Hi, great reaction. If you want to see/hear how much New York means to Billy Joel you should listen to his live version of New State of Mind (from the Old Grey Whistle Test) Amazing performance from him and his band. Such a great artist - he gets you in the feels every time 😊 X
@@SaeedReacts. Yeah, he wrote songs about all his wives, and a few ex gfs too. He doesn't perform some of those songs live anymore (I speculate for this reason (because they're about exes)). Christie also did the album art for his last studio album, "River of Dreams" in 1993.
Huge fan of Billy Joel! The video shows a unique look into life in the 80s with the fashion, location, etc. Quite nostalgic for me personally. I love the eclectic catalog of Joel's music. This particular song is a jam to dance to and the lyrics are fire. I recommend "River of Dreams." Has a great gospel sound to it. Of course, I've never heard a bad song by Billy Joel so anything from his catalog is worth a listen imo 😊 Great reaction!
If you haven’t yet, check out his song Just The Way You Are. Classic. It was released in the 1970’s, and it was our first song dance at my wedding in 2011. Absolutely timeless! And so beautiful!
My favorite Billy Joel song. Love the line "I won't hold back anything and I'll walk away a fool or a king." You've gotta commit to it or it won't work.
Billy has always said his songs are personal to him. He didn’t sit down to write a hit song. I think this is why his songs register with so many of us. This song came out shortly after his marriage to Christie Brinkley, who appears with their daughter in the video. This may well have been about their early relationship. Great reaction.
I dont know why but I really loved this video.. It made the song so much better for me. I was feeling it about love being a "Matter of trust".. without trust you have nothing.
Billy's biography listed his place of birth as the Bronx, New York City but he did grow up on Long Island. My favorite song of Billy's is "New York State of Mind". I don't know if you've reacted to it but if not then I hope you will!
I love that I have that on vinyl and playing it on an old 1981 magnetic phono cartridge turntable. It's an homage to it's time. Anyone else spinning this?
A couple of things I enjoy, and can rely on to keep me engaged with your reactions are your active intelligence and your writerly sensibility and ear ,as well as your emotional maturity and commitment to being better. It only has a salutary effect on my own engagement with the world. Cheers, mate, thanks as always, enjoy your days, whatever point in them you find yourself. 🖖😁🎶♥️🍁♥️✨🕊️
Nice reaction. You mention his versatility, I'm sure someone has mentioned before that he also has a classical music album called Fantasies and Delusions. It was fairly successful, top 100 that year probably. I have it and have listened a few times but it's not my cup of tea.
Hi, you presented so many great songwriters on your channel, like Billy Joel, Warren Zevon, Aurora and even Taylor Swift. Have you heard about Vic Chesnutt discovered by Michael Stipe (R.E.M.). He is one of my favorites, saw him three times and he had such a tragic life, but wrote great songs, like "Flirted With You All My Life" , that deals with ... (no i don't spoil here). Great lyrics, for sure.
Puoi farle tutte di Billy joel ... Non ne sbaglia una .... Live poi era formidabile ....vedere Scenes from an Italian Restaurant ( Long Island) Angry Young Man ( long Island) Leave a Tender moment alone live in London ... Ecc ecc ecc ecc ecc ecc
Would love to see some Genesis reactions ❤❤ Live Wembley 1987 Mama. ( First song ) ABACAB. ( Second song ) These would be good to do together. One is heavy lyrically one is heavy musically Domimo. ( third song minute 16:00 ) Home by the Sea. 1:09 ua-cam.com/video/4NSWWFhTrk0/v-deo.htmlsi=-UH8HY-pKJ8cKPyv
Yet another side of Joel…River of Dreams!

Love that his then wife Christy Brinkley and baby are in the video.
Oh, didnt know that. Thanks for letting me know.

I'm a huge fan of Billy Joel's songwriting - and I just luv this song.
Nice reaction, Saeed! 👍
Amazing songwriter! Thanks for watching, Pete!
This is one of my all time favorites from Billy Joel! Love love all his music, but this is a stand out
He's from Long Island NY, the beautiful woman with the child was his wife of the time, Super Model Christy Brinkley.
🎸🎸🎃 .. I knew you would love this video Saeed. There is unity in this kaleidescope of people. Billy Joel is really special. Nice one !!!
Thank you! One of my favorites ❤

Is another amazing one from Billy that never got the playtime it deserved 🎉🎉
I’ve forgotten all about this song, such an upbeat and a fun song!
I love the multi-dimensional nature of his talent and I'm glad you appreciate it as well.
Yep, Saeed, you got it, Long Island! Thanks for another thoroughly enjoyable reaction.
Thanks for letting me know! Great song!
Great song and always loved this video, so fun!!❤❤
Can you imagine being in that crowd!!🔥🔥😂😂
That would have been awesome! 😄
This one and An Innocent Man are 2 of my favorite Billy Joel songs ❤. Thanks
How good does an artist have to be for it to be difficult to narrow it down to my top 10 favorite hits of his? This makes my list.

Been enjoying the songs i have discovered. Looking forward to more. Thanks for watching and the recommendation.

What a great song. That was Ringo Star just before the woman yells "shut up" 😂😂
Must go back! This video was recorded quite a while ago.
Two Beatles members appeared in the video, looking from the street. You may rewatch it to find them, one just before the woman shouted "shut up!"😀
Definitely need to rewatch 😄
I don't think it has been proven to be true. But it does look like them... especially "Ringo"
Actually Paul, Ringo and George. Ringo watching at front window, Paul across the street, and George walking down the street.
Used to have the time hacks written down.
Ringo, 3:48,Paul, 4:58. George Yellow pants 7:38
Love Billy Joel, a BIG fan!!!! Love your channel Saeed!
Incredible artist! Thanks for watching!
I went to a Beach Boys concert when I was in college and Billy Joel was the opening act.
We barely knew who he was at the time but he stole the show.
If you look closely at the people outside.. You will see Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney watching from the street
Must watch again!
Midnight Cowboy!
My favorite Billy Joel song. Love the line "I won't hold back anything and I'll walk away a fool or a king." You've gotta commit to it or it won't work.
Great line!
So true!
Great reaction
Thanks so much!

Thanks for taking the time to share this. He makes it about the work and art, so the result is incredible.

I saw Billy Joel in concert in 1987. Awesome performer!
Awesome!

Thanks for the reaction. Another top gem from a very under rated album
Great song! Thanks for watching.

@ , YAY, THANKS!
Hi Saeed! Billy Joel's then wife (model) Christy Brinkley was the recipient of this song... and she is the lady in the studio with the baby!
Thanks so much for letting me know about that!

He was married to Christie Brinkley at the time. You see her in the video.

I must look that up! Don't think i have seen this one mentioned often. Thanks!
Here's one you might never have heard of. Matt McClure, The Shore. Also, still hoping for Burton Cummings song Heavenly Blue!

Have not neard about him, but will add his name to my list. Thanks.
✌🏽👍🏽
I'll Bet The Person Who Shouted Shut Up Was Super Embarrassed To Find It Was Billy Joel -& His Band He Shouted AT !😂😂😂
Not sure if you’re familiar with the Robert Palmer song Addicted to Love, but Billy said he based this song on the sound style of that song.
I am not, but will add it to my list. Thanks!

Hey Saeed! Personally , I am neutral toward Billy Joel but this one hits. Strong vocals, good recommendation.

That would be a great version !
