The cards just have a statement on them - only the person reading it knows if it's true or not. Doesn't matter if it's true or a lie, they just have to make the other team guess incorrectly.
We love WILTY and Bob Mortimer is hilarious. These are called comedy panel shows and Britain has a lot. They are so popular because its not about the winning its all about the great banter, the interactions between the celebrities, and its such comedy gold. My favourites also include Nevermind the Buzzcocks, Taskmaster, Have I Got News For You and QI.
Ignore the idiots complaining that you're trying to play along and guess whether they're telling the truth or not - that's literally the point of the show (as well as to laugh).
I know right? That comment about people telling boomer we don’t do the same or it’s not about guessing whether they’re lying? WTF? That’s literally what most households in the UK do 😂😂😂
Right!? The game is definitely part of the entertainment. People who claim otherwise must be lazy anglophiles who think every panel show is 8 out of 10 Cats.
Headsup...Not for reaction but a good watch is a recent 'crime' drama series called 'Ludwig' with David Mitchell where he plays an autistic twin brother of a detective who goes missing and has to masquerade as the detective but actually starts solving murders...Not sure if you can get it in the states but it has been commissioned for a 2nd series over here it was so good...
Each team gets a point if they guess correctly, whether what the person on the other team is telling a true or lie. And it is fun to guess! The banter is more fun, bt it's still fun to guess. ;-)
I always like trying to figure out if it’s a lie or not, it adds to the fun of it imo. Who wants to sit there like a potato waiting to be told the answer?
Hang on KB, who told you we don’t do the same thing, me and the Mrs do exactly the same on this show and keep score; as do loads of people in the UK, not sure what kind of person is just watching this and not hazarding a guess themselves on each truth or lie!
People always overstate the "the points don't matter"/"the panellists don't care if they win" parroted points WAY too much. They absolutely do care, but it's mostly about having fun. It's like a game session with friends/family. OFC everyone is trying to win while playing, but by the end of it you're just glad you had some fun (most of the time). IDK why people are so absolutist about this and get so angry at the idea that the panellists do broadly want to win, even while having fun. It honestly comes off as deranged.
The game is where they read the card, it's either a true story or fiction. You have to make the opposing team guess the wrong answer. For example if it's a false story you have to make them believe it's true, for you to take the point., and vice versa. They do keep points, but not that it means anything
Your team gets points if the opposite team gets it wrong (saying a truth is a lie or a lie the truth). The opposite team gets points if they correctly say it's either a truth or a lie. It is scored, but as with all UK panel shows (I wouldn't call these shows gameshows), the scores don't matter that much. It's really about the laughs. But that doesn't mean with WILTY you shouldn't play along when watching, most do.
there is a scoring system, team gets a point if they guess right and the other team gets a point if they are wrong, everything they say has to be true for it to be true
As a Brit, watching these panel shows like QI, Would I Iie To You, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, the point system is "arbitrary". These shows are "in general" so chaotic and random that giving points are worthless, that's why these shows work in the UK (edit) or in the context of this formula.
Bob motimer's books have gotten me into reading again. Hilarious and I cant thank him enough for bridging the gap between wasting away online to laughing behind a book - recommend it! Satsuma complex was my 1st
Rob does read out scored at the end but they never make sense because the programme is edited to half an hour . It's all for fun and don't forget our entertainment industry is much smaller so all the guests either know , or know of each other . The US version tried hard but wasn't the same . Bob is great on Wilty , David and Lee are the captains and have been on every show since it started and they always get the best out of their teams . This one was a bit obvious you ought to try a longer compilation with a few stories . Loved the reactions .
Here in the UK, we have a trend of game shows being more about the humour than winning points. In terms of QI with Stephen Fry, the show is also about intellectual humour and intellectual curiosity.. the points are more just a whatever..
