Paul Simonon and Mick Jones (who ironically was also in Big Audio Dynamite, one of the band's Damon took as inspiration for Gorillaz) both performed on "Plastic Beach"... and another legend - Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order) - performed on "Aries" in 2020.
Hey Been watching you for awhile now and I've gotta say how much I appreciate your kindness and your laughter, stay funny stay safe stay cool, sending love from across the pond and buckets of virtual hugs 🤗🤗🤗
Always liked Gorillaz, but was really interesting to watch their in depth origins, and it has to be said, your great reacting skills add a lot of fun and value.
all the art work and illustrations for grorillaz is done by jamie hewlett, jamie is an illustrator, he created tank girl and also had an episode of judge dredd in the 2000ad comics. his work is legendary in the underground comic scene.
I’ve still got the Clint Eastwood single on CD somewhere and I never realised that they used a Banksy picture on the cover until my brother got into his art while doing his GCSEs and did a piece on Banksy. They’re a cool band.
Beetlebum into Song 2 from the Blur album has to be one of the best opening pair of tracks to any album, they even chose them for the first two tracks on their best of album too
Gorillaz actually had a number one song in the UK with the song "Dare" off their second album , Demon Days. It featured Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder on vocals and 8n the animated video.
Damon Albarn also did some movie soundtracks on the 90's, I think his best one is the film "Ravenous" with Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle, he also did a soundtrack for a weird Icelandic Film "101 Reykjavik", a funny film.!, and few other films also.!
Massive attack 🙌🙌🙌 Which reminds me “primal scream” “Scheme” (the band) all Glaswegian and while I remember “Jamie Webster” (Liverpool)(weekend in paradise) or any song actually, my duty here is to recommend a local artist “Dylan John Thomas” (lovely day & what I need) 🏴 PS not asking for a reaction, but check them out but I’m not not asking for a reaction 😊😅❤
In 1995 Blur played a gig in a defunct nightclub called Oscars in my hometown. Watching that show told me that at least one person on that stage was going to do something seriously weird in the best possible way.
You really should check out massive attack. One of the best band's to come from these sceptic isles. I suspect you like rock and guitars, in which case your would probably like Mezzanine best.
I can't believe you hadn't heard of massive attack!
Coolest thing in the Gorillaz was the legend that is Paul Simenon former bassist in The Clash.

As a valley's lad in the 70/80's I was blown away by the Specials

I suspect the flat that Damon and Jamie shared was quite an upmarket one, with more than one bedroom.
To you and yours JJ, I hope that you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving.
Russell Hobbs is my favourite name in the band. If you didn't know, they make kettles and kitchen appliances 😂 they're a brand
i met Jamie Hewlett at the opening of a comic book themed bar back in the early 90s. seemed like a nice guy

Considering that half the NHL play Song 2 after every home goal, I'm sure that's the one that earns Albarn the most cash
Beetlebum is a fantastic choon

Oscars was on the pier and I was a 22 year old drinking Scrumpy Jack.
My man, love your reaction videos, especially New British Canon. One love from sunny Scotland 🏴

BANANA SPLITS!!!
P.S. If you split with your long-term partner and a mate does too - moving in w/each other is a great and terrible idea 🤣
Dare, Rockit .
Hope you're feeling better today, JJ.
