomade with a matte paste(wb, of course)? And if so, is that how to do it..or other way around? Just curious, as i’m fine with the matte paste alone, but sometimes i like some additional tack on certain days an oil based is primarily used but seems to fall a bit limp on me? Thanks so much Robin👌
it's my first time hearing about clay. I'm using I think it's called putty. I forgot the brand. It's the one with the dragon. Anyways, his steps are exactly what I've been doing though there I don't let the putty vanish in my hand. I also don't try to apply it on the scalp as much as possible since I get pimples on the head, LOL. I'm going to try clay soon. Thank you!
Hi Robin. I have fine wavy hair. When I apply hair clay or putty it feels like I am about to pull the hair stands out. How should the product feel in your hands? Mine dry up very quickly and feels kinda sticky as if the hold is doing its work but in my hands so I barely can get through my hair without feeling like I am about pull it all out.
Dear Robin I want to ask,is hair clay damaging to a persons hair(like does it dry the hair out).Or is it only a matter of good and bad quality products?I have very straight hair and I'm experimenting on different kinds of hair products that will suit me.If you have the time I would love to hear your reply :)
First question is, what did you ask for to get your hair cut like that??? And secondly, I am looking for a hair product that washes out easily and doesn't make my hair feel like concrete!!! What do you recommend???
I've got the claymation by Hanz de fuko but it leaves my hair looking very shinny for some reason. I apply the product on blow dried hair. Would you know why this is?
Great video but how long do you leave the product in your hair? If you put clay or wax in your hair, when do you wash your hair and repeat it? I feel so weird if i sleep with wax and style my hair a day later again and go out.
i always sleep with products in my hair and shower in the morning, but if you want to shower before sleeping and style in the morning i dont think it matters.
Hey - you can sleep with it in. Any product against your skin can cause spots and could stain your bedding. Just see how it suits you. I've never had any trouble.
awesome video robin , have been waiting for you to try lockhart matte clay. maybe you can use lockhart for the next brand battle? btw happy new year man, i hope you can achieve 200k subs this year , cheers
Been thinking about getting my bf something to pep up his hair with maybe some texture, cuz he puts nothing on it ever. When he thinks "hair products", he thinks of the greaser look, which I let him know that there are different products that can do different things. He's a really low maintenance adventure guy, so I'm sure he would only want to do a one-step-and-go on his hair, but he seems up for trying something out. What would you recommend he try? I've been thinking clays or pastes, but am not sure. Thanks 😁
Great video and a good idea to go back to basics Robin! :) Also I read the article, there are some interesting products you reviewed :) Would you still say though that Hanz de Fukos Claymation is the best of them? For the series (or as a general video idea) I would seriously love to see a video about whats the difference between thickening tonic and sea salt spray , and how these differences have an impact on their application on the hair. Keep the great videos coming! :-)
Why do your fingers run through your hair so easily? when I'm using clay (im using the hanz de fuko one btw) my hands tend to sort of catch in my hair?
Going 'Back to Basics' with this one.

Robin James robin can u try go24.7 texture paste vs hands de fuko paste for battle of the brands? GO24.7 IS AMAZING (STRONG HOLD AND STILL LOOKS VERY MATTE!!!!!!)
hey robin big fan of your videos. How is your experience with lockharts matte clay ?
Robin James do hair clays work well with long hair?
I'd love if you did a basics video about styling long hair, kinda undercut length
Thanks
thankyou :) i just got a pixie cut and ive been so clueless when trying to apply the clay. your videos have helped.
i once used hair clay on my hair while it was wet and blow dried it. it turned out pretty well actually! it helps if you find it hard to apply clay on dry hair
I always wet my hair a bit before applying, works much better, but my hair is more on the flowy, curly side.
Should’ve watched this before trying out clay for the first time.I used too much and my fingers couldnt go through my hair lol.
Same lmao

