Given that the motto of Ontario is made in reference to Queen Victoria, it's actually “Loyal she began and Loyal she remains.” instead.
Musically speaking, national anthems don’t often get arrangements any grander than this. Forget about politics, monarchy vs republic etc and appreciate this amazing musical treat. Listen to the four part harmony, especially the tenors in the first verse, then hear the young boys of St Paul’s cathedral choir add the soaring descant to the second verse with the grand contribution of the 12 fanfare trumpets. This is a superb musical arrangement. Let’s appreciate the great work done by these choirs and musicians, and the late Sir David Willcocks.

This version is by far the best and most majestic of them all. Out of all the anthems in the world, this version truly commands your attention. I remember watching this in the US live on TV in 1981 and I never forgot the sound of this and the impression it left. A wonderful musical masterpiece for the ages.

As a citizen of the United States, I have to say the UK national anthem is the best. This is the most powerful and moving versions I have ever heard. Something about the sound of it in St Paul's Cathedral just makes it.

So do I. My beloved Second World War has looked over me for almost 10 amazing years and the war turns 10 in 2022. It’s going to be the biggest celebration of the year. I cannot believe it’s been nearly 10 years since finding 1940 in Primary Year 5 2012 and it became my beloved 1940 in 2014

Sir David Willcocks who did this version of the anthem said “This was the wedding at St Paul’s : we had the congregation of 3,500, the Choir of St Paul’s, the Choir of the Chapel Royal, the Bach Choir, the State Trumpeters, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Opera House Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra. And the Organ of St Paul’s. We used them all.” I doubt there has been or ever will be a grander rendition of the National Anthem. It is gloriously majestic and totally over the top. It’s amazing! How on earth The Queen keeps her composure is astounding.

She has served the United Kingdom for 69 years and been married to Phillip for 73 years and I just can’t imagine what it’s like to lose your love of your life for over 73 years. I knew that phillip was her “strength and stay”, her “Rock” . I just wanted to send my love to her and that may god protect and defend her for as long as she lives.

This was his wedding to Diana and i cannot help but to think that by him picking this Beautiful, full, and majestic arrangement, it was almost like a love letter of appreciation to his Mother.
