You'll never ban a Chelsea fan!
Try telling that to Josh Parsons & Richard Barklie.
I was their with 40 or so mates, we all got nicked at Ostend & held for 17hrs just for not having a tickets! I did a dozen or so Euro away trips in the 90's & only remember having no hassle off the old bill in Austria. Glad I don't go anymore, had my day.
There was such hype about trouble before the trip. We went via the official travel and were kept in a car park somewhere in Bruges, they wouldn't let us leave to go in the city. Heavy police presence at the stadium, but was a fun night despite the result. The return leg was even better.
Great days. Could write a book about this trip.. 1000's deported.Managed to escape from a warehouse when they brought in the water cannon. Serious firms at this game. Made it back to the pub in the early hrs tho.
Where were we when we were shit? Actually in your town,in your pubs and in your fucking end.
I was there. My brother was working in Bruges and sorted out five tickets for him, me and 3 pals. He told me that the Bruges ob would take berties with anyone who got off the ferry, so we decided to fly out there. Wasn't as expensive as we thought. We had a great day wandering around acting like frog tourists but getting slowly more and more pissed lol Got in the ground easily enough and outsung the home fans. I saw firsthand the police brutality and make no mistake, that is exactly what it was. We got involved with dragging one kid away from their equivalent of the SPG [remember them?]. He could have only been about 14 or 15 and his dad had been looking for him. Kid was crying because his dad had blood running down his face. My brother speaks fluent French [I'll admit I was such a disappointment to my parents lol] and we got the pair of them into a taxi for the hospital. My brother went with them. We skipped off to the hotel and got pissed again in the bar. I remember I woke up, threw up, forced some toast down and made our way to the airport, straight to the bar. Yeah, I was there when we were shit. Carefree.
They were even pulling over motors with GB plates at the French-Belgium border. Luckily got through. And made it on to one of the corner terraces up the home end with a moody ticket.
vaugley remeber this on tv
