Nice job. I have a feeling that when we pull our boat out of the water at the end of the season in September I am going to be doing the same thing. There is a soft spot dead center in the front and I was able to stick an ice pick thru it with minimal pressure. I am, like you did, going with plywood but I am going to add a layer of fiberglass cloth on before installing the carpet. We did that on my friend's boat (recommended by a local boat repair shop) for extra protection against water soaking in and stiffness. That looked like an almost 99.9% match on the carpet color. Mine is straight black so shouldn't have any problems there. Thank you for the great video and stay safe out there!
