Another vote to contact Steve Letho. Even if the lemon law doesn't apply in your case, I'm sure with the years of experience he has dealing with this stuff, he may have some insight in how to proceed. If you are close to one of these folks: NY (South Main Auto) or PA (Pine Hollow Diagnostics), or Illinois (Ford Tech Makuloco/BSG Auto) it would be well worth stopping by and having them take a look. I know it sounds crazy to have to go that route, and will be on your dime, but at least you can have confidence that the people working on it know their stuff. Thank you for posting your journey through this. Any manufacturer can (and will) have problems. The difference is in how they make it right. After following along with you, Ford is definitely off my list. Let us know how you make out and best of luck!

What about the local News station, "On Your Side" type of assistance?? Ford will hate that type of public outrage! It may help resolve things. Good luck on this!!
Years ago a man in Florence Alabama had problems with their Ford truck and Ford wouldn't help. He put a lemon tree in the back and parked it on the main highway with a lemon sign on it. Ford offered to buy the truck back. He was a millionaire so he told them no. Soon someone put another Ford truck beside of his with a lemon tree in the back of it.
@@МихаилЩербаков-й9щ From Wikipedia - The concept of describing a highly flawed item as a "lemon" predates its use in describing cars and can be traced back to the beginning of the 20th century as a British and American slang term. "To hand someone a lemon" in British slang dated 1906 was "to pass off a sub-standard article as a good one"; in 1909, American English slang use of "lemon" represented "worthless thing, disappointment, booby prize"
I seen that recently with the new Toyota crown hydrogen car. She wrapped it.. in a lemon covering the center of both doors. And lemon all over the car warning.. It was professionally done.. I got such a kick out of it.
I can't stress how much this video helped me. I was dealing with major issues with my Explorer ST(covered under warranty, recalls) and was looking at a new F250 Platinum. The service was a nightmare and was getting the run around w/ the warranty coverage. It was still under the bumper to bumper warranty and I had ESP. Ford Corporate literally told me that they couldn't help me because... "Each of our dealerships are independently owned and operated. While Ford Motor Company creates the product, our dealerships have their own business and sales practices that Ford Motor Company does not control." .... Good job Ford, you lost another customer. Needless to say I sold the Explorer the next day, canceled all the extended warranties and stopping moving forward on the F250 purchase, and have went with a GMC 2500HD I was interested instead.
I applaud you for cancelling your order for the Bronco. Ford does treat their customers like crap. I walked away from Ford 5 years ago because of a transmission issue with a one ton van. No more Ford's. I bought a GM
Well, then you're missing out on a great vehicle. That's an odd decision honestly. If you think Ford is the only manufacturer that has stories like this, I have oceanfront property in Nebraska to sell you. This is one case from a youtube channel that profits off hits and likes. That jeep they were bragging about, yeah, go look at the complaints online about jeeps. If you're going to cancel orders due to one bad situation, then you might as well just go buy a bmx bike, because no manufacturer, or dealer is perfect.