The Lockhart's Matte Clay is such a great product! I have it and it is wonderful. Great texture, great hold, natural finish, easy application, and stays restyleable throughout the day.
Couldn't agree more.
it has to be. it`s EUR 72,86 on amazon. Lockhart sells it even for incredible EUR 1.600,21!!! o.O
Do you have fine hair lynus Lao?
Really nice video Robin, your assessment of the Claymation in previous videos is also very accurate. Recently got hold of some myself and it performs exactly as you say. Great video today
Thanks Man. Appreciate your support.
P.S. Subscribed.
Advice for thin hair people : apply you clay on damp hair, it will be applied more evenly, thus giving a better foundation for volume and hold.
Damp works!
What is damp hair?
@@legendplays14 Hair that is damp.
@@legendplays14 slightly wet hair
It doesn’t hold as well
I like that you go straight to the point in your videos. This video was super helpful. Many thanks.
I really like the fonts and colors used in this video, keep it up!
Hey Denis! Thank you.
Thak you for this. ive been looking for stuff like this for so long. especially for the clay. glad I subbed! :)))
Thanks Robin, your tips really helped me to a next level of hairstyling!
one more thing, ur a legend!
Thank you!
Love the new line up of videos. I'm always happy to see a new one. This one was great as always. See ya Sunday.
See you Sunday, Jennifer... if not before. ;-)
That would be great.

love it:-)
Love the new series Robin! Keep up the good work!
Cheers Ryan. Appreciate the support.

Hey, for sure, you can. But if you want it more neat, maybe wax?
Clays and waxes are my favorite hair products to use in general.
Totally! Clay for the win.
good video, i had no idea how to do it despite trying for years 😩
That new jacket looks fabulous on you, Robin!
thank you. Im pretty pleased with it.
Good call making this series. This will open your channel to many new viewers.
I hope so and also to give a little more to you guys already here.
Great vid again Robin I think I will stick with what I know and what I am used to and that is Hanz De Fuko. The style you did in the id is the same one that I do. Great tips . Keep up the good work Robin.
Thanks David. And good choice on style!
Hi Robin,
Great video, thankyou !!
Can you please tell me if I can apply oil to my hair on the day I used clay. Or do I need to wash my hair and then oil my hair?
Sorry for such a silly question...
you know it took me a second to realize that "amant" was actually "amount", great video bud :D

Im just going to keep saying it; damn i love your vids Robin! Always happy to see a new video notification from you! Great video as always, perfect in everyway!
Thanks Simon. Appreciate the support.
You really don't need a fancy clay , I use VO5 Matt clay and it works great
What do you do say, on the second day after making this hairstyle, you want to style it again but you don't want to wash it - do put more mousse in? do you brush it? or do you put more clay in etc.

Finally this video
It's really helpful for me

When I first saw you UA-cam channel I thought you would have a few 1,000,000 I was surprised only 30k
Perfect channel for men
yeah i just wish he had a similar hair type to mine (i have very thick hair) :D
Thank you!
Great video, can't wait to learn about pastes & creams!
Hi Robin, I am a new subscriber. was just wondering what is the best clay for a thick shorter hairstyle?
Which should I use? I have fine and straight hair, I don't really know this much of hairstyling myself but I kinda want to get on it
I have thin hair and I was looking for a good hold that would last me the whole day. I would like my hair to still be flexible as well just in case I want to touch up or my significant other wanted to play with my hair. Do you think clay would be the best option or should I try something like a cream?
So is clay supposed to be healthier for your hair than was and gel is?
Hello Robin, I know this is an old video but I kinda need a suggestion about using Hair Clay
I always style my hair somewhere near spiky but only on front of my head is the part that I only style, problem is that whenever I use Hair Clay I definitely need to have a comb in my pocket because it never holds! Do you have any suggestion?
I subbed. Quick question what does texturising your hair mean because I have a texturising spray and don’t know what it actually does ? lol
Is it “ok” to top an ob pomade with a matte paste(wb, of course)? And if so, is that how to do it..or other way around? Excellent video ! A must watch
Thank you.
Hi, Robin I really like your videos. I have got very thin hair. Which hair clay will you recommend?
robin, after how much time I need to wash my hair after using clay? do I need to wash with shampo or conditioner or just with water?
Hanz De Fuko sells mini samples of the product which is really cool on their website
Is the KEUNE STYLE SCULPTING CLAY a good clay for daily usage and does it have a good hold and quality ?
it's my first time hearing about clay. I'm using I think it's called putty. I forgot the brand. It's the one with the dragon. Congrats on 300k

