Wow! 😊 How amazing! Seriously great job, Noah!! I chose that particular product because the packaging really stuck out from the rest. And thanks a ton for watching and reaching out! - Rishon
So in the US do they not have regulations on food styling?! Here in Canada you can only use items that the actual meal itself would contain so no different ingredients, no glue, no corn syrups, nothing other than toothpicks and re-arranging or cooking the food items differently.
@@TS-eo9uf It can be used for generic foods like, lets say, a spread in a magazine advertisement about Christmas decorations or something. That would be fine because it's not an advertisement about the food itself. But if it's an advertisement for food then you can't use ingredients that aren't in the food as they usually would. Like, if a candy contains corn syrup that doesn't mean you can brush it with corn syrup to make it look more glossy. Selective arrangements can be done though, such as putting toothpicks in french fries and then putting that in Styrofoam in order to show off the item more. Or undercooking a burger in order to make it look more plump. It's very oddly specific rules.
So cool that you went to culinary school, and wound up in food styling. I took a design minor and also learned a bit about food styling in my photography class. Guess there are two ways to approach the profession 😊
That totally makes sense, and we find that a lot of photographers have found these videos by searching for food photography and such. Thanks for the comment :)
Nice! I like how the end result is still edible versus some of the other food stylists who basically shellac their food and all of it becomes inedible and just goes to waste.
She asked when the last time we had a microwave meal... 3 years. When I moved into my new house, I put the microwave in the basement. It's stayed there. I've used it about 10 times in 3 years. For popcorn and even then, it's been over a year. Back in the day, the pot roasts were my favorite kinds. Nothing quick in this house. Everything gets heated up in the oven. Lol You go girl. It looks great.
what i want to see is a professional food stylist and a professional chef make an edible, delicious meal together, but also have it looking advertisement/box ready. the ultimate challenge.
Thanks for the comment! Funny enough, I am classically trained in the culinary arts (Johnson & Wales University), which technically makes me a chef… and a food stylist 😊 and styling beautiful, completely edible food is what I do on the daily for editorial publications. Keep watching! I think you will be impressed with some of our upcoming episodes! - Rishon
If you were actually called in to style the food for the box, would you cook all the food fresh? It seems like that would be able to give you a much nicer result.
Yes, I would prepare all the food from fresh if I was called to style for something like that. It was a fun and interesting challenge to have styled from the frozen package, but not my ideal situation 😉 - Rishon
Ray Is Very Pan do you mean the green boxes of michelinas? I can’t remember the exact price! If those are the ones, I like them :) they’re not high quality or absolutely delicious but they’re a decent bite to eat when you’re broke! Haha
lmfao. If you can food style ANY fast food burger to look REMOTELY like the advertised product on their menus and commercials and menu boards..... First, with just fluffing the item you ordered. Second, by adding in any upgraded components you might need- a new unsmushed bun, fresh looking lettuce, etc.

Szilvia food styling is for advertising purposes. They do it once and it's on hundreds of thousands of packages. Considering how much food the average person throws out, this is not wasteful *at all*

But what if corn syrup is in the recipe, just in a much smaller amount?

i would have wet the paper towel first to make it sit/stay and help stuff stick in place
