I’m a Canadian and will forever be a royalist and proud to be a part of the commonwealth.
When America was hit by 9/11 and all the people of Britain stood stalwartly by our side, I gained a new appreciation for your great country. I then proceeded to teach all my music classes Jerusalem! Love you my dear brothers and sisters across the sea.

Tommyenergy. In WW2 the spearhead which led the liberation of Europe were six. Those leading forces were three American, two British and one Canadian. Don't worry. We remember you. Your soldiers were there with ours. Your pilots were in the Battle of Britain too. We remember all right.
And not long ago a rebuilt Canadian Lancaster bomber flew with our British one- together again. Special greetings from the UK.

Jerusalem is proof that true beauty of a nation is in its culture and people, not its government and politics. I am an Indian researcher and a doctoral student of eighteenth and nineteenth century British literature, and I get goosebumps whenever I listen to Jerusalem.

Just sitting here -- an American -- late at night, *weeping*, uncontrollably. They all stand up at once and sing, from memory, a hymn about working to turn their country into a New Jerusalem, a place where God -- His light and kindness and goodness -- dwells freely.
Samuel Barham
Jerusalem is actually about the eighteen Missing years of Jesus. It is supposed to have been that Jesus came to the southern shores of England on a ship with his Uncle. Joseph of Arimathea who was a tin merchant! Hence the line -: "And dd those feet in ancient times walk on England's Mountains Green!" That start the hymn. Jesus then was supposed to have built a church at Glastonbury in Southern England. The town or village as it was then was called Avalon! So this is where the link to England and Jerusalem come into the equation. This is also why virtually every true English person k own this hymn off by heart. Please watch the link below which will explain the text above in greater detail

Despite being a secular nation
Callum
The UK has only really been a secular nation for around a hundred years but the UK's origins are deeply rooted in Christianity albeit Catholic or protestant since the 1500s so your point is exactly?
@@britbazza3568 Yes and while its good to honor the past, its also better to leave things behind.
Callum so your attitude is to keep looking forward and not look behind then! History has shown that those that do what your suggesting and ignore the past while blindly moving forwards get caught out by history. The wise person keeps one eye on the past and one eye on the future that way one is less likely to make the same mistake twice because they will see what's coming at them from all directions and know how to deal with it from experience!!!!

Elizabeth II is the WORST monarch we have ever had and we have had some pretty shit Kings and Queens in our time and that says a lot.
David Josephus Daniel Nuntius She sits idle while this country gets taken over isn’t she the defender of the faith in our nation?
Henry V King of England and France Even though I admire that she and her hubby have been married for almost 73 years, I agree with you. I wish she would fire some people, despite the fact that a constitutional crisis would then follow. This country is being bled dry by so many abuses that our leadership seem to be doing nothing about. I don’t think she has a clue what life is like for those of us who don’t live the lifestyle that she leads. She’s surrounded by people who seem to be doing their best to stick two fingers up to the rest of us. I wish she’d see a post like this one, but that’ll never happen.

So sad to look back on this with the passing of one of the greatest monarchs of all time. As an Australian, I still have quiet pride of having lived to see such an incredible reign. May she Rest In Peace.
I'm a Yank, so I have little merit to make a statement. I'm sitting here, at this moment, bawling. The UK is at such a precipitous moment in her history both past and future. For as long as my lifetime, she has had the consistent service on one person who has served her peoples, guided her country through times good and bad, and loved her nation with more than all of her being. It is simply humbling to see that, amidst the chaos, and above the fray stands a nation in love with their sovereign. She is so very deserving of it, and her nation is so blessed to have her. May God continue to bless the United kingdom, and may God save, indeed, your Queen.
A minority among us want her gone, I am not one of them. In these ever darkening times, we need her now more than ever.