Queen is very instinctively smart as she always seems to guess the aim of the game or story twist with limited information provided by Brian. One bit she got wrong, it will be the fact on the card they told a staff member before or they were researched on but yeah the point is to make them guess incorrectly, if they were telling the truth, then even though they have to tell the truth, they may try to be ambiguous or act suspicious to make them guess its a lie.
Weeks before taping the show the contestants write real stories that happened to them. Using that information writers invent fake stories, i think it is 50/50 ratio. Then the cards of each contestant is randomized and they don't know if one of their real stories or one that was written for them is on the card. This is important part of the show, as many contestants lose their cool when reading the card, they crack up... So.. with Bob the fake stories are as wild as the real ones, it is almost impossible to know.
Watch Vic Reeves dancing with Kimberly Wyatt - it's very short but will destroy you! As an added bonus, Bob Mortimer is also in the clip. Make sure that Queen Boomer is watching, too...
You asked if Bob Mortimer was an actor or comedian - he's a comedian, but would you also believe he was a lawyer? You should check out his "Gone Fishing" BBC programmes too.
Enjoyed that and can I just say: be as competitive as you like! If you start listening to people telling you how to react, it’ll get boring and fake real soon.
WILTY keep score, but only say which team won and who the top liar was. Good team-up. He does have a Dog, he takes a little terrier fishing with Paul Whitehouse for the BBC 'Gone Fishing'.
We all like to win American or English it just doesn't matter when its a celebrity panel show because the people are put on each side completely randomly anyway and winning doesn't really have any result.
Sometimes these comedians are thrown a curveball just to see how they handle it. Lee has had a few where he obviously didn't know where to start and couldn't hold the story together.
Bob's true stories are equally preposteous and he tells them in exactly the same way so it's literally impossible to tell whether he's telling the truth or lying. That's what's so fuuny about it.
I think they put some serious point in successfully lying. They probably have some of camera stats for overall score and seasons. Especially David Mitchell and Lee Mac
There's only one point in play per card. No bonus points. If the other team gets it right, they get a point. If they get it wrong, you get a point. It doesn't matter whether it's a lie or a truth, it only matters if it's a correct guess.
Would I Lie to you, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for you, just to name a few English panel shows that are sort of disguised as quiz shows, their actual intention is to make a funny.. no one actually treats them as quiz shows 🤣
They do keep score. If you watched full episodes, the format would be a bit more clear. The other team gets a point if they guess correctly, and your team gets a point if they guess incorrectly. Don't listen to the people who criticise you for trying to figure out if it's a lie or not. The game itself is definitely part of the entertainment in WILTY.
I would subscribe to your Patreon if Queen Boomer had her own section.... Have been waiting to see some cooking or baking skills or even reacting to content that she picks! Just putting it out there!!!
Queen Boomer, the object is to discuss the issue stated on the card which may or may not be a true for the person reading it (sometimes true and sometimes false as the guests will have stated a few 'fun facts' no-one else knows about them). You have to convince the other team to believe what you are saying is true (if they say true and it is true they win the point, if they say false and it is true you win the point)
Okay for queen, these are the rules. The card just has a statement, it’s either true or false. It’s your job as the person reading to convince the opposing team. If the other team guess false if it’s a true statement you get the points, if they guess true if it’s a true statement, they get the points. It’s not rocket surgery.
I don’t think you’ve ever reacted to a show called mock the week No one knows how the scoring is worked out, but nobody cares because it’s just so funny
Everything is always better with some bob mortimer ❤
and the lovely Mrs B 😄
The cards just have a statement on them - only the person reading it knows if it's true or not. Doesn't matter if it's true or a lie, they just have to make the other team guess incorrectly.
The best thing about Bob is his ability to wreck David Mitchell's grasp on reality.
He live rent free in Davids' head
Bob is fabulous when he’s on WILTY so many of these improbable stories end up being true love it❤❤ great to see both of you KB excellent
You've got to get her to sit in on the David Mitchell/Victoria Cohen-Mitchell WILTY 😂😂😂
Most contestants on these panel shows couldn't give a crap if they win or lose. Unless it's John Richardson.
