This, and the other tips videos you have done, are outstanding! The detail is great and necessary. Bringing in other surfers such as Ethan, Felipe and Mick to show their outstanding technique is so helpful. And displaying what you are doing well, yet what you are still working on demonstrates grace, humility, and resolve that may be the most valuable and commendable part of all. So well done.
Love the lesson. One of my favorite turns is the close out hit. The others I definitely need work on. Thanks for the suggestions. Good luck in Hawaii.🤙
Such and awesome video! The slection of clips, drawings, explanations and overall pace are spot on. Thanks for taking the time to film and edit 🙌 Sharing with my surf mates 👍
Great breakdown of the snap Lakey! it looks like your lower body rotation and leg extension is excellent, however your upper body could be improved. Will you practice keeping your arms up like Ethan and Felipe? I feel that counter rotation you have is because one of your arms goes back behind you for balance which then forces your trunk to over/counter rotate. This could actually lose you fraction of speed coming out of the lip as the over-rotation may prevent from driving down out of the turn by stalling you longer at the lip line. I think you’re amazing surfer and it’s your year to become world champ! all the best on the tour and thanks for sharing you and Tom’s knowledge.
Thanks for the class. Ive always admired your approach in all facets from diet to recovery and so on. You're a true professional and alll this information is priceless to a regular Joe like myself.😅 Good luck on tour babe, God bless bless bless .
These are such great tutorials! They’ve really helped certain problem areas I didn’t know how to fix. Additional Question: On regular snaps and close out snaps, I sometimes end up unintentionally laying back when the snap comes around. Any tips to prevent that?
That’s because your front leg isn’t going into flection and when you throw both your arm up above your board it throws your weight over your board=you won’t fall back
honestly i think video like this is almost useless for someone who tries to learn how to do a snap. it might be good for someone who is already reasonably good and want to get some extra style points. this tutorial sounds like same which i hear over and over again from the 90s "watch this way...do this with your arms...bla bla bla". we stand on the board with our feet, if our weight distribution is wrong, if we lean too much forward or back or to the side then it doesnt matter where we watch or what arms are doing it wont help. i think you might even find it beneficial for yourself to have a look at some more modern practices like for example Wave Ki
When I watched your bottom turn video I had gone surfing an hour after and did one of my best bottoms turns I’ve ever done, Tysm!
Glad you found it useful 🙌

Wondering how many (former) CT pros have had knee surgery on that back knee after doing 10,000 of those blowtails
A lot!!! Meniscus surgery is pretty common!
❤
😊
I don't like the flatting arms. It's reminiscent of those odd posses that were popular in the 80s. MR did it and so did Tom Curran.
Go and win at pipe!
🙏
Lakey , Lexus pays to sponsor a event, and No surf once more. No ceo no surf equals no sponsors

No one calls them "Beachball arms" come on now.
Maybe that cue works for them who cares
Waaay to much intro production. Thumbs down.
Noted
I wouldn’t take any advice from this lady
Love those breakdowns! It helps a lot to understand the nuances of surfing. Bring them more 🔥🙏🏾
More to come! 😊