@@BeardedFordTech What have you been smoking? According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) through December 20, Ford has issued 54 recalls potentially affecting 5,692,135 vehicles in 2023, the most of any automaker. This year marks the third year in a row Ford has held the top spot for recalls in the United States.
@mikeskidmore6754 my mistake it was honda. I did a video on it a while back. But yes ford just passed them again. Honda dropped to 7. Ford back at 1. And GM just recalled 449k Vehicles. Chrysler is in 2nd. Pretty close to passing ford.
Our local Ford dealership was/is notorious for selling lemons, both new and used. Evidently, they sold a defective Ford to a local resident, then refused to honor his warranty. This buyer bought a lemon costume and picketed in front of the dealership for a week or two. He eventually got his money back under the lemon law, plus the dealership lost a lot of customers and sales. 😅
Nah bro the techs don't want to touch these overcomplicated vehicles because the engineers have made them like German cars to keep regular mechanics from working on them 🤔 which also means their Mechanic's also don't want to touch them. We should have just let them go into bankruptcy 🤔 by the way Buzzbomb great story. 18:14
My 21 year old Volvo has cold AC, 333,359 Kms, No Rust and we just love it... Also love your story!! Have faith .. it'll get fixed in the end ! Keeeppp fighting !
I had this happen on my truck. Both the compressor AND the Battery Junction Box need to be replaced. There is a non serviceable relay in the BJB that chatters and takes out the compressor.
I think this is what the service tech was talking about when he said there was a short in the battery box. Hopefully they can get it narrowed down for us soon. Glad you got yours fixed. ~D
@hathawaywego why is it you can't comment on your post? I can only respond to an existing post. Anyway, I went through this same crap on my truck over a driveshaft. It was on backorder with no delivery date in sight. They had several exact trucks sitting on the lot. I said, "take one of one of those trucks" nope, there the truck sat. I paid $84,000 for this truck and ford did nothing!!. I've always owned ford but that I'm not sure i will ever purchase another new ford truck!!
@@mx_ata2d642 Not sure why you can't comment, but I'm glad you found a way to reach out. Sounds like we've had very similar experiences with Ford!! The dealership we've been trying to work with stated they would take a compressor out of a new truck to fix ours if they had to. Just another lie. ~D
@@mx_ata2d642 Yep went to a GM and never going back 👍 hopefully it doesn't have to many of those electronic issues. Have had one and it cost me $800.00 that GM should have covered,,
Definitely pursue this line. Get an independent shop to put an oscilloscope on the power and control lines to the compressor. Look for the relay chatter on the power and a proper control signal.
@@Astrand1 Try a buyback without a lawyer and they will all tell you to pound sand. Every other day this dude makes a video "WAH they still haven't fixed my AC." Call a lemon law lawyer and get the show on the road.
I had a 1982 chevrolet s-10 that had no power steering, power brakes, cruise control, electric windows, locks, abs, air bags, radio, air conditioning or any other gimmicks. It was the most reliable vehicle I ever owned.
As an AC contractor I find Ford's diagnostic ability next to null. All that should be done is to hook up the pressure gauges to the hi and low side of the system and bypass the computer by just engaging the clutch with a 12v power source and an appropriate ground. As was earlier stated the AC clutch coil was engaging. Now with a constant engagement said compressor will engage (assuming the compressor is not faulty) and allow pressures to be monitored. If it still doesn't cool and adequate pressures were seen, I would evacuate said system and then put in under a vacuum to see if there are any leaks. If none I would then pressurize the system with Nitrogen and see if leaks occur under positive pressure. With no leaks under either vacuum or pressure test, I would then refill said system with refrigerant and possibly some dye (just in case there is a leak). Since the cooling is actually done within the evaporator coil (which is probably in the cabin and requires 12 hours to replace) I would either suspect an evaporator coil fan malfunction, which would ice up the refrigerant lines and evaporator or some failure in the expansion valve (whether a TXV, or capillary type). Ford's response indicates a total disregard for their customers and having seen so many other Ford customers in similar situations I have caused numerous others to not even contemplate a Ford purchase and Ford deserves such treatment.
Guys I’ll be following along. Been a Ford guy for a long time. I bought my last Ford two years ago. It has six recalls on it, but I use it in my business and can’t be without it. At 6 months in it left me stranded in the summer heat in Central Oklahoma. Ford Road Side Service only wanted me to pay $600 to have it towed to a dealer. Ended up having to use my insurance road side. It was an electrical issue, burned up my alternator. Fixed this and then they found my fuse block had melted as well. This was available in Ft Worth Tx, 3hrs away at their central distribution center. I couldn’t go pick it up in the rental I was paying for. An ice storm came in causing four days of delays. Luckily this small town dealer, I fought to tow my truck to, got the part set out for me to pick up because they would not deliver. Ran the part back to the dealer and they installed it at 5pm. Since then my drivers side window switch is going out, transfer case is leaking fluid, paint is peeling off front bumper and valance(which ford dealer painted three times when I purchased the truck), the list goes on and on. In my local market, as of two days ago, Ford is now the highest priced super duty truck! I’ve owned Dodge as well and do not like the comfort. I will be switching to GM products soon, very soon. The dealership I purchased my current truck from was brand new in my market, they made my trade in because they were trying to move vehicles and get their name out. All new staff because they owned many dealerships all over the Texas market. After my second trip into the dealer for paint issues, the sales mgr told me he was very disappointed in me for leaving a review on my sales person. Because I was honest he did not get a great review. He knew nothing when it came to the technology in my purchase. He’d just transferred from south Texas from another “company owned” Toyota dealer. Apparently I ruined his commission base and I’m sure affected the sales mgr pay with the review. He was very rude about it because I was honest. Never did he attempt to correct it, go over the features/bells/whistles/ etc. Just boldly told me he didn’t appreciate the review I left for his salesman as it affected his pay. Piss poor customer service. Oh and lastly in my book, sold me a maintenance pkg for oil changes etc. Took truck in first time for an oil change, which took two days! And I paid them close to $100 because I had no maintenance pkg they could find. At the same dealership! I won’t be back to Ford. Could go on about another Ford experience in the last two months but I’ve written a book already. Tried to buy another, they sold one to a friend, asked for same truck pkg, no call back, three weeks later he calls and offers to this friend. Still no call back. Absolutely amazing!! Good luck guys. I hope something comes out of this!
Sad thing is, every manufacturer has some kind of issues with their Heavy Duty Trucks. It’s the luck of the draw nowadays. As a former long time Ford Dealership Employee, I’ve dealt with issues like this many times. I hate to say it, but hire an attorney before you deal anymore with Ford, let them handle it forward. Ford will eventually buy it back, it’s just a process, also, keep spreading the word on Social Media, bad press is far more damaging than one upset customer. Good Luck guys. I also just shared this with every Ford Social Media Account I could post it to.
