Love to all.
Thank you JP for another great review! Yes, our new tools allow us to make better guitars than ever before. This PS-SG-162 is a great example of how our D-size guitars have improved over the last few months. We were, as always, honoured to learn that you had decided to acquire this guitar. Thank you very much for sharing your impressions with the world, we truly appreciate it!
Best regards from Robin and the whole team!
Robin is that a Jumbo Dreadnaught or regular? It looks big sounds amazing!
I totally get you, JP. I have owned my Boucher OM PS-SG-161 made from the very maple as this Dread for just over a year now. It is - hands down - the most satisfying guitar I have ever played or owned. It sounds better and better every day. I absolutely love my guitar and it will never leave my hands so yeah, I totally get you, JP!
No words needed. It's obviously beautiful and sound to match. Grand piano... and make it a Steinway.
I have to admit, my jaw dropped when you hit that first chord. Never heard a maple guitar perform like that.
This Guitar is a piece of Art !!! It's the STRADIVARIUS of guitars ! ! The voice coming from it , is Out of this world. So Heavenly powerfull, and smooth at the same time ! Thanks so much for sharing this Perfect instrument Mister . Merci beaucoup mon ami !
I can feel this guitar in my soul.
Holy poop!! john!!! That first strum sent me doubled over to the floor. The best yet to date !!! OMG
That guitar is crazy good. JP you are so fortunate and blessed to play that. Cheers to Robin. Maybe one day.
Boucher makes great guitars
Lexus makes great cars
but I got Chevrolet pay
so a Yamaha is what I’m gonna play 😅
Nothing wrong with that.
Yamaha makes great guitars! They beat everything else or nearly everything else at their price levels. I got a standard revstar pro floor model for around $600. Unbelievable for the price. Their $4000 acoustic is an exception -- usually they are fine working musician guitars at down-to-earth prices.
Try an Eastman! Ofc always try a couple of guitars because it’s impossible to be the exact same
Even on UA-cam, I've never heard an acoustic ring like that. Sounds like a grand piano at times. Extraordinary!!!
He's leapfrogged his own self. Great line!
Incredible sound.
Hey @J.P. Cormier, could you do a follow-up video on the Gold Tone OB-300? Let us know your thoughts on it now that you've had it for a while. Maybe even have a comparison video with some of your other high end banjos. I think that'd be awesome. Keep up the pickin' and grinnin' lol
Wowowow thats crazyyy I'm blown away 🤯⚜️
JP I recently got a Yamaha LS56 Custom. It's fantastic. I couldn't find much about these on UA-cam but your video series sold me on it. It's a fantastic instrument. I can feel it resonate deep inside my chest
I got to tell you I'm having a wee bit of guitar envy going on here. I have an LS Transacoustic and it's an amazingly great guitar so I can't imagine how good yours is.
Great choice I think. You should make a video for it.
@@deb8tn I don't have a fancy mic or camera. Wouldn't do it justice. Sweetwater has one LL56 in stock you better grab it up!
Wow that is incredible sounding , that guitar could give a concert grand piano a lesson on tone especially with you playing it J.P. ,well done Robin Boucher .
O my damn. This actually sounds like one of the best you played.
Oh my…it vibrates just the air pressure from JP’s voice! Like hole cr*p Batman. What an amazing beast… and so beautiful
Beautiful!
That's just plain majestic, it's like a whole orchestra in your hands 😢
I'm with you. That is probably the best sounding guitar I have ever heard. I never knew maple to sound like that.
there's an artisan tobacco pipe carver from Canada that experiences similar backlog for his product. Michael Parks.
Ok the third time I watched from the beginning. This time it brought tears to my eyes and my ears are in heaven
Wow 😮 that is a beautiful looking and sounding guitar.
I always wish you would do some gentle and classy finger picking. Nothing showcases a guitar better than clear and melodic finger style
I just subbed 😊 I love the way you play guitar 🎸 😍
Great guitar so many great guitars these days it hard to choose one thanks
Everytime you introduce a Boucher My bottom jaw drops. To be that consistent everytime is mind boggling to me. Beautiful looking and sounding guitar. Can't beat that maple sound. Makes me want to play one, and make a stack of french toast.(I don't like pancakes) I have an Epi Dove and that Maple b&s sounds different than anything else I own. You call Robin an alien, I call him " The Wood Whisperer! Great job as always JP, thanks and love you man!! 👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😎😎😎😎😎
I bought a Boucher OM 41 last January and it is without question the finest guitar I have ever played. When I first played it for my wife, she asked if it has a lttle amplifier in it. It has all the volume that I need for my finger picking without picks. Each note is equal in projection. Pure, clean and it's all mine! Thank you Robin and thank you J.P.
Wow!!!
boucher really is out of this world!!!
Beyond awesome in sound. I have heard many different acoustic guitars but this one has broke the chain with tone and beauty. I have never heard one that equals this one. Unreal !!!!!
Absolutely love it. I wanted to buy this, but JP did before I had a change. I have a PS-HG-161 from the same tree.
That guitar is Perfection!!
