- This is a requested, overdue video of some items I made during the summer and pieces I made for a summer challenge on the Junk Journal Ideas and Inspirations FB group. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions or if you’d like to see how an item was made. Thank you for watching and happy creating.
I felt like it was Christmas morning with each of your projects being a delightful present! Thanks, Santa Cori!
Happy holidays and thank you!
Thanks for sharing Cori. So many beautiful things that you went through quickly. I will have to go back and study the different playing cards more closely. Have a blessed day!
Thank you and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it 😊
I appreciate your concern about shadows but it's not as if you're sitting in the dark and we can't see anything! Remember this is UA-cam and not a Stephen Spielberg movie. Don't let the small issues take over.
Excellent point. Some have mentioned the shadows so I've been attempting to fix it 😊
The lighting has never been an issue for me. I follow some who have no special lighting, but still come back for the IDEAS!
Thank you!
As always fabulous!!! Love to see a video of playing cards 🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰
Thank you and hmmmm. That could be a fun one to make 😊
Cori, I love the cut our playing card with a flowers in the center. Brilliant. And I don’t have a problem at all with your lighting situation! Your lessons are always fulfilling. Thank you. 👍❤️😁
Thank you for that. Some have said the shadows are annoying, so I'm trying to eliminate those yet still be able to make. Baby steps 😊
Cori, I love how the napkin glued to a book page looks! I’m making those Linder candy wraps, and I’ve been having a blast decorating them. Thanks, Doll!
Wonderful! So good to hear that you're enjoying making them😊
Wow so much inspiration in one short video, this is one I will have to watch a few times Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring Hugs and Smiles
Glad you enjoyed it and I'm happy to hear that you gained some ideas ❤️
Thanks for sharing all your beautiful makes! So many great ideas and inspirations. And all of them are just gorgeous! Hugs 🤗❤️
Thank you for always leaving such kind comments ❤️
I’m amazed at all the different things you are able to make with scraps. Tfs.
Honestly, it helps A LOT to use a list... either with prompts as shared on this video or a list of ideas of things to make with scraps.
Can't wait to see how you do the linen journal cards. Love the playing cards too, wow just so much amazing ephemera!
Thank you, Nancy! New ways to use old things always makes me happy 😊
Cori, I enjoyed see all the bits you have made from scraps! I thought your lighting was fine. Seeing the lights at the end is part of the journey. I've seen some channels that show their round light thru the whole video. I come to see you and what wonderful items you will show this time, not to critique your lights! So no worries! TFS! Hugs from South Dakota 🤗
Thank you for that 😊
Incredible amount of inspiration packed into this video! Absolutely amazing.

Thanks so much! 😊
ive been a fan for a number of years, just never made comments until recently. you never disapointed me, im always excited to see what your working on!
You are too kind and thank you for that very thoughtful comment ❤️
I, personally would enjoy seeing how many of these were made. I really liked what you did with the playing cards. Honestly, this went by so quickly it was a bit hard for me to focus my attention on anything.. I felt like I was watching a very fast 50 card pickup or something. They looked to be great things to have to pick up, for sure!
LOL! I did, indeed, go through them quickly. Maybe it would be fun to revisit some ways to alter playing cards in the new year. Thank you!
those playing cards!! wowzers!!
Thank you and PS, great name 😊❤️
Absolutely love all the things you have created I’m trying to get started into making journals. Love your ideas so glad I found your channel. Great inspiration. Hope to find how you made a lot of these items
Thank you so much and welcome to the wonderful addiction of junk journaling!
So many wonderful
Pieces! Yum!!! 😍❤
Thank you 😋
Lots of lovely things. 😁
Thank you! 🤗
Hi Cori! As always, you are so creative! Thank you so very much for sharing! I photograph jewelry -- silver, gold, crystals, etc. with a light box and finagling fabric over my lights to completely remove any extra harsh glare. Now, I don't use the light box that much anymore and just use the fabric and lights. I'm going to your Etsy shop to send my contact information if you would like to talk.
