The singer is Rai Thistlethwayte, lead singer of the Australian band "Thirsty Merc". He is also an accomplished jazz pianist and currently touring with Sammy Hagar.
3 absolute living legends who laid the framework for instrumental rock guitar! Thank you so much for the music Joe, Steve and EJ. The world is a little more beautiful because of you. 🧡🎸
It's great to see these trio. I'm very familiar with Vai and Satriani but Eric Johnson brings a great vibe. He adds a wonderful balance from beginning to end to elevate this wonderful performance to nirvana.👌🎸
Took my son to see them and I loved what he said when I asked him who was his favorite. He said “I love to watch Joe and Steve, but I wish I could play like Eric”
Rai has an acoustic album with his band 'Thirsty Merc' and it is outanding. Rai's voice is unbelievable and his piano playing is top notch. Should be more well known.
Saya menyaksikan film crossroads jaman masih belia thn 90an bersama adik dan alm abang saya dan sangat menginspirasi adik saya untuk lebih giat lagi belajar melodi gitarnya ❤
G3 Live in Concert is a treasure trove, such an inspirational performance! When Eric hits you with the SRV tune, amazing, and also For the Love of God performance was out of this world, maybe the best for me, and Satch elevates his songs to another level man, I mean all of the bands members are just insanely great, so happy for this!
I do agree with you, for me..the best version of for the love of God is g3 in 1996, also the best tone for the live version. And the opening intro is superb by @stevevai.
I remember when I bought the first G3 back in '97... and then I got the VHS! As time goes by... and despite their age, the same good vibes continue to be felt between these three geniuses
Credit to Rai Thistlethwayte, Lead singer of Australia's own Thirsty Merc. Awesome voice and of course, brilliant guitarists (goes without saying:).. Fantastic !!
I can still remember the feel of openening a Guitar Player magazine and finding out about the original G3 tour was announced. I eventually went to one here in Mexico, Petrucci was there.
I flew out to LA from the UK to see three of my musical hero’s and was not disappointed! Even got lucky and met Steve after the show on the 10th, honestly one of the greatest live experiences ever.. thank you!
Looking at this video you must note that the technic they have is not the most accurate in the world but the EXPRESSION always be in front of everything anyone can do it on guitar. Very Legends!!!
OH MY GOD I FOUND RAI THISTLETWAYTE!!! I just saw his interview where he mentioned he played for Joe and this is the first video I clicked looking for it!!! Fuck yea!!!!
