I think the chain here is only used with the pedals since the electric motor is a hub motor in the rear wheel. Are you saying that the pedal chain should be switch with a belt or that you would prefer a center mounted motor with a belt?

I think a few mods would make this so I could start getting out of the house. I wonder how many older adults could use this to get back to moving. The seat size is a game changer for me. Now all I have to do is loose a few not many but a few pounds and save up on my fixed income lol.
I'm 74 and over weight and love our X-Class 48. I got it for the same reasons you stated. I will say you need to be 5'-6" or taller to get on this ebike comfortably. Highly recommend.

As a kid I went to a camp that taught us about many things like different kinds of rocks, what to do if you get lost in the woods, and a trail that showed Native life which humans should get back to. Give it an extended seat with that motorcycle backrest and the ability to hook something up like a modified rescue board. Don’t need cars and can get anywhere people can. Mostly writing this so they get money for comments if that’s a thing.

When I was a kid the coolest thing was a Schwinn five-speed with a stick shift , racing slicks , long banana seat and sparkle color paint... This surpasses that... This thing is only what we could have dreamed of.. LOL

Yes probably, under 5'0 wouldnt. i would say absolutely perfect/ideal is like 5'7 but that's such a minor difference if you were 5'3 or 5'10, maybe a 5% difference I'm 6'0 and this is pretty much perfect, maybe a bit small

Yes it can. The bike comes shipped with the front wheel off. Two retaining nuts with included wrench. Just line up the brake disc between the brake pads and tighten the two nuts.

I purchased a Blue 48V X-Class for $1599 in March 21’ and with a fully charged battery and “unlocked” the Bike I reached a top speed of 35 on the bike speedometer and 33mph on my gps app! I weigh 195lbs and there was hardly any wind that day. For this type of quality built ebike and performance at $1599 was so worth the bang for the buck! No other ebike on the market can offer quality and performance like this for the money! I’m 45 and this ebike brings back my BMX days from the 80’s! It's not a bike in any sense of the word. These are "bikes" that are prohibited on most (should be all) bike trails. So you can't really ride it on bike trails and if you ride it on the road not using bike lanes it is a dangerous platform. I like a fast bike (e or otherwise) but these things should probably be licensed. There are more of these 30+ mph machines that are being called bikes than ever before.

mine came with a thumb throttle that was either full throttle or nothing other than that the bike is better than expected no issues

Chain is just for pedaling. The motor is a hub motor on the back wheel so it doesn't rely on the chain to drive with the throttle
it's only for pedal assist it's has a hub motor that doesn't even need the chain to be on the bike to power it.
