Peter is such a charismatic gentleman with a beautiful voice! I wonder why he was lip syncing to his original song here, though? He has such an amazing singing voice when sung live! Playback wasn’t necessary here; he could’ve delivered a wonderful live performance 😊
I saw this show in Nashville, TN believe it or not. It was in a venue that no longer exists--no seats, everyone stood--and there was a big crowd. Two things I remember so well: 1. Usually the band will come out and play and then the singer will run onstage to thunderous applause. That wasn't what happened. Peter Murphy just walked out with the band, as casual as could be, and stood in the corner until it was time for him to start singing. From far away, you thought, is that him? Isn't he going to make an entrance? And 2. When he did start singing, some people at the edge of the stage kept raising their arms up and trying to grab him--almost like they were trying to grab his cr#tch. (He was that close to the edge of the stage.) And he stepped back and just said, "Stop that, it's stupid." Lol.
I’d seen him at the Vic in Chicago, Jewel opened up for him. I was blonde and everyone thought I was there to see Jewel. I said both...I loved that concert, his voice is rich, deep and haunting. Jewel was really good, she seemed nervous down to the crowd but I loved her. Beautiful times .🙏❤️
I went to the same high school as Jewel in Anchorage. I was a senior and she was a sophomore at the time so I barely remember her. It was at Stellar Secondary, the nerd school (no bells, we could leave class whenever we wanted and there were no requirements to go to class as long as we kept up; it was like college in a sense.) Apparently Jewel didn’t like it there; which makes sense since she always seemed really shy and non-talkative.

@RSB,
Very well said. I agree. 😊
Robert Smith from the "Cure?" He doesn't have any kids.
Robert smith and his wife Mary Poole , don't have any children , and they have never wanted to have children , but i understand what you mean .
Gary Numan performs with his daughter. 😉
Modern music got nothing on this stuff. Such creativity and genuine showmanship back then.
Mentioned that the most important thing for him outside of music was his daughter. Bravo.

I find you in the morning
After dreams of distant signs
You pour yourself over me
Like the sun through the blinds
You lift me up
And get me out
Keep me walking
But never shout
Hold the secret close
I hear you say
You know the way
It throws about
It takes you in
And spits you out
It spits you out
When you desire
To conquer it
To feel you're higher
To follow it
You must be clean
With mistakes
That you do mean
Move the heart
Switch the pace
Look for what seems out of place
On and on it goes
Calling like a distant wind
Through the zero hour we'll walk
We'll cut the thick and break the thin
No sound to break no moment clear
When all the doubts are crystal clear
Crashing hard into the secret wind
You know the way
It twists and turns
Changing color
Spinning yarns
You know the way
It leaves you dry
It cuts you up
And takes you high
You know the way
It's painted gold
Is it honey
Is it gold
You know the way
It throws about
It takes you in
And spits you out
Oh, cuts you up
Oh, cuts you up
Oh, cuts you up
Oh, la la la la la la la la
You know the way
It throws about
It takes you in
And spits you out
It spits you out
When you desire
To conquer it
To feel you're higher
To follow it
You must be clean
With mistakes
That you do mean
Move the heart
Switch the pace
Look for what
Seems out of place
Oh, cuts you up
Oh, cuts you up
It's o.k.
It goes this way
The line is thin
It twists away
Cuts you up
And spits you out
Keeps you walking
But never shout
Oh
Oh
