Ariel Rider X-Class 52v - Triangle Battery and Dual Seat Install
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 вер 2024
- Here's a video of my OCCafeRacer Two-up Two Seater seat/saddle and 52v 20Ah (40A BMS) triangle battery installation for the Ariel Rider X-Class 52v. The bolts that came with the new saddle is tiny compared to the stock long saddle so I wasn't able to use power tools. A regular ratchet did work to secure it. The seats are really beautiful in person - mine is the dark brown. I'm waiting for the battery blender to test the range of both batteries. Sorry for the messy background, my 3 year old was playing around with his toys. :) Thanks for watching!

Thanks for all you do man! I actually just finished installing the same battery and bought the battery blender from Sparks. All thanks to your videos and suggestions. I haven’t done a distance test yet but I went on a quick 8 mile ride and it was still at full charge in the end with the dual battery.
Thanks again! Riding my x-class 52V will now be lit ⚡️🔥⚡️🔥
Extra Range. 👍🏼 Glad the video helped.
@@antoniosadventures1844 any torque increase or just range?
Good job changing the look of you xclass. I purchased two of them and already made a lot of changes to them, they are so much fun to ride and get so much attention. if you don’t like talking to people don’t get one you’ll get stopped a lot. Love these ebikes they are so awesome!
Haha yeah. I have another ebike converted from a mtb. I used that when I feel anti-social on bike routes though the battery is always a dead giveaway.
Battery upgrade is very interesting. Just got my 52X a short time ago and testing it out. I really like it. Watching from WA state. Thank you for showing us these things. Subbed.
I live in a hilly neighborhood and that really dropped my mileage.
Nice...looking forward to the battery blend vid👍🙏
Got it today. Hopefully time permits to do a vid.
Nice...👍I got the xclass 52v to...Im planning to mod the bike to a qs hub motor 8000w 72v kit for next summer...
Great 👍 vid
Waiting for my x class. Can't wait to get it. I ride the same south bay bike route . Love it. 619
Haven’t seen AR’s around our area. Mostly Super 73’s. Hope we get more bike routes in our area soon! SD is such a beautiful place and you appreciate it more on a bike.
@@antoniosadventures1844 Do you like the new handlebar. Thinking about getting them
@@reyesfam619 I do. Since you sit a lil bit more upright. It’s easier to tuck on high speed on stock one though, more the cafe racer seating position.
@@antoniosadventures1844 Right on bro. Hope to bump into you on the route.
How do you like your seat. And how's the second battery working out so far
You should do an update video, giving a review of the battery and telling the improved range
Definitely! It’s been months since I posted. Just been busy with fam and work. Happy Holidays!
Nice video….I’ve learned a lot from your previous videos and have incorporated some of those ideas on my Ariel X- Class.
Thank you! I’m still learning things too.
those seats look fire
You could "trim" the Velcro at the top. My choice would be seat over battery, but that's me. Nice video and very good instructions.
Yup - thought about doing that since I got an extra hai-long type battery and it does look cleaner. I just didn’t want to drill out the bike for mounting points. Good eye on the Velcro - I replaced them with better quality ones the one with plastic D ring buckles.
@@antoniosadventures1844 Yup
Did you order the seat for the grizzly or the x class? I know both will fit and are the same length and width, but the one for the grizzly is a little bit thicker. Also, what color did you get? I think you said dark brown in the video, but that looks more like the saddle color option.
Just a suggestion get some long stainless steel zip ties and use them under the Velcro. 2 reasons first they will really secure the battery and second if you have to leave the bike unattended for a brief time it makes it much tougher for thieves to steal the battery
I actually never heard of stainless zip ties before. This is cool. Thanks!
I own the same battery. Excellent battery. Good buy.
I haven't get my bike yet and I was thinking to get that triangle shaped battery.
I'd say wait until you get the bike. Maybe the range will be enough for you. The hills around my area kills my mileage. I'm not stopping you when you find a good deal though. Battery prices fluctuate so much recently specially the one with 40a BMS.
You should make a range test video with the new battery, I’m thinking about buying one.
I know. Just haven’t had a whole day to ride 😅. I want to say I get 40+ miles with the 2 batteries around my hilly area.
@@antoniosadventures1844 haha fair enough
Thanks for helping us
Looks good !
hey, thats the exact type of setup I want, added range.... is it dificult to add that battery? I suck at electronics and just looking to buy a simple upgrade like this to get more range. is it just plug and go?
What kind of range and speed you get with the dual battery set up
Can you post a video when you ride the bike with the extra battery
What brand of front bar bag is that
will this battery also work on the v 48 ?
Wounding about what you get for mileage now with the second battery
About 40+ miles with a lot of hills.
Is the front part of the seat thicker or thinner then the original seat? And what the comfort like?
Seat height is about the same as the original single saddle. It felt like I’m seating on bricks on the original one. I want to say the new one is more comfortable but it’s still not like one of those memory foam/cloud 9 saddles.
how has the battery been since after install?
is the bike performing just fine?
Yup no issues. Triangle battery has been ok. I also have a “shark” shape battery on my other bike from UPP that’s been ok.
@@antoniosadventures1844 how many watts is the battery 1500 or 2000?
@@Thenerdschannel 1500 I tried matching what the bike has.