I'm French, 21 years old, and I went to London three times : in 2016, 2017 and 2018. These were the only vacation I could afford in my life, because my mom managed to find a decent paying job 5 years ago. We only stayed for a few days in inexpensive places, we ate at cheap but awesome places and bought very cheap souvenirs but I will forever remember these vacations. I heard that a lot of Britons criticize the Londoners, but they were so kind and polite to us. It's becoming harder to meet strangers so well-behaved in France ! We discovered a place really different from our small town, full of traditions and secrets. I wish I could get back in England to visit the rest of the country... But right now I can't afford to pay a passport. I'm sad and I hope the UK and France will sign a contract to ease travels between the countries !
We are not perfect, but we try..
Many many things have happened in the past 20 years Marie.. I also wish I knew what is going on too.... but am also glad that I went into Europe when the beginning of Easyjet was taking off... Those days and those memories of what I have seen of Europe will stay with me. As the world changes.. and as China goes online... and that they joined the WTO too... I don't even know where we begin, or end....

@@robcrowe11 No, but he was able to object about the conditions. The English press had a freedom which was unimaginable in France at that time.
Insperato62 Actually there was plenty of freedom in France before and after 1789. Blake was in with a crowd that the Prime Minister would target, and King & Constitution mobs would torment. Repression without a guillotine. Basically most of the English of that time were pretty sedate. And there are reasons beyond difficulty for why Blake was an obscure printer during his lifetime.

@@Rose-wk8pe Did you know that the Angles and Saxons were actually germanic tribes before they set over to the British isles. Not many people know about that fact.
thanks dad 🇬🇧♥️🇩🇪
There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with taking pride in our western heritage!! May God bless all those who value freedom and the intrinsic value of every individual human life.
As a yank I would fight and die to preserve your country's culture and pride. I love you Britain, I love you so much.
Your thoughts are reciprocated this side of the water.God bless UK/USAHugs from London UK

"I love you Britain, I love you so much."
God bless you for those BEAUTIFUL sentiments, Joseph !!
Joseph Prado We too acknowledge that special relationship with a lot of good hearted' ribbing 'we helped you come into being the greatest nation on earth and you helped us on more than one occasion..
Paul Gray -
"the greatest nation on earth"
THE 'greatest' ?
'Greater' than Britain ITSELF ?
I think not: let's content ourselves with ONE of the 'greatest', shall we ?
marvinc999 it is in my opinion. Had Britain not existed America would very likely have ended up like mexico. Imagine the implications to the world that would have involved. Had Britain been just a another off shore island a third of the world would not have been civilised. Australia would still be a stone age nation with just aborigines populating it.
A lot of the great inventions and contributions to the world have come from Britain; directly or indirectly over the past two centuries.
Britain is the true king of the world like the lion is the king of the jungle. In recent years it has declined by ineffective management which was caused by the British themselves on a gullt trip. Nobody has invaded Britain in a thousand years.. That's some record!!!
I'm a German. And I've always loved England. Ever since I was 6 years old. I don't even know why. I just think it's beautiful.
Its called "soft power" or "cultural power"

