    Clear instructions, a good soundtrack and a presenter that doesn’t make me want to close the tab. It’s the perfect install video

    Sway bar settings...All the way at the end is the softest setting...Longer lever applying force to the bar = less roll force needed to twist the bar to allow roll. Inner hole is the stiffest...shortest lever applying force to the bar=more force needed, less body roll. I'm sure this was just a mix up. Great install video though.

    Bill is one heck of a mechanic...he doesn't even use gloves!
    When I used to come back from school, my mom always said, if you don't have ink on your finger, you were not in the class. Same way I think, if you don't have cuts and grease on your fingers you aint to real mechanic. That's why I totally respect Bills installation videos.

    Hey Bill, I notice you didn't show REMOVING the back springs,,,,will they just pop out easily with the rear unloaded and the shocks out ? Thanks

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 7 років тому +2

      Not sure how that was missed in editing but yes once you have the shock removed and lower down the rear it will fall out.

    Good video. Should have changed the bushing above the rear axle hub. Not sure what it’s called? They are known to go bad. Should have included some shots from the side, rear, etc to show how it sits before and after.

    Why do some instructions for this job tell you to tighten everything for the sway bars with the wheels lowered onto a drive on ramp? I saw ford instructions that say this: “With all the above steps complete and rear connections still loose, re-install the wheels and tires and set car on the ground under its own weight. With the car sitting under its own weight or on a drive on type of hoist, tighten all connections in the rear. This is done to prevent bushing pre-load and premature wear of the bushings.” Since this was not done here, I’m wondering if it’s really important to do it that way?

    Does this kit allow for no drop in clearance? I am looking for all the benefits that this kit can provide except for that.

    Awesome kit I have it installed on my 2008 GT. Where did the owner of the car get the billet fog light bezel's? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

    Have you gotten around to installing the handling pack on your 2015? I'm looking at the same kit and would love to hear how it works on the street and track. My car is my daily driver but I visit the track fairly often along with some Autocross just to round out the diet.

    Good day, I have complete coilover suspension by Steeda. I'm wanting to raise up the car some. What adjustments will I have to make in order to accomplish this task? Thanks.

    Is this comparable to the suspension used on the 08-09 Bullitt? Also, does the Bullitt use different control arms than the GT?

      on a 13 GT you should be able to align to spec without them

    Hey Bill, I really want this kit for my 08-GT/CS Convertible - just brief questions - does this require alignment afterwards? Will it be close enough/drivable to get it aligned ? For the panhard bar, does the rear end usually/always go "out" requiring adjustment from stock or does it stay close? Should the panhard be adjusted while lifted//under load or while on stands ? Sorry for the questions..I am a so so mechanic but methodical and pretty sure I can do this with your video !!!

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 7 років тому

      You will want to get an alignment but it is absolutely safe to drive to the shop. Panhard adjustment should be done on the ground with the suspension loaded.

    @billthumas Would you see any problems reusing the strut to spindle bolt. It says 1 time use from ford but I was wondering if you have reused them and seen any problems?

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 років тому

      Dylan Whisnant Ford lists many of their suspension bolts as one time use only but I have never had any issues reusing them.

    Hey Bill, for my '06 GT, will i need caster camber plates for alignment after the install? Or just use the supplied upper mounts?

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 7 років тому

      With this setup caster camber plates are not needed for alignment.

  • @shokforums
    @shokforums 9 років тому

    so the drop is mild enough that I wouldn't need an adjustable upper control arm to change pinion angle, either with or without a one piece drive shaft?

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 років тому

      shokforums Your pinion angle would be fine unless you were looking to run the car on slicks at the drag strip.

    My 05 has factory 17" wheels. I want to go with 19s. For the front, I'd like to use a 265 or 275 and the rear, a 295. How many inches will I need to lower it where nothing will rub while driving and turning? I don't want it so low that the tires are under the wheel wells, though. What do you recommend for a cool stance, using 19s?

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 років тому

      +John Mooradian With those sizes 1.5-2.0 inches would be fine. I typically reccomend 1-1.5 in drop

    Will this kit hurt my 60 ft. times? I only want to lower the car an inch, but would like to keep my straight line performance. Thanks!

    • @wetalk6141
      @wetalk6141 5 років тому

      schlagboy sorry for the late response, but no it will increase 0-60 because if your spinning your not winning. Now this helps with the spin, not to mention you can actually track the car now.

    Hello, are caster / camber plates required if lowering a Mustang GT 1 Inch ? Thank you.

    • @squishydafishy
      @squishydafishy 5 років тому

      no. just make sure you get proper caster/camber bolts for the struts so they can be adjusted to spec with no difficulty. Prob the stock ones will work just fine tho for only 1" drop

    Is an adjustable UCA necessary if you're lowering the car an inch and a half?

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 років тому

      Slinzoip It is a good idea if you want to dial in your pinion angle. You don't need it, but adjusting the suspension will help traction when lowered.

      Ford lists this as GT only but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The springs are GT specific so my guess it you wouldn't get the same drop because of the lighter engine.
