  • This has been an advisory on the MOT the whole time I've owned the car and I finally got round to tackling it.
    According to viewer: Andrew Baird the bushes for Ford Mondeo fit, part number FSK6832K. I have not confirmed this myself though.

    I did both sides yesterday and it whent like a dream , no problems in my driveway on this one job. I ordered mine from autodoc, it`s a inside diameter of 21 mm. What I did was to take of the hole swaybar, took inside my garage and used the wice to press the two pieces together so they stayed there. fitted the swaybar on the car and used the jack to press it to the car. To do this job on the car is a pain in the but. I`t much esyer to take it all of and do it outside the car.

    It was indeed a pain job on mine. But mine was even more pain. Not sure why your old rubber is not vulcanised to the bar - i just couldn’t slide the old one off the way like u did. I had to remove the bracket and cut /burn/ rip chunk by chunk the old rubber (s60 d5 2002). Then to compress the new bushing into the bracket was quite had - I used the same method as u did where i was jacking up the bracket and then trying to align everything.

      Possibly because mine had been covered with silicone previously in order to pass the MOTs without changing them (previous owners, not me). Well done for persisting and getting the job done, refitting them was not easy, the videos don’t show the full story.

    Ford Mondeo ones are £6 each from the factors and are a perfect fit .
    I used the duratec diesel rear bar ones .
    Also they have a slice in them so you can fit them as per this video .

      Hi Andrew, thanks, that’s great advice. If you can get a part number I’ll gladly add it to the description with credit.

      FSK6832K anti roll bar kit (2 bushes) ford g2753 sorry but that's all I have , bought from pentland components in Edinburgh. I would send a picture but can't see how to add one here .
      You get 2 bushes in the bag for about £12
      They make really no difference in every day driving but can make a wee rattle if very loose , also a favourite of over zealous MOT men out to fail a car ,

    This really works, how you need to be patient with it, especially the passenger side, but it does come away, and WD-40 helps them come apart.

    Wow, great video showing how to "fit" the wrong size aftermarket bushing into an OEM bushing clamp that it wasn't designed to fit! Measure twice, order once!

      It’s alright saying that but it doesn’t matter what you do, the people supplying car parts get it wrong all the time, even if you give them the full details of the car. It’s not exactly a big deal and as I think I even mention, you can’t buy the bushes on their own from Volvo, it’s a complete new anti roll bar.

    My garage helpt me fixing this, real difficult job to do so.

    What a pain in the butt job that looks to be. Don't fancy tackling that on the drive. Great help if you have a hydraulic lift. Thanks for posting nice to know what's in store if and when I do mine.

      I would’ve struggled if I weren’t in a garage for this job. Although, if the bushes had been the right size it wouldn’t have been so hard to compress them.

    Hello, please could you provide me which part you used for replacement? Thank you!

    • @IAMASPANNER

      Hi Tibor, just check whether or not your car has a 19mm or 21mm anti roll bar then search online, I got mine from eBay. Also, if you check the other comments on this video there’s a Ford Mondeo part that may fit. Part number also in the description now.

    How does that change the feel of driving? Is it more agile now?

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  2 роки тому +1

      I can’t notice a difference, it isn’t exactly the sort of car to drive hard.

  • @aboud3553

    Can you change the front of them to the same car?

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  Рік тому +1

      I don’t know if you asking me to do a video changing the front or whether the rears are compatible with the front. I will be changing the fronts on mine soon and will upload a video. The rears are not compatible with the front as the roll bars are different sizes, if there happens to be a model with same size anti roll bars front and back then maybe they would be the same.

    Good video. I did the exact same a few years back on a Volvo S60. Real pain in the ars job.

  •  9 місяців тому

    Dude please take this video out... That's not the right way to replace the bushings, cutting the new bushings will weaken them they have to be feed thru the bar.
    This is bad and dangerous!

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  9 місяців тому +3

      It depends on the design whether they will fit over the end of the bar. Some bushes come already cut.

    • @ProUkkeli72
      @ProUkkeli72 5 місяців тому +1

      The cut doesn’t affect the bush that much.