@@alexlarnach5271 Much love to you, Alex, from across the great pond.
I'm so sad as we in America are on the verge of losing our Democracy this coming week . Evil has befallen our country and we may not get out from under it for decades. I cry for America almost every day.
I have noticed a budding resurgence in mutual appreciation, support and kindred bond between the u.k, America, Australia and Canada recently (to name but a few) I sincerely hope this continues and we can stand firmly together. We have woken up to those that would divide us and in so take over us bit by bit. Thank the good lord above and our innate spirit. We may bicker amongst ourselves from time to time...But I dare anyone to stand up to us face to face.
I hope you are right Mark, for we will need a special kind of bond between nations to get through this. Maybe this is the catalyst from which we can once again come together in mutual respect and common toil. Like the Great Man said; 'let us go forward together'
@@deiterjohannson9116 AMEN to that! From a fellow Australian and a kindred spirit!👍
I second that 💯! From a fellow Australian forever standing with the allied forces!🤝
Perfectly said. Thank you and may God bless us all.
Mary Klock many thanks. And the ties grow stronger still 👌🏻
I am a Yank of Cornish, Scottish and English heritage. I was even clever enough to own a home on the Cookham stretch of the Thames in Bourne End, SL8 5EB for 10 years and loved every minute of it. My first brush with Old Blighty was during the war when my parents played -- LIVE - the sound of Big Ben at midnight (our dinner hour) and allowed my little sister and me to rejoice in the knowledge that London survived another day. And - to top it off - a good friend has just sent me news of Vera Lynn at 103 as we are now just 8 hours from that glorious moment when the UK will once again assume a posture befitting its glorious past.
God Save the Queen!.
yes with a bumps along the way greetings from a Brit in Saigon
God bless you Lewis. The Stanley Spencer museum in beautiful Cookham says a lot about who we were and still are.
Cookham is a beautiful place. I used to swim in The Thames there - I let the boys tumble through the weir, I had more sense. The Anglo Saxons has a ferry/crossing there before William the Conqueror arrived. We never did learn French ha ha.
She did her duty till the very end, Rest in Peace, your majesty, Queen Elizabeth II Britain's greatest and longest reigning monarch.
I Am Indian But I Love This Anthem. It Gives Goosebumps.
As an American I respect the Queen. And I want to thank you for the Beatles/British Invasion. Well Done! Best invasion ever!
Norma Stitz as a Brit i can say I’m equally thankful for the Beatles ect haha as well as the American culture that’s come our way! Bless you, from London 🇬🇧
30 years in the US, and the nostalgia of this hymn and the last night of the proms still bring tears to my eyes. Patriotism has nothin' to do with politics at all.
Amen, Michael. It brings tears to my eyes, too and I'm not even British.
Hope the US is treating you well! bless you, from London
Jerusalem is without a doubt the most beautiful anthem I've ever heard.
after the best of all, the Bozhe Tsarya Krani
Jerusalem is a Hymn and used to be taught in schools, I don’t know if it is now. But it should be
@@kaylaireland3494 I used the word 'anthem' intentionally. Much cooler than God Save the Queen =p
Absolutely
I am German and I got goosebumps while hearing this. I'm afraid we don't have this anthem anymore.
Best "God Save the Queen" I ever heard!
I agree

Love this 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Sure bring me to tears to see our brothers and sisters in the UK celebrate like this.
I was discussing with my father some years ago our plans to visit England together , I said I was only concerned about one thing, he asked what that was, I replied that I might not want to come home, Oh he replied why? I said “ because deep in my heart I believe I am an Englishman”. I now know this to be true.
Good man! You have your head screwed on, as we say. My wife had Goan parents, brought up in Kenya and Goa till age 16, fortunately had a British passport by right and is far more patriotic than most British people nowadays!
Hurry up then while i put the kettle
Welcome home
When the camera showed the park full of people, it really made me believe in heaven with every tribe, tongue, and nation standing before the throne.
I used to sing this at my English school founded in 1550. I thought it was as old as the school but it was 258 years younger.
God bless the commonwealth. Love from Solomon Islands
I was born there 86 years ago and I’ve lived in America for 60 + years
as an American citizen but seeing this makes me grateful to the country of my birth.
Hooray for Americans and God Bless you all!!!!
This event is.. just simply.. Beautiful. Flags of all nations, states, etc, etc. No racism. No hatred. Acceptance. It's beautiful to see all the different flags there, saw a Florida flag, French flag, Spain, Argentina, UK, American flag.. It's beautiful.
79treefrog I pray for a day that we are no longer separated by borders but are united as humanity!
79treefrog saw two Irish Flags as well...Very Beautiful....
79treefrog
79treefrog It's easy for us Brits, we're revering ourselves in song, props to the other nations (that are more than welcome) that come far and wide to join us doing so. But yeah, we don't take other people flying their flag as an insult, more we get euphoric in song together and bond, perhaps something as corny as singing really /is/ the way to peace xD
79treefrog I felt much more respect towards many nations after this
I wish I could thumb everyone up, in these comments.
