It’s always such an honour to hear you talk about our team and our guitars JP! Thank you so much for taking the time to review this Private Stock Jumbo. Best regards and much love from the whole team!
I just bought a Private Stock Maple PS-SG-161 today at G&G Music and my God!!! What a guitar!!! We drove up from Moncton and boy was it worth the time and effort. Glenn treated us very well during our visit and both my wife and I were floored at this beautiful flamed maple guitar, it's just unbelievable! And this guitar isn't just a beauty to look at, the sound is just as astounding. I've never heard anything that sounds this good. For whatever reason I thought that having maple back and sides might make the guitar a bit too bright but no, the sound is perfect, Tons of detail and clarity, loud if you dig into it, it projects so well, very responsive. I never dreamed that I would ever own something this nice, I will cherish this guitar until I am no longer here. Thanks J.P. for all the great videos on this line of guitars, you've been quite a source of knowledge on this stuff. And Robin, to you and your whole crew, thank you for putting in so much effort to get everything right, it's clear that you are all proud of your craft and don't settle for anything but the best, it really shows. Don't ever change. I played something like six Boucher models at G&G today and every one of them was stellar but for me, being primarily a fingerstyle instrumentalist this OM hybrid was hard to beat, so it's now sitting in my house. Today was a real blessing, I will treasure this guitar for the rest of my days. Merci Monsieur Boucher!
I am blessed to have been able to buy my Boucher OM built with that very same flamed maple log (bought it from Dave at Lauzon music in Ottawa). I first was attracted to it by its stunning look but the minute I played it I was even more stunned but the way it sounded. Bought it right there and then. You’re right, JP, Boucher makes the absolute best sounding guitars right now. To boot, I spent a good half hour with a fine tooth comb looking for defects or flaws and I found exactly nothing wrong anywhere. My OM is pure perfection but I sure can’t say the same about any of my other guitars (Martin, Taylor, etc…).
I have now watched all of the GSWJ videos in the last few days... you just killed me with this one. Wow... I made the right choice to pick up a guitar again...
You deserve this guitar John! Absolutely amazing. I have sold 20 guitars in the past 20 years. I have ended up with 2 Yamaha L series (because of you) LS-TA and LL6. Both fantastic and will not be leaving me. Did you keep any of your Yamaha Guitars? 😍
At the first notes, I thought "That's the best sounding J-200 I've ever heard." A J-200 is usually not a flatpicking guitar but this one definitely is. I imagine that's because, being a luthier-built guitar, it's just built to a much higher spec - the top is thinner, the bracing was voiced for the guitar with constant tap testing along the way, it doesn't have that super thick Gibson finish on it, etc. It also makes me wonder if more J-200s might actually be better flatpicking guitars than we know, since everybody who owns a J-200 strings it with lights. I'd like to hear a J-200 with mediums on it just to hear what it sounds like.
I've been playing now for 3-4 months, and if I could afford that guitar I would not buy it. My playing would never do it justice. The crystal clear, booming sound that comes from that sound hole is unworldly.
You twisting and turning that beast around to get it into the camera shot feels a bit like the impending doom experienced while watching a horror movie.
has the boom of a martin (but without the muddy ness of mids n trebl) , the mids of a taylor (but without lack of bass), the clarity of alvarez (but louder), with the touch of and response of well made classical guitar . . . WOW too bad cant score one in the now. maybe one day i'll get to play a boucher (prob not one of these examples cuz sounds like they'll sell out)
I somewhat like your channel but your reviews hold no legitimacy cause your so biased its ridiculous to them and yamaha ans boucher is good but borgois or however u spell it and predton thompsons guitars come on man, it did sound great but i will never be able to afford a boucher or even play one so what do i care
We have changed so many perceptions with our maple back and side guitars. The recipe , the type of maple used and body size can play a big factor in this equation. We humbly suggest that you try one if you ever can. Humbly, they might change your mind.
oh jp check out the Eastman aj630 and the aj 330tweleve string the 630 is a 6 string both are super jumbos 630 is maple and 330 mahogany I believe the do a Indian rosewood model as well they will make an aj817 custom order I missed one by one day and a Rhode island guild jf30 12 that played like a strat absolutely was crushed you'll love um I guaranty it
J p don't put a pick up in it of any kind it doesn't need one and it would be a sacralige to put a hole in that monster just use an instrument mike don't mess with robin boucher,s pristine unadulterated perfection
that sucker has the biggest set of elephant ball I've ever fuckin heard holly mother of shit balls you could fire a cannon ball out of it and it wouldn't even bother it my god that mofo kicks ass what sound and sustain hey j p what did she cost I've got to know as I want one badley I could eat it let me know when your coming to buffalo NY for a show and bring it and the other boucher jumbo I'm quite close to the fretted buffalo and you and Bill have met and talked love to meet you oh by the way check out Nick's garage his shop is in Laval quebec muscle car central you'll love it I'm going to be picking up an squareneck hound dog dobro love to jam with you when you come to buffalo NY on your next trip happy pickin bro keep up the great work ol pal if it possible if you bring those boucher jumbos we can do some pickin and grinnin hee haw style me buck and you roy

Woah... The Boucher elves did it again..

