I know so many people that got big money from inheritance and blew it on nothing. One friend got 120k in 2 installments and she blew it on everyone. One day they called me to go out to eat and when it was time to pay one person said she’s paying don’t worry about it, I said just because you guys are all taking advantage of her doesn’t mean I’m gonna. She even paid 20k to rent a house for everyone to live with her, bought these people cars. Then when the first 60k was gone she had to take the other 60k out and pay penalties because it was in a retirement fund. Less then a year it was all gone and it was from her parents passing away I felt so bad for her and all the “friends” didn’t pay her back for everything like they said they would. Her parents probably wanted her to use the money to buy a house.
My sister in law works in a car dealership. A 24 year old kid came in, trying to trade in a second hand Lamborghini (which he'd gotten on finance and he couldn't afford the repayments). The dealership politely said no and had to hold back their laughter as he left the store because no one is going to take that car off his hands. Only way for him to get out of the arrangement would be to declare bankruptcy (which would ruin his chance at buying a home for a long while).

He definitely does know how good he has it. He has a hefty retirement account, he has very little debt, and 12% APR isn't outrageous like some of the other 24% or even 30% APR we've seen on the channel. He also went from irresponsible, gas guzzling sports cars, to a reliable, sensible electric SUV (Ford Mach E). He's 20, has a stable job, has career aspirations, and is genuinely asking for financial advice from other people, and not following it blindly. His only flaw is that he's rushing things a bit too much (already talking about joint accounts with his girlfriend). And although the SUV is sensible for most people, it would've been much better to get a $10,000 car, since he probably won't need an SUV for anything until he has kids.

@cris I believe that he THINKS he didn't have the money for the gift. He had a moment of clarity in between a lifetime of spending away his piles of inherited cash at an alarming rate where he realized he was draining cash like crazy and didn't want to go into further CC debt for this particular expense. Before purchasing a car, house, etc, it should be a no brainer to make sure you can afford it in the long run! What many don't realize is that the expenses of owning a car don't stop once the initial amount of money is paid. There's car payments, insurance, periodic servicing, gasoline and registration. All these weekly or monthly expenses can easily bankrupt if not accounted and planned for!
I LOVE it when Caleb mentions how he's single in his videos. It's so cute and makes me giggle. I'm 28 and if I wasn't in the midwest and already in a relationship, he'd be my ideal guy.
I wish I'd been able to learn from Caleb when I was young. I finally got out of debt and for the last 15 years I pay off any credit card purchases weekly. Only way for him to get out of the arrangement would be to declare bankruptcy (which would ruin his chance at buying a home for a long while).

As a 22 year old man I bet he’d be a great friend to have.
I wish I'd been able to learn from Caleb when I was young. I finally got out of debt and for the last 15 years I pay off any credit card purchases weekly. However, I'm learning from Caleb the importance of building savings and cutting out the non-essential spending. We all need to face hard financial truths at any age.
Yeah but you could get hit by a bus tomorrow and all that saving was for nothing, well not totally nothing, the government will take it, I just can't see the point in hardcore saving and living with "non-essential" purchases.
"I cancelled my wizard 101 subscription"
He's already doing more than most people on this show.
He gets half a million just gifted to him. Its literally a farce.
God damn that was the most savage shit I've seen Caleb saying "you're a security gaurd? Who are you gunna stop?"
