Thanks Davy! We love producing disc golf content. We actually have another video coming out in the next month or so, and maybe that one will inspire you to start dyeing lol 👍
Well the method is definitely sound, and im glad you just went for it regardless of the possible outcome. It gives me the chance now to get creative with the dye application knowing what to expect. 👍
Thanks for the feedback Mr. E and good luck with your dyeing process! In the next month or so, we’ll be releasing another dye video (part 2) that will include iDye Poly and cocoa butter. Hopefully we can even better results this time around 🙌
It's funny, art in any form always looks a lot easier than it is. I don't think either of your dyes are terrible. A little practice and I bet you'd create some good ones. Thanks for all you do for disc golf. Happy holidays 🥏🥏🥏⛳
This was absolutely entertaining and convinced me that I am extreme unlikely to ever try to dye a disc. 😁. But greatly appreciate the “how it’s done” information and continue to look forward to future stuff!
that looks more like an actual jawbreaker than the discraft jawbreaker plastic on those pro models. i think that looks so nice. thanks for showing me how to dye my wave so i stop loosing them lo9l
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much. I've been wanting to try to dye my own disc for a while and just didn't even know where to start. perfect video.
aerosol cans typically work better, upright. You may want to use a scraper that is longer than the pan is wide. Thanks for the vid. I am convinced I can tackle this chore on my own discs...
They look ok.... loved watching you try it! You did great! I buy my discs based on how they look and barely have time to get out and play these days!😪 Probably will never try dyeing discs but enjoyed the video! Thanks
I was surprised that I like the wrath better. Very cool and easy. Thanks for this vid, it gives me the confidence to go for it. Now to pick my colors. Thanks!!!
The star spangled wraith for sure👍.. I'm pretty sure Santa is bringing me dyes for Christmas. Can't wait!! Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!!
@@JustDisc I DID! I got almost every color in the rit synthetic dyes. I also got a starter pack of pro chem dyes. Having very nice weather right now and I'm on holiday shutdown so getting alot of outside work done. And I ordered some misprints which I'll remove the stamp if it looks bad and dye those. Thanks for asking 👍
Hey man don't feel bad I tried this a couple months ago and mine turned out way worse hahaha still was a blast and I know they are my God awful discs lol
I think the Wraith looks more pro. I definitely plan to dye one or more discs, but with the dip dye method. I want a variation of the Simon gradient and also try to make a halo-style dyed disc
Make sure you check out our Cell Dyeing Tutorial for our best dyes yet! - ua-cam.com/video/A7O9_dumgOI/v-deo.htmlsi=kCTRLL_KkJ8KdZA2 And thanks for watching Nathan 👍
I loved watching this, and can’t wait to dye my disc! Justin, your dyed discs actually looked cool. Keep up this great disc channel. You are inspiring and are a natural connect with the audience!👏👏👏
Thanks! We have another dyeing video using cocoa butter and pro chem if you havent seen it already! We also have our BEST dyeing video coming out in a couple weeks. Seriously, you got to see our results! ❤️🙌
@@JustDisc I watched the one with the cocoa butter as well. Very interesting. Between the two, which process you like best and why? Also, I’ll look out for the next video.
@GoManGoDiscGolf-he5ho awesome, thanks for watching! Between the 2, go with the cocoa butter and pro chem dye. However, our next video (Disc Dyeing for Newbies Part 3), we do Cell Dyes…And holy moly, it’s our favorite way to dye a disc and gave us the coolest results! Only issue with it is that it takes the most amount of tools to do. We pretty much won’t be doing any other type of dyeing method from here on out 🤪
thanks for putting good info out.i have brain damage and need all discs 1 color, orange is by far the easiest to see so thats what i do.multi colored looks great until it lands in a shady bush then BAM ITS CAMO.i have done cream and hot dip dying,if you want a solid color like me do hot dip, its also faster and i had pockets that got missed with cream on several discs.WHOO FROLFING
anything from an hour to 48 hours may be necessary depending on temperature, brand, color, amount of dye, bed type, technique, desired saturation, line/cell definition, ... as you can see there are so many variables it's impossible to make a general statement about how long you should leave a disc in the bed.
I will definitely be trying this. Question: Can I mix a little bit of dye and shaving cream and basically draw a design I want on the disc then let it dry that way???
Please tell me the name of non-toxic paints to paint the disc. I want to paint a disc for a dog. For the dog to catch the disc. For a dog frisbee. I will be very grateful!!❤
Hey Frankie, thanks for the question! If you want to dye your disc a solid color with no design, you could most likely just stick it in a bowl of dye for 12 hours and it should do the trick! Depends however if you want the back of the disc to be dyed the same color as well. Hope this helps!
Thanks! Check out or most recent dyeing video (cell dyeing) if you want to see our best dyeing method/results yet! And thanks for watching, always appreciated ❤️😎