You are awesome, thank you for sharing it. We are definitely researching the attorney avenue. We had no idea what a nightmare we were getting into! Thanks so much for watching and for your comment and advice. Much appreciated! ~C
If you do not fit under the Arizona Lemon Law, then you need to check with a Lawyer about the Federal Consumer Law, I think it is called the Magnuson- Moss Rule. I had to do this with my Ram that I have had back to fix 15 times, with different parts thrown at it hoping something will stick , I tried the lemon law on mine, but due to state rules, I missed it by 2k Miles. My lawyer filed under the Federal rule for compensation......Check on it, you might be surprised.
It’s the Magnuson-Moss warranty act. As many have suggested, Steve Lehto is well versed in vehicle warranty issues. Event though he is licensed in MI only, Magnusson -Moss is a federal law.
I just left a Service School class for Tohatsu outboards and they talked big about customer service and doing the right thing for the customer even when they shouldn’t and honestly they actually do and that’s a first I’ve seen. They care a lot about dealers and customers, guy blew up a motor no oil change and brought it to us. Tohatsu replaced it under warranty no hassle. Wish Ford would do the same as Tohatsu. Sorry you guys are going through this, thanks for sharing.
You hit the nail on the head when you said there is no trouble shooting skills anymore. Just do what the computer says to do, so they just throw parts at the problem! I had issues with my air bag in my Silverado. And they basically threw parts at it until hit the right part! And cost me $1100,
I was a Ford tech for 28 years. When I started out they hired guys that were good at what they did. In the 80's they started a program where college age kids could pay $3,500 per semester and become mechanics> They needed a dealer to sponsor them for the 5 year program and they had to see it through. The problem was two fold, first off, they were basically buying their job, secondly, the shop didn't get to hire based on ability, they hired only through that program from then on. Once in a while someone came along that turned into a decent tech, but more often then not, they were kids who liked the idea of being a mechanic but had no natural mechanical ability and they were worthless even when they were done the program. I saw those guys wreck cars, waste thousands of dollars in parts only to not fix the vehicle, and there were some who were just dangerous in the shop. As the years went on it was all that they hired and the shop was a joke. Then while they were in school, they did an 8 to 10 week work period every so many weeks, when they were working, they were assigned to an A tech and we were supposed to 'keep and eye on them". Then we found out they were paying them more than they were paying the senior techs who had been there for years and had experience. That was when I said screw it and left the business. A guy who had been there for 20 years would max out at $24.50/hr, but those trainees got started at $24.80 and were paid $28/hr when they finished the program, and we were still supposed to help them if they got in trouble. I couldn't imagine taking a new car back to some of these dealers these days with the level of techs they hire. To make it even worse, when I left, they tried to assign my training history to one of the new techs to make it look like he had a master training certificate and diesel certification. I found out when the Cummins rep called me to verify my 'address change' for a replacement plaque they ordered to hang on the wall because I took mine when I left. They gave one of the new kids my 'training ID number and were trying to pass it off as if he had all those years of experience and training. Having a trained tech in each diesel engine brand was a requirement to maintain the franchise. I made it clear to the rep that i had left that place 14 months prior to that. Bye bye franchise was he result. They tried to hire a guy from another dealer with the certifications at the last minute but once I told him what they pulled, he backed out and left them hanging. The dealer closed up within a year of that all happening.
I hired an attorney several years ago and filed against an auto manufacturer. The truck I paid 61k for in 17 had many issues. The Cummins V8 had issues after issue. The 1st year I owned it, it was in the shop 21 times. In my state if your new vehicle has the same issue 2 times, it's considered a 🍋! Long story short. After another 6 months I was refunded 40k and kept the truck. I had paid cash for it btw. Hopefully you guys will get this taken care of. Hiring an attorney who specialized in 🍋 laws was well worth it.
I suggest finding an independent garage. A lot of them have experienced mechanics that will research the problem until they find a fix. I realize this will cost money but it may get your issue resolved so you can put your truck on the market. In the meantime hang in there. I wish there would be an easy fix.
I had a problem with a ford ranger on a recall back in 2005, took 9 months to resolve. I filed a complaint with ford had a cause number. So I got fed up and filed with the state attorney office. Gave all my info. Within 3 weeks my truck was fixed. I told him I am paying for a truck I can’t use. Never buy a ford again, and my dad worked for ford. Try your state attorney.
Put me in the column of cancel Ford truck. Was looking at a F250 and a HD Siierra Denial. The ford was less cost but after watching your video and a couple others I went with GMC. Couldn't be happier.
@@hathawaywego every brand has problems. My 22 chevy 2500 ac compresser died. It has been 8 months says it's on back order. My buddy's 23 ram blew a motor. Been nightmare since new motor put back in. These new vehicles are junk.
The state that you live in has an attorney general that can take action against this situation. I’ve been there and done that and you will get the situation resolved or the dealership will pay the piper. The ag office WONT back down like Ford hopes you will!
I'll second that. This is a waranteed product that the OEM is refusing to warranty. I had a similar issue with a lease agreement, contacted the State Attorney General and some other office that handle vehicle sales licensing in the State and the problem was resolved quickly.
@@hathawaywego If you haven't noticed, quite a few posters recommend that you try a different dealer. That's good advice. I work for Ford and deal with issues like this every day. Its entirely possible that if you use a different dealer, you will get completely different results. In your last video, I left a post that may give you some ideas on how to proceed.
@@052RC From what we were told by Ford, once this dealer ordered the part we were obligated to have them do the work. The truck is with them now and once the compressor is in it we certainly won't be taking it back to them. thanks for th assist, I'll go search out your other post. ~D
I had a brand new Ford Wndstar (van) that had a starter issue. It was towed into the Ford dealership where I bought it. I was told it was a common problem with this model year, "a bad solenoid". I asked the dealer why they didn't inform the customer of the problem when I bought it. He replied "you may not have bought the vehicle if we had told you". I have not purchased a Ford vehicle since then. In your case case, Ford should take your truck in and work on it until properly repaired. In the meantime, they should give you a nice 350 loaner truck to drive at their expense.
If you have the v6 pentastar in your jeep, check the oil often, if it drops, check the valley where the oil cooler lives...they have a tendency to blow out.