Being a part of IT…the secret sauce is the TEAM dedicated to continue Robin’s legacy ;) for the love of guitars
Sounds like Robin has out-Goosed himself yet again!!
Love this maple - I am interested in getting a heritage goose OM
Like it.
You speak the truth. Best sounding and loudest guitar I've ever heard. Almost surreal. It's hard to wrap my head around.
I kid you not. I'm actually tearing up from the tone of that guitar.
When you first stroke of cord on that guitar, I was washing dishes and I had to play it over again because it was like orchestra. Unbelievable.
Hard to equate Maple with that sound. I was expecting a lot less balance and depth. Probably one of if not the best Maple acoustic I have ever heard.
It would be a cool video if you played "The Claw" on that monster.
Wonderful sounding guitar absolutely beautiful made by the alien a true master
Wow what an Acoustic !! What will be your pickup of choice for this one????
Oh wow! So it *sounds* like Robin Boucher has out Martin'd Martin on the Maple guitar design. Martin just came out with a new design using maple from North America that pales in comparison to that. Oh and I looked and there does not appear to be any available anywhere.
Like SG-163, this is one of my favorites you presented......
Thanks for reviewing this masterpiece for us JP!!!
Question: This sounds better than SG-163??.... you have both of them :-)....I remember the sound of 163 as a "Steinway" guitar!!!
Polyurethane coat looks great! Nice guitar. Be cool to see it compared to the USA Frontier that you reviewed a while back. Been loving to see Maple back and side guitars...it's new to me and the tone is really good. Can't wait for my maple back and side guitars (I have 2 now) get some age.
Good Lord, that thing will burn your face off. Beautiful guitar.
Saint siboire qua sonne!!!
Looks like sugar or big leaf maple.softer than eastern maple and a great tone wood.
Note placement of neck strap button folks at 11:43
Imagine how well it will sound years down the road.
Spectacular sounding Maple Dreadnaught! What are you naming it?
👍👍👍
WHAT?!?!?!??!?! Dang!
He's not an alien, he just knows how to reverse engineer those alien guitars....LOL
😮😮😮
Amazing! The depth in tone and the look ❤ what is the price of that beauty?
6,800 CAD $
Do you have your guitar course back up? Any update?
How much does this beauty go for?
That's interesting that this isn't one of his 'torrified" guitars and yet it's your favourite. Would you say that process only makes a difference on certain woods or maybe certain styles of his guitars? Would it be even better if it was torrified? Seriously thinking about laying down the cash for one of these.
How do they hold up over the years ?
What is the name of the tune you played at the end? Lol unbelievable guitar btw
Just an ASTOUNDING guitar!!
Hello from Spain. Please, J.P, Two question please. What guitars picks are your favorite? What guitar string gauge you prefers for acoustic guitars? Sorry because my english is horrible.
I use elixirs light gauge phosphor or the new Daddario XS strings. I like any large triangle pick that's over 1.2 mm.
@@JPCormier Thank you so much. I feel very lucky that you responded to me. I love Boucher guitars, but in Spain there isn't even a distributor.. thanks for your job
I love it when two people get it right. JP and Robin are two of the best. They go together like peanut butter and chocolate. Thanks so much to you both. It's absolutely beautiful to the eye and especially to the ear.
And as is sasquatch boucher is the crem da la crem the rollos Royce if You Will oh Jon bye the way check out Mackenzie and mar Ian Tyson model Made in Canadá all solid
Amazing tone. I can see it’s maple, but the richest maple tone I’ve ever heard. I have 2 maple guitars, a Guild 12 String and a Taylor. Love them both but not even in the same galaxy as that one…. BTW, a Boucher J. P. Cormier signature guitar should be arriving on me doorstep shortly… 😎
So what you going to name her?
Takes one to know one… your an alien, a beer drinking guitar playing alien…
Well......TECHNICALLY, in the USA.......Robin Boucher IS an alien, and so are YOU. But we know you come in peace, to serve all mankind, and so - WE cool.
lol good one!
Yep and none of that backdoor probing stuff either. ;)
Drool all you want there still not affordable for every one...
Je te comprends très bien, mais d'un autre côté, est-ce qu'on demanderait à Ferrari de sortir un modèle de char à vingt mille piastres?
It's literally Jumbo shrunk to a dreadnaught. Like the sound has been squeezed in that body and yelling to get out. A good term would be Natural Compression 😂😂😂. This is to big of a guitar for bluegrass. This guitar would shine with the Halifax Symphony like that show you did with BooBoo. The perfect guitar for you since you do a lot of solo and duo work. The only other way would to have it plugged in and dialed down, but would be a waste lol...
Le boutte de toutte...
Is that guitar terrified??
Hello Mark!
This guitar doesn’t have a torrefied top! The back and sides are not torrefied either.
😂😂😂😂
You may have to ask St Peter to show you something better than that.
Man... Boucher makes guitars that just do not seem like they should be possible when you're playing them. My BG-42-GM is like playing a Marshall at volume.... but an acoustic? It doesn't even make sense... and I see they have one of these locally... that's dangerous for my wallet....