Thank you very much for the kind tips! I appreciate you 😊
These are a treasure trove! I appreciate the amount of ideas you put in one video. I use these as an idea bank - I will come back to it later today to make some things for a journal I'm in the middle of. Thank you!!! At 3:43, I love the tiny library book pocket looking thing with a daisy, at 19:34 I like the 2 playing cards ! Also love the junk mail decorated with scraps at 10:15.So much to enjoy!! I would love to see one of those featured.
I will look those up and share how they're made. Thank you!

Thank you and I’m a person who loves options 😊
So many gorgeous pieces. I particularly loved what you did with the playing cards.
Thank you so much!
Thank you, Cori. I love seeing your skill and creativity in using your scraps. Is Rita Donnelly the name that escaped you for the corner pocket? What adhesive did you use to attach the handkerchief to the card before stitching? 😀💞
Yes! Rita Donnelly! Thank you! I just used a skiff of glue stick to hold it in place before sewing around the edges. With really thin handkerchief I use heat and bond or wonder under so it doesn’t buckle.
A lot of amazing inspiration Cori, thank you for showing this😊
You are so welcome and I hope the pieces gave you an idea or two 😊
I love your style❤
Thank you 😊
Love the pieces where you’ve used transparencies Cori, they look simple but amazing! Fabulous stash of makes, can’t wait to seeing your completed gratitude journal ❤❤
Thanks so much, Mandy. I got to work on it a bit today and I’m having fun with it 😊
You are so inspiring ❤
Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤
awesome makes Cori XXX
Thank you, Lorna. Gotta love a full scrap bin 😊
Love those transparency flower tags... very interesting ephemera
Transparency is a whole lot of fun to play with. Thank you 😊
😍❤️
Oh Everything is gorgeous!! As far as the lights reflecting, have you seen the grey working matts? there's no reflection at all... that might be a solution.
Grey working mats… I’ve not heard of those but I’ll definitely look into it. Thank you 😊
Yes, they are a beautiful grid pattern with a soft grey color, not sure what they are called or who makes them.... the last one I saw was on Camelia Crafts... Julie has one, and there is no reflection at all. They're probably called crafting matts... ahahhah, I'm so blonde... 🤣 @@CoriDahmen
Thanks for sharing, Cori. I know that you have shown Gayle's fold down before but I don't remember when you would have done it. I know it is probably a simple fold down, but would you be so kind as to quickly "refresh my memory" and go over that again (or tell me which past video you might have shown this before)? Thank you very much. I love watching your videos. You're so inspiring.
Thank you! They are super quick and easy. I have no idea which video I’ve shown them in, but I’ll be happy to quickly show it when I share this completed journal 😊
Awesome ephemera!! The handkerchiefs are just glued down or did you do something else? I have so many!!! Would love to use them
Most are put in place with a bit of glue stick then sewn around the edges. The really thin ones are adhered to wonder under or heat and bond, then sewn. Thank you!
So much to look at. I paused the video and figured out most of the ones I like except the waterfall tag thingy at 8:34. Did you do a video on that one already?
I don’t remember sharing that exact tag in a previous video… but I will. The current gratitude journal will be done soon and I’ll share that how-to on the flip through video.
When you use an old hankie to make a journal card, do you glue the fabric to the card before sewing around it?
I usually tack them in place with glue stick, then sew around the edges. For thinner handkerchiefs I use wonder under or heat and bond and iron prior to sewing the edges.
What did you use to attach linen handkerchiefs to make journal cards?
These were just held in place with glue stick then sewn around the edges. Both wonder under and heat and bond work well for thinner linen.
Could you show us the junk mail envelope? It was right before 8:42. Thank you
Absolutely. I'll show the how-to in my completed gratitude journal flip through.
I'm curious to know what paper you use for printables.
I use either Epson premium heavyweight paper in matte or the presentation paper in matte. Just depends on which weight is needed for the project.
How do you make origami folds 6:37?
It's a simple folding technique. I'll show it (I promise, it's super quick!) during my gratitude journal flip through.