I'm new to use this type of hair products.. So can you suggest me which M use.. Clay either pomade
Great video!! Which clay would u recommend that could be easily found in Europe? What u think about redken brew clay?
First time ever using hair clay so that was pretty helpful
Love it Robin!
My barber just recommend me some hair clay, this is gonna help me use that, thanks!
This is exactly what i asked for last video :)
You certainly did!
Lockharts Clay has been my favorite product for months.
I love it too!
Great quality video, really helpful advice, please keep it up!!
Robin you look better than usual here. I can't work out if it's a difference in the eyebrows.
It is the eyebrows... I darkened them for this video. Just to pick out my eyes!
Great video. Can we use hair sprays on clays? If yes how much?
Hi Robin. New sub here. Which of those 5 clays would you say is the best? And what would you recommend as a wax? Thanks in advance.
I know I'm late to this channel, but what's your opinion on Aveda's grooming Clay? Have you used it?
Thanks for this!
Thank you very much for this video!
Kindly suggest stylish product for wavy and thin hair. Thanks
Hi robin my hair are not long in length they are till my eyes and I have quite a bit thin hair so should I use hair clay is it good for my hair??
This was actually very informative
Hi Robin, how did you like this clay? Kind regards, Bram
Which would you recommend for straight thick hair: baxter, lockharts, or claymation?
Sir, I'm a huge fan from Philippines. Can you please make a review for Fix Professional Clay Doh? 😁 ❤ Thank you.
It’s crap
I've got the claymation by Hanz de fuko but it leaves my hair looking very shinny for some reason. I apply the product on blow dried hair. Would you know why this is?
Really needed this video 👍🏻
Boom!
Great video but how long do you leave the product in your hair? If you put clay or wax in your hair, when do you wash your hair and repeat it? I feel so weird if i sleep with wax and style my hair a day later again and go out.

Great video Robin!!
Thank you
Hi Robin , how are u . I just wana ask what haircut did u get for this video and what did u instruct your barber for your hair . Thanks
Hey - I've detailed it in the description.
Robin James thanks robin love your videos !!!
Super useful, thanks mate
so you apply prestyler before the clay, where i can buy a prestyler? any recommendation?
awesome video robin , have been waiting for you to try lockhart matte clay. maybe you can use lockhart for the next brand battle?
btw happy new year man, i hope you can achieve 200k subs this year , cheers
Happy New Year! Lockhart's is great. Excited to try more from them.
Nice result, but its neat, its not loose and messy at all 😌
Beautiful tutorial as always..
also what do you think of the byVlain sidekick air spray? Any reviews on this?
What's the best product to style a long fringe?
What do you want to do with it?
Would this be good for a comb over? I have thick hair and it's also not too long short to medium length I would say
Been thinking about getting my bf something to pep up his hair with maybe some texture, cuz he puts nothing on it ever. Erin Vittoria number 1 all the way around.
That's a nice jacket you're wearing! Where'd you get it?
Loving the videos lately! Could you do a review of ‘Hairbond Mattifier’ ?
Great video and a good idea to go back to basics Robin! :) Also I read the article, there are some interesting products you reviewed :) Would you still say though that Hanz de Fukos Claymation is the best of them?
For the series (or as a general video idea) I would seriously love to see a video about whats the difference between thickening tonic and sea salt spray , and how these differences have an impact on their application on the hair.
Keep the great videos coming! :-)
Thank you! I do really like that product. But there are other ones (like this Lockhart's one) that I love.
Great suggestions. Thank you so much.
Thank you Robin!
Hey Robin, loved this video. Can you review BlackLabel Craft clay please? I'd like to hear your opinion.
Good to see another brewer from the "home brewer" community being featured here. Great pointers by the way.
I love your jacket. Brand?
Excellent content- thank you!
Why do your fingers run through your hair so easily? when I'm using clay (im using the hanz de fuko one btw) my hands tend to sort of catch in my hair?
Will clay have the strength to really pull hair in a certain way?
much needed. Cheers!
