Jake at Labor Day Bow Party! I haven't seen any one play with this much pride, precision and passion in Hollywood in decades. Jake doing it the way we all did in the late 80s. Go Jake Go!
Even though I was a huge Randy Rhoads fan I didn’t want to accept jake as a replacement., as a teenager this cassette tape showed up on my door step from Columbia records club. Needless to say a wore it out my junior year of high school. Such a great album and great guitarist
OUTSIDE CONCERTS ARE THE BEST,THE SOUND DOESN'T BOUNCE OFF THE WALLS,JAKE YOU ARE OUTSTANDING AS USUAL,GET A WALL OF MARSHALLS AND CRANK IT TO THE MOON
Jake never got the love he deserved OZZY treated him like shit!! Yeah gave him a job but dam man the man was a great player! Besides Randy Jake is the right behind him #2
I get shit for this, but Jake is my favorite Ozzy solo guitarist. Rhoads was the first and played on Ozzy's most important records, and Wylde was the most marketable as a rock star; Lee got passed over by history like the forgotten middle child. And that's a damn shame. I always thought Lee would've done bigger and better things in his own band in '83. By the time Badlands was released, I think it was too late.
Watching Jake E Lee gives me good memories in the past. My best friend, in High School used to play Jake E Lee guitar solo for me every weekend. At 5 p.m. every Friday, after school, I would be at his house, until Sunday night, to go back home and go to school; Monday morning. My best friend, Vince Irwin, died in my hometown. Everytime, I hear Jake E Lee, it reminds me of my best friend, Vince Irwin. At least, Jake E Lee is still around and that is very good to see!!!
Sounds like one cool friend. Jake was my neighbor when I lived by LAX in the late 80s, early 90s. Didn't know him, never met him, but saw him with Ozzy about three times. Awesome player.
Jake's my favorite Ozzy guitarist. I wish I could have been there when Bob Daisley and Jake E. Lee were writing Bark and Ultimate. It must have been a creative bonanza.
To me Jake is the Jimmy Page of the 80's. He seems to have a depth and darkness that only he, Blackmore, Cantrell, Thordendal and Page can plumb in their songwriting. Yet, he has more energetic dexterity and precise intensity than the others. On top of all of that he seems to be the most humble and grateful dude. I always felt like Ozzy made a mistake letting him go (even though I like Zakk). It took me years to fully appreciate Jake's depth as a guitarist because he was the only big 80's guitarist that was about function more than flash. Hopefully more people will come to appreciate his true genius.
Gotta say, I really don't like his singer at all. But on the other hand no one can sing Ozzy's songs like Ozzy. I heard some of the original Dragon Cartel songs aswell, didn't like his voice too much there either to be farely honest, I definately believe that Jake could get a singer that would over deliver.
No. That can't happen. There would be too much legendary epicness in one room. It would cause a tear in the fabric of space and the universe would implode.
I love all the shit talk about Jake. Bunch of Randy Rhoads purists and deaf Zach Wild fans. Jake E. Lee wrote some of the most iconic riffs in metal, but apparently some people can't hear past there brainwashed ears. Bark At The Moon is one riff that as soon as you hear it you instantly know the song and are instantly pumped. Killer Of Giants, Rock and Roll Rebel, Lightening Strikes, etc...They are all great. Bark at the Moon is easily my all time favorite riff...Just my opinion though...
I think Jake is a great player but to categorize him with Randy Rhoads or Zakk Wylde is absurd !! 3 totally different styles of playing!! No one will ever be in Randy's league except maybe EVH , Jake is a great blues style shredder and Zakk Wylde is a Southern Rock Shredding Madman !! Bark At The Moon was a great album but The Ultimate Sin was hit and miss for me!! Yes Lightning Strikes , Shot In The Dark , Secret Loser and Killer Of Giants are brilliant but the rest of the album was kinda passe' ( my opinion of course) !!
Dude,3 yrs ago ,this is one he first formed this band,he is great playing but he is so phenomenal nd excellent that he is always giving his all, only ozzy can sing ozzy ,but jake wrote the ozzy song so its great too!
Jake is KING ! He is the total package as a hard rock guitarist and he is as real as it gets as a person too. Don't ever go on hiatus again Jake as we were deprived during your absence !
Jake’s one of the greatest guitarists out there and wrote some killer songs and riffs with Badlands too. My favorite Ozzy albums are Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin.
Randy never got the chance to really blossom into what he was capable of. we'll never know.... what a loss. Jake was the perfect choice to continue what Randy started. Jake and Randy have 2 different styles that compliment eachother.
Light Bearer, YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING JOKING RIGHT? TONY IOMMI? RANDY RHOADS? ZACK WYLD? DUDE THESE GUYS EAT HIM FOR BREAKFAST ALL DAY. JAKE E LEE WAS A GREAT PLAYER FOR SURE WHEN HE WAS AT HIS BEST WITH OZZY BUT I WOULDN'T PUT HIM NEAR THOSE GIANTS OF GUITAR, NOT A KNOCK ON HIM AT ALL THINK OF THE MILLIONS WHO PLAY GUITAR HE IS GREAT BUT NOT LIKE THOSE GUYS.
