And to think that exactly "five fucking years ago" on ( Friday September 13th 2019 ) I found out that Bauhaus were "reuniting" after a "36 year hiatus". What a LUCKY Friday the 13th that was for me!!!... Jesus, Peter looking so fucking GORGEOUS here throughout the video ( specially at the end wearing those white tights ) making this current "Friday the 13th" a fucking TREAT for me reminiscing about the Bauhaus "early days". ***Friday September 13th 2024***
This is from the Cambridge gig at the Corn Exchange on June 27th 1981. I was there, and can spot a few of my friends clearly in the audienve. A lot of us ventured from Norwich to Cambridge for the gig.
I can't explain in words how happy I am, I'm impressed, this video has enormous historical importance from my point of view, please upload other Birthday Party performances if you have others (or this evening's fullset) possibly without extra writing. greetings from a inspired 19 year old Italian
I was 10, and a Leicester schoolboy, still a few years away from discovering a band that I’d love for the next near-40 years. Thank you for releasing this historically fascinating footage 🍻
TRACEY Pew..Mick Harvey on guitar,Hugo race not involved until early Bad seeds 3yrs later.. Rowland drumming at top/back.. and sticking drumsticks on Tracey's bass...!
@@marcellkanto5400 In England we do see Aussies making music as a bit of a joke. That's not an Aussies role in the world. You're not meant to make music or be part of the arts. You're meant to be at the bottom of the earth, like the convicts. That's how a lot of us think of Aussies. You can play sport and be in the outback, but when Aussies do music, we're thinking ''what are you doing? why are you doing that? that's not you''. That's just how we you lot over here in Britain.

Hoping for many more
Best ive seen in years
Thank you very much for this
Graham .. Good vid definitely
Wrong credit on screen: Tracey Pew on bass, right, but Mick Harvey on guitar. Howard is the third drummer (at the bottom).

Wow !!!
😺
calling it a ‘drum off’ and adding words like ‘competition’ and ‘~ declares victory’ is all a bit silly and misleading don’t you think?
Murphy bemused then pissed off with Ash at not screaming properly that he then screams in his face...Caves audience, just bemused...
😳
Que ano foi isso
Date was June 27th, 1981
😱 OMG!!!!
get rid of the aussie and just have Pete there, and the video would be perfect
Funny… was thinking just the opposite 😂
Don't touch The Birthday Party