The lemon law weight is in a lot of state lemon laws. The statute hasn't been updated to reflect GVWR of 1 ton trucks going up 3000 pounds. 10,000 pounds is an old threshold for commercial vehicles
I see that others have commented on the Magnuson-Moss Act. It would apply here as your truck is a consumer purchase, and over $50,0000 is in controversy. This case would be filed in a federal court. FORD would have to pay your attorney fees in the likely event that you won. I do not think that the act allows these trucks to be sold as new (but would allows sales as-is) with obsolescent parts. I understand that the dealer made no such disclosures prior to your purchase. You might be able to check with attorney Steve Lehto in MI, who specializes in Lemon Law cases against the big three. Lemon law would not apply, but he's also an authority on the Magnuson-Moss Act. He might well know of a local attorney, but also might be able to represent you in federal court even though you're in AZ. A letter from him might suffice to get things moving. He knows the attorneys that work at the big three by name.
I don't think I would be as forgiving if I had bought a new truck with a problem they could not or would not find a fix for. By the way my 99 ford f150 blows ice cold and never been touched! So much for all this new technology!
As a long time tech who deals with these types of issues daily I’d like to get the info on it and be able to wrap my head around why it can’t be fixed? I have found zero things I couldn’t fix or at the very least have idea of where to go with it. A amp meter and a test light should be easy to find it.
I bought a new 2019 F150. While it was under warranty, I had a clicking sound coming from the 4wd vacuum engagement system in the hub. I took it to the dealer and even wrote up what was wrong so they could fix it. They said they couldn't duplicate the problem. I bought the part at another dealer and installed it. Fixed the issue just like I thought. If I were you guys, I would find the factory pdf manual on line and buy it. Read up on the AC and you will know more than the dullards at the dealership and then I would fix it myself. Then take the problem part to the service manager and make a statement.
I would take it to a different dealership. This dealer is incompetent, my 24 F350 sat on the lot with the same problem you are having for two months waiting on parts. They replaced the compressor and it fixed the issue. Ford updated the compressor and so far the issue is resolved, I am heading to Oregon and will be putting around 2K miles on the truck starting this Saturday, I will let you know how it goes. The dealership that knows this issue and has taken care of mine and at least 5 others that I know of is Larry H Miller out of Draper UT.
@@robinfowler9477 The dealership that repaired mine didn't sell me the truck. The issue that took so long was the new revised compressors were on back order. I called all over three different states and got the same story.
I am no way advocating for this, but I remember back in the 70s a guy purchased a brand new ford car, can’t recall if it was thunderbird or maybe it was a Lincoln but he had so much trouble with it and was just getting a run around by the dealer and Ford, he got so fed up with the lies, and denial of service, he drove to the ford headquarters, pulled up to the front of the building and set it on fire, ford ultimately replaced it with another brand new car, this situation is just horrible and hopefully you can resolve this situation best of luck
Part of the problem with modern vehicle HVAC systems is that they have been made too complex. In the old days the duct flaps were operated by mechanical levers that would work for years. And all the parts were made of steel that rodents couldn’t eat. Didn’t have flap doors made from plastic that can break. Sure these new devices adjust the temperature automatically but it wasn’t that hard to adjust temperature manually. A computer to operate the AC and heat is crazy.
I went the same route with a full size explorer several years ago. After several other problems the transmission would not go into park,I said it was the cable Ford said transmission had to come out. After 1 month they decided it needed a cable on and on and on
Thank you so much for talking about this a big "YES" on people stopping from buying a Ford PU. 😊❤ I did that before see your video. I am a proud owner of a 2021 Chevy Silverado Duramax/ Allison 3500 4 door/ 8 foot bed. I was a lifetime FORD truck buyer. They LOST all my service records ( computer) on my 2000 F-250, I asked if they would then put there service stamp in my owners manual ( the service manager refused) when my wifes ( Flex) engine FAN stopped working on busy freeway. Once she stopped, the engine would not start. She called the dealer we bought it from. They would NOT send us a Tow. We did get tow right away from another dealership 😊 the main reason I switched to chevy PU was both Dodge and chey dealerships TEST drove my 2000 ford. There was no pressure to buy a PU. The FIRST thing both chey and Dodge did was test drive. I wanted the ( Cummins) From Dodge or the Duramax from Chevy. The Ford dealership refused to test drive my Ford PU. And told me I would have to put money down before they would even talk to me. I think I for ( one) beat you too NEVER ever buying a Ford again. People have told me I should have talked to the sales manager. After going through the same issue you have been though with are Ford ( Flex), I am like you about Ford Trucks. Really people have to talk to a sales manager about his personal doing a test drive. On there own product line. My 2000 had only 63 thousand miles on it. Very clean truck for that age. I hear you and hope your video help with people making a very expensive purchase of a PU.
Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics specializes in ordeals such as this. He does youtube vids to document and entertain while finding and repairing. Also South Main Street Auto does the same also on youtube. Both are east coast though but have had enormous success at diagnosing and repairing such issue. Unfortunately it seems you are going to have to eat the expense for repair. I personally never take either of my Fords to a Ford dealer for repair or even maintenance. I don't trust dealers. If I have issues I go to a private shop. I've built long-lasting relationships with local shops who do my work. People you can trust to do it right. The Pine Hollow guy always says, the new vehicles being made are rolling computers and that its only going to get worse. He does thorough diagnostics and prides himself when, as he says, 'no parts required'.
Pine Hollow is a master at diagnosing electrical computer module issues. He goes hands on not just following ford recommendations. Ford techs can only allowed to follow their tech diagnoses steps and wont go hands on scoping and testing like Pine Hollow will do. If he is not in your area he probably knows of a good tech in your area.
You need to find a good local independent repair shop, I deal with these problems daily,,yes we do still diagnosis the problem and not just scan for a code and pull the parts cannon and hope for the best,I used to work at the steelerships and got fed up with the warranty claim flat rate, that no one can make a living doing ,warranty will pay .5 for a 5 hour diagnosis so no one wants to do it,,it's all about money and other tech don't want too fool with a problem they know they ain't going to get paid for ,,,too many other people touching it is a real thing,,your steelership needs too step up and pay a tech actual time and fix,,or at least find out what's wrong with it
This sounded like an electrical..more than likely a computer issue. Why wasn't the existing computer reprogrammed at the dealer ? Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics has a great understanding of electrical and computer diagnostics. ? Instead of driving to Ivan in PA...consider maybe paying for Ivan to travel to your location in Arizona - maybe contact him.