Jake had the impossible task of stepping in for randy after his tragic passing and he did probably the best anybody could have of hoped for . He truly is amazing at making music and has a unique and memorable style and flair . #1 Randy Rhoads,#2 Jake e lee , #3 zakk wylde
"Sorry, I fucked you bro, it's just business," nothing personal, you know how the industry is. - Drunk Ozzy on one of their reunite tours where Jake was invited. Every real metalhead knows that Ozzy's best guitarist melodically, composition, variety, versatility, criminally underated and consistently good til today, unlike Zakk Viking Alcoholic Wylde who sounds like shit and designs disgusting guitars with the same stupid bullseye design. Jake's white Charvel with black pickguard and his Blue Burst with gold hardware superstrats are so much cooler and more versatile and of course the best tone was Jake. Randy Rhoads died too early so we don't know how good he might of been today when most amazing guitar players from the 80's burned down and slowed down, whereas a very few like Jake E. Lee, Dave Mustaine, Ritchie Blackmore, Adrian Smith, Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan, Gary Moore, Eric Clapton, Neal Schon, George Lynch, Warren DeMartini, Carlos Cavazo, Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana, and whoever I missed, too many. And Charvel is definitely the coolest guitar company out there, I own a Made in USA White Charvel So-Cal with maple neck and black pickguard. It's literally the same guitar as the USA Jackson Adrian Smith since afterall, Jackson/Charvel are both sister companies and owned both by Fender.
The drummer needs a bigger kit. He's missing voices in a larger kit they need to fit this music. Non-drummers may not know what I mean, but I don't mean it makes you a better player but the original fills don't sound as well on a smaller set when you have to condense them on onto fewer drums. Jake is still awesome.
I see people talking trash on the rest of the band but that singer didnt do that bad of a job considering it's an ozzy song so good luck pleasing people that want to hear his voice
A true genius and innovate.i crafted my free flow improvisational play on guitar by MR. Jake e. Lee.he's the best hands down blue collar, dingy, think on the fly, rock hard guitarist.i always wanted to play a charvel like him.just watch his solo in the DVD ultimate Ozzy.mind blowing.god bless for a man like Jake e. Lee
We all know Randy was a legend, but Jake E Lee never got the credit of being a great guitarist who had the rare gift of songwriting on the guitar! I couldn't tell you 1 mudda effing song Zak wrote or memorable solo or rhytm. Ozzy pissed on Jake and used him like the Deuchbag Ozzy is...Ozzy wil NEVER have any songs even close to what legend Jake E Lee wrote!
I couldn't tell you 1 mudda effing song Zak wrote or memorable solo or rhytm. really No more tears, Miracle man mama im coming home, simple but perfect. Mr. Tinkertrain Breaking all the rules.Road to Nowhere,I Don't Want to Change the World..Fire in the Sky..maybe if you pull your head from your ass you'll hear it better.
great player ok.. but i say that jake's a true virtuoso , guitar god, a guitar wizard.. original and innovative and a very humble guy... hang on jake - we all are with you - you will get the recognition which has been long long long over - due... you easily surpassed randy rhoads and zakk cannot hold a candle to you - you are light years ahead of over - rated zakk wylde.. hands down jake - you rule..
Andree thanks.... even eddie van halen once remarked that after himself - he considers jake to be the best shredder and that speaks volumes about jake's wizardy with the guitar....
This is better than the album version in my opinion. All the people talking shit about the rest of the band must be deaf or something. The singer sounds damn good. He's ten times better than Ozzy these days.
The Jake E Lee years were the pinnacle of Ozzy's career.
Never get tired of Jake’s playing 🎸🤘
I do, he can't advance.
It's hypnotizing watching him play. I need to see him live.
He is superlative🎉
Even though I was a huge Randy Rhoads fan I didn’t want to accept jake as a replacement., as a teenager this cassette tape showed up on my door step from Columbia records club. Needless to say a wore it out my junior year of high school. Such a great album and great guitarist
Love Zach and Jake. Just something about Jake!
you can tell he loves playing those classic licks he wrote. Legend!
OUTSIDE CONCERTS ARE THE BEST,THE SOUND DOESN'T BOUNCE OFF THE WALLS,JAKE YOU ARE OUTSTANDING AS USUAL,GET A WALL OF MARSHALLS AND CRANK IT TO THE MOON
My favorite guitarist along with randy and eddie
Jake E. Lee, Never Disappointing
Top 5 guitarist ever...
Bad ass, evil riff from the crawlspace of Hell! Ozzy's best song. Thanks, Jake.
This is the ultimate in Jake E sin
Amazing, forever
Jake never got the love he deserved OZZY treated him like shit!! Yeah gave him a job but dam man the man was a great player! Besides Randy Jake is the right behind him #2
Jake > Randy
jake you are awesome dude!!!
JAKE STILL A GUITAR HERO BADD ASS
I get shit for this, but Jake is my favorite Ozzy solo guitarist. Great guitar work.....

