      Thanks James! The Pro 600 has been an awesome machine for me. And to this day my testing results and research have convinced me of the same thing. If I'm going to be making 6 or more cups at a time I would most likely get the Syncronika or the Pro 700. If I'm only making a couple at a time then the Pro 600 is in my opinion very hard to beat. It has most of the important features of the larger top end units but with a little smaller footprint and slightly smaller boilers. For me the smaller boilers seem to heat up very fast so it's a win-win. Most people say 30-40 minutes warm up time for a semi auto to make the best coffee. Honestly I can make a very, very good tasting cup in probably 11-12 minutes if I had to really rush it, and it would taste phenomenal. With my wifi outlets I have it programmed so it's plenty warmed up by the time I make it so I never worry about it but if I did need a quick cup and it was off it's great to know it is that fast. Even with all the new stuff I would most certainly get another Pro 600 if something happened to mine.

      Computer Pro We finally pulled the trigger today and have a Pro 600 and Eureka Mignon Specialita heading our way! We also ordered the Lunar scale, and the IMS shower screen is on the wish list. I’m really excited and can’t wait to start learning this craft.

      Our Profitec 500 is now 5 years old and we have made thousands of great coffees. I’ve learned some maintenance and repair skills, and it still looks SO cool on the counter. Thinking quite seriously about a 600 now with Flow Control, and why not?

    I don't think it matters if you dump your grinds in the sink. We like to compost our coffee grinds in the soil, to use for the next springtime veggie garden. We don't have an espresso machine yet. Just a Bunn drip brewer. My wife and I just drink black coffee. But it's nice that the Pro 600 lets you turn off the steam boiler. It's still worth buying for when we would have friends come over. Thank you for sharing!

    Unless you use the silicone brew group gasket, leaving the portafilter in place when not in use will compress the rubber and make it fail earlier. The silicone gaskets are available on Amazon. They are easier to remove when you clean the brew group and they last for years.

    Do you feel this machine is lacking by not being able to plumb directly into your water line? And on that note, do you use a specific type of water or just use the tap?

    • @ComputerProMedia
      @ComputerProMedia  3 роки тому +1

      I don't think it matters too much based on the volume that I do. I only make one or two in the morning and a few on weekends. If I had a larger crowd or bigger family that I had to make drinks for then filling the reservoir so much might become a pain. But for my volume it's fine. I do use a BWT water pitcher that has some type of magnesium mineralized system that keeps hard water at a minimum. It's the closest thing to having a water softener I think. Don't use distilled water as the system needs some metal in the water to activate water level switches and things like that. But the short answer is if your doing several drinks daily or multiple times a day, then a plumbed in unit would be a better fit I think.

    Do you still have this machine? Is it pretty low maintenance? Thinking about pulling the trigger on a 3 year old unit that someone is selling for the same price as a new Breville Dual Boiler.

    • @ComputerProMedia
      @ComputerProMedia  2 роки тому

      I still have it. It's our daily driver. Seems to be low maintenance. I back flush every day but that only takes a few seconds. Then I do a black flush with cleaner every few months. I only use it once daily in the mornings though, so it's not heavily used. If the price is good, I'd snatch that in a heartbeat. I still think it's the best unit out there due to the smaller boiler size, means it heats up and is ready in a crazy amount of time, like 10 min or less, compared to other units. If you need to make drinks for 5+ people at once often, then I'd go with a larger unit like the Pro 700. But for what I do this unit is better than the 700 for me due to the boiler size. It's a workhorse and a huge step up from a Breville dual boiler for sure.

    • @barnee27
      @barnee27 2 роки тому

      @@ComputerProMedia thanks, that's really encouraging. Honestly your videos convinced me that it's the machine I want to invest in and try out. There's a lot of reviews out there but they tend to be from people who seem to constantly be upgrading and sometimes getting their machines for free to review so I question their bias. I was just looking for someone who actually owns it long-term and enjoys it. I wouldn't hate for it to be my end-game machine. I'm getting a 3 year old unit for $1,500 from someone somewhat local who is upgrading to the La Marzocco Micra.
      What do you do for water?

    • @ComputerProMedia
      @ComputerProMedia  2 роки тому

      @@barnee27 Water is a funny thing lol. You can't use distilled as it doesn't have minerals to trigger the switches. We have a BWT pitcher that replaces calcium with magnesium or something strange like that. It works like a normal water filter pitcher, you fill it and it drips down for about 3-5 minutes and its ready to pour. I looked for something that would provide filtered, clean water, but not leave calcium deposits in the machine that I would have to clean out. So far it seems to be doing the job pretty good. I might get a whole house water softener at some point but until then I just use that pitcher to fill the machine.