I could say a lot about ford but I won’t, I could say a lot about Chevy but I won’t, I could say a lot about dodge but I won’t. I will say something about the dummies from the front door of the service center to the back door though, new truck I had took to the dealership to have something done and they told me it couldn’t be done to my truck, I knew better and bought the items and did it myself. I went back to dealership and showed the mechanic and service manger they were wrong. Then they asked me how did I do it. I just wanted a factory option programmed and the factory parts installed. From that day on I’m the only one that fixes my truck and I’m 70 years old.
They shouldn't have to find a way around this with a brand new truck but there are ways. Would have to probably swap the AC pressure sensors for the older pressure switches and use a standalone relay to control the clutch directly but since R1234YF and R134a run basically the same pressure curves it would be doable. People solving their own problems are an art of the past!
@@IndependenceIron You don't work on cars, do you? There's over 50 separate modules in that truck, and if 1 small thing is out of spec, it will never work. These are some of the most complicated vehicles ever made. Just the HVAC system in a new F350 is more complicated than your entire vehicle. You just can't do what you're suggesting on modern cars. Even if you swapped the parts out, which you can't, the system wouldn't even turn on. It would be much cheaper to sell the vehicle at a loss, and buy a new one. You're better off getting a base model SD. The ones they sell to government and fleets. They don't have all the crazy options like on the standard versions. A current base model is about the same as a fully loaded vehicle from 20-25 years ago. The problem here is with the dealership, not the truck. Not all dealers are the same and a lot goes on behind the scenes that most people are aware. If I had that truck, it would have already been fixed. Is all this fair to the customer? Absolutely not. But that's what we have to work with.
@@052RC I actually do work on just about anything including cars and heavy equipment, and i have in past jobs and my current one engineer control systems for OEM equipment. Engineers themselves get all tied up in the complexity of their designs too but in the end you can make it work with simple tech. Won't be as fancy as it was designed, but it will get u thru. The ECU only knows what its sensors are feeding it. And i would bet its still trying to send power to that bad relay to engage the AC clutch. So a new AC compressor and clutch and a standalone relay would probably work as a temp fix. And if it isn't thats when you would have to swap the sensors(which are probably J2716 SENT sensors) for old pressure switches(AC fittings are mostly universal but could adapt if not), and use that switch to control a relay that would supply the AC clutch with 12 volts at the right time to kick on and off. And if the ECU grips about it, wire in another relay to take control of the cabin blower and anything else you need. Just cause its complicated with 50 different modules, doesn't mean you can't bypass that when it fails. Thats what we will have to do to keep these turds on the roads 20 years from now!
I'm sorry to hear your problems with your F350. We were headed to Yellowstone in our used 2023 F350 XLT in mid July when our air went ouy temps in the upper 90's, took it in to a Ford Dealr on Cody wy. they said it needs a A/C compressor clutch, parts are on back order until mid August. So we finnished our trip to Yellowstone. after we got home in Wis. I took it in to Ford they checked it same findings, ordered a new clutch and compressor, which ever comes in first they will replace. clutch took about 30 days, replaced it now works fine, replacement part is the same part number as the old one, I will see how long this one lasts.
So my dad and stepmom have a Ford sitting at the dealer waiting on a computer for three weeks now and they have no clue when it’s gonna come in I have a Chevy 2500 Duramax and I love it. Good luck to both of you. Sorry to hear your frustration.
I think Fork knows what's wrong. They know the compressor won't fix it. They don't have a fix, so they make you run in circles. It would be a lot simpler if Ford would just tell you what the problem is and admit they can't fix it.
I get the frustration, but canceling plans , selling your tailer cuz you don't trust the truck because to tow it and crying seems to be a bit of an over reaction. At that point take it to another mechanic pay to have it diag./fixed and then go after ford for the cost. Of such a small problem is going to cause you so much turmoil then you should just get out of a diesel all together. Wait till you have some of the diesel related issues....... also anymore, doesn't matter what brand you get these days, all the American brands have the same crap issues because they cheap out. -retired mechanic 40yrs.
That's right Brady. Amazing diesel technology being wasted and destroyed by laws that don't make sense. China and majority of the planet inhabitants roll coal 24/7 and pollute everything in sight. But US administration (guess whose?) ordered to crack down on its own people for claimed harm to the environment. What about the rest of the world? Not a thing directed at other nations. Spewing diesel into the oceans fishing for everything on the planet. Punish the truck drivers who bring us food and goods. Government says Diesel is evil, right? Well, let's see about that. It may produce smoke when abused, yet it breaks down in the atmosphere faster than gasoline exhaust! Diesel has more energy per volume, more power. You need LESS of it to do the job and it is CHEAPER to make. It is even SAFER than gasoline: does not catch fire as easily in a crash, I could go on. But then I am biased. You see, I like cheap, and safe, and better for the job without BS systems that don't work. Diesel is not the enemy. The governmental interference is wrong on many levels. Guess when this attack on diesels got ramped up?
I'm genuinely sorry that you are going through that. I can sympathize. Not only have we been through the lemon law on one of our vehicles, we also had an issue in which Edina Title signed off on a house that we bought with the property line going through the dead center of the house. Fortunately everything worked out in the end. Thank God for title insurance. Edina Title got off scot free and got away with taking no responsibility for their mistake. I feel your pain brother and sister. I hope everything works out.
I just came across this, and hits very close to home. Was so close to buying an f-250 for my company 6 weeks ago for my business and not because of these videos but for other reasons I went with the 2024 Ram 2500 and now am so glad I did. I understand how many people are probably giving you the "cry me a river!" , "First world issues" comments. But when you work extremely hard for your money and make one of the biggest purchases of your life you expect that transaction to be a smooth "happy" experience and unfortunately a lot of companies just don't care anymore. It's really unfortunate and I hope your Issue is resolved. I recommend not giving up though, Get that issue resolved, sell it and go get a Ram 3500, they are desperate to sell them right now, Dodge has there own issues but I have been very pleased with the service department so far. Good luck!
You need to ask the BBB Autoline in your state for Ford's full BBB Autoline Program Summary, including for "Warranty Claims NOT Covered Under your state's Lemon Law". You can go to the BBB Autoline website and pull up the program summary yourself. It's a little difficult to find but it's there. Ford's agreement with the BBB Autoline likely will have a provision where Ford has also agreed to arbitrate "warranty claims for vehicles NOT covered under the lemon law". Your F350 may very-well fall under this provision. You need to read the full program summary for details. While your F350 may not fall under your state's lemon law because of it being over 10,000 pounds, it is very possible that Ford may still be required to arbitrate your warranty claim with the BBB Autoline if the BBB Autoline program summary for Ford vehicles with "Warranty Claims NOT Falling Under the Lemon Law" has no 10,000-pound weight provision as your state's lemon law has. The outcome through arbitration for "Warranty Claims Not Falling Under the Lemon Law" may very well be the same or very similar to lemon law claims (buyback, etc...). Be aware of your timeframes, mileage limitations, and filing deadlines with your state's BBB Autoline. If the Ford/BBB Autoline program summary for "Warranty Claims not Covered by the Lemon Law" states that the case must be filed with the BBB Autoline within a certain timeframe, mileage amount, etc..., then make sure you follow it to the letter. If you are not comfortable reviewing the BBB program summary yourself (It's not too long or difficulty to read) or are not sure what it means or what to do, you should contact an attorney in your state knowledgeable about the lemon law and arbitration with the BBB Autoline.
You mentioned the over 10,000 pounds. Is that going by the GVWR? Because dry weight is actually about 9400. 5k on the steers & 9k on the drives for the GVWR. Just wondering.

