    I used the suave coconut hair conditioner. It's like $2 for a giant bottle and my discs still smell great three years later.

    It's like looking at a kindergartener's art project vs maybe 8th grade or above. Nice results. Much better than the shaving cream experiment.

    Put the lotion bottle in a hot water bath before you put it on the plate and it will self level.

    I bought a beginner dye set that comes with lotion, dyr and a white Tern. I don't know what pattern I'm gonna do yet. I like the 1 u did. I'm excited because I love the Tern and having a custom dyed 1 that Flys great and makes people jealous sounds fun to me.

    So after miking the dye and lotion, can you store somehow and it will still be good? Is there a proper storage for next use?

    • @JustDisc
      @JustDisc  Рік тому +2

      You can reuse your paint in the pie tray, but it won’t come out like you want. And you can definitely still store your paint and lotion bottles for another time 👍

    Seems like such a waste to use lotion. The cost adds up for sure. Seeing that the lotion is primarily water, alcohol and some oil/glycol.... Im wondering if something better can be made from guar gum or xanthan gum. Hell, maybe even just corn starch or flour with water. I'll have to try some things, as I would guess that some bases would abosrb the dye too much. Water has a heavy specific gravity, so as long as the base is mostly water, I would suspect it supports dyes mixed with lighter fluids like mineral spirits or alcohol. Cocoa butter is ALMOST as heavy as pure water. Of course, there's always the factor of surface tension to consider. With prices of cocoa butter and glue on the rise, as well as it just being so wasteful, I hope I can find an alternative. My septic tank wont like cocoa butter and it just seems wrong to throw it out by the gallon, in the yard. Hell, shaving cream is frothy soap and glycerin. Maybe old cheap latex paint by the gallon? Liquids THEN powders to mix better, like when making kool-aid. I got good info from Chemdye about the composition of their dyes. Hot water disolves the additives in the powders best. They add anti-static and anti clumping additives. Its more about the mechanical properties of each chem being used, over any actual chemical reactions. Surface tension, specific gravity and hygroscopic tendencies ftw! I could see a turntable being handy for sure. Thank you for the vids. I HAVE to dye a cpla my beloved moonshine frost sparks. They are clear so I simply cannot see them during the day. Frostline sucks for glow, so daylight and heatsoaked DYE it is!