That's what I was thinking. I've only dyed fabric so far, but now I see that I can dye other materials, and he showed me the how to.
Great video! It’s fantastic to see someone do it for the first time. Highly pedagogical value. Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo!❤

2:45 Acetone will remove the stamp quickly, just go easy.
The first one turned out good. The second looks like a little kid did it. LOL
Cant wait to see your future ones.
They both turned out so good, great video!
Thank you! Cheers Ryan!
Kinda jealous of your hand soap. Twisted Peppermint 😍
😂 The wife will love hearing that
Both look good for first time
Those came out awesome! I've done a handful of dye jobs using the same method. I'd bag that wraith for sure
Thanks Derek!
That wraith is sickkkkkkk
Thank you! Luckily I still have it in the bag 🙌
I just started dying after watching this video! I love it! And a tip. Use your dg towel for cleaning up and you have a cool colorful new towel!

Bro, that Wraith turned out awesome! Great job for a first dye!! I definitely want to try this on one of my discs!!
Let us know how it goes!
Try adding a mix of shaving cream and water to the dye bottles. It makes it easier to pour. I think both look brilliant.
I've definitely heard that works! Thanks for the tip Peter 👍
I like how the Wraith turned out, got some jagged depth to it! I've also recently started dyeing discs. Forget RIT. Get ProChem dyes. Seriously.
Thanks John, glad you like it! 👍. We’ve definitely heard good things about Prochem dyes, so we’ll have to give it a shot 👌

Both came out looking 👌, the tee bird reminds me of a jawbreaker
You are the first to say you like both, so thank you Anjel! 👍
I think they both look awesome. I'd call em the Patriot and the Jawbreaker.
Great names! Thanks Dylan and Rich :)
There is also mixing the dye with the shaving cream in the plastic bottles.

@@JustDisc No problem :).
Does the disc still fly the same after or does the dye affect the weight?

Did you put them in the fridge or just leave them out for the 24 hours?
Mmmmmm lollipops 🤤 Haha this was great!
I’m looking into it. Would there be a good way two practice for cheap

What would you recommend me doing if I want to dye a white disc a solid color?
Hey Frankie, thanks for the question! If you want to dye your disc a solid color with no design, you could most likely just stick it in a bowl of dye for 12 hours and it should do the trick! Depends however if you want the back of the disc to be dyed the same color as well. Hope this helps!
Will these dyes work with the glue method?
Absolutely! Pro chem is recommended over idye poly 👍
You'd make a good drywaller, dude, haha
😂
Can I use Discraft's elite Z plastic?
Yes Levi, you absolutely can! Just stay away from base plastics. If you are ever unsure, don't be 👍afraid to ask!
#2 👍
So dx plastic doesn't hold the dye?
Thought the Teebird looked great actually.
Thanks! Check out or most recent dyeing video (cell dyeing) if you want to see our best dyeing method/results yet!

👍🏾
Go fly it to see how it looks with a spin..
It's not bad at all! Honestly, pretty good for a first dye 👍❤
You only have to leave it in shaving cream for 4-6 hours btw
Thanks for the tip William! Knowing me, I still want to leave it in for as long as possible lol
Idk if anyone told you this but you look like James Pumphrey from Donut Media.
You are most definitely the first! I have however been told at least 20x that I look like Vinney from Jersey Shores lol
Teebird looks way better than the Wraith
First one to say that, thank you! 👍
Can I turn my camouflaged shit brown disc I got on Amazon (colors vary) to something super bright?
Lol. What type of plastic is it?
@@JustDisc it's an mvp disc. Neutron I think