I could have told you at the beginning of this video that it's a computer , electronic , wiring , sensor issue. For air conditioning all you need is a charged working compressor that you can turn on and off.

Oh my gosh... I've talked about Ford on my channel as well. IMO, they are one of a number of highly discombobulated, upside down brands that can't keep their stuff together. Thank you so much for sharing your story with others!! 🙌
I have the almost the same thing happening. I have a 2022 F-250 with 15,000 miles and my 360 camera system does not work. The module that they need is on Back Order with No ETA. Have a case number with Ford. All she can tell me is that the part is truly on back order. Ford has really let me down with this truck. Hope and Pray you guys will get your truck fixed. My friend has a 2024 F-250 and his AC went out at 650 miles Finally got the ac fixed. It was the compressor. 🙏🇺🇸👍
You want to know if it is getting power, unplug the whip from the compressor carefully not to break the tabs off the clip on the plug. After you get this un plugged look at how it plugs in and the pins on the plug you took off, you will see two wire usually for the power and ground, if you can bridge each pin with a connection with pushpins in the connector and alligator clips on the compressor plugin that are hooked across with a wire for each. Now take a multimeter and hook each leed of the multimeter to each of the leeds of the compressor then drive it and see if there is voltage in the compressor clutch. 3rd party shop might surprise you if you find someone that used to work at a dealership and has went on their own to test it.
Guess you’re right depending on where one lives. Here in the mid west cold rainy season not so much. I had a vehicle without a/c and needed towels to dry inside of window.
When you hand the dealership owner and service managers with a subpoena to appear in court, they changed their tune and they get things done ,,,, most of the time .
Sorry you guys are having to deal with that mess. I would honestly wait for the first cold day and trade that pos in! I have a 2023 f350 with the 7.3 and I have had 3 instances on a hot day here in Texas where my A/C has acted like it took a while to start cooling on full blast almost like something electronic wasnt telling the compressor to kick on but luckily it always has amd other than those 3 times its been ice cold but after watching your guys videos I am worried about mine in the future. I have had a couple other things about it that are making me not like or trust this thing and most of all after seeing the way ford has treated you guys I am having second hand anger that makes me want to get rid of mine and not do business with them anymore and I have had numerous Fords over the years but their quality has definitely gone down hill. Hope you guys find a solution one way or the other.
Sounds familiar to me- I had a 2017 F350 ultimate king ranch- within 48 hrs of purchase, I started having problems with the keyless entry system- wouldn’t let me in the truck. When it finally let me in, it would not start- this went on for 18 months along with a variety of other problems- at 27,000 miles the truck needed 3 of the 6 tires replaced and the engine had an oil leak witch meant removing the engine. Took them to lemon law, they refused due to Oklahoma law, which is the same as yours. Finally got tired of the hassle and lost my butt trading it in.
The air conditioning on my 2010 Ford Fusion stopped working. They replaced the compressor at a third-party shop. It worked great for about a month and then it started to not work so well. It turned out the fan assembly in the engine bay, including the computer attached to it went bad so it was replaced and everything works OK. However, this Ford is from a different era. The era when Fords were pretty good. My car has 276,000 miles on it and it works great. I also own a 2024 Silverado 2500 HD Duramax. Although I don’t have many miles on it because I just bought it, so far so good. Hopefully Ford will take care of your issue. Although it sounds like they haven’t done much of anything nor do they care. Good luck.
I had problems with our 2021 F150; AC went out on our way back to Texas from Florida. We had to drive over 700 miles with no AC in August to get beck to Texas. Truck had under 5k miles at the time and the Ford Dealership we purchased it from kept coming with excuses while it sat in shop for a few weeks. I finally got Ford involved and then two weeks later truck was repaired. Approximately about 6k miles later, AC went out again. It took another 2+ weeks to get it repaired. I ended up trading that truck in.
Sorry about your problems. We were looking at a F350. Going to GMC. More bad news, your defroster needs the compressor to work. good luck and best wishes
No they dont. Ive bought first year hondas 2010 and toyota a 2000 tundra. I have both still and they run like new. No way a ford or gm would still be running like new with no problems. 25 years old 280 and 370k miles
I just read that comment to Cindy and it made her so happy. You made her day! ❤️ And you likely just saved yourself from making a huge mistake. Thank you for letting us know! ~D
I bought a used vehicle from Ford and two months later the battery kept going dead and had to be jumped. After checking everything out they said it was a wiring issue and they couldn't find the problem. I asked since it can not be fixed will you bye it back since it was financed through Ford. Five minutes later it was theirs and I was off the hook...
I randomly just came across your video. I had a 2019 F-150 that Ford refused to fix my AC problem as well months after buying. I'm not entirely sure what all is going on with your AC, aside from it not working, but mine wasn't blowing any cold air. It still blew air. I got rid of it shortly after fighting with the dealership because I lost faith in the truck and the brand. Note: I even had extended bumper to bumper warranty. However, I had read somewhere that there is a sensor on the outside of the passenger mirror that drives the temperature for the AC unit. I'm not sure if F350 is similar or if that has already been checked. But it might be worth checking out?
1. Getting the dealership owner involved is absolutely effective much of the time. The owner can tell them to just fix the thing no matter what it takes and Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah they’re going to remove the AC module from a unit sitting on the lot and put it in your truck. That’s if it’s a good owner. Who’s at least a little bit smart. If not, online reviews, they hate bad Google reviews. Put a review on the BBB website. Lastly, contact your state’s Attorney General’s office online. File a complaint. The Attorney General is there to protect you from anyone trying to deny you your basic rights under the warranty you received when you purchased that truck.
That will never happen. The dealer does not own those vehicles on his lot. Ford Motor Company Credit does and the dealer pays interest on them every month. The dealer would never be allowed to remove parts from a vehicle owned by someone else.
I just had my transfer case replaced at 30,000 KM, it took 4 dealers to find the problem, my original selling dealer that is also a brand new dealership with all the new technology also was the dealer to find the problem, the other 3 dealers were useless and just put NPF on the work order
Justice is coming to Ford Motor Company. They are losing sales. They may be going out of business. So there is your comfort in this this. I quit being a Ford fan almost a decade ago. I still drive Ford trucks, but they are old models when they built them properly. May God give you all comfort.
The older Ford's were all great. I don't understand what happened?? I left Ford 5 years ago. I had transmission issues. I walked away and bought a GM. No more problems. 5 years and counting.
they aren't going no damn where. with the 2008/9 bailout, the cats already out of the bag and they know the government will bail them out.....just like last time....rinse and repeat
Our 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid was in the shop for three months early in 2021 waiting on a BCM computer. At least we were provided a loaner. Then later in ‘21, after several other problems. we had to get a Ford rep to get a problem corrected. We got on a first name basis and on one particular day, I turned around and went back to the dealership calling the rep each time to force their hand to get the problem repaired. We finally got a free extended warranty out of it, but on a hybrid it is only good to 75k and we were at 60k then. I have always been and will continue to be a Ford person. Every auto manufacturer is dealing with this kind if mess due to poor workanship. But be advised, as much as you love Jeep, they are one of the most despised vehicles on the road by mechanics due to unreliability.
Wish you guys the best of luck. My issues with my F350 Dually was the transmission and transfer case. After the 3rd one I bit the bullet and got rid of it at a big loss.
They are so complicated and unreliable now, the dealers can’t or won’t even try to fix them. We’re stuck buying Toyotas and Hondas if we want to be able to use our cars. Sad. I was a loyal Ford customer for over 50 years
After years of watching car repair shops videos on UA-cam the dealership is the last place to take a vehicle to be fixed. 99% of them are about the dealership miss diagnosed a simple issue and wanted thousands to fix. Ends up being bad wiring or something else unrelated and costs $200 instead
Hello, and I hope you 👀 SEE this message. 1st. Call a local air conditioning repair shop. Ask them how much $$ to adjust the clutch on your truck. Considering you're telling them what to do, it shouldn't be that much. Considering you had a code for the clutch, I'm assuming once the car heats up. The clutch is no longer holding in, therefore it's cutting out losing air conditioning. I think you spent more in gas driving to the dealership than the repair will cost once again. I hope you see this message. Good luck.