@@antoniosadventures1844 one more question haha did you gain any speed after install?
@@Thenerdschannel still maxing at 36 mph.
thanks for the video. I just got myself almost the same set up for my X-Class 52v except for the battery blender (mine is FBC). Curious how your UPP triangle battery's charge is holding up since this video was from September 2021? I too have a 52v 20ah (40A BMS) that I recently received a few days ago from their website (not ebay), but unsure how reliable they will be as I don't think they used named brand batteries like LG, Panasonic, Samsung. I'm a bit paranoid charging it too cuz of some of UPP batteries exploding and setting homes on fire.
Hi there. I was skeptical also on the battery. In fact I built another bike before the AR and used the brand Chamrider from AliExpress. The wait times on that goes up to 6 months so I bit the bullet and bought UPP. So far no issues. I’m taking some precautions though like charging outside the house away from anything that might burn. Avoid direct sunlight since the charger does heat up. I do charge both batteries at the same time. I didn’t realize my video was at September, I really need to do an update. 😅
@@antoniosadventures1844 ah! awesome🤘I guess it’s like 1 in a million chance for it to blow up. Wish i can charge it outside but i live in Seattle and it rains here like 9 out 12 months in a year. Car garage charging is all I can do. Gonna try charging it both at the same time like you😬
Nice video, do you have the link for the triangle battery? I would very much like to install this on my 52v to have the same performance as yours.
I got mine from seller, qzfbattery. The price went up $20 since I got it about a month ago, possible due to supply issues again. I went with the 40A BMS.
Awesome bike!, do you have any links for the supplies you purchased? Battery, battery blender etc.
Added the links. Thanks for watching.
are you still able to take out the original battery?
Any chance you still have the AR long seat & want to sell it?
Any update on the comfortability of the seat. Major upgrade from original ? My OG is murder !
OG was like sitting on bricks lol. It’s definitely an upgrade vs that. Comfortability wise I can say OC Racer > AR long saddle > AR OG single seat. It’s night and day vs the OG single seat but if you already have the long saddle then there’s only a lil bit of difference in comfort. Quality and looks though - it’s awesome, no creases after months of use.
It'd look better in plain black without "battery" written on the side.
Definitely - thinking about covering it with a wrap, sticker or some kind molle.
How many watts is your 2nd battery?
I’m not seeing the link for the battery. I’ve looked at a few of these batteries online and I am concerned about fit so I would like to be sure I’m going to get the one you have since it obviously fits well.
I didn’t post the link since I got it from EBay and the links for the posting always change. I got mine the seller qzfbattery they have +100% feedback and it’s close to home… also at the time I bought they’re only the few that has a 40a BMS. I had to upgrade the Velcro straps since the one that came with the battery doesn’t hold that well.
@@antoniosadventures1844
Oh okay. Thank you so much for replying. It seems like the battery dimensions are tight for the location. I’m just concerned about fit that’s why I want the same one you have.
How much did it increase your distance?
@@UncleFat no problem. I get about 40 to 50 miles now. That’s around a neighborhood with a lot of hills.
@@antoniosadventures1844
Nice! I just got a new extended seat for mine so me and my wife can ride and the extra battery power will sure help. With both of us on a moderate paved trail with few hills we have only been getting about 15 miles. Combined we are at 300lbs so that’s pushing the max weight for the bike. Even with that load the motor handles it just fine and we can get up to 30MPH on the flats.
@@UncleFat right - that’s actually the next vid I wanted to make. How much mileage I’ll get with me and my daughter riding at the back seat. Hopefully I can get it done soon.
My three triangle battery's are in a tall cameo water proof tent material covered modified covered steel wire milk crate behind me on top of the bike rack bike looks much better with the box behind me
Hi, nice set up! I’m about to buy the same seat. Do you recommend it? I was also thinking of adding an extra 1” to assist pedaling and for comfort…. Any thoughts on that?
Many thanks for your video🙏
Quality and comfort I do recommend it. My bike sits outside under a covered patio and the seat still looks brand new. I think the extra 1” might help depending on your height. I can’t comment on that since I honestly don’t pedal a lot on mine. I do find myself extending backwards on the chair when I try to help the bike going uphill.
Nice video is the ariel x blk long seat for sale??
sorry, not selling as of right now.
@@antoniosadventures1844 Thanks for the reply 👍
Hello how much was the long seat???
The one I installed was 200, he has one that’s not 2 piece for 190. The Ariel Rider long seat is 90 but is currently out of stock.
is that triangle battery safe
So far no issues with mine. I got both triangle and shark type batteries that’s UPP branded. Of course I don’t open the case, mod the battery or anything. I try to charge these things away from flammable stuff as an extra precaution.
Link to seat?
Added the links. Thanks for watching.
how has the battery working so far. How much range are you now getting from both batteries
No issues on the battery. I get mostly close to 50 miles on a very hilly neighborhood at 200+ lbs. I ride this mostly with my daughter as a passenger. I’m pretty sure you’ll get more miles on flat roads and less weight.
@@antoniosadventures1844 does she ride in front or behind you,? I want my son to ride with me. He is 4 tho.
@@Catamount19 she rides behind, she is 11 though. You might need a proper bike seat for the youngin. I have a 3 year old and haven’t found a good one for him yet.