Why Jake left Ozzy ?
カッキ~~~~!!!ジェイキー!!!正直オジーの所にいた頃よりも格好いいぞ!!!
I love Zack.. But I'll take Jake any day over him
Same
Am sorry is better guitar jack e lee
Zakk*
I’d take Jake over any Ozzy guitarist any day. Sorry Rhodes fans. Jake was/is really THAT good

. Rock On Brother 🤟

cool friend! 🤘🤘
Sorry for your loss. RIP.
My favorite Ozzy guitarist after Randy. Phenomenal guitarist.
Same here. Sharon is garbage for firing Jake.
Same here mate
I actually like Jake E. Lee better!
Not after Randy. Jake E Lee is better than Randy.
Hell yea
Jake's the real deal, always has been.
Jake's my favorite Ozzy guitarist. I wish I could have been there when Bob Daisley and Jake E. Lee were writing Bark and Ultimate. It must have been a creative bonanza.
One of the "thumbs down" on this video is Sharon guaranteed. I really dug this vid, long live Jake E. Lee ! We Love You!
Seeing and hearing Jake playing in his old form brings tears to my eyes. Rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So happy I saw him Live in 84 and 86. Bark at the moon blew me away!
Who needs a whammy bar!, this guy is a true master of his craft!!!!
Jake and Warren DeMartini (Ratt) use the fret to do tremolo- totally wicked
Jake is the highlight of any band he is in. Immensely talented and just absolute precision and creativity in his playing. Amazing. Still a Guitar God.
I would say in Badlands though Ray Gillens incredible vocals equaled Jakes playing as the highlight
His guitar is aggressive like a jaguar!🐆Beautiful!
That tone!!! I always love Jakes playing
Man that amp is stokin' loud!!
I stood directly in front of Jake with a quartet of 5150s. Mind blowing - Massive tone!!!
Jake E. Lee, you still got it!!! And you have James Hetfield playing drums!
funny man!!!....lol true!
My thoughts exactly!!
Ben Ramirez haha
Well Hetfield would be better at playing drums than Lars LMAO
your eyes are fucked up ....thats NOT james dude

One of metals all-time best guitarists, imo
Absolutely! He is way underrated.