Hi, your video popped up in my feed... I don't know why because I have never and probably will never in my life purchase a Ford nor an American made vehicle unless the "Big Three" actually start building reliable vehicles again. I did at one time contemplate buying the new Ford Bronco because I just love the way it looks, but that *"Common Sence Angel"* that sits on my right shoulder convinced me not to. Thank you for your video, because it is confirmation that I made the right decision. That being said, I would like to inform the two of you that I proudly own and drive daily a 2002 Toyota 4Runner with 320,000 miles that has *COLD BLOWING AC.* 💨💨💨 ...P.S. I hope the two of you can eventually get this problem solved. 🤞✌
Not a Ford Truck, but my 2020 Ford Mustang GT PP1 was doing well when I pulled to a stop. All of a sudden, my car began to shake die to a rough idle and suddenly, no AC. I had Ford look into it. Ultimately, after several tries of spark plugs and a PCM it was finally repaired. It was in the shop for over 3 weeks. Had roughly 1000 miles on her. If I would have had to pay for the parts and labor it probably would have cost me $3000+. I ended up selling it. Consumer Reports indicated that the 2020 Ford Mustang had a LOT of electrical issues.
there is something you can try , my son had this problem on his f250 , you can do it your self takes a few minutes . on the front of the compressor there is a nut , remove it and pull off the clutch plate, it slides out easy, look to see if there are any washers in the hole my guess there is, remove 1 put the plate back on and tighten the nut. the washer made the gap to large for the clutch on the compressor to keep it fully engaged . note do this when the engine has cooled down as