      @@ComputerProMedia yeah I’m not much of a scientist and I’m very quickly being reminded that chemistry was my worse subject in school lol. Too hard and it leads to scale. But also apparently distilled can be corrosive? What are your thoughts on those 5 gallon Primo jugs that you can refill and exchange at stores? It’s supposedly reverse osmosis water that’s been remineralized for flavor but I’m still trying to get my head around what the appropriate amount of mineralization versus hardness is and how to test it. In a perfect world I’d love to just swap out a huge bottle like that and not have to think about it. Do you ever test your water?
      I picked up my machine last night from a guy who is upgrading to a La Marzocco Micra and I’m really excited to get started trying it out. He invited us in to show me how it works and pull some shots (funny enough, he dumped his puck into the garbage disposal too!) I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was, how easy it is to adjust the pressure with that turn screw, and how powerful the 4 hole steam tip is.
      Thanks for the help. I really appreciate you taking the time. With water I just want to make sure I don’t do something stupid since this does feel like one of the few areas where I could cause damage to the machine if I’m doing it wrong.

      In a way it does. I'm lucky that my sink is next to the steam wand so one stream goes in the drip tray and one goes in the sink lol. I usually put a pitcher or mug under it now and really never notice it anymore.

      Heat up time seems to be around 10 minutes or so. I think 15 is good to pull a good tasting shot. @ComputerProMedia  5 років тому +1

      @@emrehannn3165 I know how you feel! I had a lot of choices to make. Luckily I tried several and was able to return / exchange or upgrade to my final unit. The Pro 600 heats up super quick so not sure there would be much difference between that and the 300, maybe a few minutes at the most. The biggest difference is the price of roughly $650 difference between the two. If you can swing the Pro 600 I'd say definitely get it, but otherwise I think the Pro 300 would produce awesome shots also. Then there's the cost of the grinder. A good grinder is just as important (some say even more) than your espresso machine. Good luck with your search! I think you will be happy with either unit.
      Almost forgot to mention... if you want to make a lot of hot, milk based drinks using the steam function, the Pro 600 has a super high pressure steam system! The steam power is amazing! If your only doing straight shots or cold milk drinks only then probably not so much of an issue. But if your into hot milk (steamed) drinks, then make sure you factor that in your decision.

      @@emrehannn3165 I have some comparisons on my youtube channel. I went from the Gaggia Brera > Gaggia Babila > Breville Oracle Touch > Expobar Brewtus IV > Profitec Pro 600.
      The super autos were convenient but the end result was nowhere as good as the semi automatic machines. The Oracle Touch was interesting. I could find my self liking that unit but the durability came into question, especially at that price. Also, it had a push button power switch not a toggle, so there is no real way to use any wifi power plug like I have on my Pro 600. The wifi plugs make it super easy to set schedules, turn the machine on before driving home etc. The Brewtus was nice although it did have a plastic smell that was slowly going away. In the end, the Pro 600 was made much nice than the Brewtus. The boilers were stainless steel instead of copper, and smaller so the heat up time was very good on the Pro 600 but average on the Brewtus. I truly think the Pro 600 is the best unit for a lot of situations. If you need to serve many people at the same time or need the unit plumbed in then the a larger unit like the Pro 700, or Syncronika would be the better choice. For 1 to 3 drinks at a time the 600 is going to be very hard to beat with it's features and super quick heat up time.

      Ali Alali Hi Ali, congrats on the Pro 600! Echo Dots work great. We have several of them. I tried the fire tablet with the echo dock and it is not good, you have to scream at it for it to work. The small Echo dots can pick up your voice from much farther away. Also they are small so they fit in more places.
      For the switch to plug in the pro 600 I would get the TP link Wi-Fi mi I switch.
      You Can get the whole electrical outlet like I did but then you have to wire it in. The mini plugs just plug into the wall so there’s no wiring needed. For the echo dot there are a few options, colors etc. as long as it’s an Echo Dot it should work fine. Here is the TP Link plug:

    Google basically said that the a2 milk vs a1 milk is mainly a marketing trick to differentiate that milk from the "common" milk. The company behind it also spread some claims about the health risks of a1 milk which could not be validated by academia. So,... it's probably fine but I wouldn't buy it purely because of how the company advertises the milk...

    • @ComputerProMedia
      @ComputerProMedia  3 роки тому

      Technically A2 milk doesn't carry the A11 casein so there is a difference. Whether it matters or not is up for debate. I drink both, mainly A1 grass-fed milk these days. But I can easily digest and tolerate both kinds. I think A2 milk is more for the people who are lactose intolerant with A1 casein.