My face just fell off. The Steinway comparison was spot on.
What will we do with all of our faces on the floor? 😂🤣
@@abates226 😂
Herringbone trim to the strap button is absolutely gorgeous! Another gem JP
Yeah!
The projection and clarity but warmth is mind boggling. Probably the best Jumbo i've ever heard in my life!
It is an absolute beauty of a super jumbo that sounds nice and crisp.
I could hear that thing FILL that microphone. That thing DOMINATES!
Man, that guitar sounds awesome!
Thank you JP. Tremendous instrument. Unbelievable.
What a stunning guitar!

Goose bumps!!...now that's rare over the internet!!...
Something about a maple body they sound like a sweet songbird. This Jewel is over the Top and the great Beyond ....
Holy cow that thing is beautiful.
Sure is a beauty….sound is amazing !
Great review and great sounding guitar, I know you're an amazing guitarist but you're salesmanship is right up there with your playing. Cheers.
Ofta that's what us Minnesotans say. That's is just huge and articulate sounding.
Another awesome video JP
its alive
I try to follow all your shows. I'm a introverted songwriter. You guys feel like my family, when I watch.
I knew I wasn’t the only one that felt that.
It is a magnificent guitar, with an extraordinary sound. Cheer. J'adore.
aha, luv the Temperance Reel. What a guitar!

My kind of Guitar! I have a Goodall Jumbo with Sitka and Koa that is similar to that one. The workmanship is awesome! Thanks much!!! 😎🎻🎸
Wow. That is a fuckin beautiful guitar. Well done Robin. Amazing sound
Amazing sound even with my phone.

Beautiful Guitar as always J.P .
Wow, sounds like a grand piano!
That guitar seems to stay out the way, when I sing to it. Its clean, super clean.
I've been playing now for 3-4 months, and if I could afford that guitar I would not buy it. My playing would never do it justice. The crystal clear, booming sound that comes from that sound hole is unworldly.
Awesome!!! Glad to see reviews again….I’d like to hear what you think about Blueridge guitars
The top is not torrefied ? Is that the case with all of the "private stock" and Is there a reason for this?
Beautiful guitar, I am partial to maple.
You twisting and turning that beast around to get it into the camera shot feels a bit like the impending doom experienced while watching a horror movie.
Awesome🙌
Had a Gibson J185 that had it sounded like this Boucher, I would still own it…
J.P. Do you have a review on the Boucher BG-252?
Thank you, David
Great guitar i have an idea if you were told the price you would pass out
Absolutely stunning to view and heavenly to hear!
No dreadful Moustache Bridge..
that's one awesome looking and sounding guitar, its a cannon!!
has the boom of a martin (but without the muddy ness of mids n trebl) , the mids of a taylor (but without lack of bass), the clarity of alvarez (but louder), with the touch of and response of well made classical guitar . . . The tone and balance are astounding!
Hahaha something about this guitar that is just not right, that's funny :)
After listening to this jumbo, I have no clue why anyone would ever want a dreadnought.
I somewhat like your channel but your reviews hold no legitimacy cause your so biased its ridiculous to them and yamaha ans boucher is good but borgois or however u spell it and predton thompsons guitars come on man, it did sound great but i will never be able to afford a boucher or even play one so what do i care
Apparently you care enough to comment? But I doubt you have made an effort to try one?
Iam luthier and the nut and saddle are made of bone.
Oops, yes this one sounds great.
It is what it is but you are a hell of a player JP
I guess you'd pass on a Gibson SJ-200 then?
I had one , maple sucks as a tone wood , very pretty but that's it , Rosewood can't be beat
@@lawrencerasmus Interesting...ANY maple guitar? Even a Gibson Dove?

🤣
@@LesGuitaresBoucher JP was right about your approach and attitude. It's an almost extinct quality but you can see it in that comment above.
Looks like and incredible guitar. I'm not enthused about his copying the Gibson fret markers.
Has a brightness and resonance you don't generally get with maple jumbos. I always find them thumpy and basic sounding.
Sold !
Stunningly Beautiful 🤩 ❤💯
You are so good at playing!
where's the beveled sides
Love my Larrivee J05
Just wow
Very nice review, What’s the cost of this beast???

I'd love to also see it in a 12 string omg can you just imagine what that mofo would sound like
I'm begging you j p let that mama be
J p do you think that robin has enough to build another jumbo like yours and what would the price be roughly