Sadly this is not just a Ford issue, every manufacturer is having issues they cannot resolve with their product. From the RV industry through the automotive sector. Most people impacted don’t have a platform to complain, but it does not matter if you bought a Ford, Chevy, Dodge or any other manufacturer there are unresolved issues with all of them. Even in the big truck industry, truckers are at the mercy of dealers who can’t fix the problems. Sorry it has happened to you both. Blessings.

@hathawaywego i have all the fancy computers that connect under the dash and they only really point you in a direction. Without the will or knowledge to do the leg work , it's just a guess. Makes me sick. God bless yall, this to shall pass
So I enjoy your guys content overall and have been following this saga. My only bit of constructive criticism is that I could do without the weird editing slow motion or weird voice stuff. Your story is interesting and would be less distracting if you just told it normally without all that. Just my opinion.
Что это значит?
@@МихаилЩербаков-й9щ It means it's a lemon. Over here they call faulty vehicles lemons.

Every vehicle is a potential lemon when there are no techs able or willing to take the time to figure it out.

Amen. Never buy a new car.

Definitely pursue this line. Get an independent shop to put an oscilloscope on the power and control lines to the compressor. Look for the relay chatter on the power and a proper control signal.

Thanks to the lawyers that govern us, buying that now is long gone.
@Anthonygonzalez7488 -You probably had the 4-cylinder engine too ... Correct? Auto trans or a manual ?

Have you guys considered going to the local news media to try to find a solution? This whole deal is insufferable. Good luck to you.
I thought the very same thing. I think they will get quicker results by doing that.
They only help a chosen portion of society that fits an agenda. This couple does not fit.

DON'T SELL THAT TRUCK! All the computer systems they have now nobody can fix them.

I would never buy a newer vehicle unless its made in japan US made cars are garbage. Thats a fact
The dealership that knows this issue and has taken care of mine and at least 5 others that I know of is Larry H Miller out of Draper UT.
and if the dealer did not sell the truck, they ae not likely to give a care about your warranty claim

Toyota and honda dont have all these ridiculous and stupid problems. Im amazed anyone buys a ford anymore
I went the same route with a full size explorer several years ago. After several other problems the transmission would not go into park,I said it was the cable Ford said transmission had to come out. After 1 month they decided it needed a cable on and on and on

Also South Main Street Auto does the same also on youtube. Both are east coast though but have had enormous success at diagnosing and repairing such issue. They shouldn't have to find a way around this with a brand new truck but there are ways. Would have to probably swap the AC pressure sensors for the older pressure switches and use a standalone relay to control the clutch directly but since R1234YF and R134a run basically the same pressure curves it would be doable.

So sorry to hear about the Ford issues! Crazy to be waiting indefinitely. Thank you for the support, we greatly appreciate it! ~D
I think Fork knows what's wrong. They know the compressor won't fix it. They don't have a fix, so they make you run in circles. It would be a lot simpler if Ford would just tell you what the problem is and admit they can't fix it.
You are 100% correct!
~D
@@hathawaywego The problem is it is a Ford
I get the frustration, but canceling plans , selling your tailer cuz you don't trust the truck because to tow it and crying seems to be a bit of an over reaction. At that point take it to another mechanic pay to have it diag./fixed and then go after ford for the cost. Of such a small problem is going to cause you so much turmoil then you should just get out of a diesel all together. Wait till you have some of the diesel related issues....... also anymore, doesn't matter what brand you get these days, all the American brands have the same crap issues because they cheap out. -retired mechanic 40yrs.
I agree they should go to an independent mechanic and see what they say.
What does the tesla cyber truck weigh? Is the whole EV mandate a way for them to go around the lemon laws?
And they wonder why Toyota sells so well.
Good luck!
So sorry for all your troubles... Your positive attitude is amazing

They are now making clutchless compressors and it is being controlled by PWM signal, just like those failure prone alternators.

Hope you get your issue fixed! We finally got ours back with A/C working.
Winters coming and won’t have defrost, works through a/c. I would be ticked off too!
Aw crap! We didn’t think about that! 🤦🏼♀️ Thanks for the heads up, we appreciate you for following along! ~C
You'll have defroster, it just won't work 100% correctly. Which in Arizona or any drier climate, you shouldn't have a problem.
Guess you’re right depending on where one lives. Here in the mid west cold rainy season not so much. I had a vehicle without a/c and needed towels to dry inside of window.
Yep, windows will fog up !
When you hand the dealership owner and service managers with a subpoena to appear in court, they changed their tune and they get things done ,,,, most of the time .
False, that is the exact opposite way to get anything handled and overall terrible advice.
I think I would of sold the truck instead of giving Ford the business. The only thing I like about Ford is they didn't take the Obama bailout.
Sorry about your problems. We were looking at a F350. Going to GMC. More bad news, your defroster needs the compressor to work. good luck and best wishes
Gmc is just as bad look up video on a tow truck driver he says he picks up gmc the most
All the newer vehicles are having problems. An engineers rule of thumb is to "NEVER buy the first model year." Always problematic!
Thats like trading a bucket of poop for a bucket of vomit. Good luck lol
No they dont. Ive bought first year hondas 2010 and toyota a 2000 tundra. I have both still and they run like new. No way a ford or gm would still be running like new with no problems. 25 years old 280 and 370k miles
I've got a 24 F350 on order. It's in production this week 9-23 .I heard of the AC issue and they confirmed it. I'll just pass when it comes in.

If your selling dealer is willing to help drive it to them ,you drove there to buy it
Seling dealer is your best bet
They aren't going out of business lol.
they aren't going no damn where. with the 2008/9 bailout, the cats already out of the bag and they know the government will bail them out.....just like last time....rinse and repeat
@@prs44Ford is the only one out of the three that didn't take a government bailout. They used the blue oval as collateral during that time.
Simple request would have solved everything. May I see the scope trace of the AC compressor signal.
If I need a pulling truck I'll buy a $10,000 used 7.3 with about 150,000 miles on it in good condition. Then upgrade the turbo and tune.