Bob is a living legend!
Did you know Bob Mortimer is a lawyer.
Bob is the WILTY GOAT for sure , Happy Thanksgiving to you and the Boomer Family, Brian ! 🙏❤
Happy Thanks Giving KB, QB And PB. Hope You Guys Have a Lovely Holiday.. Thanks For All Your Reactions.. Please Keep Them Coming 🙏🎂💌
I love Bob. That’s called a double bluff 😅similar thing happened in Blackadder the Christmas Carol can’t wait for you to watch that
"I believe that we will win!" vs. "You're nothing special. We lose every week."
Great football chants
this was meant as a demonstration of the American mentality when it comes to competitions, not a reaction suggestion, btw: We've all seen that one.
Good old Norwich City, we won 6-1 this week!!! we were playing wheelchair users but a win's a win!
Always great to have the Queen on your reactions and anything with Bob Mortimer is a guaranteed laugh!
Bob Mortimer's prank calls into Iain Lee's radio show are brilliant
Master of the double bluff is Mortimer.
In WILTY they are not allowed to lie if it’s true.
I have an old dog with hip issues too queen boomer. He has a curled moustache and listens to Bob Dylan vinyl on the wrong speed.
Ignore the idiots complaining that you're trying to play along and guess whether they're telling the truth or not - that's literally the point of the show (as well as to laugh).
I know right? That comment about people telling boomer we don’t do the same or it’s not about guessing whether they’re lying? WTF? That’s literally what most households in the UK do 😂😂😂
I feel like the point of the show is to piss david off enough that he goes on one of his rants
Right!? The game is definitely part of the entertainment. People who claim otherwise must be lazy anglophiles who think every panel show is 8 out of 10 Cats.
Bob's stories are always insane
To borrow from Churchill, Bob is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. 🤔
Oh, not Al Murray then!
@barriehull7076 Probably not, but you never see them together so ... 🤔
'You can drain their lymph system' 😃, why Bob included this part I'll never know, but I'm glad he did!!!
always good to see the queen, and on a bob video. excellent. she should defo watch a compilation of him
A BTec is a vocational qualification like carpentry or advanced astrophysics.
There’s an episode with Peter Serafinowicz on that you must check out. Absolute classic 🥳
Each team gets a point if they guess correctly, whether what the person on the other team is telling a true or lie.
And it is fun to guess! The banter is more fun, bt it's still fun to guess. ;-)
This is the best ! I so look forward to your next one.
I always like trying to figure out if it’s a lie or not, it adds to the fun of it imo. Who wants to sit there like a potato waiting to be told the answer?
More Bob Mortimer
The look on QB's face, 1min + in, about not important to win.
Hilarious, like, does not compute 😮
So 🇺🇲
Hang on KB, who told you we don’t do the same thing, me and the Mrs do exactly the same on this show and keep score; as do loads of people in the UK, not sure what kind of person is just watching this and not hazarding a guess themselves on each truth or lie!
Bob is a national treasure!

They do keep points, but not that it means anything
It’s especially hard with Bob he’s the goat of this show 😂
They're *supposed* to try to get the other team to guess it incorrectly but it really doesn't actually matter what the outcome is
Your team gets points if the opposite team gets it wrong (saying a truth is a lie or a lie the truth).
The rules are very simple. If they guess correctly, they get a point. If they don't, they don't :)
What! Queen boomer??? This is highly irregular
there is a scoring system, team gets a point if they guess right and the other team gets a point if they are wrong, everything they say has to be true for it to be true

Hehe... Bob understands reverse reverse psychology
Bob's is also a qualified solicitor \ lawyer, not as daft as he'd have you believe.😊
Bob motimer's books have gotten me into reading again. Hilarious and I cant thank him enough for bridging the gap between wasting away online to laughing behind a book - recommend it! Satsuma complex was my 1st
Hallmark Bunyons - this sounds like something Bon Mortimer would come-up with!
