Thank you for reacting to the Smithereens! A criminally underrated band, they came around nationally just before the rise of Nirvana and grunge. They sort of got pushed to the side because of that although they are a band with a great catalog replete with great hooks and excellent lyrics. They are worth a trip down the rabbit hole
Got to see The Smithereens live, and for free, at my hometown's annual orgy of music called MusikFest. A ten day overload of music, food and beer all over the downtown area. The Smithereens played a great show, even though the lead singer had recently been involved in a bike accident. As he said, That's a Schwinn, not a Harley". "A Girl Like You" was their biggest hit, and went over very well at the show. A fun band live, tons of energy.
I love the Smithereens, they had some great rock songs with a bit of pop and punk at times, they really could play. I saw them 3 times lives, they were magnificent and lead guitarist, Jim Babjak would walk into the crowd, blazing away in a 5 minute solo, just plain great shows, no nonsense, straight ahead, awesome Rock. Do Blood and Roses next for one of their signature songs. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥
I'm a 62 yr old partiality retired mechanic,,I've scrolled through your feed , don't see a lot of great stuff. Led Zepplin, "Cashmere" Aerosmith " Back in the saddle" soooo much great musicians in 70's and 80's. Yes, Marshall Tucker Band, Emmerson Lake, and Palmer
Even though compact discs had been around for a few years, I could not afford a CD player until the end of the 80s. The Smithereens 11 was one of the first CDs that I bought. The first CD that i ever bought was Jane Wiedlin Fur. And that is the first CD I've played in ever CD player that I have owned, include cars.
"Blood and Roses" - Smithereens 🩸🌹

Spot On, they should have been bigger, loved them several times live.
Handful of bands that disappeared, Rock and Roll disappeared thanks to Bill Clinton. Google it.
Great band. Try the chunky guitars on "Behind The Wall Of Sleep"...
RIP Pat. Thank You!
Spot On!
"Behind The Wall Of Sleep" -- the girl who played a bass guitar and stood just like Bill Wyman referred to Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads.
bangin' song! ty for the reaction 🎶🎵🎧
Rock in it's simplest primal form is all that's necessary to make a great song... "A Fun Listen"
What!? Nobody listens to smithereens!
“Blood and roses! “
But they have a massive catalogue of a lot of good songs. Thanks for listening to this.
I met this lead singer back in the 1990s. Super nice guy!
Love them. R.I.P. Pat DiNizio.
Just listened to this today driving down the road. Great rockin' song!

Love the Smithereens! Other great tunes are "Behind the Wall Of Sleep ","Blood and Roses ", and "Only a Memory ". Thanks.
The song was to be used in the film Say Anything..., but it was ultimately cut because the producers believed the song revealed too much of the story.
WHAT. A. HOOK. !!!!!

Does He Love You? - Reba McEntire and Linda Davis 1994
Neil Sedaka - The Hungry Years
Nice, Smithereens are a bit obscure. Cool band and sound.
The Whispers - Lady
Singer Pat Di' Nizio still performs as a solo act .
Um, Pat died 7 years ago.
Elton John - Believe
Another favorite! ❤🔥
Do Blood And Roses
Listen to "Jambi" by TOOL