Jake is a true Samurai, a master . and reminds me of Akira Takasaki. Hopefully one day they will unite
🤘🏻 🌟 🤘
No. That can't happen. There would be too much legendary epicness in one room. It would cause a tear in the fabric of space and the universe would implode.
So true
Jake e Lee is a true guitarists.
A guitar master and one of my influences when I started playing guitar and years later, even today.
I love all the shit talk about Jake. Bunch of Randy Rhoads purists and deaf Zach Wild fans. Jake E. Navind Moodley thank you my man 😀
Jake way to good for these guys
Jake is and always has been amazing. This band and singer suck though.
Yeah, the singer leaves a lot to be desired. Jake still kicks ass though.
Sucks compared to who, Ozzy? This guy isn't bad by any means
he isn't that great he's ok but he will hold the band back
Dude,3 yrs ago ,this is one he first formed this band,he is great playing but he is so phenomenal nd excellent that he is always giving his all, only ozzy can sing ozzy ,but jake wrote the ozzy song so its great too!
Ultimate Sin is still one of my favorite Albums - I can listen to each song and not skip any - why? Thanks to Jake E. Lee that's why!
still a monster player
Fuckin' killer awesome Jake E Lee !!!
Jake's the man. After Randy Jake was the best...that legendary axe
Love Jakes playing, him and Lynch are my two faves.... 👍
Oh my, that tone is so full of power! And yes, he totally looks like a Samurai lol. You go Jake! Show them who's boss
The band is awful. I'd like to see him get it on with Living Loud.Replace Morse.
Its about moving air with tone and Jake can do that. plays hard with expression too. one of the best
That first badlands album is kick ass!
Best Ozzy Guitarist imo. Most melodic anyway.
- Damn right, bro. Jake E. Lee is the man.
Melodic?? haha Please , he's ok but cant even compare to Randy. I saw both play with Ozzy and Randy is a legend. To each their own.
yeah thats why he uses the same chords in every song and they all sound the same. pft..
Randy never got the chance to really blossom into what he was capable of. we'll never know.... what a loss. Jake was the perfect choice to continue what Randy started. Jake and Randy have 2 different styles that compliment eachother.

Jake looks good and sounds amazing! God bless him! Very melodic solos and well executed!!
It's painful watching this guy sing. Man, Jake deserves better than this. He is a living legend.
what's wrong? He's hitting all the notes...it's just crappy recording audio.
He’s a bit goofy looking but I think he sounds better than Ozzy
Jake and Ray Gillen was a match made in heaven! RIP Ray Gillen..
As a man sitting here with a Randy Rhoads Polka Dot V, Jake rules!
Abby Paden, VERY well put.
I get the comment Jake kills it. But to me Randy was a baby, only 23 when Blizzard came out and 24 with Diary.
I was so happy to see Jake E. Lee come back... that was an amazing opening to a show. Just killed it
Sharon and Ozzy made Jake sign a 30 year clause, he cant talk about or perform anything from Ultimate Sin, Bark Etc. Obviously, its up
Whatever people might say he made a massive contribution to one of my favourite albums
Jake had the impossible task of stepping in for randy after his tragic passing and he did probably the best anybody could have of hoped for . He truly is amazing at making music and has a unique and memorable style and flair . #1 Randy Rhoads,#2 Jake e lee , #3 zakk wylde

Musica_aeon whoa whoa whoa. Nobody's a bigger fan of Jake than me. but surpassed Randy? um. ....no.
Great playing but ditch the generic metal singer.
well Ozzy fired him so we're stuck with this singer and Zakk "pinch harmonic" Wylde thanks to Ozzy
Love Jake. He sounds great here. But that singer has got to go.
Good to see him take back the songs that he wrote nd part owns ,,,,,j e lee made.... ozzy
Just wondering how hard it would be for Jake to put a decent band together. He truly deserve it...
best thing that happened to ozzy after randy ffs and they totally b balled him.
Is that Frankie Banali singing? LOL
Jake is absolutely incredible!
The real deal
So many people do not get that. The TASTE in his playing is unmatched.
Jakes tone is the darkest, what a monster
This is amazing!! Thank you Jake!! Keep going, we all love you!!
Can’t believe I haven’t seen this till now!! Brilliant stuff - nice close ups of Jake too 🤘 Thanks from Ireland🇮🇪
Jake E. Lee Always Delivers The Goods Right On Time!

I've heard that Jake is a very humble person
Live or transit through San Diego 30 minutes from Tijuana
Jake forever !
When I hear something about a ukulele player called Jake Shimabukuro in Hawaii, I always
remember Jake E. Lee.
Jake is a phenomenal player but also a phenomenal performer! Dude can move with his axe!
LEGEND!
This is better than the album version in my opinion. All the people talking shit about the rest of the band must be deaf or something. The singer sounds damn good. He's ten times better than Ozzy these days.
Jake is one of the most Badass guitarists to come out of that 80's era and so melodic and tasty. Way more appealing than pentatonics played 400 mph
It's great to see that Jake E. Lee is back & sounds awesome!
in case you were curious what Jake e Lee would sound like playing with a lame bar band...well wonder no more....