WILTY The US version would have a bonus round to be able to sue the liar lol
Thanks as always KB & QB!
....And Away!
Bob is my neighbour (relatively)a local legend and a national treasure.
Da queen!! She is still alive guys. The rumours are false 😉
In the UK an Alsation dog is called a german shepherd in the USA.
Watch an entire episode.
Rob does read out scored at the end but they never make sense because the programme is edited to half an hour . This one was a bit obvious you ought to try a longer compilation with a few stories . Loved the reactions .
‘Nobody’s notorious on it for winning’. See Claudia Winkleman compilations.
Henning Wehn is a close second to Bob Mortimer I think...completely different but a hilarious watch
Here in the UK, we have a trend of game shows being more about the humour than winning points. In terms of QI with Stephen Fry, the show is also about intellectual humour and intellectual curiosity.. the points are more just a whatever..
Can't wait for you to realise that Bob Mortimer is the greatest and funniest living human being.
Queen is very instinctively smart as she always seems to guess the aim of the game or story twist with limited information provided by Brian. Try the one where Bob does his own dentistry!!
Next up,show the Queen, the Bob and the orange clip!
Good choice 👍
You need to react to Rob Brydon's cuddle jumper
if you haven't seen them already, for a couple of brilliant bluffs, check out the Carrot in a Box episodes of Cats does Countdown
Yay King and Queen Boomer, there is an American sort of version it's story warz with Big Jay and Louis j Gomez
Enjoyed that and can I just say: be as competitive as you like! If you start listening to people telling you how to react, it’ll get boring and fake real soon.
You need to watch a whole show.
WILTY keep score, but only say which team won and who the top liar was.
Good team-up.
He does have a Dog, he takes a little terrier fishing with Paul Whitehouse for the BBC 'Gone Fishing'.
A Christmas Tree Chopper-Downer :D
We all like to win American or English it just doesn't matter when its a celebrity panel show because the people are put on each side completely randomly anyway and winning doesn't really have any result.
Love that tombstone t shirt man it’s such a good film
Bob DOES have a dog ! 😂😂😂
This show follows the same rules as carrot in a box.
You should show Queen a bob compilation.
Sometimes these comedians are thrown a curveball just to see how they handle it. Lee has had a few where he obviously didn't know where to start and couldn't hold the story together.
It's the team gets the points

Please do.Bobs home dentistry or chased out of town storys on this
The just get the point if they're right about whether he was lying or not. They do keep score but it just doesn't matter that much.
If they guess right, they get a point if Bob fools them Bob’s team gets a point
They do keep score. If you watched full episodes, the format would be a bit more clear. The other team gets a point if they guess correctly, and your team gets a point if they guess incorrectly. Don't listen to the people who criticise you for trying to figure out if it's a lie or not. The game itself is definitely part of the entertainment in WILTY.
you should read his auto biography, its wrote with three lies in it but he never says what were lies, and its mental
I would subscribe to your Patreon if Queen Boomer had her own section.... Have been waiting to see some cooking or baking skills or even reacting to content that she picks! Just putting it out there!!!
Maybe hes not allowed to own a dog, after someone seen him massage a dog. :o
Also, looking for a great British game show to react to? Taskmaster. Seriously, it's the best
Jon Richardson on 8 out of 10 cares about winning😂
10.40 that's the whole point 😂
Queen Boomer, the object is to discuss the issue stated on the card which may or may not be a true for the person reading it (sometimes true and sometimes false as the guests will have stated a few 'fun facts' no-one else knows about them). Love the way you actually want to win! I mean, who gives a f***?
It's Bob Mortimer. I *might* be true!!!
I don’t think you’ve ever reacted to a show called mock the week No one knows how the scoring is worked out, but nobody cares because it’s just so funny
At one point, you almost went 15 seconds without pausing.
The people who are good at this game are the ones who make it sound fake when it's true and vice versa, no need for that on the card
if queen boomer likes winning, she could play numberwang? 😛
