I used to follow for your W202 repair videos, and now I follow for your P2 repair videos! Talk about luck.

Of course you have a video that pointed me right to my problem. Thought it was stabilizer bar links(which needed replacing too). Here in Miami, the heat destroys ALL bushings. Thanks brother...you the man!

A good way to tell if they are bad is to jack up just one side of the car. When only one side of the front suspension is unloaded, the bar will flex and put pressure on the bushings. If they are worn, they will deform quite a bit. Mine were actually completely separated from the bar. I ended up replacing them with some universal ones from moog.

Hi on my 2002 Volvo V70 I installed an XC90 Diesel sway bar to my 2002 Volvo V70 and mine had a crash shield around the steering rack coupling apparently a left hand drive doesn't have the crash shield around the steering rack coupling but take care

I changed my endlinks hoping that was the cause of the clunking when I go over speed bumps or my driveway one wheel at a time. One endlink was torn and the other was just loose. But after putting fresh links, the clunking is more prominent and possibly exacerbated the worn bushings on the sway bar. Maybe too much stress on the 15 year old rubber bushings. Basically what I thought would be a cheap DIY fix would now cost me more.

Thank you, I replaced my endlinks, and the clunking sound was more pronounced. I'm tempted to put the old endlinks back in.

@@loden888 Yes put your old ones in if they are not torn. I put Meyle HD and those were too stiff for the old bushings in the sway bar. The old rubber now has more cracks and protrudes more out of the sides. I got some cheap Delphi links from Rock Auto and they seem to be more forgiving. But I'm still debating changing the sway bar along with the subframe bushings since everything has been refreshed except those.

I've done struts and all associated parts, ball joints, end links, wheel bearings, tie rods and cv axles and couldn't figure out that damn noise but I think you might've given me my answer

Thank you for another great video. I need to replace the bushings on my '05 XC90 2.5. I'd rather not have to drop the subframe. Do you know how I can split the old casings so I can just swap with new bushings?

Do you reckon it's the same if I get a clunking noise from the rear? Installed new coilovers front and rear, no noise for a while. Drove the car perhaps a bit sharper than I usually do in the corners and all of a sudden I get a loud clunk noise over every bump. Checked endlinks and they seem fine, a bit worn but not making any noise.

Sudden loud clunk means broken component to me. Look closely

This is a front sway bar? you mentioned rear subframe and evap, so I'm confused. It's cold here in NY (35 degrees) and I've got this noise, which got worse after installing new endlinks.

He mentioned the rear OF the subframe, not the rear subframe.

Is it dangerous to drive with worn bushes? Mine is clunking on every small bump, I was looking forward to polybush them but if you say it's not worth it... not mentioning the nightmare it is to access and remove old bushes.

In my opinion it does not affect safety. It may affect slightly the handling but perhaps not by much,
